221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Monero, Win 7 x64, GTX 280 on: March 21, 2018, 04:01:45 PM
I tried monero mining.  I have low configuration laptop, have not good experience, PC got heated and sounding harsh..is it worth mining monero with low conf. laptop???
Honestly I would not recommend mining with any kind of laptop. They are not built for something like that, and in most cases it would lead to overheating.
You can calculate if its profitable to mine with your laptop, you can go to WhatToMine or Coinwarz and calculate it.
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Monero, Win 7 x64, GTX 280 on: March 21, 2018, 11:02:15 AM
OK - reply to myself.

I reinstalled Win 7 from scratch and just installed the lastest driver (342) for the GTX 285.

I got only one ccminer running - the one with CUDA 6.5. OK - I would not call it running - It finds the GTX 285, but tells me that it has 0MB memory installed. After some more diggin I found out that this card can only do compute 1.3 and it's not shown in any compatibility list.

So my guess is: The card is CUDA capable, but does not have the instruction sets to do the cryptonight algorithm?  Or am I completely wrong with this assumption?

I have found on other forum that users had similar problem like your. They say that problem is in drivers for GPU. Try installing pre-340.xx drivers, if that doesn't work try something like 322.xx . Hope this helps.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Multi GPU on: March 21, 2018, 10:48:41 AM
I did set up the right config, but now every time the miner starts my computer is crashing.
Any idea what cause this?

Your whole system crash or just he mining software? If its just software, than you made a mistake in setting mining software. Or it could be software it self, in that case download some different version of it and try again.
If its whole system that crashes, than maybe your PSU is not strong enough. Which PSU you have?
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Multi GPU on: March 20, 2018, 06:46:13 PM
do I need a special miner?

Depending on the coin you want to mine, you will need adequate mining software. So yes, I would say that you need "special" mining program.

I'm using now xmrstack, can I adjust the config for this?

From what I have seen xmr-stacks should recognize your GPU's automatically. They should be marked as "device 0, device 1..." and so on. You can find some basic tutorials how to set up xmr-stacks on Youtube.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think bitmain is secretly mining ETH with ASICs? on: March 19, 2018, 08:41:20 PM
It is not impossible that Bitmain has made ETH ASIC miners and are using them for mining as we speak. But I think that this jumps in hash power isn't because of ETH ASIC miners.
Large number of people wants to mine Bitcoin, but are not in position to mine it because of high difficulty. So where will they turn, of course toward ETH. So because of impossibility to mine Bitcoin and turning to second strongest crypto, hash rate has increase drastically. This is my thoughts only, don't have any kind of evidence.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Multi GPU on: March 19, 2018, 08:28:53 PM
As far as program for combining your GPU's  (hash rate) is concerned, that will be done by mining software. Mining software will automatically recognize your GPU's (if everything is connected the right way). If not, you will need to tweak software a bit. Rest has been explained by MinedTangerine. If you have more questions just ask.
227  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Bitcoin post no risk to the world's Financial instability" on: March 19, 2018, 08:14:39 PM
Of course blockchain and Bitcoin are useful, people have to understand that sooner or later. Also, I think that half of those people that say bad things in media about Bitcoin and crypto, posses some portions of bitcoins. For them, question is not "is something useful", but "is something useful to them, and how to make more money from it" .

The point of Bitcoin was that it shouldn't care what regulators have to say about it. If the price of Bitcoin depends on the opinion that G20, a group of old people that don't even know what Bitcoin is or how to use it, is, then this just means that there's a bunch of idiots holding Bitcoin that need to be smoked from the market allocating these coins into the hands of people that will not dump depending on what some bureaucrats have to say.

