221  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and happiness. on: June 16, 2021, 10:00:02 PM
There is a popular opinion in the locale that "A man who has money doesn't easily get angry or offended, lol". This statement goes the other way as well, that "A man who doesn't have money is easily offended by everything and everyone".

I have put this statement on analysis a lot in mind, trying to watch my mood and correlate my happiness with the amount of money I have each time. Everytime it seems like i have overspent and almost becoming broke, there is a feeling of irritation and sadness that comes with it. Also when i get some credit alerts, there is an associated joy.

I know it is not proper to tie your happiness to finance, but i did some research into the subject and found a study that was conducted with the result that happiness increases with the amount of money one makes up until a point  where there is no greater degree of happiness from making money, but unhappiness if ones income drops beneath that range.

(See study here - https://www.cnbc.com/2017/11/20/how-much-money-you-need-to-be-happy-according-to-wealth-experts.html)

What is your opinion on the subject of "money & happiness"?

Money can easily be tied to happiness and is only natural since most of the things in this world are driven by money. Heck, even lovelife can be a piece of cake with money. But honestly though, there is no better feeling in the world than being satisfied by with what you have(not in an unproductive way obviously). That freedom from the anxiety of being on top of others or maintaining your spot on the social hierarchy or status. That is why I am so amazed by keanu reeves; by the way he loves his life simply yet full of happiness and satisfaction.
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have concluded that all governments together can't stop bitcoin on: June 16, 2021, 08:54:20 PM
I get to be thinking what about all the government of the world unite and decide to stop bitcoin and cryptocurrency ?  Grin

I have wondered if this is possible to happen despite bitcoin being decentralized. Within me, I don't think that is no more possible because bitcoin is now unstoppable. Just like water is to the fish, bitcoin is the light of the earth.

What do you say yourself ?

Look man, you need to understand that this world that we lived in has been doing fine even before the immergence of bitcoins or any altcoin on that matter. Even if we say that people who have tried it have gotten addicted to it like a smoker to his cigarettes, if you cut off the supply, even with unbearable withdrawals, the person gets over them and gets to live a life free of smoking. The same goes with this industry. If the leaders of every country in this world decides to unite for the first time and totally brand crypto currencies as illegal, then we would be forced to stop. Besides, just like how they promote nicotine gums and allow vaping to aide people that stopped smoking, they also have the choice to make an alternative to crypto currencies that we use having the same feel but programmed to be fully centralised and controllable.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are all altcoins dependent on Bitcoin? on: June 16, 2021, 06:38:33 PM
Most of the time, yes. I cannot say all since I never looked at every single coin in this industry yet nor do I plan to, but what I can say is that in all my years in this industry since 2016, I have never seen any alternative coin that has maintained or increased its price whenever bitcoin goes through a correction. And of course, the same thing goes whenever bitcoin pumps. There can be many reasons for this but the best reason I can think of is because most of the time, the medium being used in trading any alternative coin is bitcoin. In fact, it is very unlikely for you to find any exchange that doesn't have a btc to any altcoin market option.
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Question - Recurring Purchases on: June 15, 2021, 05:58:49 PM
Since you are asking this question in such a manner, I get the feeling that you are still quite new to this industry. If so, then I think you would be better off investing on those coins you have mentioned instead(except dogecoin) than investing on ICOs or IEOs. Because these are quite risky given your situation. Also, having such amount to invest would be too small it would be deducted a couple of time due to various platforms being used. It just isn't enough. That's a good thing though since this gives way to an opportunity for you to experience more from this industry before you start investing on ICOs and IEOs. Good luck man.
225  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anti-Vax Nurse's Attempt To Prove COVID Vaccines Make People Magnetic Backfires on: June 15, 2021, 04:03:00 PM
Oh my lord! This is freaking hilarious!  Grin Grin How does the brain of this woman even work? lol. How did she even become a nurse in the first place? Wow, several years of time and money investments for a degree gone to waste. This just goes to show how conspiracy theories can affect even the smartest people when influenced by the right person. Just as how flat earthers are. Damn, I cannot even imagine how she can endure such huge humiliation. If it were me, I'd be moving into my parents basement instead and live the rest of my life there without showing my face to anyone anymore.

