As an alternative, you can drift somewhere in the international waters
This seems to be the only option. I don't think that artificial islands are economically viable, if the water depth is more than 15 meters. BTW... I am not extremely sure whether any part of the shallow ocean (<15 m depth) comes outside the EEZ of various nations.

Transaction fee is a small problem when the items being traded is cheap (I believe bitcoin devs are working on this??) The current transaction fees for Bitcoin (0.0001 BTC or 0.1 USD) is much less than Paypal, I believe. So even for small amounts, BTC is good as a medium of payment.

Ethanol is great for the environment? Have ever heard of a country called Uruguay? It is in Latin America. A country as big as Germany. Only 6 millions souls. Even less trees left. Forests cut down on a major scale to make room for the production of ethanol (green energy). Uruguay is pretty much flat, so perfect for large scale farming. I am saying this again and again. Producing Ethanol doesn't mean that we have to cut down trees. We have billions of acres of fallow land all over the world. This can be used for growing cane plantations. And regarding Uruguay. Only 8.6% of Uruguay's area is forest. Why this needs to be cut down, when more than half of the remaining 90%+ is remaining fallow / barren.

Has anyone ever thought maybe Satoshi is Ulbricht? and that's why the FBI came down so hard on him and we haven't heard from him since?
Completely ridiculous. At least we know that Satoshi is a mathematical and programming genius, who was at least 25 years old by 2008. On the other hand, Ullbricht has no background in these fields.

From what I read Satoshi mined wallets are pretty easily identified since they have something unique about them. They are about 900K coins I believe. [/quote] Hmm... I haven't seen any posts here or any Blockchain wallets tagged as "Satoshi's wallet". I have only seen threads discussing the approx. amount of BTCs Satoshi is holding. But nowhere I have heard about the number of wallets he is holding or the amount of BTCs in each of them.

I'd originally thought that Bitcoin would become a useful alternative to Paypal and remittance services. But it's not happening. Bitcoin prices are too volatile and the exchanges are too flaky.
May be in a year or so, the prices will stabilize. And exchanges such as BTC-E and Mt Gox will also become more reliable. And for remittances, Bitcoin is already popular in some of the smaller nations such as Kenya.

And you will have to pay toll on a regular bases to all those tribes that are fighting between themselves for centuries there. The best place with security and safety in mind is Antarctica. Lol.. even for going there you will need special permits. Not possible at all.

You don't need to purchase anything. You can easily move to Pitcairn and become head of a state. It has open immigration, no taxes. The other possible location is Nauru. The creation of "all legal" tourist destination is long overdue. The Pitcairns are administered by the British. And they'll kick your a$$ if you try to create a micro-nation there. Same with Nauru. It is controlled by the USA (although by proxy). Both Pitcairn and Nauru will deport you in a matter of minutes if the FBI issues a warrant against you. I recommend bribing some African dictator and creating a semi-micronation somewhere in Sub Saharan Africa.

There is another great solution for Ukraine without bringing a permanent split across the country.... Yep: They have just started their exploration. It will take at least two decades before the rigs are created, pipelines are built and the first shipment is done. Ukraine is in no position to shut down its steel and other heavy metal industries, especially when the economy is in all sorts of trouble.

I really hope so... I hate paypal so much ever since they robbed me of an ipad. Assholes.
Hmmm.... It seems that Payapal bosses are out there on a PR-enhancement exercise. Check this. BTW... how did you lost that ipad?

ok,fair enough most of the so called "robberies" have been more like cases where the wallet holder was negligent with the keys rather than them actually being cracked Not always. Yesterday there was a thread here, started by an user whose BTCs were stolen. He had used 2FA and two passwords. So sometimes it is not exactly the owner's fault.

Is there a way to leave off satoshi and FBI holdings? Also isn't that November spike the sheeps marketplace theft?
So far no one has identified a single wallet of "Satoshi". I am not even sure that he holds that many coins. The FBI wallet is tagged as "DPR seized wallet" and contains some 144,000+ BTCs.

Incorrect. I wouldn't be happy with $75k a month.
Right now, I am earning $600 per month. Can't even make a comparison.

The criminals behind Cryptolocker are holding a few out of those 927 places.
They'll remain there as long as Kasper is not able to catch them.

How do you figure that? As of 2013, Switzerland's GDP is approximately $646 billion US Dollars. The $188B for the "handout" (which assumes everyone in the country gets the full amount, not just supplementing up to at least that level) would be 25.6% of that GDP. Swiss GDP is heavily inflated by its backing sector as well as foreign firms, which can't be taxed. The total salary and other revenue for all Swiss residents add up to ~ $ 300 billion only. Of this amount, $120 billion is already taxed. And you should also add into equation that there will be a halving of Switzerland population once this goes through. There are enough countries out there with nice mountains snow and chocolate without stupid taxes in which you can move.
Yes. Typical Atlas Shrugged situation. Hard working people will move out, leaving only the lazy and stupid. The welfare state will last less than 12 months.

And were exactly would you draw that line? Include all provinces won by Yanukovych in the East. Include those won by Tymoshenko, Klitschko and Svoboda on the West. We should not forget that the main reason for people both supporting and opposing on Ukraine joining the EU is economical. Eastern Ukraine (especially Donetsk) depends heavily on subsidized Russian gas for its metal industries. If Ukraine joins the EU, millions of people there will be left without a livelihood. On the other hand, Western Ukraine lacks big industries and have remained as one of the poorest regions of Europe. If Ukraine joins the EU, Western Ukrainians can migrate to UK or Germany to earn a living.

It might seem outrageous. But at this point, I think the only solution to end this crisis is to partition Ukraine to the East and the West.

As a percentage of GDP, Switzerland's taxes are lower than Canada and only a little higher than the USA, which themselves are relatively low, contrary to the "We're being taxed to death!!!" screaming.
I have already covered this. Even if they tax their citizens 100%, the money which is required for the handouts ($ 188 b) can't be raised.

Hmm... AFAIK, America (the USA) is not depending on Middle East oil. They have their own oil reserves and just buy Mexican and Venezuelan oil. So it doesn't make much sense to sell African oil to the USA (would be too expensive)...
US is having bad relations with Venezuela, which makes it almost impossible to import oil from there. In September 2013, US imported some 300 million barrels of crude, of which 118 million was from OPEC nations (47 mbl from Saudi Arabia).