I agree with your way of thinking, but large number of people that are dealing with bitcoin doesn't know basic things about it. So they turn to people who are well known in trading industry or some other, and seek their opinion on the matter. For them its important what people from G20 or any other group think, because they can't know what to do by them self. It is sad yes, but I think that is unavoidable.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reviews of Lesser Known Altcoins? on: March 18, 2018, 09:13:14 PM
I guess you could do that, probably there will be someone who would be interested in those kind of coins. But I do not belong into group of those people. Personally I think that would be waste of time, your time primary. Maybe you could review less knows but potentially profitable coins instead? That way you would use your time for something that could help others, and I believe that your audience would be bigger and more satisfied. Those coins over 1000th rank are there for a reason, and that reason is: no one is interested in them.
229  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the price of bitcoin rapidly going down??? on: March 18, 2018, 04:49:34 PM
The rapid decrease of bitcoin price today it is because of some negative issues that affects the operation system of bitcoin, like for example the google that ban crypto advertisements, but we all know the reality of bitcoin, it is something a form of threats by opposite powerful personalities which demand another additional percent of payments. Maybe google ask for another additional contract of payments that allows cryptocurrency business freely introduce and advertise their business developments, that's why today, google temporarily banned crypto ads. Hopefully it will resolved immediately by crypto management.

As far as I know, Google ban all kind of cryptocurrency advertisement because of scammers... at least that was official announcement. And I believe that was the case. But I would not be surprise that for right price someone could advertise even with ban active. But to be honest that added more troubles to already existing ones. There are just too much FUD's around, too much bad news (mostly fake ones). So its no wonder why people started selling their coins. I believe that price will recover when people realize there were nothing to be afraid of. Also price could stagnate for longer time.
230  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the price of bitcoin rapidly going down??? on: March 18, 2018, 03:50:35 PM
Nope its because government are trying to minimize bitcoin which it can affect the prices of the market. Facebook and google are doing the ban as well and that can affect also the prices

I am not sure on which government you mean when you say that "they are trying to minimize bitcoin". Also, what do you mean by "minimizing bitcoin"? If you mean regulation of it, than yes, that can affect price. Also Facebook and Google did not ban crypto, they just stopped advertising crypto, there is big difference between those two. People should learn to read more carefully, that way we would not have so much panic. Readying more carefully would teach people to distinguish fake news from real ones, and what is hidden behind the lines.
231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rothschild and Bitcoin on: March 18, 2018, 06:48:49 AM
We all know that rothschild owns most of the money (Fiats) around the world, This is what I've searched when I do a preliminary research regarding the Rothschild. If this may be true what do you think the rothschild approach to cryptocurrencies? What are they gonna do? or what approach they're going to do in regards with the cryptocurrency.

What do you think? I think this may be a good discussion to discuss or maybe not?  Huh

Many people think that cryptocurrency will free us from the control of the world bank which is owned and controlled by the rotschild family. But did you not think that cryptocurrency is also made by them or if not since they hold most of the worlds dollar it is also inevitable that they own a huge deal of cryptocurrency volume at their fingers. Having a huge and vast resources is really an advantage to them since they can invest anywhere and can own anything this world has to offer. In the end we cannot escape their clutches.

Banks will always be involved in things where money is, why would it be different with cryptocurrencies. But even with kind of money Rothchild have, it would be really hard to manipulate Bitcoin's market. Maybe some small crypto's, but not Bitcoin's. Also dollar is not as strong as it was before, it will not last forever. But I agree that having a lot of resources could be beneficial, but you are wrong to think that money can buy everything. Bitcoin's advantage over other currencies is that its decentralized, and for someone to manipulate it, they need to posses insane amount of coins. Also I don't see why someone would try to destroy Bitcoin, when they can make profit from it.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Project that earns me 2-3% on my investment day-after-day in this bear market on: March 17, 2018, 08:44:44 PM
For quite some time now, I see more and more applications that gives possibility of earning extra money via crypto. And honestly, I don't trust them. I don't say that all of them are bad, but so far I haven't seen one that was good for its user.

