161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler takes his own life after a loss. on: March 23, 2024, 12:54:46 PM
Gambling can never be for fun. People may play gambling for fun at first but once they play for fun they become so addicted to gambling that if they lose huge amount of money in gambling then they go into depression all they can do.
But how about those real gamblers that are doing it actually for fun? I don't think that it's not never for fun. It can be for any reason that we can do but mostly are saying they are doing it for fun. I agree that at the beginning, it is for fun but once the gambler develops the habit of gambling then that reasoning changes.
This is about controlling ourselves because they can't ban it because some are irresponsible.

This is pretty similar to liquor and cigars, although they are not good for the health but it's still not being ban. The point is, if we want to be safe, we have to stay in control as irresponsible gamblers have no room in gambling. Of course I would not agree it will be ban as i'm enjoying and that is despite I'm losing money, I never thought of taking my life.

We all should learn from this incident that gambling can never bring happiness and peace in one's life
About peace I agree because it increases our expectation from our bets and being not contented. But about happiness, I refute because when we gamble and we're having fun. The enjoyment is there and no one can take away that happiness from you until you start to lose money and everything you've got.

As I mentioned, blame it to us for being irresponsible, we can't blame it to the gambling industry as they didn't force us to gamble.
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: March 23, 2024, 12:05:01 PM
I got some picks for the upcoming games but not so sure if my win rate will improve, but I'm still trying and at the same time trying to stay discipline.

Miami -3 - loss
Ingram is out and Miami needs a win. Miami has 2 straight losses at home, they need to prevent that streak and win this game.

Lakers -7.5 - loss
Play-in spot is very important, and Davis might return, so they should win this game, hopefully by double digit.

Warriors -5.. loss
Same situation with the Lakers, a win here is necessary.

Updated record 39-46 46%)

Got Rekt..all 3 are bad picks, LOL... May win rate are dropping just like the Warriors,.. gotta get back in the game with these picks.

1- Knicks -7.5 - Good home team vs bad road team, I'll take the home team all day with the spread.

2- Magic -3.5 - Magic have an impressive home record and currently on a 5 winning streak. they should win and cover.

3- Rockets -10.5 - Jazz have no business winning, while the Rockets trying to continue their win streak for the play-in spot.
163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: in future are you hoping to see some countries in Africa legalis bitcoin. on: March 22, 2024, 10:27:40 PM
bitcoin is a future digital currency, i strongly believes that before BTC celebrate 50 years in existence at least one or two African countries is going to legalis it. because block chain network is expanding every day by day. and most of the countries in Africa have the knowledge BTC how it works.
Bitcoin is already legalized in some Africa countries. I don't know the country that you are from, but my country has legalized the used of cryptocurrency, and Nigeria has the highest number of crypto daily users and adopters.

Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco, Ghana and Kenya and many more countries in Africa that bitcoin is legalized. It is not compulsory that the government must use it as a legal tender before, bitcoin can be used or is legal.
Bitcoin has already become dominant in most African countries, having Nigeria as the leading country when it comes to bitcoin ownership. Because of this, it would not be surprising anymore if the rest of African countries will legalize bitcoin as well in the future. However, using bitcoin as a legal tender is still not put into practice, but I think the most important thing is they come to legalize bitcoin already.
164  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Success is a meaningless word without failure. on: March 22, 2024, 09:11:20 PM
Maybe it's true, without failure you will never be successful. Successful people have also failed, and even failed many times with different ideas before finally succeeding and pursuing it well.

Other things that may be the same are; People who can currently make hundreds of thousands of dollars from investing or trading may be those who have lost a lot of money in the process. It's simple, but of course the risks and rewards are worth it. So "Success is a meaningless word without failure", that's true.
Couldn't agree more. Where there are no failure, success is not possible. Because no man is perfect, we all commit mistakes and end up failing at some point, but as long as we continue to pursue our goals without signs of quitting, hence success will still be achieve in the future. A lot of successful people have limitless amount of failure, but they are brave enough to combat those failure until they find theirselves succeeding in the end. Faith and patience work, most especially in a volatile investment like bitcoin.
165  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am in dire need of assistance for my improvement on: March 22, 2024, 04:18:06 PM
I joined the forum late 2022 but most of my discussions are being moved to off topics, probably because my discussions aren't of good qualities.
One of the reasons why I got depressed and left but I am back now, in good health and sane mind, ready to learn to improve the quality, and also give back positive impact to the community.

