2262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Price on: January 16, 2021, 08:03:48 AM
Bitcoin price depends on the frequent agreed price between two people transacting at an exchange. Theoretically, it is simply a concept where person agrees to sell a coin at this X price and another person who is willing to buy on that X price

Let's say for example.

Joe received his $30,000 monthly salary and he decided to buy a fraction of bitcoin since he believes that bitcoin is a good asset that will preserve his wealth in the long run. He then goes to an exchange and sees that bitcoin price is ranging from $35,300 to $35,350 and since he is buying, he wanted it at a cheaper price possible. So, he placed a limit order at a price of $ 35,290.

Alice has made $40,000 by selling books though a popular online marketplace. However, he needed to pay her debt, tax and other basic necessities. After doing so, her remaining balance is $20,000. Similarly, she decided to buy bitcoin using her remaining balance. She then goes to an exchange and placed a limit order of $35,315.

Bob holds 4 BTC that he previously bought at $35,300 each. Unfortunately, he's tired of seeing volatile price action that leads him to decide in selling his holdings. And since he belongs to a group of people who are weakhands and is willing to exchange his BTC for an inflationary fiat. Similarly, he goes to an exchange and place a limit order at $35,310 to avoid selling at a losing rate.

Billy also have 15 BTC in his pocket. However, he wants to have an early retirement which urged him to sell his BTC at an exchange with with selling order at $35,320 each.

Due to the increased price of bitcoin these past few days, Mark suffers from FOMO and deliberately used his $25,600 savings account to buy BTC. Since he wanted to buy BTC as soon as possible, he goes to an exchange and used a market order to instantly exchange his savings into BTC. As we all know, Market order chooses the lowest possible rate that is present on the order book which in this case is from Bob where he agrees to sell his bitcoin at $35,310.

Mark will now receive 0.729 BTC while Bob receives Mark's $25,600 plus his remaining bitcoin is now at 3.271BTC

At this particular moment, the current price of bitcoin will now change to $35,310 since it is the frequent agreed price between 2 people. Take note that the change in price happens every second at different exchange that is why price variation exists im every trading platform.

How do I find (and trust) programmers to create it?
You can create a proper Job Hiring announcement in Services and Project Development section along with all the detailed requirement for your project or idea. It could be the following:

  • Detailed description of your idea
  • Job Details
  • Amount of money you are willing to spend
  • Deadline
  • Job Porfolio

How much would it cost to develop if I want it to grow organically and under the radar?
The actual cost of creating a successful project is being measured on the money and time you've put into effort in creating them and how are you going to sustain the project development team in the long run. You should also consider that in the latter part of you project you need to spend another fortune for the advertisement and promotional stuff that will enable the project to expand if and only if the project has a real use case and can somehow solve a problem.

Most of the start-up project failed because obviously they are targeting an easy get rich quick rather than the development of their project to solve an underlying problem.
2264  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for Auction or other site to sell on on: January 16, 2021, 04:24:13 AM
I've seen numerous bitcointalk members who has successfully auctioned their artwork in Collectible Section.
[1] [AUCTION] ACRYLIC PAINTING! 10TH ANNIV WINNING ARTWORK!!!
[2] [Auction] Painting on canvas "Bitcoin fun”

I think it would also be a good idea if you can create an abstract or a conceptual bitcoin related acrylic/oil (whatever medium you prefer) painting and then auction it here since most of the collectors here are interested in crypto in general. Just follow this instruction to start an auction for your piece.

Also, there are additional marketplace that you can use.

2265  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Conflicting data on Coingecko, why? on: January 15, 2021, 09:28:56 AM
Could you please give me the list or link of these 46 exchanges that make up the tally if that won't be any problems for you.
Spot and Derivative market are totally different to each other especially on how their respective trade works. Perhaps that's the reason why they are being separated by coingecko.

Eh? Those 46 exchanges can easily be found beside "Spot" exhange tab when you click the linked number on the tab panel of the site.

2266  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos Withdrawal Fees Rise (!?)|| January 2021 on: January 15, 2021, 05:44:32 AM
This is just a random thought.

If most of the gambling sites does not benefit from all these large transaction fees then why they are not integrarating the Lightning Network on their site? Though I am aware that it needs a lot of work in terms of technicalities involved in changing the whole backend and frontend code but isn't it that if at least they manage to integrate LN, the gambling platform could somehow gain traction for new players/clients?

Another pros is that we can also experience and practice making transaction over the Lightning Network which I think is a good experience.

Am I missing something why only few of them is using it?,
2267  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 play&invest BTC ETH LTC DOGE on: January 15, 2021, 04:17:57 AM
For me that's fascinating that people bashing new casinos if they don't have license, yet continue to play on unlicensed websites.
YOLOdice isn't a new gambling site. YOLOdice have been operating since year 2016 and I don't see or experienced any issues on their end. I am a gambler myself on their site, playing some of the bitcoin that I have earned on their campaign and I can vouch that they are operating smoothly which is something to be expected.

As far as I am concerned, gambling website who uses bitcoin as their medium of exchange does not really require a gambling license unless otherwise you are operating from a country where having a license is mandatory as well as when you are offering your services to other countries which also require a license. Although some of the casino are explicitly showing that they have a license, it doesn't guarantee that they will honestly do their job. Searching for a reviews here in bitcointalk is a lot more effective I think.

