The ban applies only to CNY deposits?
If so, then is it possible to make a deposit for any other currency, either the Russian Ruble or the US Dollar in BTC China?
Note: According to the statement made by BTC China, this is a temporary measure.

Blockchain.info is one of the most secure wallets there is if used properly.
If you have a keylogger on your system then all wallets (and all bank accounts, and PayPal, etc.) are vulnerable.
You can tie Blockchain to a single IP address, you can log all IPs of all accesses, you can use various forms of 2FA. The list goes on. I have been using if for years with no issues. Having said that I also keep most of my coins offline.
You must use a very good > 20 character very random password, enable 2FA, etc.
If our IP changes without warning, then we might not be able to log-in. BTW.... how can we see the log of all accesses in Blockchain.info?

Speaking as a regular user of the named "Russian mob" exchange, it also enjoys success because it's good. They were an early-adopting litecoin exchange, and also offer seamless fiat crosses (I've never attempted to deposit or draw fiat from them though, which sounds awkward at best). It seems that a lot of Russian oligarchs who lost their money in Cyprus are now backing Bitcoin. And BTC-E is effectively run by these people, and since they have connections higher up, the users will not face much difficulties.

The nuclear industry would collapse overnight without government subsidies, it's one of the most inefficient ways to produce electricity. If people want small government, who's going to pay for the handouts to the nuclear industry?
No way. Even without the government subsidies, nuclear energy is very much cheaper than any other form of energy. See this:

Dude, haven't you seen Code Geass?
Nope. I don't watch Japanese anime that frequently. What's it about?

That's very impressive. Anyone know what has lead to the rise of btc-e?
ROFLMAO. Actually it is not the rise of the BTC-E. It is due to the decline of the other exchanges. BTC China volume has declined by more than 50%, and Mt Gox has also declined considerably. BTC-E is having near-100% market share in the CIS nations (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus.etc) and the volumes haven't changed much. Also, I have heard that BTC-E is keen on expanding to China.

We need really new breakthroughs like nuclear fusion, not the shitty gas that destroys environment in the large scales!
Even the current technology of generating electricity using nuclear fission is far better than burning gas or coal to generate the same. I don't know why all those environmentalists oppose nuclear energy. If you take all the necessary security precautions, nuclear energy is the cheapest and cleanest form of energy which is available to us.

Which is absurd. What chance does bitcoin have if people can't use it on their home PC for fear of theft?
Online wallets and clients need 2FA and maybe online banking style "enter letters 3, 5 and 7 from your password" to help improve security.
For anyone moving coins around - buying and selling, day trading, etc - paper wallets or offline storage really isn't practical.
That is a good proposal. This will eliminate the problem with keyloggers as well. Recently I am hearing a lot of horror stories from people who are using Blockchain.info wallets. They should really improve their security.

if bitcoin mining is uselss. well so is gold mining.
Gold mining is very much profitable in certain parts of the earth. That is why in Brazil alone we have hundreds of thousands of illegal Garimpeiros. Some governments mine gold, even if it is non-profitable. This is to reduce the reliance on imports, and to preserve the Forex reserves. Such factors (imports / reserves) don't apply to Bitcoin.

Which Sharia, though? There are many schools of Islamic jurisprudence.
That depends on the particular Islamic subgroup. I don't think that there can be a single Islamic Bitcoin authority. Various divisions will have (in future?) authorities of their own.

My point is that if one really wants to tackle the evils of the world, starting by teaching people how to resolve their misery and better their life as a means of reducing inequality is a great way to do it.
Great point. Nations which have tried wealth re-distribution (Cuba and North Korea, and more recently Venezuela and Bolivia) have failed miserably in removing the social and economic inequality. They just ended up with ruined economies. This is a failed idea. Why we should retry it?

Well they can use it for their own benefits to trade accordingly.
It happens to Wall Street, stocks market as well.
Doesnt matter how good bitcoin is, we, humans, are the weakest of any system.
Any idea on who owns Coindesk? I have lost all the faith I had with them. For me, they were one of the foremost sources for getting the latest Bitcoin-related news. But not anymore.

Nobody likes traitors. And , no matter what he did and what good will come out of it , he is a traitor. Simply put:
“I love treason but hate a traitor.” ― Julius Caesar
Snowden is a traitor for you? May be you are from the USA. For those outside the US, he is very much a hero who exposed the dirty tactics played by the US administration on other governments.

My prediction:
Group A: Brazil, Croatia Group B: Spain, Netherlands Group C: Japan, Greece Group D: Uruguay, Italy (I think Uruguay will kick out England) Group E: Switzerland, Ecuador (sorry. No France this time). Group F: Argentina, Nigeria Group G: Germany, Portugal Group H: Belgium, Russia (tough fight between Russia and South Korea)

True - also a new rule will actually allow for two children provided that *one* of the parents is an only child (not sure exactly when that comes in).
The population has stabilized somewhat. That is why they are relaxing the tough family planning rules. The male:female ratio is already at a catastrophic level. It needs to be taken in to account.

The thread might be sarcastic. But even if we imagine the extreme scenario, then the Chinese will be creating an altcoin which is similar to Bitcoin if they want to replace the CNY. They will not adopt some coin which was invented by an ethnic Japanese.

Definitely Bitcoin.
Litecoin is a bit overpriced right now. Wait till it goes to about 0.01 or 0.02 BTC.
Quarkcoin is an interesting altcoin. I see a very bright future for it.

Some of the Tube sites have Premium membership option, which requires a small payment. A large part of the revenue comes from such payments, The rest come from advertising.

I will not put India in the same league as China. Although the population might be more or less equal, the Indian investors are not as wealthy as their Chinese counterparts. So I don't think that we can expect a price hike similar to the one we had when BTC boomed in China.