So if I understood right, you invest $ to buy this Monetize Coin, which you later on use for creating "campaigns". Tell me exactly what this campaigns are, and how are you able to earn money from them?
233  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Orion Miner - New Manufacturer - Up to 20 TH/s - Real? on: March 17, 2018, 04:24:35 PM
Never heard of them before. Also that information about 7nm chips sounds a bit... well its less likely to be truth. Last time I head about 7nm chips was in some news, where it says that Samsung is making them for some company from China. Maybe Orion somehow got in trade with Samsung? But on their official site its says "our patented next-generation 7 nanometer design", which imply that they made it.
Honestly I would stay away from this company for now.
234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Analysis - In Depth! on: March 17, 2018, 03:08:16 PM
Good work, you were not kidding when you said "in depth" . But honestly I rarely watch videos like your, I believe that most of the time its waste of time.
When I see topics where people discuss what is going on with Bitcoin and try to predict what is going to happen with it in near future, I always remember this topic.
The Random walk theory explains it really good, so if you have time you can check it out : https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/resources/knowledge/trading-investing/what-is-the-random-walk-theory/
This theory could be implied on Bitcoin as well, just have open mind and you'll be fine.  Wink
235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: a lot of FUD, here is some good news on: March 17, 2018, 02:30:26 PM
There are a lot of FUD this days, bad news everywhere. But that doesn't mean there isn't good ones too. If person search and look closely enough s/he will find good news, and you have just proven my point of view.
It is important to keep our spirit up, and not let lies and FUD's discourage us. Like OP said, we were happy when price of Bitcoin jumped for 1000%, we can take fall of price like this and move on.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080 or 1070ti? on: March 17, 2018, 01:47:25 PM
More fps buy gtx 1080.Wait to nvidia 2 series.

Enlightened me please, I thought that memory has great impact (in most cases) on mining efficiency. So tell me, in which way is fps related to mining. As far as I know fps stands for "frame per second" , so why do we need to look on fps when we talk about mining?
In general not the same but it's related since more gpu cores/higher bandwidth gives more fps it does also give higher hashing speeds.

--ypsi
fps could have an impact on mining or just a Game ?, I do not think before, those the GPU has a different fps between 1080 and 1070'ti.

For me it is just very confusing to measure efficiency of mining based on fps that GPU can provide. I understand that if card is stronger we would get more fps, but for me its really not necessary to measure it in fps. I guess its same for other people, and that is why we look on GPU's specifications and not on fps that GPU can provide.

@ypsi, knew that, but still thanks for answering.  Cheesy

It depends which coin you would like to mine. Both of those cards are good, I understand your indecision. If it was me, personally I would chose 1070ti. Its cheaper and its better in mining ETH. I had 1070ti on my computer, and have done some mining with it. I can say that i was satisfied with its performance. This is what I would recommend, so go for 1070ti.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you not get mad if I say Bitcoin is the multi-billion dollar pump and dump? on: March 16, 2018, 06:01:04 PM
The technology is controlled by the community but not the price. The price belongs to someone else. Whoever dictates the price of bitcoin follows rules, analysis, timing, and coordination.
To be protected, before saying to the moon, we must learn to swim along with the whales.

You are wrong, technology is not controlled by community. Big companies and certain people decide what is available for common people like us, and what is for companies and people at the top. We all know that certain technology could not be bought. But Bitcoin is not like other technology, it belongs to all of us.
As for its price, community can "control" the price, but also can whales who posses large number of Bitcoins. And no one can "dictate" price of Bitcoin, and there are no rules when it comes to trading. Analysis can help, and so could other things that you mention. But no one can predict for certain what is coming next. Its all speculations.
240  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think about this chart? on: March 16, 2018, 02:17:18 PM
You should be okay, everything will be good. Bad news is coming out every week in the last 3 months and will continue to come out again. We should to improve this situation and increase our profit, because nothing growing in these days, if we HODL coins.

I think I understand what you wanted to say, despite your bad Englesh.

Most of people think that they can become rich simply by holding their coins, and that was possible before. But now when the hype is gone, holding coins can only bring the price down. If transactions are not constant, price will start falling. And because of that, people will slowly lose their interest in bitcoin.

Holders should understand this, and they should start using some portion of their coins. Because if we continue like this, we will lose even more money... instead of earning it.
