221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 11, 2024, 05:35:52 AM
Domantas Sabonis put up incredible stats but he wasn't selected as an All-Star. This could be the biggest scandal of this year. He's breaking record after record this year. He is at the top in double double and triple double stats. Sacramento is also in the play-off picture, yet Sabonis wasn't selected.
I'm watching him today against the Rockets, he's a very special player. He started the game well but then he lost his rhythm and made too many turnovers. The Rockets played better in the second half and it looks like they will win the game. Thanks to Şengün we watch Rockets games almost every night. Smiley
If the criteria was only the stats, sure he will be included in the all star, but it's not that simple, the criteria is more like a popularity contest.

As what we can read from this post.

These are the criteria.

**Performance and Statistics**
**Fan Voting**:
**Player Voting**
**Coaches Voting**
**Popularity and Media Exposure**:
**Positional Balance**
**Team Performance**
**Injury Status**:

On te above criteria, I think there's only one or two where he could obviously at the top 10.

A lot of players that are carrying their team that are not in the last all star, that clearly states that the criteria is more on a popularity contest.  Or for a player to become popular, he needs to have a consistency like every season, he has to be one of the leaders in the NBA. Luka and Jokic are very popular because they made basketball so easy, they can contribute a triple double easily in a given game, that's why they slowly gets popular.

It's all on the media, what the media usually talk in their topics will likely be in the all star game. However, since the all star isn't really that entertaining, I think the focus of the players now is that in the all star but to win a championship.
222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: March 11, 2024, 04:58:00 AM
Today I was watching some tiktok videos and one video showed up and I think everyone has to watch this video: www.tiktok.com/@fightmma.hype/video/7344412706214038816
To spoil you, this video shows how Tyson Fury was struggling against Ngannou and then comes the video of how Joshua was playing with Ngannou like the cat plays with a mouse. I still can't believe what I watched. At first I watched the fight where Ngannou won against Tyson Fury and then, months later, I watch a fight where Joshua simply destroys Ngannou.
Now Tyson Fury is making excuses and says that he was shit when he was fighting Ngannou and if he and Jushua fights, Joshue will face absolutely different Fury.
Lots of money will be made if they fight and it will be a hella interesting.

In boxing they always say that styles make fights. Fury doesn’t have the power that Joshua has and Joshua doesn’t have the chin or stamina that Fury has. They are drastically different fighters and that’s why we saw drastically different outcomes. It doesn’t necessarily tell us who would win in a fight between them because the circumstances are entirely different. Joshua is used to overwhelming his opponents early on but when they are able to withstand his power is when he gets in trouble.

Because Fury is a smart boxer, he doesn't go toe to toe against a known KO artist, he will slowly destroy it with his good head movements and jabs. But if you look at his previous fights, you can say that he really has the power because the last 4 fights before Ngannou, it was all won via KO/TKO.

So if Fury will face AJ, I doubt AJ will win as Fury is hard to beat, he will not allow himself to be careless and try to go for a KO, AJ would love to go for a KO, so probably AJ will catch a powerful counter from Fury, I might be wrong but right now this is my take if they'll ever face.
223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: March 10, 2024, 01:54:31 PM
Clippers -7 win
Bulls are perfect so far on their last 3 road games. I'm fading them against the Clippers who are gonna play their first game at home after some road games.

Suns +5.5 loss
Suns won their last 2 games without Booker, so I'm thinking that I might see the same here but I'm taking the points, +5.5 should be a good value here.

Denver -12.5 win
There's no doubt how bad the Utah Jazz on the road, so yes to Nuggets for another blowout win.

Updated record 32-32 (50%)

Clippers +3.5
Bucks are 3-0 in their last 3 games. It's time for the Clippers to end that losing streak and beat the Bucks.
I believe they will win but I'm still trying to stay a little biit safe here with the points.

Miami -11
They are in two losing streak, all losses are from road games. Now they are back at home and hosting a team that is already out in the playoffs, I think they'll be able to win by a big margin here.