Please kindly recommend me books and guide on how to be better.
Thanks in advance

Maybe the reason why this forum contributed to your depression is because you took it very seriously. This forum is just like every other platform where people engage in discussions and nothing more. Don't see the attacks or moving of your post off-topic as anything serious just enjoy the discussions. I am happy that you discovered the reason why your posts were moved and you are back to contribute to the forum. My only advice is to read more and post less. Keep learning and expanding your knowledge about Bitcoin and the forum and you will end up becoming a quality poster. In my early days in this forum, I focused more on learning and would ask questions or do research to learn anything I didn't understand in the course of learning. However, reading the Bitcoin Whitepaper will also give you foundational knowledge about Bitcoin.
I guess everyone has experienced that off-topic posts, but the fact that you consistently experience it, then there must be something wrong on your chosen threads or your discussion is not on point to your topic or thread, so it’s normal to move it to off-topic. However, do not see it as a failure but treat it as your challenge to make your post right and refrain from participating in a discussion where you have no relevant information to add.

Maybe you take this too seriously that you forgot to enjoy the forum instead. Just improve your reading habit and I’m sure, you’ll eventually make a quality and precise post throughout the process. Keep calm and never pressure yourself, instead motivate yourself more and keep learning from others relevant posts.

Warriors -5...(LOSS) Knicks are good but Warriors are playing at home,. I can't bet against this team when they are at home since they needed every week. Still the Knicks are playing undermanned, so I don't trust them as they might not be consistent.

Lakers -8.5... (WIN)A needed win for the Lakers also, with 25-12 record at home and playing a team that will play back to back, I guess it's all Lakers here.

Indiana -7(LOSS)/ Without Mitchelle, I think Indiana would dominate the Cavaliers like they loss to the Rockets.

Updated record 39-43 48%)

167  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is It Time to Buy More BTC? on: March 22, 2024, 12:03:08 AM
If you are afraid that you will end up going all in at the top of the cycle, then DCA is the way to go. That way you don't have to worry about the current market price and try to (naively) time it to buy at the bottom.

With that being said, its much easier said than done as many give it up in the end, or eventually go all in.

DCA is the most accurate way of gathering Bitcoins. The only thing we have to keep in mind while following DCA is that it takes time before you start seeing the real profit. DCA is not for those who want quick profit. The price of Bitcoin is near it's ATH these days and those who want to dive into Bitcoin right now should consider DCA strategy. The reason why DCA is recommended is because it will adjust both cases of upward and downward moment of price.
Before you resort doing DCA, ask yourself first if you are comfortable of hodling your investment without getting tempted to sell when price drops drastically. If you do, then proceed to DCA, as easy as that. Bitcoin will not be staying at its highs all the time as there are times its price will fall consistently. With that, if you don’t want to risk your hard-earned funds, then follow DCA method. As long as you don’t end up panicking  and sell your coins at a loss price, then you will definitely not become a loser in your investment.
168  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: advice for a beginner on: March 21, 2024, 09:21:46 PM
Hello, I'm a new trader. I started a month ago. I deposited $100, and now I've lost $40. Any advice for me? I watched some YouTube videos and found a technical analysis video which helped a lot. I started not losing as much. Sometimes I even earn. But even though, I feel so lost. Like every day, I see some random coins get boosted. Some people earn from how they know that coin will go up. I'm sorry for my bad English; it's not my first language.

I guess you have the wrong mindset, as in any endeavor, specially trading in a market that is very volatile, you might end up that $100 in an instant. And you are lucky that you just lost $40 yet. And that is the real face of crypto trading, again, it's very volatile and there are many entities, like pump and dump group, (maybe you might have heard about them).

I guess you need more experienced, and maybe treat that $100 as most likely you will have to lose it just to get that needed experience. And that's why I think that crypto trading is not for everyone, as it might not be good for you mentally to see losses after losses. But in any case that you really dream of becoming big in trading, then learn from your mistakes and really learn technical analysis.
Losing will always be certain in trading, that even long time traders are still losing on their trades. Most particularly for beginner traders, expect that profiting from their trades is actually harder than it is. That is why never anticipate profits if you know you are still learning in the process, expect losses instead.

However, trading can always be learned in time. For now, focus on learning its technicalities and also learn from the experiences of early traders. And as I’ve always said, experience would always be the best teacher. So trade and lose, that’s fine with beginners.

