This thread is a disaster, what the hell

So how are you this evening?

There are other threads arguing can be posted in. This thread is for Shadow discussion.

Seriously, guys. Go to the Zerovert thread, and read some of longandshort's increasingly desperate (and very funny!) comments. You don't have to take my word for it, judge for yourselves..

WTF man, is your brain OK? These zerovert and/or Poramin come out of nowhere and claimed he have this zero/ZK working and people are buy into it? No POD with lot of premined. Oh god, I am speechless. Please put me to sleep with all these miserable scam call altcoins now.

There has been enough evidence found to show that Poramin (bushido) is the coder behind zerovert. There has been no trolling of zerovert, as far as i saw only technical questions were asked and testing of the supposed zerocoin transactions. Which might I add were done by more than just shadowcash community holders.

So you saying zerovert have this zerocoin zk implemented and working?

zerocoin was abandoned for a reason.

So you saying zerocoin was abandoned then this guy bushido come out of nowhere and make everything to worked while your shadowcoin dev still coding/poking around?

Zerocoin was abandoned because it was inefficient, and found to have holes. That was why they zerocoin team scrapped it and started over with zerocash.

If you read the thread there is a guide on how to make zerocoin work with anycoin.

As far as shadows implementation of ZK, it is not based off zerocoin or zero cash, it uses its own unique implementation. We are currently in Private Testnet testing.

ZeroVert already claimed they have this ZK working.

Yes they do have a working implementation of zercoin, that is closed source and has not had an audit. IF you read the thread and look at some of the technical responses you can see its limitations.

Just to be clear are we saying this is going live with zk on 5th?

Yes, we will release the coin with ZK on 5th.

Not zerocoin but ZK that your dev is still poking around. I don't know much and not accused of anything;
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=846471.msg9440756#msg9440756

Official word from official ZeroVert dev himself. I would end here and all we know is ZeroVert claimed to be the first to have ZK working.

I can claim to be the official something and make a claim, does that make it true? Until it's audited or peer reviewed then i would be cautious. Also the mining is skewed so it will take months for miners to catch up to the amount of premine coins.

This was ryno's post in the thread on the matter.

Well, even if it doesn't scale and it's not secure enough, it's still a nice proof of concept we can play with. I'll try some zerocoin spends tomorrow when the coins I mined mature. Unfortunately the issues are fundamental so it's not a matter of just tweaking some parameters to make this usable in real world situations.

It's quite clever that they n
ever send zerocoins Tongue
I agree with SpainCoinDev, nice that someone actually implemented it, even though it was a bit reckless.

Good job zerovert Smiley

229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SCAM] BLOCKNET: The Metcalf/Prom Alt-Coin Cartel Scam Exposed on: November 08, 2014, 12:55:44 AM
As much as I wanted blocknet and want it to succeed (if dummies could see past the FUD, as the potential IS THERE), all of these threads and BS reading is just making me sick of even thinking of investing.  I mean with spare btc maybe but it's just over the top back and forth, making it hard for anyone to be able to take things seriously.

Ideas are nothing with out the right people behind them to implement them. Why anyone would trust their own money to an organization who's demonstrably unethical is beyond me.

I do understand though that people with illiquid alts like the ones in blocknet would love the chance to unload them for a chance at potentially having a more liquid way for them to convert them to BTC(the blocknet token). Not sure their plan will work out, but it might. People who hold those alts still should look out though. The amount of actual BTC they hold looks to be fraction of what they claimed they needed for development. This of course entails that they will likely be selling some of the alts they collected, which in these quantities could be devastating. I doubt many people will want to invest in them now simply because of the uncertainty surrounding that situation.

People who put raw BTC in to blocknet have a very odd approach to investing:

1) invest BTC in a project that people have pointed out needs 500,000 BTC in volume on microfee transactions(not all transactions, just feature services like mixing) at a conservative estimate to create 100% profit.
2) invest now in that project and wait at least 8 months while it's developed.
3) wait for blocknet to gain enough user base to generate that amount of volume, perhaps millions of users considering the fees are only charged when doing coin to coin services(remember you can already buy coins on exchanges. if i want a VPN i can just buy one already with BTC or just by UTIL if it's actually worth it)
4) Huh
5) ...profit?

Of course no one really thought this one through. As it's not necessary because the money is likely planned to be made on a pump and dump as is standard procedure for this group. Will there still be a pump after all this or just a dump at some point? Prometheus has the power here, if he can pull this one off and make a profit out of this shitshow I will be impressed. I'd assume though any rational actor would just move on to an easier target. At this point trying to pull this out of the gutter would be an ego play only, not money a play.

good points in here.

On a more serious note, Currently the total network weight is 60k. If I purchase 60k myself, would that mean I would have half of the total network stake rate?
I dare say your weight would be 6k or below

Hmm, is there a formula for calculating with a 24/7 staking wallet?

(Your coins * 2% / 365). Will give you an approx calculation. Then you have to factor in compound interest as your minted coins add to your amount of coins to stake.

I stake 24/7 myself. After the first day or two it runs very consistent as you get a balance between coins in stake and out of stake
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] Shadow | 1st OS Stealth Address | iOS+Android Staking | PoS-SPV | HTML5 on: November 07, 2014, 10:31:59 PM
I was wondering if a bit of DRK money would start coming into SDC.
I can see it already has  Cool

Impressive.

Bought a few as well Grin

Heh, that's kind of awesome. So that's you, me, and Coinz so far.

I have 50k as well, but I've had them for a while now. And it's not DRK money per se, I (bag)hold a lot of different coins lol.

