if you live in US you may want to read this first:
http://www.wired.com/wiredenterprise/2013/12/casascius/

Casascius coins were fine when BTC was worth $5 each, but nowadays Casascius coins don't look cool at all. They look so plain, like how a dull penny looks, but that's because they're made out of Copper plating or something.

So yes if you want to make a Litecoin, make it look a lot nicer than Lealana coins, make it look a lot nicer than this:

You completely got my point! Huh
Have you at least opened the link and READ THE TITLE?

222  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2013-12-11] Bitrated: You Can No Longer Say Bitcoin Has No Consumer Protection on: December 12, 2013, 06:30:56 PM
The idea is good but it is still based on trust to unknown 3rd party.
How do you know the buyer is not conspiring with the arbitrator, wait for the delivery and subsequently leave with the BTCs?
Even if they implement a feedback system it will require trust.

Quote
1. Suppose that Alice wants to send money to Bob through escrow. To start off, Alice goes to the Bitrated website and goes to “Browse arbitrators”. She then selects an escrow agent (say, Trent) and clicks “Start transaction”.
...
Finally, Trent himself has no opportunity to run away with the funds. In theory, Trent can conspire with Alice to split the funds fifty-fifty and leave Bob with nothing, but such a situation would require two of the three parties involved to be dishonest, rather than only one.
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will I be able to use Bitcoins at the mall in 2014??? on: December 12, 2013, 05:51:22 PM
And btw

Once one store in the mall is accepting them the other stores will start and if that happens we could see Apple start accepting bitcoins via the apple shops in early 2014 so please support please send and email to brookstone

How can you expect Apple to accept BTC if they ban applications from ITunes, and why are you people so obsesses with Apple anyway!
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Long term bitcoin unit on: December 12, 2013, 05:49:47 PM
That's a good point but at the same time I think that if BTC will ever reach "facebook popularity" somebody will have to look at the transaction numbers and find a solution (be it off blockchain or whatever other method) and there are many many other points like global legislation, security, stupid-proof wallets, etc.
We are still in early days and probably we won't see this happening in our lifetime Smiley
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Fibonacci Scrypt ASIC Litecoin Miners - News and Questions on: December 12, 2013, 05:46:27 PM
Will you use any escrow service initially to "legitimate" your business?
Will you send a few test machines to well known people in the forum?
If I understood correctly, initially you will sell but rent and host the ASICs, do you already have an idea of how many gh/s will you be able to put online on the first month after release?
Thanks

A very few hoarders with many coins contribute to the volatility: they contribute to the volatility because they don't actually trade / spend:
Are we supposed to spend bitcoin or can we also use it for saving? I thought that the point of bitcoin, the currency, was also to be free.
Do you live your life spending everything you earn?
And how do you know an address/es is owner by a single person and not a society / group?

Personally, at this stage I don't care if bitcoin is more or less volatile as I see my money "lost" anyway, consider it's an highly speculative new technology

Note: bitcoin is the currency and Bitcoin is the network, Subject is misspelled twice!
229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: if you want btc to succeed start dumping your iDevices/Apple on: December 12, 2013, 03:24:43 PM

I never said I was focusing on brand. I just asked for suggestions for alternatives to iPhones.

before you ask for a suggestion you need to understand what you need/want
I guess any mobile can replace it to make a call..

231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal says (David Marcus): Bitcoin is good on: December 10, 2013, 03:58:35 PM
We all start to love it?

no, but we will all love the price rise.
he played safe, "I like it, I have it, you know?"
paypal is outdated anyway, it's only useful to scam on ebay as a buyer.

234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why didn't you sell? on: December 09, 2013, 04:03:42 PM
I'm just saying you can gain EVEN MORE by just using your common sense to take advantage of volatility (opportunities).

There is always a chance your "common sense" will turn as a disadvantage one of these days, don't you think?
Why don't you create a thread and show us your long/short and we see, it's so easy to predict what just happened 10 minutes ago.

My common sense says that we are about to crash for a few weeks now, not because of this I sold any of my coins

Price can't go to $50 unless a catastrophic news, period.

they have been pumping and dumping and making millions from that alone. when they feel the market can't bear more, why not dump and abandon all? what does it matter to those who have made a hundred million already?

Please provide some facts.

PPs. But I realise that the IP is my own and the only way this could happen is if someone has spoofed my IP somehow. I doubt by pc is compromised as I have a good Firewall & Antivirus.

this doesn't make any sense, as most of this post

Guys sorry for the patronizing tone but bitcoin is not a get-rich-quick scheme. You should have bought litecoins one month ago (and sold two days ago) if that was your intention.

How quick? 2 bubbles in a year I consider it quick enough
240  Economy / Speculation / Re: Noobs, this is your best exit strategy. Read up on: November 27, 2013, 07:37:55 PM
This is so wrong, if you want to exit go fiat or alt, dont spend money on ASIC as you will never roi at current hype