Lakers ML
Lakers had a big win vs the Bucks, I think with Lebron probably be back in this game they can beat the Wolves.
Lebron and ANT are listed as questionable now, but i have a feeling they'll play.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 10, 2024, 11:30:55 AM
Looking at the four teams that will play play-in tournament, Kings, Mavs, Warriors and the Lakers I can say that Lakers actually has a chance. However, it is not going to be all that easy at all, it will definitely feel like it will take a while to get there. I realize that it is going to be a tough one, and I realize that it will not be easy for them to get those wins but with Lebron at the helm, I feel like anything is possible. I am not saying that they will win, I am just saying that they have a pretty good chance this way.

It should be pointed out that we still have no idea how the league will end though, if one of these teams go on a big win streak, then they may end up with something major without a doubt, it has to be bound to change.

The difference in win percentage between the team currently 6th in the Western Conference standings and those teams in the play-in zone is too small. So, I wouldn't rush to make any predictions yet as to which of the above teams will be in the play-in tournament and make it past this stage.

Still plenty of games to be played, more or less 20 games for each team and the outcome could change their ranking. They could be out of the play-in, stay, or ensure a playoff spot. We don't know yet, so we cannot count those teams that are not in the play-in picture as out.

Even the Warriors, they experienced 2 losses and recently loss to the Spurs in a big margin, the effect of Curry-less Warriors, so they need to get their MVP back as soon as possible so their ranking will not sink.
225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: March 10, 2024, 10:03:39 AM
For sure there are tons of people who had lost their bet with Ngannou, including me.  Grin
After the fight, Anthony Joshua advised Francis not to quit boxing because he lost his two first fights. Anthony Joshua Just like some other professionals in the sports must really see a future for Francis hence the reason why they are advising him to keep boxing. He is richer than he was because the compensation for loosing in the fight is still huge for him, but he may not be happy knowing that he lost his two games. As much as we may criticize Francis for losing in this fight also I believe that he has gained some more experience than he had before and that starting by fighting Tyson Fury and then now Anthony Joshua who are two goof fighters, will have an influence on his confidence.

Francis Ngannou really underestimated Anthony Joshua's abilities and that was why he was defeated flawlessly. Francis is no doubt a good fighter that arrived unprepared for the fight, his defeat should be a lesson to him never to underestimate any fighter again. He just needs to train more and master the skills of boxing to boost his confidence for more challenging fights. Even Anthony has had a fair share of defeats in the history of his career and it is only fair that he encourages another fighter going through the disappointment of defeat never to give up. Anthony Joshua is a good man and he  did the right thing by encouraging Francis never to quit fighting. This is just a period for Francis to gather experiences he'll boost his career with.

I doubt that he underestimated Anthony Joshua. I believe what really happen is we overestimated him thinking he has a shot on beating a real pro boxer AJ. He was there because of the hype, we bought it and we believe he can win, when actually he is not a championship caliber fighter, he is just a newbie in boxing. I know he is good back in UFC, but that does not automatically make him great in boxing as well.
226  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anxiety in trading (heart disease) on: March 09, 2024, 10:56:31 PM
Trading is a highly risky activity. You can lose everything you have in just a blink of an eye. This is the reason why trading is not advised for those who have weak hearts and emotions, and get easily fainted whenever they receive bad news. Good thing if they win consistently, but it’s more possible to lose frequently than winning at a regular basis.

