Can we gather here also suggestions which does not required theymos to do anything, ~
If they don't require his input then they can easily be implemented and those things can be discussed or done elsewhere. Isn't this one that can be started without further effort from theymos: • Enforce the sig campaign guidelines. If a campaign is spotted that is doing little to nothing and is abused en mass by spammers, farmers, bots and copy and pasters they are warned. If nothing changes then they are punished with such things as bans, threads trashed, signatures blacklisted site-wide etc. OK in principle, would require thought/adjustment/implementation. Many of these things are more complex than they look at first glance. I know you (hilariousandco) have suggested it before, and wrote the signature guidelines almost 2 years ago. Now that theymos says it's "OK in principle", can't you start banning them?

View/post ratio is good indicator of discussion's quality, when views are at least 7x higher, this means there is less spam. See other threads, there are usually 3:1 ratio. I get much higher ratios in my threads, from 20:1 to more than 100:1 here. But most of my threads aren't meant for discussions, and my self-moderated delete button probably scares away most spammers before they post. I didn't look at this ratio before, but I would have expected it to be much, much higher! A 3:1 ratio means barely anybody reads, and they only post for the sake of posting. But we knew that already of course.

What about those reports that being marked bad even though it's very obvious that it's a shitposts? I know it's really rare to see those scenarios but I think it's happening right now. Mods are human, they make mistakes too. On the "Report to moderator" page, it says this: Do not worry about your accuracy too much; one accurate report is worth many inaccurate reports. So just don't worry about it. If I understand correctly, Mods get a PM for every report in their jurisdiction, and Global Mods get a PM for any report. I can imagine this drives them crazy when they handle many reports. This sounds to me like a terrible system, and really needs this: • A report queue for reported messages. Currently every global and admin are spammed by any reported message and half of the time when you go to handle it it has already been handled, thus wasting everybody's time. OK in principle, would require thought/adjustment/implementation. Many of these things are more complex than they look at first glance.

They don't understand what is forum and how it should work. They are only welcoming spam by paying such amount and accepting spanners as well. It could be they've received funding from one or more ICOs. ICOs in general love spam, so they don't care about that. The total ICO market is worth billions of dollars, so it could be a small investment hoping to gain market share. If that's the case: let them be! I'd be very happy if they take the spammers away from Bitcointalk.

If posts are edited more than 10 minutes after creation, they get a dotted line under the post date. On mouse hover, you'll see when it was last edited. This post is unedited, meaning you copied it. This leaves no room for error: #16User: SHAWN-MIDWAYS bannedCopy:The market is yet to recover, because prices are certainly not yet stable. Considering what is presently happening, i think some people are still skeptical about the bitcoin ETF, which i believe will not any anyway come to pass in this year. There might not even be anything on that whatsoever. Nonetheless, the market will surely recover any time soon, because this is not just the expectation of many, but that the circumstances surrounding the present time have revealed it.

Nice try though!
I'm very curious why you did this, just 2 days after you gave me 5 Merit for this post: Yes, I partly admit my guilt. I admit only partly, because the percentage of plagiarism in these my 3 posts is minimal, and even in Universities during the writing of scientific works now allowed the presence of plagiarism at the level of 30-45%. I don't know which universities you're talking about, but any self respecting university has zero tolerance for plagiarism. Yes, I was stupid that I did not care to put a link to the source, but this is my isolated cases and I am not a malicious copy-paster. I ask you to remove my ban or limit it to any period. As far as I know, only Admins can lift bans. And that's very unlikely to happen.

About 99.9% of all the users who complain about their ban, claiming they didn't copy/paste, are guilty! It's like asking a prisoner whether or not he's innocent. show the text that is plagiarism Here you go, because you made it so easy: I checked your merit history, clicked a post that received Merit, and *drum roll sound* it's plagiarism. Now, please go away. You are banned. Note that you are not allowed to use your alt account(s) to post in any other thread than this one. Ban evasion results in another ban. Kudos to the Russian Mods for cleaning up their local board!

How about a guide about CryptoNight coins CPU mining? See: I think I should limit this to Bitcoin (and forum) related subjects, instead of adding altcoin guides. If you really want this: change my mind!

Would it be frowned upon if I leave trust from my alt? I'm in doubt, because technically my alt account didn't do anything, but it would be a nice "workaround" to be able to leave less heavy feedback. I'm asking because I recently participated in a $50 giveaway, which only required writing a review after trying the site. This was paid as promised. I want to leave feedback, but not DT-feedback, as my little experience with the site doesn't justify that. Update: I'll leave trust from LoyceMobile.

