We are sold out of the power supplies but still have plenty of boards in-stock.
222  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 8 Antminer S1's 180 - 200 GH/s on: June 23, 2014, 03:17:05 AM
With summer here I'm selling off my Antminers.  I've got 8 of them currently listed on eBay for $249 + shipping.  Would sell them for BTC instead though if anyone is interested.

Edit: All sold.
223  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How much are you willing to pay for Bitmain (Antminer) S3? on: June 22, 2014, 04:52:35 PM
if that is the case then what is the hold up? 3 days have been passed Roll Eyes

They announced yesterday that they were delaying announcing the price by a week.
224  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How much are you willing to pay for Bitmain (Antminer) S3? on: June 22, 2014, 12:33:24 AM
I think 1~1.15 bitcoin is right price. If its over 1.5, I'm out

Assuming they ship in early July .75 BTC would be reasonable.  Anything more than that would be a really tough sell at the current BTC price.

Not sure what you are looking at but all the data sheets I see either say 9 or 13 Amps

That would make sense but why does it say 4x6pin PCI required? maybe a typo
edit.
S3 Specs
Effective Hash Rate: 504 GH/są5%
Power Consumption: 390 W on wall
Power Supply: 4 +12V DC input, PCI-e connectors

Engineered safety margin.

Standard 6-pin molex connector is rated at 8A per pin, so 288A per connector.  Usually if you're running 24/7 you de-rate by 80% giving an upper bound of 230W @12V.  Given the S3 design uses 390W stock, it leaves a headroom of 35W @12V per blade which isn't a lot if you're trying to give the end-user some room to overclock and err on the side of safety.  So four 6-pin PCI-E plugs gives you ample room to overclock without worry about burning out molex connectors.

Standard 6-pin molex connectors are rated for 9A per pin not 8.

227  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: June 20, 2014, 01:06:07 AM
just curious: as the ancestor to hashfast in the sense of "pre-order never delivered", how come BFL still lives, and never sued for bankruptcy?

Because BFL mostly conned/screwed a lot of people for a little bit of money.  Hashfast on the other hand conned/screwed fewer people for a *HUGE* amount of money.  Those people are now fighting back.
228  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: June 19, 2014, 10:07:33 AM
So, how did the creditor formation meeting turned out to be?
Any updates?

Nothing too exciting.  People got a chance to ask questions of Hashfast's bankruptcy lawyer and their CFO, who was there representing the company.  Neither Simon nor Eduardo showed up.

Cool, this might help, the 5v points are circled in Yellow and the 3.3v points are circled in purple.  The vias can fit size 24 AWG wire and you can get a breakout for a USB socket for a few bucks from Sparkfun.com

I already have enough sacrificial USB cables to add a charging point.
According to the pinout I have, pin 35 (top) and pin 29 (bottom) are both 5VDC.
I'll check them with a meter first but will only take a couple of minutes to solder on a USB socket.

Pin 35 (Top) is the 5v you want.  Don't use 29 that is a digital logic signal not a power rail as far as I can tell.

I found the pinout, so I'll probably mod this to add a USB +5VDC connection because not only am I using one of these to power my S1 but the design of your board is so nice and the power supply so good, that I will be using one as a bench test power supply and having a good +5VDC supply to keep small MP3 players charged, or a phone charged, will be handy.

I do car stereo work and sometimes you have to bench test things but amps require a minimum of 30A when they get up into the higher power range.  Accessories that use USB (like the little Sansa MP3 player I use) need 5V to at least keep the batteries charged, so tapping into those pins will be good.

I notice that the supply can also provide +5VDC @ 2A.
Have you thought about putting a USB connector on the board to provide power for things like a Raspberry Pi?

Yeah, when I was initially designing this I was doing it for my own purposes and was thinking it would be silly to power the Pi off the same supply since if the power went out then you wouldn't have a way to know since the Pi would loose power too.  Sort of realized after the fact though that there were a lot of different ways people would use these and probably should have put a 5th pin on the header for 5v power and offered a USB socket add-on board you could pop on the header.

If you have a soldering iron you can actually mod the board to add a USB power socket w/o too much trouble.

What about some Updates Dead / Will?! It's been a while...  Cry

Can anyone confirm a successful withdrawal of the dividends that were paid through cryptomex?  Because this is starting to look like straight up scam.
233  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whats the cheapest 1th miner selling from stock now? on: June 15, 2014, 04:25:25 AM
The stuff coming out of RockMiner looks promising.  They only have the r-Box right now but they have larger machines planned to come out in a week or two from what I've read.  Canary looks to be selling them at a price that could give ROI.

What are the dimensions and spacing of the two mounting holes?

The mounting hole are spaced 70 mm (7 cm) apart on center.  The holes are sized to fit a M3 machine screw.  The power supply also has holes for machine screws in the bottom that fit size M3 screws.  Their spacing is also roughly 70 mm +/- a few mm

Will or DT will/can/are you going to explain why my withdrawal requests were denied?

Mine looks the same way I initiated a BTC withdrawal request on June 10th (4 days ago) and nothing has happened.

I'll also voice my concern as others have pointed out about the low hashrate.  I think we need an independent party to go in and make sure all the equipment that is supposed to be there is still there ASAP or lets get a live webcam on the equipment at least.

Where is the creditor matrix? I would like to look at it to see if I am on it

I got it by email. Not sure if I can make it publicly available. Will check.

HR:  It's a public document so it's fine to share it.

Our review finds it full of errors so it would be good to make it available.

Any idea why the cover sheet says it consists of 73 sheets but it it only 39 pages long?

well to late i guess...web site says "sold out"
When should be next batch available...? ...I could use some... Wink
We are expecting a shipment early this week and should have more ready to ship by this Tuesday.  Will update here and on the site when we are back in stock.

Edit: When we are back in stock the first 30 orders to use the coupon code "BITCOINTALK" will get 8% off any number of Gigampz boards at checkout.

We are back in stock, We also have a new version of the power supply that is a couple bucks cheaper but this one runs a little hotter.
238  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer s1 power supply help needed! on: June 10, 2014, 07:06:27 PM
How does that work?  Does the polarity of the pwr/gnd not matter on that S1?
239  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: June 10, 2014, 07:02:35 PM
How long will whole this process dure? We are now on half of 2014. So what is the plan to give everybody their money back? Is there a deadline? For what are we waiting for? sorry for these stupid question but i need to know

A long time.  The next important date is June 27th there will be a hearing to discuss the first steps of the process.

Hello, i just bought a Antminer S1.

And i don't know if i can use this power supply or not. it only have one PCI-E 6 pin, but it also have 8pin can i use the 8pin?

This is the power supply (got it for cheap, yes i know i am a cheap bastard)

Or is this useless?

That is cutting it very close, you would not be able to overclock with that at all.  You would also probably have to end up cutting up the wires limiting any resale value of the supply.  I would return that and get something better.