Your heart condition will certainly be put at risk. So if you think you can’t stand the pressures in trading, don’t decide to trade in the first place but focus more on hodling bitcoin. You can still end up with massive profits through hodling if you are patient and have faith on your investment.
227  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What should newbies do in trading? on: March 09, 2024, 09:42:36 PM
I don’t just really know much to see about this to you, but my advice is continue whatever you’re doing ask questions, read, book, analyze use some pastry to judge your present and don’t be scared to take the risk continue what you are doing. I believe you should know the right thing to do after reading the books and following the Trading trends and also remember to go into CoinMarketCap and see how everything is going down and try to come into the forum anytime you have challenge and don’t be scared to take ricks. Secondly, be Patient on what you are doing concerning Trading don’t ever be greedy. Focus read continue don’t stop whatever you’re doing ask questions you before concluding.
My advice is, focus first on growing your knowledge in trading. Never trade if you are still not confident with your trading results. Although consistent trading will improve your experience in trading, but if it’s always a consistent loss, then I don’t think it’s helping you anymore. Even if you say you trade on the amount you can afford to lose, but losing a small amount will eventually lead into a huge one once your trading mistakes and losses will not be controlled.

Newbies in the first place are not advisable to trade. Instead, focus on buying and hodling first, and when you’ve gained positive outcome from it, then perhaps you can start taking a bigger risk like trading.
228  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need honest advise concerning this. on: March 09, 2024, 09:19:18 PM
I've been advised that as a newbie i shouldn't rush but to learn from old forum members and grow. But then, I've seen that for one to grow over here you need to get merited and on a regular basis, well i believe at this point i should've been able to acquire some merits, despite the fact that I'm still a Newbie but then i don't see the Merits coming, even after some post i felt could fetch the Merits. It makes me wonder if my posts are not Merit worthy or Quality enough.

Though it almost got me díscouraged, however instead of being discouraged, I'm open to learning ways or how to get the Merits and grow on here, my questions are what I'm i doing wrongly? How can i improve it and also where is the best board to write on if i need these Merits coming?
I have quickly look at your posts and I think you should avoid to post in sections widely spammed such as the gambling section if you want to receive merits and add some links or pictures to your posts more oftentimes. In addition you should increase the typography and the formating of your text, especially when your post is long because people won't read it in full if it doesn't look appealing.
Go straight to the point in every topic you decide to discuss with. Focus on the relevant information that you want to relay, and spare off from those unnecessary information that will only make your post longer. While it’s never wrong to create longer post, but forum members will always find it more readable if the post is only short but precise, compared to longer post because admit it or not, it’s so tiring even just by looking a long post ahead.

And lastly, don’t be obsessed with getting merits. You will eventually reach that point once people have seen confidence in your posts. Focus on acquiring knowledge and reliable information, and never stop learning from those reputable members in the forum.
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: March 09, 2024, 05:07:40 PM
This is a big shocker for all of us, Joshua just knocked out Ngannou in one of the nastiest knocks out we've seen in round two, Joshua took only one straight shot on Ngannou's head to flatten Julius, I know that AJ can win the fight but I never thought this could be this easy.

This is the highlight of that one punch knock out
https://twitter.com/bjpenndotcom/status/1766261771969703957

Brutal knockout indeed. So this settles the issue now and move forward and see if we can the "Battle of Great Britain" now that Joshua has won. Time for Tyson Fury to defeat Usyk and face Jushua next.

That's about the fastest boxing match I've streamed live in my entire life, Ngannou's was rendered completely clueless and wasn't even given any chance to be considered as a worthy opponent, Anthony Joshua really made him look like someone that have never been in any kind fighting sport nor mixed martial arts to so honest, he was so defenseless.
One of the fastest losses in boxing history. Ngannou thought boxing was all about talking too much and seeing oneself as the winner. He was unaware that the fight with Anthony Joshua would not be the same as his encounter with Tyson Fury, or that it would end so quickly.

Anthony Joshua had trained hard for the bout because he wanted to advance in his boxing career with a victory and he didn't want to let his guard down after losing to Usky twice.
AJ is very desperate to become a champion again that's why he will do everything to be at that stage again. That win will hype his name again and promoters will not be having a hard time to promote his fight. I think they are just waiting for the result of Usyk vs Fury, and hopefully Fury will win so they could market the fight better, AJ vs Fury, it has not happened before, unlike AJ vs Usyk where the latter had already beat AJ twice.