Serious question: If I could show you how and where (not here) make 5-10% profit on selling Bitcoins everyday do you think you could make same serious income?
No. If you could earn that much profit per day, you wouldn't need me. You'd be swimming in money! The fact that you need me means it's not a guaranteed profit.

I don't see Altcoin Discussion as a training ground for Bitcointalk. After all, it is Bitcointalk, and not cryptotalk or something along those lines. In their defense: altcoins didn't exist when Bitcointalk was created. In my opinion, a healthy (with the emphasis on healthy) altcoin discussion fits this forum perfectly.

I've added it under "Other", because it's a FAQ and not a Howto. I'd like to add a guide on using the Lightning Network, and if someone makes it, it should be updated once new wallets become available. I've added 2 more links.

Alternatively, an image of a half-naked woman could be displayed, and if you look closely READ THE RULES could be edited across her boobs? I'm sure that would get their attention. You can use https://fakeproof.xenot.pro/# to create this (NSFW if you have very sensitive colleagues). But as much as I like it, it will give the wrong idea about this forum ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)
I'm really getting curious who the hell is this alia? Alia started like this: Bored, horny and naked...And ended like this: Upon investigation, alia == favours via IP evidence

No, i can't do 1000 merit in 3 years, and very few can. There are specific boards and threads were people are more likely to merit. By merely posting where you want to post on these forums, you're hurting your chances to acquire merit. Am i going to go out of my way to collect merit from the sources that give it? Fuck no. I'm not here to farm kudo points from other users, as many of you do who defend the system. I think you're going at this the wrong way: you're mainly posting in Altcoin discussion, and if you like that, that's great! But those boards suffer from massive spam, which means your posts don't get noticed much, even though you don't look like a spammer to me. Now, If Merit and other measures could reduce the spam, the altcoin boards could become quality boards again instead of Spam Megathreads, and many good posts will get noticed again. Unfortunately, that won't happen overnight. I don't know if you do it already, but you can help clean up the forum by clicking "Report to moderator" on bad posts. Get them deleted or banned! So lets break this down in elementary terms; the majority of the highest ranked BTT members dwell only in BTC sections, so therefore more likely to merit in those locations You make it sound as if it is a bad thing to mainly use Bitcoin sections on a Bitcoin forum. The Merit system isn't perfect, but it's the best we have now. In an ideal world, it wouldn't be necessary. Long term, I'm hoping you too would appreciate a cleaner forum with higher post quality.
You clearly have not done any research into my profile, and failed to understand my post. You refute and defend the system all you want, it doesn't make your contributions to BTT any more significant than mine. And from your profile posts, it's pretty evident your contributions amount to nothing, just basic support and the occasional constructive posts that are far and few. I'm confused why you have so much merit for those elementary school posts? maybe you're milking the right tits
Yes, I did check your post history. Congratulations on your work of shilling/working on shitcoins who are nothing more than a money-grab scheme or doesn't have any real world utility. I hope you enjoyed the 3% of your now dead "Nevra" shitcoin. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Aren't all altcoins, ICOs and Forkcoins money-grab schemes? I don't think Merit is supposed to stop that, otherwise it would be much easier to just close all altcoin boards. And I do think tk808's posts are much better than the spammers for which Merit was introduced, which is why I merited him.
I have 177, as you can see
Mere fact that he started week earlier, with no contributing at all (if we equal merit = contribution, I got 77 meanwhile, he got zero) outweighs all my efforts It depends how you look at it. When it comes to Rank you're right, a 250 Merit airdrop beats your 177 Merit. But when it comes to contribution and recognition on the forum, earning Merits the hard way makes your posts look much better. And if you keep this up, you'll pass 250 in a few months.

I haven't added this one, I don't think it's worth it. If someone disagrees, please post! I think I should limit this to Bitcoin (and forum) related subjects, instead of adding altcoin guides. If you really want this: change my mind! I can't assess the value of this thread. It seems quite specialized, should I add a section for technical stuff for advanced users? ~snip~ About half your links were already mentioned. Please check carefully before suggesting new links. Tip: If you click "quote" on the OP, you can search for the thread number to see if it's added already.Added, although I think it's mainly a link dump. Added, although it's more or less covered in other guides already. I may remove certain duplicates again once the list gets longer. Not added, I think tbct_mt2's guide covers more details. @LoyceV, I think URL link to be corrected for Vod's suggested thread post Thanks, fixed!

I see he is already on the list since March 2018. Probably it is about time that his feedbacks are removed So change the thread title to something like: "Feedback abuse, asking for Admin action" and see if you get their attention.

Not critical but it would be nice if the Report to moderator page, came up in a separate tab. The same way the Merit page does.
Use your middle mouse button to open a tab in the background. I wish Merit would work the same as "Report", with Report I can choose to open it in the same tab if I want to.
