221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Hybrid PoW/PoS | btcsuite Devs | Tons of New Features | Go on: March 18, 2016, 10:27:33 PM
This development dispatch covers work completed since the Decred v0.0.6 release from March 5th, 2016 (includes the v0.0.7 priority release). Since then, developers have merged 26 pull requests of code into 3 software repositories. During this period, a total of 31 commits occurred in these repositories and represent modifications to the effect of 2,135 lines of code added to and 793 lines removed from the codebase. All 5 requests for proposals (RFPs) were processed and work began on all deliverables (RFP-1, RFP-2, RFP-3, RFP-4, and RFP-5). A total of 10 developers, designers, and writers (excluding Decred developers) are working on RFP deliverables.
    [/list]

Great Team, thank you so much for your hard work. I feel that our support(investment) to this coin is guaranteed. As soon as the GUI wallet   is launched more users will adopt DECRED and more exchanges will list it.

Strange feeling holding this bag. I can sleep soundly. I hold two of these types of bags... the rest is musical chair gambling at a strong disadvantage - fun though.

I like the name Bitcredits ,but already there was a Bitcredits
    https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412591.0

Yep, the concept "BitCredits" was my concept, nice to see there are thieves here too huh. I may do a Bitcredits in the future anyway as I feel I am entitled Smiley

Okay where is this evidence to you claiming rights to this concept? what's this concept you speak of?  Bitcredits eh? yeah make one, it should go very because that's where the value is right? - in the name.... strange thing too that you registered one month after this coin was announced. Welcome to the community though, we were missing a pet troll.

Time to get your bids in gentlemen.

224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT OPTIONAL UPDATE AVAILABLE 0.30.19.8 on: March 09, 2016, 12:27:28 AM
purpose of this is to defeat burning money in electricity your miner consumes. instead you bid and that goes into a fund backing your minted BCR with real BTC used for BCR infrastructure etc. (to be decided) Only a portion of the block reward goes into that though but it is the larger percentage of each block for bidders.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT OPTIONAL UPDATE AVAILABLE 0.30.19.8 on: March 09, 2016, 12:19:54 AM

    BID NOW!

There was a bid 1 hour earlier. that's on hour 23 of the cycle. Be careful about that and make sure the bids are cleared before you bid.

    https://blockchain.info/address/1BCRbid2i3wbgqrKtgLGem6ZchcfYbnhNu

how do you bid? do you just send btc to that address?

Send from your local BTC wallet (I use electrum) and then export the privatekey from the address you sent to your BCR wallet. You'll start receiving the equivalent of your bids in BCR.... If you're the only bidder, you'll get it all each block, if there are more bidders you get your portion etc etc.

Make sure to always send from the same address to get your BCR without having to import new keys etc. So send from the same address (be careful with change addresses because you'll have to import them too if you send from those).

    so is current bid 0.01?

    Correct

    SIDENOTE
I think the confusion was with GMT time because two bids were made 1 hour earlier. 00:00 GMT a little after is when the script clears the bids.

    PSA:

BTC bids are now automatically cleared every 24 hours.

So set a reminder everyday @ 0:00 GMT to place your bids right after you see a red arrow here: https://blockchain.info/address/1BCRbid2i3wbgqrKtgLGem6ZchcfYbnhNu

New Interest Rate Calculator webpage -

    https://hodlcoin.github.io/

You're losing interest just by reading to the end of this very long, some might say, unnecessarily long, sentence. Get HODLed up - lock in the current interest rate now before more of your time is wasted by unnecessarily long sentences designed to delay your HODLing.

such a tease hahaha. nice page.

It's not like they are centralizing the whole economy, this will be just a service for extra anonymity... I guess they would make that layer opt-in for an anon tx. with a checkbox or something.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DARKNET [DNET] QRK ALGO - PoW/PoS on: March 07, 2016, 05:23:01 AM
@proletariat The short answer is it is a trusted system, as to my knowledge (and others) there is no way to accomplish what we want to do in a trust-less manner. We will be working on making it function in a trust-less manner but that will be further down the road.

What makes this a trusted node is that we would host and physically be in control of the node for security reasons. This isn't much different in the fact that we are essentially in control of the source of the coin, or dealing with a new exchange. There will be some code running on this node which is not publicly available which is the reason for the security requirements. If at some point the means present themselves to make the source safe to make publicly available then we will do so.

Thought Dash was already anonymous but adding our very own layer on top of that should be very interesting.
My nodes will vote yes on this, hope others do the same.

OK, I have posted a base Roadmap on the OP

There is one item in specific I am sure will have people asking many questions. That being the "Making the transactions untraceable to the Senders wallet" This is our next step in making this coin a Truly Anonymous coin. But, and there is always a but.. Smiley in order for this functionality to exist there is a Service that needs to be created and added to a special Masternode that will be operated solely by the "Darknet Foundation" (Yes, there will be one, just not yet). The reason for this is simple. Security of the Node. Which makes this service less decentralized than we prefer, but the transparency will still be there and everything will be seen on the blockchain. If at some point the ability exists for this part of the mechanism to be completely decentralized it will be done that way.

Seeing as this is not the normal way things are done in the crypto environment, I want to put it to a vote to see if anyone objects to such a mechanism being implemented. The service would incorporate a fee, which would be burned (helping inflation while using the service). The use of the service once active would be totally voluntary and not required to carry on as everyone has been.

So the security of the node is centralized but the functionality of the special masternode is trustless?

Smooth, are you still doing OTC? If so I'll buy 1,230 @ .00013999 as per listed above.  To which address shall I send the btc?

Yes I'm still doing it. If it is not in bold (and that one is not) then you need to contact the seller ('proletariat' in this case) directly and work out a trade. I can escrow if both contact me and agree to it.

    I agree for escrow.