I think Ngannou will seek a rematch from AJ in the future because he never thought he would be knocked out so quickly and without much pressure.

No need, he showed nothing but hype. it's very clear that he is not ready for a big fight like that, AJ trained hard unlike Fury when he faced Ngannou.. And I also don't know if people are still hyped with Ngannou as the hype is necessary for promoters to give this a go.

Updated record 28-30 (48%)

Resuming today.

Cavaliers +1 win
With their impressive home record I'm confident they will win.  Though Mitchell is still out but this squad is capable of winning as they have a good system. The same with the Wolves, no KAT but they are on the road, so I like the home team because of their advantage.

Miami +8.5 - win
They will test the OKC. Last time they met, OKC beat them on the road, now it's their turn to try to win.

Bucks -1 - loss
I don't trust the Lakers anymore as they loss in a winnable game, so not with Bucks with Giannis probably playing.

Updated record 30-31 (49%)

Made 2 wins and had 1 loss in my last pick. Let's hit the winning percentage...

Clippers -7
Bulls are perfect so far on their last 3 road games. I'm fading them against the Clippers who are gonna play their first game at home after some road games.

Suns +5.5
Suns won their last 2 games without Booker, so I'm thinking that I might see the same here but I'm taking the points, +5.5 should be a good value here.

Denver -12.5
There's no doubt how bad the Utah Jazz on the road, so yes to Nuggets for another blowout win.
231  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Pump Bitcoin over $70,000! on: March 08, 2024, 08:58:44 PM
Okay whales, pump Bitcoin up!  I need to make a big profit on this.  And do whatever it takes to surge Shiba Inu as much as possible too.  It doesn't have to be true, it just has to make me money.
Why should the whales even listen to you, have you ever wondered about that? The only person that cares about what you need is yourself, no one else on the market cares about what any other trader may need to become profitable, so posts like this are completely unnecessary, since your profits are not going to be determined by such demands, and instead they will be determined by the price at which you bought your coins and the price at which you sell them.
Whales don’t have time to think for other investors because surely at this time, they are also making bigger accumulation for bitcoin more than we can imagine. Instead, focus on how you will grow your bitcoin portfolio as well. Whales are whales, they will always do things to maximize their own advantage, and not to make other investors highly benefit as well.

However, don’t worry because $70k might be easy for bitcoin to achieve this time. We are now crossing the last ATH so next to it is setting bitcoin for its new all time high in which majority of us are hopeful on reaching $100k for its new all time high soon.
232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just a friendly Bitcoin friend reminder - High price = more scams on: March 08, 2024, 08:32:57 PM
Bitcoin reaching a new all-time high have been the most talked about discussion in the forum since the beginning of the year. With all this information flying around about scammers, one should have already thought about it and know that they need to be on the watch out for scammers. I have seen how a lot of people have complained on how scammers infiltrate their wallets and take away all of their savings, it is paramount to keep reiterating on this, most especially for newbies as scammers will always be looking for a new technique to use and scam their victims once again. It’s the most sensitive time in the crypto industry, so we should all trade carefully and stay away and know when a scam is being portrayed.
Be more cautious in holding your coins this time. Most especially that bitcoin price has already break the record of the last ATH, I’m sure a lot of scammers at the moment are eyeing on every bitcoin investor and even send strange links and emails. Once you open it, consider it you fall on their trap. One day, when you wake up, you’ll only be alarmed seeing all your coins have gone.

This is a reminder to always check your wallet more often. And never ever dare to disclose your private keys even to your closest friend or family member, this is not the time to trust other people but only trust yourself.
233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: March 08, 2024, 03:24:29 PM
Gambling really is for the lucky to be honest.

Everyone will get there with the hopes of winning or at least to have a good time.

It's only the few lucky ones that end up actually winning something.

And they are just randomly sampled. There's no correlation between how good player you are and how much you win.