169  Economy / Economics / Re: Everything is over priced but people keep spending on: March 20, 2024, 05:48:33 PM
The cost of things has gone up so much so that it's glaring. Imagine paying 5-12$ for an average meal you could get before for 3$. The jump cost is extremely high. Cooking a meal at home can cost you the same amount you would spend on eating in a restaurant. Funny enough people still afford all these things without complaining. My anger is that we make money to spend it all into our normal life expenses. It's difficult now to save or invest unless you part of the rich people in society. An average man has to just eat, pay bills, and survive.
The price of commodities are increasing everyday,  and these are the basic things people can't do without on a daily basis,  people will definitely spend money to eat food no matter how expensive it is . Because of the price of things are going up won't stop people from buying what they need. I think in this difficult time it seems people spend money more just because the price of things are very expensive and this won't stop people from affording what they want. One of the best way to survive in this season is for one to as much as possible to to create more sources of income, this will help people to provide for themselves what they want without considering how expensive the price of things are .
That should be the best solution for this high inflation. However, only few people are open to that but majority are still lazy and would even prefer looking for high paying jobs even if they don’t qualify for the requirements, than just adding more sources of income to their current job. In the end, people suffer from extreme poverty.

People work just to survive, that’s the trend now. But isn’t it more desirable if people work to save and invest for their future, travel for leisure and fun, and buying all their needs as well as their wants. However, this is not what happening now. And the only way to change the current situation is to change mindset as well, and get more jobs that suit individual skills and abilities.
170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 18, 2024, 07:57:04 PM
Kyrie is a great player there is no doubt about that but I still think that he is the last shot type of guy and they already have Doncic. I have always said the same thing and will say the same thing for a long time, Doncic doesn't need Kyrie, he needs a big man. Imagine if Doncic went to Denver today, or Jokic came to Dallas it doesn't matter, in that situation both of them playing together, can you imagine what would happen?

Not like we haven't seen active top 10 players playing together, we had Lebron and Wade before, or Durant and Steph before, we had Shaq and Kobe back in the day, so 2 of them top 10 players getting together was always possible, we are just not seeing it there. Doncic needs a star big man, not a ball hog.

It's not that Doncic needs Kyrie but the Dallas needs a player like Kyrie, or at least a star player like Doncic that could help carry the load. About a big man problem that you are talking, they already got one, and it was Gafford who have been playing impressive basketball ever since he was traded to the Dallas. I think they are very much ready for the playoffs, so let's see how they'll perform this time. I have a feeling that Dallas will end up at least in the top 6.
171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Fire Your Best Employee Who Is Addicted To Gambling ? on: March 18, 2024, 07:29:54 PM
If he is not in charge of funds, I have not problem with him. If he is in charge of funds, my mind will not be at rest. I will only make sure I do my work very well like making sure I know everything that is going on in my organization. In this era of online gambling, you can not know who is gambling and who is not gambling but just make sure you protect your company by knowing what workers are doing and making sure  that they do their job correctly.
This is very true. You can’t entrust the progress of your financial company to a certain gambler who is having a gambling addiction. Sooner or later, he will be tempted to steal some of your company funds if he cannot sustain anymore his gambling addiction, irregardless if he is the best employee and your best asset in your company. That is why as early as now, try to call his attention and talk about his gambling habit. If he still do it consistently and even worsen his addiction, then most probably it’s better to fire him from your company for your own peace of mind.
172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rolando Romero-Isaac Cruz to meet on March 30 in Las Vegas. on: March 18, 2024, 12:37:05 PM
Rolly has most of the advantage as we can see in the tale of the tape. However, I like that Isaac Cruz has more experience and the fact that he already fought a great boxer ( Tank Davis) and he survive, I think he has a shot of winning here.

I could also agree with the betting odds making Isaac Cruz the favorite to win. I haven't check on my bookie yet but based on the link below, it was Cruz which is heavily favored to win.

https://www.oddschecker.com/us/boxing-mma/boxing/rolando-romero-v-isaac-cruz

Isaac Cruz -220

1- Phoenix ML..(LOSS)  Giannis is listed as questionable, but even if he play, I still trust the Suns to come up with a win.  Bucks still are inconsistent, but would be better if Giannis will not play so this ML has a good chance.

2-Dallas +4..(WIN) My team will be tested against the defending champion, but I like the points here.

3- Clippers -9.5...(LOSS( It's time for them to bounce back big time as they loss their last 2 home games.

Updated record 38-41 48%)

Was 1-3 yesterday.. The biggest  loss was the Clippers, they can't even with at home, that's 3 consecutive losses at home already.

Moving on..

Warriors -5... Knicks are good but Warriors are playing at home,. I can't bet against this team when they are at home since they needed every week. Still the Knicks are playing undermanned, so I don't trust them as they might not be consistent.

Lakers -8.5... A needed win for the Lakers also, with 25-12 record at home and playing a team that will play back to back, I guess it's all Lakers here.

