221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: November 25, 2014, 02:37:46 AM
Hey guys,

I went to create an alias, and got this error message:
http://screencast.com/t/QtiS8rbd

I didn't have enough to cover the activation (1700+SYS) but the 1SYS fee was still taken from my wallet.
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: November 24, 2014, 02:26:52 PM

Yea but any type of BTC software I want to use is already pre-configured, if I want to use a market place all I have to do is get a cod snip and place it. Also BTC has extensive online help I could read through and stumble my way through.

All I a saying is, adding some default settings or maybe a readme  Huh in the download could help lol.

Yah, agreed. I will put in a readme so it is easier to install/configure. We want to make this as user-friendly as possible.

Hey sphericon, got time to hop on IRC? #syscoin of course Smiley

EDIT: I'll be there for the next 8 hours roughly, let's chat for a bit if you can

EDIT2: Talked to sphericon, there will be an updated build tonight, and I (as well as others) will test. JohnDorien is ultimately in control of the bounty being sent. Current bottom line for approval of bounty: Clear instructions of how to use the app, Proper Build, able to browse/buy/sell.

We can't kill him with req's after the fact (after he already produced something) but if there is anything else anyone feels is important, please quote this and comment. I feel whats outlined above is the "bare minimum" assumptions going into this.

Also sphericon (or anyone else) if I am wrong/incorrect in this, please say so Smiley it was not clear starting this, so everything is open to negotiation if need be IMO

I was thinking of just tipping you directly, already put 100k towards the bounty Smiley

If you want to tip me directly, you can send SYS to SgbpCwDB8msuxXT8QoZMD2tjbdZEMNNAP1 Smiley

Tip Inbound Wink

Keep up the good work!

YES!!!!!!!! Cheesy Epic!

Will download today and offer some feedback. In the mean time, can I tip you? Idk how to tip in BCT :/

I would just send any tips to the official Syscoin bounty address. I assume at some point they will award the bounty!

I'll ask around and see how far along the other team has come, and I'm not sure about the other guy that was asking me questions about what's needed, he may have made some progress as well. But, seems you are the farthest along that I know of.

I was thinking of just tipping you directly, already put 100k towards the bounty Smiley

I've released an alpha build of the Syscoin market software for Windows.  Version 0.2-alpha allows you to browse the marketplace as well as list items. Purchasing doesn't work yet because of a bug in the Syscoin client, and I have not yet implemented search or category browsing yet.

You can download it here:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/hrc1ly5z58prvxe/SysMarket-0.2-alpha.zip

If you'd rather download source and compile yourself, you can grab it from github here:

I saw this on the road map and I think we need campaign #2 soon...

Quote

SYSCOIN PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN #1
With new informational assets in place, a proper promotional campaign can be started. Market using select well known promoters in the crypto community. Run ads on major network directed at specific demographics to increase reach.

It'll be coming once we have a few things confirmed, the last campaign was really successful pushing the price from in the 210 region up to a peak of 407 around the 15th September.

The next one will be bigger. We have more partnerships lined up now and discounts on advertising with the various outlets.

This is the time to buy some more sys.

I guess I missed the stopping point....

Wink

Please feel free to contact me by pm for translations in Italian. Also will add 5k to the bounty!

Would also like to point out to those bit##ing about lack of development that bitcoin is now where it is thanks to community efforts and those unrelated to "Satoshi" who adopted the project and worked towards the deployment of services. If you are able to support sys in any shape or form you should volunteer to it! I'm no coder but willing to help with translations... every little helps

Felt that deserved some more attention Smiley

Agreed, %100
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: November 18, 2014, 03:49:18 PM
Read reddit thread - bounty varies now depending in the GUIs Function. So I think we can create bounty depending on the coin's price, too. For example, if the marketplace results in the price going back to the ICO levels in the two weeks after the release, we migh add something to the pot. You could earn 30% on Sys in the last 24h and this is just the beginning of new uptrend.

My sole opinion: That's a bit unprofessional. "If your product makes our coin's value increase, we will pay you X amount more". I feel it gives sys an image of desperation, which no one here is aside from the weak hands.

Not a bad idea, but I feel would do more harm than good in the fragile PR position sys has (fragile because it is new and young to the existing crypto market).

I have to agree with you. But if the price reaches ICO price soon, some people should tip the programmers as a sign of recognition.

Agreed, that would be awesome of everyone to do, I'd tip for sure

OK i have to admit it - it was lame to sell some of my coins recently.

How many did you sell?

Awesome, thank you.

I can see we are about 300k shy, I'm going to get to pinging a few of the bigger pledgers today.
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: November 18, 2014, 02:30:43 PM
This is epic!! 30 points on the /r/darknetmarkets post

I know of 2 teams of atleast 2 people each, outside of this thread actively working on a UI, on top of the two working on it here from this thread, I think/hope it will be done soon Smiley

Any way to get an update JohnDorien on the balance of the bounty right now? I was going to start pinging the people who pledged to make sure they sent their offerings
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: November 17, 2014, 11:51:10 PM
early bird ipo price

same.. i think many of us are in the same boat. That being said, I think things will get better when the legal battle is over.

Same.

Sys is offering something never offered before, and is the farthest along in development compared to competitors offering this never before seen service.

This is why I continue to HODL Wink

Another comment from somebody who didn't read, but chooses to spew based on empty assumptions.

I don't post bullshit. It's relevant. Educate yourself first, then reply.

There is another which has already gone to big-money investors and has over 250 million USD backing it. Should see it on CNN and Fortune this week.
Whitepaper via Google Docs.

Whichever way you want to help push it.

Not trying to disregard your concern, but speaking investor to investor, your negativity is not attracting any new money.

Well said kamronk, getting harder and harder to understand his real agenda.
Reading through the past few days posts.......I wonder where some of the posters learned how to be such experts....and if they are ....why don't they go dev their own coin?

I feel like you just hit the nail on the head on how to truly weed out the FUD'ers Smiley

Not trying to claim WORE as a FUD'er, but I haven't seen any positive things at all in a while from him. Everyone is frustrated, even dev's are frustrated, but there are those acting, and those that are bitching. The time to point out whats wrong has come and gone, now it's time to act on what's wrong. No time for anything else, syscoin to the moon!!

No agenda, simply disgusted with the development progress, or rather the lack there of and I am seeing competing coins making progress and one of which is working on it anonymously, and that bothers me.

Competition will come, that much should be expected. Syscoin has a functional back end to work from, the only other competitor this close to fulfilling the needed service is OpenBazaar BUT I can't even confirm that much as I'm not involved in the Beta. All other coins talking about a decentralized marketplace are still in design phases.

Hashcoin...?  You are posting in jest right?  Did you read the third launch OP thread?  Draw any conclusions?

I'll give you benefit of the doubt and read it. But, CTRL+F "marketplace" brings up nothing substantial, nor "market place" or anything else semi related.

Like I said though, I'll keep reading but right now seems unrelated.

Hashcoin doesn't have a marketplace though, I'm lost as to it's relevance here :/

Once we resolve the moolah issue it will be off to the races...

Dude, anything dealing with the courts is going to take years!!!  The only ones who will come out ahead are the lawyers!!

Too true :/
