As the system is now, everything works through the internet. Debit cards, VISA, etc, all rely on the internet. You'd need to have cash or beaver pelts.

so we need some physical bitcoin?

No, bitcoin would have to work on a different type of network if the internet somehow died forever.

is there any project about that? i am interested about to learn

I do think there is already some type of infrastructure in place, but I don't know any specifics. I'm sure someone more informed will post soon enough.

Not upset, its just a shame he ruined resale value of so many cards.

If you're planning on actually using the cards, the mod is a good thing. Temps are a few degrees lower, and the fan noise when pushed is much less irritating. I'm pretty sure the brackets could be found for very cheap either way. Only 6 of the cards have the cut bracket.

I wish you didn't fuck up the backplate...
lol why are you so upset? he can do what he wants with his stuff and he's selling it as is.

OP, do you know if you can xfire a 290 and a 290x? i have a 290x but wondering if i'm able to xfire a few more 290s into the mix... let me know

Yes you can, games will run perfectly but the 290x will be run as a 290 while crossfired.
1388  Other / Off-topic / Re: What YouTube video are you watching now? on: March 04, 2015, 06:19:07 AM

I started watching this thinking it was going to be lame and ended up laughing so loud (at the last guys reaction) that my wife asked me "wtf going on?" from downstairs.  Grin Cry Grin

I actually woke my GF up when I burst out laughing at the last guy's reaction.

Why would you use oil as the liquid though? Why not water? It's free, and has better heat capacitance.

It could be as easy as the fact that the units don't exist.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

No. GPU mining is dead.

thread has nothing to do with evolution theory.

what you can learn here from badecker is a (good) use of rhetoric to persuade people about x (x seems to be mostly religious though).

No he isn't. S/He uses tired arguments, logical fallacies and ignorance. An intelligent high school student can see though it. Arguments like this would fail in any liberal arts course, forget science. The only people convinced are equally as ignorant and uneducated. To think stupidity would be worn as a badge of honour.  Roll Eyes

I think that's what he's saying. This is a good example of dummies like badecker trying to spread their "knowledge" to other simple minded dummies.

I feel sorry for you, badecker. I sincerely hope you won't live the rest of your life in ignorance.

 Sad

I feel the same way. Do you think we could get a donation fund set up for Badecker and all others in a similar position? He needs all the help he can get.

In all seriousness, only time can help. Religion is a dying problem, it becomes less and less relevant every day as it has been for a long time. We are too connected and intelligent for it to be a viable means of control in this day and age for most people. Hopefully we're only a few generations away from religion being in the same camp as smallpox.

On a very related note, have you guys watched the documentary "Jesus Camp"? It's an interesting look at hard-core religious beliefs, available on Netflix.

Thanks, kids, for feeling sorry for me. I should feel sorry for you more, but I don't, 'cause you are young enough that you just might survive.

The two weakest religions that will crash first are the religion of atheism, and the religion of faulty science like evolution. It is happening among a lot of folks right now. And you can see me crashing them right here in this forum.

I don't have anything against you kids. I should feel sorry for you, because you will be receiving the backlash of your crashed religions in the near future. But I don't have time to feel sorry. I'm too busy preparing for the crash, because it will not only be a crash of your religions. It will go into finance, and all kinds of other things.

Should I say, "good luck to you?" I don't have time. But, thanks again for feeling sorry for me.

Smiley

Kano is there any way to delete unused workers from our account?
Not yet
(though you will never to able to 'delete' them, just rather ignore them)

Looking forward to that.

1400  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: February 24, 2015, 03:14:53 PM
Hi Guys

I've have an Antminer S4 running happily since early November without any real issues.

But yesterday, it didn't want to bootup. I think I've diagnose the problem as a faulty SD card. I've bought a new SD card but I don't have a backup (I had made one, but I've lost it)

How would I go about reloading the firmware on the SD card? I searched but can't seem to find a guide. Or where online can I find image of the SD card?

I stay in South Africa and have sluggish internet so to minimize down time I would prefer not to download an entire 4GB image clone.
