2201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin better than Fiat? on: April 10, 2021, 12:00:07 PM
For one, it has proven itself to be better than the fiat currency that we all use right now. Bitcoins has become an asset itself, not just a currency. Bitcoin cannot be manipulated nor created again so that there would be more and more bitcoins. Fiat can be printed out like pancakes by the central banks and it will cause inflation and devaluation which lead to higher prices. We should not be comparing fiat anymore. We already know who is the winner.
Bitcoin isn't as widely used as fiat is so in terms of usage, fiat is more accessible to more people. If on whale has enough bitcoin, I think that thet can manipulate the market, I mean all markets can be manipulated, the laws are just preventing it from happening openly.
2202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin problems that need to be solved on: April 10, 2021, 11:23:38 AM
Security is not a problem, the problem is the people that are using bitcoin are lousy in keeping their credentials safe. I don't know what to say about the second part though. In my opinion, the biggest problem that bitcoin needs to solve is the network speed and the transactions speeds.
2203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fidelity, Coinbase and Square establish a crypto council this month on: April 10, 2021, 10:43:34 AM
Pure lobbying made necessary by the fact that they cannot afford to be cut off from crypto regulation activities that could rain down on them and cause drastic problems to their respective business models. Of course they don't give a damn about the small fish but they are interested in maintaining and increasing their sphere of interest in the world of institutional investors.
If they cared, they wouldn't form a lobbying group. This council is just a conglomerate that plans to dominate the crypto space and control every aspect of the market, they may deny it right now but I am sure that they are going to do that.
2204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin demand among Workers globally!! on: April 10, 2021, 09:57:23 AM
The demand for bitcoin in the international market is increasing day by day.
Thanks Captain Obvious, you don't say. Of course the demand grows because more people are blinded by the glitter that bitcoin emanates with its current prices, it will definitely make people want to get paid in bitcoin because they want to get their piece on the bitcoin pie.
2205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Secret Bitcoin farm covered by Sky News on: April 10, 2021, 08:45:09 AM
~
if it is related to China and indeed the rules that have been made have been set by the government, usually no one will dare to do things that violate these rules. because it is clear that the law there cannot tolerate violating the predetermined rules.
Not everyone follows the rules in China, how come there are Great Firewall Jumpers and not a lot of them are caught, the problem is that they are trying to take away the freedom of the people by putting these laws that don't make sense like this one where they aren't allowed to mine bitcoin.
2206  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 2.3 bitcoins were stolen from me! on: April 10, 2021, 07:42:03 AM
If that is actually yours, I'm not sure why you're posting this just now because the YouTube video was uploaded a bit less than 2 years ago in Aug 27, 2019.

But assuming this is actually you losing 2.3 BTC, well, not sure why you're not using a hardware wallet for private key handling with that much amount of money. But yea, I can't understand Russian.
Also why would OP beg for bitcoin in the first place? To OP there is no way that the person who stole your bitcoin is going to return it to you, accept the fact that it got stolen and it is your fault in the first place. Being your own bank has its own responsibilities and if you fail to take care of those responsibility then you will have to face the consequences.
2207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Secret Bitcoin farm covered by Sky News on: April 10, 2021, 06:49:49 AM
Aren't there farms in China that are government backed? I feel bad for this guy hiding his farm because the government wants to take all the profits for themselves. Hopefully that he won't get caught but considering that this is China, I don't think that his bitcoin farm will be compromised sooner or later.
2208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have $150,000 US dollars and my target is a 10x gain. Stop me going all in now on: April 10, 2021, 05:30:49 AM
To be fair with you, if you are to invest in bitcoin right now, I am pretty sure that you will earn a really big interest when you hodl for a long time, maybe you can multiply that investment tenfold in 10 years time or maybe not, you said that you have a high risk profile so I don't you don't have to worry about it, just invest because you will never know that next day the prices are higher.
2209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will governments ban Bitcoin like they did with Gold? on: April 10, 2021, 03:35:32 AM
If they want to ban Bitcoin they should have done it earlier, now that adoption is skyrocketing people will fight for it. We’ve seen so many Bitcoin bans and harsh regulations from different countries, some tried to totally ban it and some are still shaky with their decisions. Its impossible to ban Bitcoin, they can’t control it unless they shutdown internet servers.
Even if they ban it, there is nothing that they can do unless they cut off the Internet in their country, I mean look at Middle Eastern countries, some of them ban pornography but there some analytics that most users come from this part of the region. They can't ban bitcoin because they will suffer the consequences.
2210  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk forum holding 125 BTC on: April 09, 2021, 09:25:04 AM
Few things:

Forum holds more than 125 BTC. Multiple people have access to the forum funds via Multi-sig. For more info in detail, read : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=155000.0