Anyone wanna buy 50 million earthcoins btw? Sad

You SOB now I'm going to have to buy more to one up you!

On a more serious note, Currently the total network weight is 60k. If I purchase 60k myself, would that mean I would have half of the total network stake rate?

The weight bounces around as coins go in and out of stake.

I have 24k coins waiting to stake at, my weight is 1,200 while net weight is 60k
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] Shadow | 1st OS Stealth Address | iOS+Android Staking | PoS-SPV | HTML5 on: November 07, 2014, 10:26:18 PM
As a long time darkcoin holder, what really brought me to drk was that Evan was very transparent with who he was and it led me to have some faith to invest in the project.

I'm wondering who is the core team behind SDC? I'm already invested a little, but want to know more.

What made me trust this dev team is the tech they have put out. They never hype anything and they never even announce a project until its already on testnet. Getting a community roadmap from these guys was very difficult because they are so careful to not hype their tech. This is one reason no one has heard of SDC other than those who have been lucky enough to stumble across it. They have released an incredible amount of firsts in crypto within the last 4 months.

  - First wallet2wallet rich text instant, anon, encrypted messaging
  - First openssl dualkey stealth addresses
  - First full feature mobile staking wallets
  - First HTML5 wallet
  - First POS lite wallet/SPV

Im sure I am forgetting some tech releases but you get the idea. What's even more crazy is that they quickly open source all this tech, maybe to the detriment of gaining notoriety for SDC.

They are about to release a tech breakthrough that nobody has been able to accomplish. People have been trying to pull off ZK for over a year and no one has been able to do it. From what I am hearing ZK is testing just fine and will be public testing very soon. All this makes me trust this dev team even more than knowing who someone is in real life.

+1 Well spoken.

Glad to have you on our side.

That being said Ryno did do a POD with crypto asian, and his linked in profile is avail to view.
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] Shadow | 1st OS Stealth Address | iOS+Android Staking | PoS-SPV | HTML5 on: November 07, 2014, 08:15:16 PM
Can someone explain to me "staking" and "weight"?

Is it better to have multiple inputs in the wallet or is it ok to have only one large input in one address?

Basically, how can you optimize staking the most efficiently?

EDIT:

Am I also right in assuming that if I have 20k SDC being staked, I should be generating 1.096 SDC a day?

20 000 / 365 * .02

Okay, so staking is the process of creating a new block and getting this block approved by the network, according to the parameters of the protocol (8 hours for SDC) the staked coins will be unavailable for new stake during that time.

Weight is simply your weight on the network. If you keep your wallet offline / locked from the network for 1 day you will save up 1 coinday in weight per coin. In your case this would be a weight of 20.000 per day. Saving up the weight will make your coins stake faster at that point, but after they have staked they'll have to build up weight again to stake again.

Simply said, User A with 100 coins and 10 days of weight will have a weight of 1000 on the network. User B with 1000 coins and 1 day of weight will have the same weight, however he will stake earlier as he will gather more weight faster.

To get the most out of staking you should keep your wallet unlocked for staking 24/7. You calculation is about right, however, because you stake the 1.096 the next day also you will receive a bit more by the end of the year. Also, transaction costs get added too so eventually it's a bit more then 2% if you stake 24/7.

Awesome. Should I just remove the passphrase entirely off the wallet since it seems you are only able to stake with it unlocked. The only way I've seen to unlock it is with walletpassphrase 'MySuperSecretPassword' 300 true.

Which unlocks it for 300 seconds. Is there anyway to unlock it indefinitely?

Also, I tried doing a send message thing. What the hell is the public key? In a regular bitcoin address, the public key is the public address. How do I send a message to someone if they shared a public address with me?

If you are using daemon / command line then 999999999999 is the solution, no other way to do it. If you use the UI you can unlock it indefinetly via the menu options by simply unlocking the wallet for staking. (Settings -> Unlock Wallet)

If using the GUI, when you go to unlock the wallet, you can unlock it fully or click the checkbox and it will "Unlock for staking only".

We are on testnet now with it.

Isnt really good to hear that evan was planning something with sdc. Cant understand why to merge with public known scam devs.

https://ounce.me/blog/the-current-state-scum-of-alt-coin-development/
Tbh only XC came out of that really badly. The other guy representing SDC was just kind of listening to what the XC scammer guy had to say.

Its just really sad to see that some altcoin devs buy coins from each other for coordinated pump and dump. The usecases behind blockchain technology is mind breaking... But not for those people...

Are you an idiot?  When DRK had it's huge pump a while back, it was coordinated between 5 pump groups.  How do you think pumps work exactly?  Every coin that pumps has "pump group/s" behind it.
Any proof? 5 is a specific number or random guess?

Remember Koolio?

koolio was part of proms group when the drk pump happened.

Dude there is a whole thread about this, The above information is one of the reasons things were called off with XC. Here is my origional post on the matter https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=841223.msg9389556#msg9389556 . I posted the SS to clear up the facts and allow people to focus on the facts. I was threatened numerous times to say that the statements were altered when it was just thought it was an irc txt conversation.

The Proposed DRK-SDC merger was from weeks ago, Like aug-sept.

DRK and SDC have much respect for each other, no need to go down this path.

Hi guys, I just bought 35k SDC (sorry for increasing the price 10% by doing so). I own more than 1% of all DRK and decided to diversify with SDC as I like your project. Good luck!

PS I love your beautiful wallet

Welcome mate good to have you, I see DRK went up too, Great news piece you guys had.
