2201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XLM Burn Increased Coin’s Centralization, Argues Charlie Lee on: November 07, 2019, 05:11:16 PM
After the recent announcement that the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) had burned roughly 55 Billion XLM, Charlie Lee took to Twitter to point out that based on the math, the SDF had actually increased their control of the coin’s supply by about 8%. This observation was met with some push-back from the XLM community, including attacks on Lee himself.

It makes total sense. When you burn total supply you should also burn same part of tokens you got fro free. Same problems were at some ICOs few years ago. Planed was that developers got like 20% of all tokens and then they burned what was not sold in crowdfunding and then developers share grow for over 50% of tokens.  With tokens that dont matter if developers then dont dump them, but with stellar maybe matters. But I dont know much how stellar consensus works. Reducing number of coins always empower holders.
2202  Economy / Economics / Re: China is able to do 50%+1% attack. It means, China dominating the crypto's. Or? on: November 07, 2019, 04:44:44 PM
China is able to do 50%+1% attack. It means, China dominating the crypto's. Or?

Google has quantum supremacy.

What are you thinking?

Who is China?  The biggest country? I dont think China have one single miner. But lest say tomorrow China buys tons of ASIC miners. What they will do then? Cheat people out of their Bitcoins. They will buy grain from someone and pay with Bitcoin and then revers transactions back? They will be thefts? That is what you believe China is? A country with 4000 years tradition will now suddenly start stealing peoples money? If Chian want to rob people they can do it without Bitcoin mining farms. They can steal any way they want.

Goggle have, I dont even know, a 40 qubit computer? 40 qubit computer cant break Bitcoin algorithm. You need 267 qubit computer for that. I dont understand why is that so hard to understand for some. It wil take at least 10 years that Bitcoin will be forced to just in case change algo.
2203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: November 07, 2019, 04:21:10 PM
I know some were saying it but I never belied them. How is possible that such catastrophe happened? Why is CEO not doing anything. I urged for intervention few months ago when price was higher then now. Why no one gets sacked for poor job done? With this tempo DASH will be out of top30 by end of year.

WAVES Sasha Ivanov keeps peoples funds

With so many decentralised crypto currencies, why people still get involved in currencies where they need to trust third party?  Why they simply dont use fiat or paypal? For sure is better to trust some 10-100 years old company then one random guy from internet.
2205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Inflation on: November 05, 2019, 09:48:57 PM
8/8. Higher inflation (but not too high) will make Bitcoin even more accessible to people. But it'll diminish Store of Value use case. Bitcoin won't support this. But no worry, there's @bitflate with 7% inflation.

Unless 10-20 years from time Bitcoin developers will realise the need tail emission. And all will be fine. Of course some might still stay at that often 51% attacked chain. But that is their problem.
2206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Creation of a stable coin on: November 05, 2019, 09:03:18 PM
Can anyone direct me or tell me the steps one would go to create a asset backed stable coin?  We know about crypto very well but when it comes to the creation of a stable coin, we are a bit lost.

Do you create the tokens then send it to a smart contract?   How does that part work?

Any help would be greatly apprenticed

You issue fresh tokens when someone deposit fiat. When they withdraw fiat you burn tokens. Is simple. You just need to create token that you can keep issue. Mostly people crate  tokens with limited supply.
2207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm planning to invest in Tron Coin on: November 05, 2019, 08:35:12 PM
Recently there are so many projects are launching under Tron platform and more will be in future like telegram projects are planned .

How does the bittorent project doing?  I heard is getting delisted form one exchange to another. You think with other "projects" will be better?   When will the Sun scammer have lunch with Buffet?
2208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: November 05, 2019, 05:30:12 PM
Price was $0.9 and now is $1.2. That is over 30% increase in less then a week. And Bitcoin increased only few % in that time.   This is reason why new coins are so popular. They are so volatile and can make you rich or poor in a week.
2209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: there are still many who invest in cryptocurrency? on: November 05, 2019, 02:13:08 AM
There are still many who invest in cryptocurrency?

There are several tens millions wallets that belongs to someone. You can call them investors or simply owners. If value of wallets changes that dont mean that number of owners change. They still own those wallets. Once number of wallets will start decreasing that will be alarming.
2210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coins that have their own Dex (Bitshares, Komodo, ?) on: November 04, 2019, 07:42:35 PM
Coins that have their own Dex

All asset platforms should have DEX. But that DEx is only for their asset. Like Etehreum have DEX for their tokens. XCP counterparty have DEX for their tokens. Same as you notices in Waves and Bitshares. DEX should be and is part of their wallet.

But real DEX is when exchange also includes fiat. When exchange includes different blockhains that have technically little in common.  BisQ is real DEX.
2211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether Backing Problem on: November 04, 2019, 06:33:53 PM
As claimed by tether.to, every USDT is backed by traditional currency and cash equivalents and, from time to time, may include other assets and receivables from loans made by Tether to third parties, which may include affiliated entities.(Quoted from tether.io website).