Forum spends most of the money of Epochtalk, and to pay out mods. Epochtalk is the new forum software which has been in development for ~8 years. The board for epochtalk is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=167.0
Do they invest or something to keep a steady bitcoin because paying mods is going to be draining those bitcoin and the forum software that you are talking about is going to add to that expenses too. Are there still donators to this day that bitcoin price is high.
2211  Other / Meta / Re: Change Account Password Regularly. on: April 09, 2021, 08:38:22 AM
This is common practice and everyone should practice to secure their account. It's not only bitcointalk, should be applied to every other sites you are using. Personally, I change password sometimes in my exchanges account. But in bitcointalk, I have never changed it, it’s reasonable because I believe my password is strong enough to be bruteforced. I have used long password with every possible characters combination.
That is what my teacher in Computer Class said, we have to regularly change our password, mix and match the characters, and choose long password, and the password doesn't have any connection with you personally. Another kne that I might add is that you have to shut up about your important accounts, loose lips sinks ships. I wouldn't necessarily do what theymos does which is annually but maybe 2 to 3 years.
2212  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bloomberg predicting BTC reaching $400K in 2021 on: April 09, 2021, 07:58:26 AM
No, this only shows that yet again the media is printing anything that could get people to go to their website and read it, aka click-baits. And since we are in a bull market printing articles about how price is going to be [blank] where [blank] is any arbitrary high number is getting the most attention. They do the exact opposite in bear market!
Anything for the views, that is why I only take what the media says with a grain of salt. I mean these could help bitcoin reach a higher prices because the media can influence people into something and they might be able to do it, this is a proven phenomenon.
2213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Two months since Tesla BTC purchase. Corporate buying less than expected? on: April 09, 2021, 07:10:40 AM
There will be downtimes, we can't expect that everyday is a Christmas for bitcoin and cryptocurrency market. Just wait and there is still a lot of time and future is uncertain so we just have to hope for the best.
2214  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next big news? on: April 09, 2021, 06:22:04 AM
I expect that during this quarter the companies that bought Bitcoin in the first quarter will start coming out and this will have a positive effect on the price. Let's remember that Tesla did not disclose the Bitcoin purchase right after it was made, they did it after the fact and that is how it will be with the other companies.
That is a big expectation to be honest, I mean companies are not really forced to announce that they are buying bitcoin but I agree that it is going to be a good news because as more bitcoin as bought, the prices go up, it is the most important thing after all.
2215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tenants to pay rent with bitcoin on: April 09, 2021, 05:49:44 AM

They can freely use BTCPayServer(zero fees) if additional expenses from fees are what's actually stopping them. Also, while demand is definitely minimal, having bitcoin payments ready in advance before the sort of "true" mas adoption comes(and before their competitors accept BTC) will give them a good advantage.
You're right, I forgot about that one,the first to adopt will be the prosperous ones because they have the variety that the competitors don't have, but my another question is will they BTCPayServer can handle a scaling in the business though?
2216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US idea to counter China attack with bitcoin on: April 09, 2021, 05:05:14 AM
Not really sure who started all of this, China vs US and bitcoin in the middle as a tool to destabilised or at least used as a financial weapon by the Chinese to threaten US Dollar. And then now Pomp coming up with the 'solution', which for me is such a good counter that US government should look into it. But in any case, we all know that bitcoin can't be controlled not by powerful countries such as China and the US.
We don't really know if bitcoin can't be controlled by anyone and we don't know a lot about China since they are very secretive of their operations and we never know that they might have some technology that is being developed or already developed to weaponize bitcoin for something.
2217  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price fall to Zero? Possible or not? on: April 09, 2021, 04:16:57 AM
I don't know about the other reasons that OP listed besides number 1, if there is no trade happening then there is no change in prices, but you are right that most of them are highly unlikely because it should've happened in the stock market a long time ago.
2218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tenants to pay rent with bitcoin on: April 09, 2021, 03:14:28 AM
We need more institutional companies adding crypto as their payment method. This will encourage ordinary people to take a look what's in store for them when they deal with crypto particularly bitcoin. This will drive also mass adoption among previously noncrypto users. These companies believe about the bright future of crypto, the reason why they are open to the idea of accepting bitcoin payments.
The only problem is that they are going increase their expenses and most companies don't necessarily go in without seeing the benefits of integrating a payment system in their business model.
2219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Could Be Chinese ‘Weapon’ on: April 08, 2021, 07:28:32 AM
Bitcoin can be anything though and if China plans to attack using bitcoin then I don't think that as an individual investor have to worry about it and if the attack was to happen it will not happen anytime soon.
2220  Economy / Economics / Re: Are "Work Ethics" & "American Dream" a way to keep people working hard? on: April 08, 2021, 06:31:05 AM
This is relative, the logic says that if you work more you should receive more money or payment, sometimes some jobs require you to give at least 8 to 10 hours of work, but the salary you earn is not enough to live well, but to try to cover the most basic needs such as food, services, among others.

When you have a profession in a certain branch, according to the degree of difficulty, the pay is taken into account, for more difficult professions the payment is higher, but if the payment is higher, the schedule is not taken into account, because in the same way it is due meet schedules.

When a job is done, it should pay through the achieved goals, I think that in that aspect everything would improve from the time dedicated to the work as well as the quality and the payment.
They condition people into thinking that if they work hard enough, they will get more money but that is not the case since there isn't a lot of people that are hardworking that get rich, maybe there are some that are an exception but most of the time, it is not the case. This conditioning is used so the capitalist ruling class is able to exploit human resources with the problem of the people revolting against them.
