221  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: USB Hub power mod/fix? on: December 30, 2013, 11:41:28 PM
Well i managed to blow one of my old 5v hubs by pushing 12v through it :S although i now have done it Smiley and its working quite happily off my main PSU

I have found that the positive cable was the one with a line printed on it rather than text - i believe this is standard practice.

Just cut the lead off the old PSU and patch it in to a molex connector.  Hubs either work off 5V or 12V, so just check which you need.  Red is usually 5V and yellow is 12V on a molex cable.  I usually use those freebie molex->fan cables that come with cheap CPU and case fans.

how do i tell which cable to wire up? i know the center of the plug is positive but the cable has 2 black wires :S (i have some black replacement molex and pins that i can use...

Nice - i have just emailed the oricoindonesia@gmail.com address - i hope this is the right one as the website states to use it for international enquiries Smiley

Hi guys, one of my ORICO 10 port USB hubs has just failed - the PSU has given up the ghost - is it possible to cut the plug and power it from a normal molex connection? ive seen it done with some of the cheaper 7 port hubs but i'm not sure whether to do it with this one - i have 10 USB ASIC miners connected to it...

https://blockchain.info/address/13R87ropkDKzDEuVeQoX64kkcLvPWVdTKH

Current balance is  40.78672487 BTC and every transaction for the address (755) was the 24th Dec by the looks of it.

They also stole me!! The thief send all my bitcoins to this address 13R87ropkDKzDEuVeQoX64kkcLvPWVdTKH --> This is the thief address, not mine. I'm very angry, because it was only around 0.002, but it was 1 full month mining! Maybe is a security error on the web, because I'm not the only one with this problem. Please, you would be so kind if you refund me Smiley

0.002 bitcoin in 1 month?
How the hell pays the power bill? Your parents?

That really doesn't make sense to mine for 0.002 bitcoins per month (that's 1.4$!!!).

I'm guessing its only a single GPU? or a hobbiest miner... i started on 1 GPU - maybe thats all theyre mining on - maybe they hope that 0.002 somehow becomes $2000 in the future?
My single AMD GPU at 300 kh/s gives me like 0.001 BTC a day.
It must be nvidia or some old card. Or even CPU.

could have been a typo too Wink

Was it only DOGE that was stolen and all the coins were sent to the same address?

edit: just reread the thread Tongue it was BTC Sad

My guess would be that the DB was accessed and a search was run for any DOGE accounts that had a balance of more than 0 and then to change the address and flag the payout variable (depending on how the script handles that) and then wait for the automated script to check for any payouts...

we need a system in place to blacklist/highlight any addresses that are linked to any coin theft - with the blockchain the coins should be able to be tracked down to an end address.

News and getting some interesting conversation going Wink

I have a couple of projects on the go, i'm going to upload a few pictures of my rigs on t/here tonight too - i have just found/realised that i had 2 5 card motherboards just doing nothing and a few GPUs doing nothing so i now have the capacity for 14 GPUs without actually buying any more hardware (apart from GPUs) - am planning on getting a few 7950s or 7850s depending on what i can find cheap enough Tongue

Tbh the best you can do if you have unused spare cards from the 6x gen upwards is selling them in ebay. SHA-coins are dominated by ASICs, Litecoin is not profitable currently and soon there'll be FPGAs/ASICs for scrypt coins.

Unless you have use for them in key cracking, scientific computing, etc.

Atm i'm running my mining rigs at a good profit on a few multi-scrypt groups - its working quite well lol

i asked my boss to pay me one months salary in BTC early in the year... if he had i'd be retired now... Tongue

I need some help basically keeping it active and getting more users - some of the info is a bit old and needs sorting Smiley i started mining in 2011 - shame i didnt keep all the coins i mined instead of using them Sad
233  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: UK miners on: December 11, 2013, 07:26:09 PM
I'm still looking for UK miners to join the forum - need some helping keeping it updated though - recent events for me have changed my priorities and BTC/mining has taken off again Smiley

loving that site of yours

er and this one of course. all hail hashcows

haha - feel free to register Wink (are you in the UK?)

my 6770 is running on 6144 atm and looking good Smiley i'm also using the automated overclocking and temperature management

Hey 007 thanks for that. It's a 5770!

edit: yay just restarted with intensity at 15 and got my pc back> certainly enough to use for researching recommended thread-concurrency.

edit: hashing at 184k down from 200+ seems a good compromise

many thanks again

Guiminer worked, but made my pc run impossibly slowly. Then it failed on me, but left me with this .bat: ...guiminer-scrypt_win32_binaries_v0.04\cgminer\cgminer.exe" --scrypt -u railzand.1 -p 123 -o stratum+tcp://stratum01.hashco.ws:8888 --gpu-platform 0 -d 0 -w 256 -v 1 -I 18 -g 1 -l 1  --thread-concurrency 3200

The .bat mines great for me, but it has taken me 30 mins just to type thus far, the pc is so slow.

Please would some kindly soul help me tweak my bat?

You'll need to dial back your intensity -I 15 or lower will make it more usable but will reduce your overall hashrate

what card are you running - you might also need to tweak your thread-concurrency