So basically with every passing year the value of USDT is decreasing due to the inflation caused and ending in decreasing the buying power of USDT. So i am not going to invest or convert my Bitcoin into USDT which is backed by FIAT.

Bitcoin is increasing with respect to USDT but it has to cater for inflation as well so a holder can be in profit. We need USD/BTC pair not USDT/BTC pair. Why should one trader rely on a third party token when he can trade directly the USD.

Well fiat backing of tether is not only problem that tether backing have. Most important problem is if there is enough tether. You cant be sure but you need to believe third party. Blockchain asset is perfect and simple for digital asset. When it come to real world asset like gold, land money or whatever it come to the problem. You need to trust third party that really hold that real world asset, to actually give it to you when you want.   What happens if they bankrupt?  Court will take all that asset away. Blockahian consensus will be totally  powerless. With digital asset there is no law that can go beyond blockchain consensus. It cant be stopped.

I have a feeling 1.5 xmr holders are gonna be classified as something a little bigger than a paedocypris in the next 5 years in the Monero ecosystem.

Paedocypris used to be 0.1 XMR, but since price of Monero went so cheap it moved to 1.5 XMR after last update Tongue   Dont worry it will be updated on time. I hope one day there will be at least 100 Monero fish species on this list.

BONUS: Suggest the new poll!

When will be the new ATH?

Choices:
Early 2020
Late 2020
Early 2021
Late 2021
2022
2023
2024
Never

But what does ATH means here. A moment when price will reach over old ATH of 20k and make new all time high, or ATH of the new bitcoin cycle?  I voted 2022 for the second. But I believe that Bitcoin will reach $20k much earlier then that.

...  China is a nation that is ruled by dictatorship and gangrapes prisoners and harvest their organs and burn alive the opposers of the regime and all the crazy horribly bad Hitler level and even worse stuff they do, ...

I dont know where you learned this but is very wrong. China is peoples republic. Ruled by its citizens. It is not a dictatorship. How much capital have influence on government I have no ideas. But for sure much less then in most other countries.

Blockchain and its cryptography and economics is important technology and sciences that have to be studied. Not only in China but also as we see lately in France and I am sure in other part of world.
2216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Leaked information. Are we really safe at all? on: November 03, 2019, 05:01:31 PM
It can happen everywhere. That is why is important you dont just throw your information's on everything. KYC only where you must. Register only where you must. Always use fresh passwords.
It depends if the site is reputable but at least it's just the emails. FYI, Bitmex doesn't ask for KYC, you know. And for the passwords, it's quite easy to handle that with a password manager.

I am talking in general. Do not just throw any of your information's everywhere. Not for some game bonus or anything so stupid. Be responsible and give your information out really if you must. Problem is that most people now think giving away his personal information's is normal. That George Orwell 1984 is totally normal. I find this a huge problem.
2217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TOP25/50 COINS on: November 03, 2019, 04:31:52 PM
Is it only safe to play with top50 coins?
Are you also looking at coins which are not listed on CMc?
Thank you!

Marketcap of coins dont have much meaning since crypto coins have very differently made and have different purpose.  Safe to play coins are those that have some use case now or in future. And are different then Bitcoin. Bitcoin will eat all its forks and clones eventually.
2218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptonization Fail ? on: November 03, 2019, 04:02:34 PM
Are all crypto projects listed on coinmarketcap used for speculation purposes only ?

Most coins and tokens that are listed on coinmarketcap have little in common. You cant compare them since are made differently and for different purpose. Only thing to speculate is their price. Coins and tokens are there to be used. Well not all but some. Those that cant be used or will not be used have no purpose and are useless and worth zero. The rest have some value and that value is speculative.

China is creating a gold backed crypto?  That's news to me.  I thought the world was essentially done with the gold standard.  Why would they bother with some strange hybrid like that?

They need a Plan B for people that will say CNY is just useless fiat just like USD. It is good to always have Plan B.

Monero (XMR) futures go live on Dubai-based exchange
- Dubai-based crypto exchange has listed Monero futures as of 31 October.
- XMR futures product is the first of its kind to be traded out in the middle eastern region.

It is strange that a country like Dubai accepts Monero and they have a regulated exchange, promising development and do these exchanges have any regional restrictions to trade.

Why would be for Dubai strange, that exchanges would be allowed trade cryptocurrencies?

I think he means that the United Arab Emirates is not known for its love of freedom for its subjects.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_in_the_United_Arab_Emirates

What does a perfect digital money have with human rights? Money is medium of exchange to buy and sell things. And stores in Dubai are fully stacked.
They also sell most expensive parfume https://www.barrons.com/articles/worlds-most-expensive-perfume-available-for-us-1-3-million-01552944258

Just stack piconeros and all will be fine.