-Jokes aside though, I really feel bad for people like this.
226  Economy / Economics / Re: Twitter ban, koo opens up. How will this play in Nigeriann business environment on: June 15, 2021, 03:22:08 PM
When things go as far as banning social media sites that gives power to freedom of speech, you just know that something isn't right. No matter the reason this should never be done. Not unless it gives a sense of state emergency level threat. But with such petty reasons? I do not think that banning twitter is worth all the unfavorable after effects that may emerge out of this decision. Twitter is the best way to promote almost anything and losing this means of advertising will be very detrimental for businesses. Not to mention the bad image that the leaders of Nigeria is showing. What they are doing right now is just the same as looking for a gun to shoot themselves. They should really start thinking this through more thoroughly.
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To diversify or not to diversify... on: June 15, 2021, 02:54:43 PM
Considering that you are investing funds that you can afford to lose, then it would be a great strategy to diversify your investments. Just stick to well established coin though, at least for now since the market isn't looking that good yet so altcoins that are still new might not get the chance to pump that much and may even dump. The altcoins that I currently am invested in are poladot, cardano, solana, chainlink and uniswap. Although ethereum looks quite good right now, I want better profits so I choose these altcoins. Good luck man.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Musk is going to hurt the Crypto Industry, sign this petition on: June 14, 2021, 05:10:00 PM
Well, looks like what you said happened already and the petition never really did anything to orevent stupid people from losing money. What's worse is that not only did Elon Musk fcked up dogecoin, he also fcked up bitcoin with his trolling. That bastard whom I used to idolize turned this whol industry to a joke. And even with all these happening in front of the public, most people still choose to give credibility or weight to his tweets. The direction this industry is heading is really scary.
229  Economy / Economics / Re: USA dollar and USA economy are Not Same on: June 14, 2021, 04:20:19 PM
Just a while ago I saw a post highlighting how billionaires pay less taxes than the middle class people, which means that as time goes by, the people who realize how one sided biden is, is steadily increasing. Sooner or later as people suffer there will be some who would raise complaints and rallies or whatever, you name it, may arise. Which is why I believe thay this decision of Biden should be greatly reviewed because lots of lives are being affected and this is no joke. Specially at this moment when everyone are still suffering due to the economical devastations that were brought about by the covid-19 pandemic.
230  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Let's stop nonsense about government want Control on: June 14, 2021, 03:54:24 PM
Ummm.. nope. The way I see it, the government does want control. Because with control comes power and wealth becomes easier to obtain. Although w am not that into conspiracy theories, I can easily figure out that control over the masses is a goal of people who are capable enough. Just so that they can gainore than what they already have and get privileges that an ordinary person like most of us can only dream of. Control, power, and money are very important to the people on top.
231  Economy / Speculation / Re: So what's causing the current rise? on: June 14, 2021, 03:00:48 PM
It may be a coincidence but just a few moments after Elon Musk said something again, the price went up quite a lot. But I really am not sure whether this is just because of his influence alone or because of some ofher good news like that famous dj selling some property and accepting bitcoins or Ethereum as payment. Or maybe, the bears had enough of accumulating and wants to see some profits now and so bulls have regained the upper hand.
232  Economy / Economics / Re: We exited the bear market earler than expected on: June 11, 2021, 08:03:46 PM
Well, it seems like you have made a claim such as "exiting the bear market" earlier than expected, lol. But hey, to your aid, no one would've expected Elon Musk to mess things up in this industry again and thay after all thay has hapoened with dogecoin, there are still people gullible enough to believe all the crap that Elon Musk tweets. Right now, I even think that we haven't seen the bottom yet, so you better be careful with your investments because I think this week will be bloody.
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Have you given up on airdrop? on: June 11, 2021, 06:12:03 PM
Airdrop nowadays aren't really that much worthy of uour efforts since most of the airdrops that circle around in the internet are either scams or airdrops that doesn't pay that much. Long gone are the times thay airdrops give thrills because they may reach huge value in the next few months, those things are now history. So instead of putting effort on airdrops, I advise you to put your efforts in social media campaigns. A bit more work but better rewards than airdrops.