I want to deviate on that. I will continue to believe that gambling is for skilled people who can be profitable in the long run. Because if you rely on luck, you are not gonna end up winning, you might if you are extremely lucky like you are hitting a jackpot (one time big time), but if you only hit a minimal amount you will still come back again to gamble, and eventually you'll lose. That's the edge we have, and we can never beat that.

So, in my case, I try to learn and develop my skills so one day I'll make a living in gambling. ... sounds impossible, right? But that's just me...

Updated record 27-28 (49%)

Clippers +5  - loss
Back to back game for the Clippers after a big win in Minny. Now they'll play the well rested Bucks who are in a 5 winning streak.
Bucks might continue the win streak but I'm hoping they'll loss on the spread.

OKC+1 - loss
This team is gonna keep rolling, so I'm still riding them.

Jazz -6.5 win
After losing all the road games, I think they are set to bounce back at home where they are good at. A blowout win is expected here.

235  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: March 07, 2024, 11:56:26 PM
Ive been hearing about situations where someone buys a coin for a certain rate and not quite long after,  the said coin drops in value, or  someone sells his coin for a certain rate and then it appreciates just after.
What's your take on this? Given the period we're in is it buy time or sell time?
You don’t have to confuse yourself if you just follow the basic rule, buy low and sell high. So with regards to the current price today, it’s obvious that it’s still surging high but we have not achieved yet the new all time high, so the best move might be accumulate more bitcoin before its price reaches its peak. However, others might be selling and it’s also their own strategy, as long as they’re in profits, they’re good. But if you want to maximize your future profits, then just buy and do DCA, sell only when the real bull run is here.
236  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why are so many of my posts not being posted? on: March 07, 2024, 08:38:10 PM
It was a Rhetorical question, you are losing users because most people wont waste their time when posts are blocked.
They simply leave the forum and dont return.
The forum is fighting against spammers, there are a lot shills here, if the forum didn't have cool down of every post, they can create a bot and start to shill their shitcoins in every sections.

Honestly I don't think 6 minutes is really long, except you're forcing yourself to post as fast as you can.

Back in the days when I was still a newbie, I never experienced a duplicate error message but my post was not there, I guess you're keep clicking to post when you're still in cool down.
I have never experienced this for how many years I’ve been here in the forum. Maybe the forum has seen you spamming. Because if you are not breaking any rule, I don’t think you’ll face any problem like this. And if you’re posting too fast with a very short interval, I’m afraid you’ll be banned in the forum later on.

Try to review the rules in the forum. If you think you’re hitting one of those, then that’s probably the reason why your posts are no longer posted anymore. Or you keep on clicking the post button while waiting for your post to be posted that’s why the system has reacted like that.
237  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quickest way to earn merit? on: March 06, 2024, 10:34:40 PM
the funny thing is that i was busy opening the site everyday for the past one year to read the economic outlook without knowing i should've been post and commenting with viable and quality replies. hopefully, i make this year count with lots of merits

Getting merits is not only by making posts, you have to understand the standard required to be able to receive merits from the forum, the major expectation from you is in making a quality post, once you're inline with giving the best quality contributions from your own end, you will soon get used to it and merits will keep coming the more members are seeing thoughts in what you're posting.
I believe there’s more to it than simply making quality posts in the forum. This forum seeks to build a reputable area of learning, hence every member is required to gain relevant knowledge even on basic threads so that as much as they can benefit other’s posts in the forum, they can also take part in sharing of new knowledge and relevant ideas in the forum.

If you can educate yourself the best way possible, then you can increase your level of knowledge in the forum. With that, you can contribute great ideas in every thread you take part to discuss, which will eventually get noticed in the forum and these members will merit your posts afterwards.
238  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Or Investing which one is better to focus on right now? on: March 06, 2024, 09:59:24 PM
Since you are talking RIGHT NOW, then I would say that both trading and investing are worth it and profitable. Why? If you are an impatient person, buying known coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum will certainly give you profit even just in a few days believing that the price is continuously growing this time, unlike during bear season and even in trading.

