[GUIDES] on Bitcointalk. Index thread

Two months ago, Vod suggested a "Guide" subforum. I can't make that, but I can start with a list of threads that belong there. If this list gets long enough, I hope all listed threads can be moved to a subforum.
For maximum exposure, I may move this thread between Meta and Beginners & Help once in a while.

Please post guides that should be added. I've already found suggestions from several users. For the sake of keeping this overview short, I won't keep a list of who gave which suggestion. I've edited some of the titles, click the link to read the original.
If something isn't worth being on this list, or can be replaced by a better guide, please discuss that in this topic.
If the list gets long enough, I'll add more categories.

There you go. Another (small) problem solved, again.
Let me give some suggestions too :

[LEARN] BBCode Lessons & Tutorials [+tutorial videos!] by roslinpl
Terminology by yogi
[Tips] Guide for forum search by coly20032003
Newbies - Read before posting by Lauda

The second one is not a guide but is educational so I think it fits in the "Guide" list.

Ups, just saw that the first and the third are already suggested by SFR10, sorry.

These threads are also still open to suggestions. As it is I usually point people to them when I feel they could use some of the information.

I haven't added this one, I don't think it's worth it. If someone disagrees, please post!

Quote
I think I should limit this to Bitcoin (and forum) related subjects, instead of adding altcoin guides. If you really want this: change my mind!

Quote
I can't assess the value of this thread. It seems quite specialized, should I add a section for technical stuff for advanced users?

~snip~
About half your links were already mentioned. Please check carefully before suggesting new links.
Tip: If you click "quote" on the OP, you can search for the thread number to see if it's added already.

Quote
Added, although I think it's mainly a link dump.

Quote
Added, although it's more or less covered in other guides already. I may remove certain duplicates again once the list gets longer.

Quote
Not added, I think tbct_mt2's guide covers more details.

Quote
@LoyceV, I think URL link to be corrected for Vod's suggested thread post
Thanks, fixed!

Thanks for including my work! What about Common questions regarding the Lightning Network? I will soon finish writing another thread which covers the basics of the LN so it might be a good idea to include that one.

I've added it under "Other", because it's a FAQ and not a Howto. I'd like to add a guide on using the Lightning Network, and if someone makes it, it should be updated once new wallets become available.

I've added 2 more links.

How about a guide about CryptoNight coins CPU mining?

I've created and maintained it for a while now and it seems it is useful to people who start mining these coins: [CryptoNight] CPU mining guide & coins that will get you a return

I was trying yo change your mind with my guide Smiley

I think a lot of people can benefit from altcoin guides as well, not just bitcoin Smiley

IMHO, the altcoins are the new "wild west" where there are higher risks but you can also get higher returns as well.

I'd like to add a guide on using the Lightning Network, and if someone makes it, it should be updated once new wallets become available.

I have just published "Basics of the Lightning Network - explanation and wallets". I did not describe wallets in detail since they are still being constantly updated. There is no point in updating the guide every month. I will write such guide in a few months.