Indiana -7/ Without Mitchelle, I think Indiana would dominate the Cavaliers like they loss to the Rockets.
174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 17, 2024, 09:47:25 PM
Shams is reporting that Isaiah Thomas is signing a 10-day contract with the Suns. I think this is a great signing because Isaiah has earned another chance in the NBA, the Suns lack a true point guard, and if this goes bad it’s only a 10-day contract. I’m really hoping it works out though because I think Isaiah got a bum deal in Boston and should have been rewarded for his loyalty and sacrifice.

That's good to hear for the man to get another chance to come to the NBA and they should have at least given him a one-year contract but in this state of the NBA right now, he was just a lucky guy to land such a contract while other players are now playing in Asia because no one wants them so far. now he really needs to prove his effectiveness on the court and make other teams interested in getting him as well because he can still be giving them good contributions. Let's just hope the best for him right now and may it be a reason for him to get a good comeback in the NBA.

I hope to see Isaiah Thomas be back on his old form, or at least close to it if he can't anymore. Speaking of the Suns, I can't believe they loss to the Giannis less Bucks. I was thinking they'll get an easy win since Giannis was the best player of the Bucks and they could not without him, but turns out Durant was struggling with 11 points only, not sure but I think it's his lowest output this season.

Anyway, good to see Middleton is back and he played the same as he scored    22 points from an efficient shooting.
175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Marketing Strategies for New Casinos? on: March 17, 2024, 03:18:31 PM
You did not mention if you're running a casino or had a plan to launch your casino, besides the signature campaign having a very active representative in your official thread will gain you a good reputation that will translate to new players.
It depends on his budget as a casino that has a good marketing budget can run a signature campaign even if the casino has not fully launch yet, good awareness will gain more potential gamblers. Additional, their ANN thread would really help to create a community, and as long as there's an active representive, this expense at the early stage will translate to profit.

Another way to market your casino is to give generous referral rewards so active players can recommend your casino to their relatives and friends.
Social media marketing is also highly recommended and having a good rating on review sites counts a lot.

To cut it short, it's a referral system. it's a common marketing strategy and of course it will work. Attractive referral system will gain a lot of users willing to promote the site, because the more sign ups they'll get ,the more money they get. See how much the competitors are giving, increase a bit if you can, as that's how competition works, especially in the marketing side.
176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 17, 2024, 02:40:45 PM
It's been posted on all social media Tyson still attracts a lot of attention, this is an interesting and exciting fight Tyson is still at the peak of his health even though he is already 60 years old but age is always a factor when it comes to boxing, Tyson may be good in the first two rounds but old age will catch with him and the fresh legs of Jake Paul will take over.
Kind of agree with what you have said...

But Tyson's fighting style has always been to finish the fight early, if it drags on to over four rounds then fight is a difficult one and I would like this to finish early which is unlikely as this is a cash making venture for all parties involved!!

Then this being an exhibition match, I really don't think they will be throwing everything they have towards this match as they will need to hold back and just entertain the crowd... otherwise not a match I would really be hyped about as the greatest boxer of the 19th-20th century his passed his prime and the other guy Jake does this for fun which takes away the competitiveness!!

True. This is an exhibition match and Mike Tyson is an old age legend and Jake Paul is not as douchebag as he seems sometimes. They probably won't go on full offense on the game and play their fair game respecting each other with sportsmanship.

It's not that they'd choreograph the fight or plan the result as that would again be humiliation of the sport. They'd be focusing on pulling in technical points and letting the judges decide the winner rather than going full on for a KO.

The words "exhibition fights" is just like an all star game in the NBA where there's no defense and pure offense, or in short the players are not taking it seriously.  This fight is sure a pure exhibition fight, and although we might believe that it will not be scripted but there's a chance it will be since Jake Paul has some power, he could KO an opponent, so I think if he will train hard to win and  beat Mike via KO, it could happen.

Let's just put it this way, when was the last time we saw Mike KO and opponent? If you have an answer, then compare on his current age, and you try to analyze if he can still be as strong as before.
177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: March 17, 2024, 01:53:45 PM

1-Knicks +3 (WIN) -- Line are too good for the Kings, so this could be a trap. Knicks could win here SU or cover the spread if the game is very close, but I have a feeling that Kings will be playing catch up here.

2-Lakers -3.5 ( Loss)- I like these two teams in the playoffs but I like the Lakers more in this spot since they are playing at home with 25-11 record.

3-  Cavaliers -6 (Loss) - Backing the cavaliers consistently again, Mitchell is back so it should be an easy win and cover as well.
Also the last 3 games between the two,  it's cavs with 3-0 record.