But of course, you must think and asses your capabilities first which field you are fit for. Don't try trading if you are not totally ready and equipped with knowledge and skills, or even learn trading tools because even if the current market condition is good this never guarantees positive results. In this case, it is better to choose investing first before jumping to trading.
I would say focus more on buying and hodling first. I am very optimistic that the current price will consistently grow before price correction will appear in the market. And even if there’s price correction, that would only take some time and eventually bitcoin price will recover and goes skyrocket once again. That thought alone simply shows that investing and hodling will gain bigger amount of profits in the next couple of days.

Now, with regards to trading, you can pursue trading if you are sure that the price won’t end up in an opposite direction. But if you are still doubting on how the price will move, don’t make it complicated, just buy and hold patiently while waiting for bitcoin new all time high.
239  Other / Archival / Re: Are investors investing in Bitcoin at ATH now are fools ? on: March 05, 2024, 03:28:54 PM
Are investors investing in Bitcoin at ATH now are fools ?  Is there chance of major correction from here as prices have already peaked now.
And I consider that stupidity more appropriate for those who only talk about Bitcoin but don't buy or own it. Buying at ATH is much better than not buying at all, and as long as it is aimed at the long term I think it is fine.
You have to look at the trail of Bitcoin's journey, after a new ATH occurs, a new ATH will occur again. So never be afraid or feel at a loss to invest in Bitcoin as long as your goal is long term because you will profit if a new ATH occurs. And what you have to know is that Bitcoin is the best choice for the long term whatever the price of Bitcoin, when you buy it when you are in a position to have money, rather than waiting and having your money wasted, that is much stupider.
And when you buy at ATH and suddenly the price of Bitcoin drops drastically, you should be happy and calm. Since this is the best moment for you to accumulate more Bitcoins and hold them for the long term, wait patiently for the new ATH because it will definitely happen.
You are right there mate. If there are fools on bitcoin, those are the people who kept on missing opportunities to invest because they are waiting for the perfect entry in the market seeing bitcoin at its dip, not realizing that everyday creates a good timing to finally buy bitcoin regardless of its price and continue hodling. Now while seeing bitcoin heading to its new ATH, those people might be regretting wishing they were brave enough to take the risk and buy bitcoin even at its high price.

One who gets to decide to invest in bitcoin is not a fool. The fools are those who trusted shitcoins more than bitcoin because they believe that shitcoins will eventually last longer in the market with their highly exceptional value more than the price of bitcoin. If you are one of them, better to change your perspective and study the price history of bitcoin so you will know why bitcoin dominates the crypto market every now and then.
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: March 04, 2024, 01:15:27 PM
But for the PPV, there are no price yet, but it will be in the range of $70-$80 if I will speculation.

I will be leaning to as high as 1 million PPV to as low as 750,000 buy. I think Ryan can bring this kind of money in his fight right now, last fight is not PPV against Duarte, but he has set the record with Tank Davis last year with 1.2 million PPV.

This could be the range, as they are not that popular, or the fight is the unification fight. I think Pacman vs Mayweather PPV was around $80-90, so your speculation is quite on point.

Regarding the PPV total revenue, last time Ryan fought, which was against Tank Davis, they were able to sell 1.2 million PPV, so 1 million is quite realistic. But this might not break that fight since Tank Davis has a different appeal, being a KO artist, exciting to watch in the ring.

https://www.cbssports.com/boxing/news/gervonta-davis-vs-ryan-garcia-fight-pay-per-view-numbers-live-gate-exceed-expectations-in-las-vegas/

There's a possibility that this fight will go near that number or even break it, this fight is four years in the making

Here is the video of that thrash-talking

~snip~~~

I would be happy if it breaks the record of Garcia vs. Davis, but I want to stay realistic. This is no longer an undefeated Ryan Garcia who will be fighting Haney, so people now might think that Ryan has a slim chance of winning.
