2201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 7 cards on one board on: August 24, 2013, 06:23:18 PM
That board should be good for 6 single chip GPUs.

I have a MSI Z77-GD65 that will only work with 6 cards.

I also have an MSI Z77 MPower and an MSI Big Bang Xpower X58 that both run 7 7970s.

ok cool, wow 7 cards? i was thinking i'd use the 7th slot for a wifi card, wanna avoid cable as much as possible.

mind posting pics of your build? how are you dealing with power? i'm thinking of getting http://www.citilink.ru/catalog/parts/powersupply/668120/ to power 6 7950s, is it enough or should i split the power between two smaller ones?

Take a look at this post for an idea of how most of my rigs are set up.

http://worldcoinforum.org/topic/116-post-pictures-of-your-worldcoin-mining-rigs-in-here/?p=1821

6 cards is easy to set up, 7 is more of a bitch. You could always try for 7 and use a USB WiFi adapter instead of PCI-e. Some boards will disable a PCI-e port when 6 ports are in use, so you may have to use a USB adapter anyways.

For the power supply, I would avoid that one or anything else Thermaltake. Personally I only use Seasonic (Silverstone 1500w in picture died powering 5 7950s and Silverstone won't honour the warranty) , you simply can't get any better than Seasonic units. Splitting smaller PSUs is the way to go.

Coolermaster has started using Seasonic to make their new V series power supplies. They are TOP notch, and based on Seasonic's latest KM3 platform. They are rated Gold, but are actually Platinum. I don;t know about Russia, but right now you can pick up a V1000 for 160$ after mail in rebate which is a smoking hot deal for that kind of quality.

Coolermaster (Seasonic) V1000 review: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=344

For power, I've run 30A 240v circuits where I need. SOOOO much better than running power supplies on 120v.

Here's what my power supply distributions look like:

1x: Seasonic X1250w + 1x: Corsair CX 430 powering 6x 7970

1x: Seasonic Platinum 1000W + 1x: Seasonic X850 powering 7x 7970

2x: Coolermaster V1000 powering 7x 7950

1x: Seasonic X1250: 5x 7970

1x: Seasonic X1250: 4x 7970 + 1x 3930k for Primecoin

Plus I have a spare Seasonic X1250 for another rig that I'll be building eventually.

My 7950s average 680KH/s while pulling 300w @ 1.09v

My 7970s average 740KH/s while pulling 220w-250w @ 1v-1.1v.

If you're using powered risers, only power them with the primary PSU, same goes for motherboards with an extra PCI-e power connecter.

Vork, forgot to come back to this thread. I'll buy it for you right now if you'd like.
2206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] Seems GPU mining is getting difficult on: August 24, 2013, 01:25:12 AM
What kills you is that your efficiency is terrible. You're getting 900kh/s out of your two cards using 700w, while a single 7970 can easily run 740kh/s using only 220w-250w. Much easier to mine with those kinds of numbers.

These are wonderful... new colors from AM I suppose

I love them - I looked at it as they were "blue light special" discounted units!

Pretty nice! Are all the coupon units that will be shipped out blue? Def. would like mine to be. Smiley

I purchased 6 USB erupters at the original 2BTC price. Am I eligible for any coupons to buy more?

Yes. Talk to your reseller.

Thanks, will have to send cosmo a PM. Smiley

Considering October delivery, is it still worth it for me to place an order today for a Jupiter or Saturn? Will I at the very least see ROI?
2213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] WTB--Saints Row IV (Steam GAME) on: August 21, 2013, 01:18:06 AM
If no one comes through before I get home (tomorrow) I'll hook you up with the pre-order.
2214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HELP! Talk me out of buying more GPUs!!! on: August 16, 2013, 07:50:34 PM
I'd say skip the 6 series and get some 7 series cards.

I've got 24 7970s and 7 7950s, and I sill find myself looking for deals on local classifieds for more. I'm addicted.
2215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Strange mining rig issue on: August 13, 2013, 05:48:55 AM
Gigabyte 7950 flashed to F43 BIOS?

No, Sapphire Vapor-X and Dual-X, not flashed.

Confirm it's actually POSTing with a dvi or display port cable. If it is, I suspect your hdmi cable is faulty.

Awesome news, and great work! Very sensible changes which will help WDC come along.

Will update my client next time I'm home.

2218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: August 07, 2013, 12:54:13 AM
Hi, I was all in for the past few days to try 256 difficulty but something just occurred to me.

It doesnt matter if we go 32, 512 or 1024 for the global profit, if someone is about to find a block he will do it regardless of the share diff. Changing share diff wont increase the pool profit imo.

We can still speculate if the 512 is making old rigs fall behind and the 7xxx rigs may be indeed chewing income from those rigs, but the only way to know for sure would be to compare % of reject Mhash or daily payouts per acceppted average Mhash.

Your missing the entire purpose of share difficulty. If you do not submit a share, before the block is found, you do not get paid. That is what people are saying about share diff. It may not affect the pools profit, as a whole, but it will affect individual profit of the members, with in the pool. Again, this is why VARDIFF exists, to begin with. Those with the cards that can submit the shares fast enough, for those 20 or 30 second block coins, get a higher diff, with shares that carry more weight in the payout, because they submit shares less often, slower cards, get lower share diff, that pay less, because shares are submitted more often. Everybody wins

Bingo.

I have to agree. Let's try 256 for a day or two. If that costs you more in server bandwidth, feel free to bump up the fee a little during the testing period.
2220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: August 06, 2013, 03:29:33 AM
Are you sure about that? I know that 16x 32dif shares will pay out the same as 1x 512dif share, but when we hit those blocks that simply fly by without any solved shares wouldn't it be better to get a few 32dif shares in? Or is it simply about solving blocks at that point making shares irrelevant?

Sorry if this has been discussed already, I haven't had time to read this entire thread.

If blocks come frequently, that doesn't make high difficulty shares any less likelier.

It increases your reject rate, but it does so equally for high difficulty shares and low difficulty shares.

Ah, right. That makes sense. I was thinking that if I managed to submit a 32 dif share, the next person's 32 dif share might be the block solver whereas with 512 dif shares neither of us would've managed to submit a share. Sorry about the misunderstanding.