Updated record 37-39 49%)

1- Phoenix ML..  Giannis is listed as questionable, but even if he play, I still trust the Suns to come up with a win.  Bucks still are inconsistent, but would be better if Giannis will not play so this ML has a good chance.

2-Dallas +4.. My team will be tested against the defending champion, but I like the points here.

3- Clippers -9.5...It's time for them to bounce back big time as they loss their last 2 home games.
178  Economy / Speculation / Re: Road to 100k? on: March 16, 2024, 10:51:57 PM
However, as everyone in the Bitcoin market now expects Bitcoin to go to this level quickly, it occurs to me that when the majority thinks in one direction, the market reacts in the opposite direction. So in the short term we may see high volatility in the market so that Bitcoin gets a base for its next move.

There is no doubt about that because we can't expect the market to keep going up straight without any dips or corrections because that is now how a volatile market works and we should expect both ups and downs in the prices of different cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin has surprised the whole market with its current run to almost $74k because most people weren't expecting it to even get to $60k before the halving event which is yet to come but it managed to cross $74k which makes it more evident that the market in this cycle will probably go way higher than the previous bull run.
Well, obviously it is. The rapid price increase has made us surprised that there were no major correction prior to that. But we are now starting to see price correction in the market. Bitcoin price has decline slightly and we don’t know as to how far this price decline will stop. However, one thing is certain, bitcoin needs to make a correction in preparation for its new all time high. The market is highly volatile, so expect the unexpected. After all, bull run is fast approaching so most likely bitcoin price will eventually recover prior to that bull run event.
179  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you believe in savings or investment on: March 16, 2024, 05:22:15 PM
I don't feel that it is a mistake when someone prefers to save their salary rather than investing it. Because not everyone wants to invest their money, either because their knowledge is limited to it or for other reasons. So whether someone saves or invests doesn't matter, because both are equally good, but it's even better if both things are done together.
I agree with you, although investing can be profitable, it cannot be done by everyone, of course everyone has their own wishes, including managing their money. I myself don't think that saving is a bad thing, because it is a pretty good way of managing money. Many people save money to fulfill their desires, such as buying their dream property or gadgets and so on, and I think that's not bad, because then they have the will to try.
Meanwhile, for investment, of course we must have knowledge of aspects related to investment so that the investment made does not experience losses. because of course everyone doesn't want to experience financial losses. therefore not everyone invests. It's true that what you're doing might be better if we do it simultaneously, but make sure our finances are stable. Don't force yourself to be able to do both of these things simultaneously if your finances are unstable.
I think not all people aim to invest not because they’re not knowledgeable, but because they knew from the start that there are always high risk of losing from certain investments. There is no assurance of creating good ROI that’s why if they will only lose their money, then why do they have to risk their funds in investing when they can do all the saving and keeping a good amount consistently.

Sometimes, saving and investing do not compliment with each other. That’s why some people chose to stick to only one thing, either to focus on saving or stick to investing even without stable amount of savings.
180  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Joining a Trading Competition to Flex My Skills in the Bull Market on: March 16, 2024, 04:30:40 PM
Competition are indeed a good way to broaden and sharpen one knowledge on what they are competing on, and a trading competition is definitely one way some users will get to put their trading skills to the full test, it's like putting an engine to a full test by placing it under an intense and very high load or pressure, to ascertain or be sure of the how it can take under really heavy usage.

Joining a trading competition is one way to train oneself, increase risk intake level since joining such a competition also means you have to have balls to be able to take losses and move on immediately to the next plan like nothing happened.

But then, one must be ready for whatever outcome before engaging in a trade competition, trading itself is very risky, it's not something newbies should engage themselves in, most especially with large amount of money, except it's an amount they are willing and comfortable to lose, and also understand that in trading competition, there is no guarantee of winning a dime, as there is the possibility that there are other high professionals traders with lots of money that will steal the top spots due to how large their bag is, this is one of the reasons why I myself don't bother myself with such things as participating in trading competitions.
A lot of factors that are actually needed when one decides to join a trading competition. But in general, all you have to gain are just confidence and skills. If you believe you have high potentials to turn your trades into success, with the amount of course you are comfortable to lose, then I really think this is a great idea to nurture your trading passion and skills, not to mention the exceptional amount of profits that will serve as your rewards if you win.

Trading can possibly turn you into an instant millionaire, but it can also mess up your life and ruin all your funds most particularly for beginner traders. But despite all the risks, you can only beat all of them if you are confident enough to flex your trading potentials during a trading competition.