234  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Gains by Country (from Chainanalysis) on: June 11, 2021, 05:14:31 PM
And here I thought china had the biggest gains when it comes to all crypto currencies including bitcoin. Turns out that the united states of America really is the one who had enjoyed so much gains in this industry despite the several regulations that were against any cryptocurrency. There was even a time back then when projects that were still starting up never accepted investors from the US. Thus just goes to show that no matter how you restrict the people, they will find ways to do things that they want.
235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jack FOMOs on Bitcoin on: June 11, 2021, 02:56:56 PM
I just wish that everyone would be mature enough to not press buy or sell buttons just because of a few tweets. I am so sick of having the need to watch for latest tweets than watch latest news. My views though on the price of bitcoin, is negative. I personally think that this will be the worst week for this industry. It will be bloody. I already moved to usdt at the peak and waiting for probably the best crypto sale of the year. Still though, if it goes the other way it will be great I'll just ride with the pump then.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Graph GRT - the Google of blockchain - your thoughts on: June 10, 2021, 06:50:11 PM
I gotta say, despite not hearing about this coin, I think that the concept behind it is quite good. I would rather invest on coins like this one than on useless memecoins that have are completely useless and doesn't solve problems in this industry. The hype they have are temporary and will fade as fast as it came. But coins like this one, as it get developed more will only gain more importance thus making it a valuable asset. I'll have to check the community of this coin out. Thanks for sharing this info.
237  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think COVID19 is a scam? on: June 10, 2021, 05:20:52 PM
Believe me, the COVID-19 threat is real. Several close friends of mine are died while some are still fighting it today. Had it not been for the strictness of my family to abide by the protocol, I may have been one of them and may have dragged my whole family down with me. But still, we cannot deny that it is slightly being oversold to gain more control over people and get away with assulting regular people. At this time, I really am scared not just for myself but also for my loved ones not knowing who to trust and what to believe. I wish everything will go back to normal soon Sad
238  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Elon is manipulating the market? on: June 10, 2021, 02:11:41 PM
Everything about this guy isn't credible anymore. I used to be so amazed by him and his achievements back then but as I get to know more about him, turns out that most of the things he boasts about aren't even his to begin with. And just to make things worse, he started talking about dogecoin. And at that point, I totally lost interest in everything about him. Shilling a useless memecoin all of a sudden when there are dozens of amazing coins out there that have great concepts and potential to grow and help solve problems both in this industry and on the real world, just made me understand even further that this guy is really not worthy of my admiration. And I hope a lot realizes this soon and stop taking his words seriously.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Don't Want To Hear Anybody Crying When BTC Will Reach 1M Per Coin! on: June 10, 2021, 01:28:59 PM
I get what you are saying but the thing is, not everyone who doesn't buy are dumb. Most are strategically placing buy and sell orders to increase their bags. Some are just waiting patiently based on their own TAs to gain as much as they can despite the situation of the market whether bearish or bullish. Everyone has their reasons for everything they do just as how you have your own reasons in persuading people to buy. The important thing is that buying and selling bitcoin is contributing a lot to making worldwide adoption of Bitcoin and altcoins become faster because at the end of the day, publicity good or bad is still publicity.
240  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk forum mobile app on: June 10, 2021, 12:37:13 PM
I strongly disagree. If this does happen, then we can be sure that a lot of people would be taking advantage in making variations of the app and use it as a medium to steal sensitive information from the user or phishing. This will then result in tarnishing the name of the forum as a whole specially in the eyes of the newcomers. Besides, why shouldnthe forum even bother in making such an app when everything already is good as it is and works fine on desktops and smartphones? I just don't get the idea.