I wonder if these guide actually verifies the legitimacy of a license. I feel like it's too simple for a license verification process.

2268  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Conflicting data on Coingecko, why? on: January 15, 2021, 02:58:55 AM
whatever that has happened is a glitch, I hope it's fixed quickly.
As I see it. This is not a glitch on their end. Coingecko which has a total number of 421 exchanges listed on the top panel is accurate. The 421 includes the exchanges from both "Spot" and "Derivative" exchange.

Spot just like what you have mentioned, it has a total of 375 exchanges from both categories of Centralize and Decentralized. On the other hand, the Derivatives exchange category has a total of 46 which makes an overall number of 421 as expected.
2269  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Ledger: panibagong 20k customer data dump on: January 15, 2021, 02:11:39 AM
Just a heads up for those people who are still planning to buy their Ledger Hardware wallet kahit na sirang sira na yung image nila sa mga customers nila.

Also, as much as possible, ilagay ninyo yung P.O box or P.O address as the drop-off point ng parcel ninyo instead na Home address.

You can also request a deletion appeal ng personal info mo (kahit na fake ung nilagay mo or assuming na real info nilagay mo from your previous order).

If you wish to access, correct, modify or delete the personal information we have about you, object to their processing, exercise your right to portability, file a complaint, exercise any of the above-mentioned rights or simply obtain more information about the use of your personal data, please contact Ledger and its privacy Team at : privacy@ledger.fr

I start learning my technical analysis first and other trading related stuff that that can be found on the internet and remember that you don't need to pay a heck of a lot of money just to learn these stuff. Some of my favorite resources are here. You can also try to visit the Speculation board to give you a general idea on how T.A works.

2271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for Crypto Exchange for Margin Trading with high Margin amounts on: January 14, 2021, 08:38:16 AM
Where do I see the cost of the future? I mean when I do a margin trade, I have to pay interest on the borrowed amount. These futures should cost in a similar way right?

Thanks
You can use the calculator to determine what will be the margin of your trade based on your leverage, entry price, exit price and the amount of contract. I am not quite sure about the interest of your margin since it only serve as the collateral of your trading position. As far as I know, if you are on a losing position, your loss is automatically being reduced proportional from your total balance. Moreover, if you manually close your losing position; your margin will still return to your total balance minus the trading fee unless otherwise your position has been liquidated.

That is how I understand when I do Futures Trading.

2272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 25% of crypto users not securing assets as well as they think on: January 14, 2021, 06:28:45 AM
Trezor or Ledger, which one do you recommend? Both of them has been targeted with cyberattacks/phishing and malware recently.
As for the Ledger, you can actually provide false information in their website to avoid such risks of getting your personal information exposed to attackers. Let me quote one of my post regarding this.

Isn't it that this method would just do more harm than good as there is a greater possibility that they are selling tampered or compromised hardware wallet products? Although I am aware that they have a list of authorized resellers.

As far as I know, the safest way to purchase a hardware wallet is by going thru their official website and provide a false information to fill your real name, home address, email, phone number and what not upon purchasing. You can even provide a PO/ PO Box (Post Office) as the drop-off location for your parcel -- it would not be a problem tracking your package since Leger provides a tracking number upon purchase.

Moreover, as a customer, you also have the right to request in removing all the personal information you have provided in their website. Unfortunately, it's too late for me to able to request a deletion appeal on their website since their database has now been compromised  Roll Eyes

I am not just sure if Trezor has this kind of terms on their service.

On a side note, there are also existing threads that has a good discussion between the pros and cons of Ledger and Trezor.

2273  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ways to earn some ETH?? on: January 14, 2021, 05:03:37 AM
I highly suggest that you should upskill in order to have a decent stable income and eventually convert your fiat to ETH or perhaps try using cryptocurrency paying freelancing platform. @Jawhead999 is correct, earning crypto has the same principles on how you can earn fiat.

Don't know how to do Bounty.
I'll just waste your time. I've been there, done that. What I can suggest you to do is to have a decent job and then do Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) on ETH or offer some services here and get payed by ETH.

Some crypto freelancing site.

Apologize for a sudden bump, I just wanted to ask regarding on how we can claim the additional prize of winning merchandise set? How are we going to receive it? Providing a shipping address via privnote would be a good idea.
2275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you bought the dip? on: January 14, 2021, 03:42:00 AM
Nah! My commissioned drawing is currently having poor sales in my place and most of the revenues are being used for paying my tuition fees and stuff that I needed for day to day basis. Perhaps the only choice I only have is to Dollar Cost Average (DCA) whenever I got extra from various side hustles!

I wonder if there is still an instance where bitcoin can go down multifold as most of the people are now getting interested as compared from the previous years where skepticism from most people are present.
2276  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best Crypto Browser Extensions 2021 on: January 14, 2021, 12:38:28 AM
Isn't it that having lots of extension installed on your browser is more susceptible to hacking, hijacking incidents of your personal credentials such as wallet or passwords, private keys etc..? Though I could not agree more that most of these extension are extremely handy to save some time searching a particular site, however, I think it could expose your device from malicious attacks.

Most of the extension that I have installed are from the recommendations of this site.

Anyhow, thanks for listing the BPIP extension -- I never thought that it has an existing extension.

2278  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin correction thread. on: January 12, 2021, 12:15:21 PM
need to understand paano nagkakaroon ng correction
It simply means a decline of price from its recent high. As far as I know kaya nagkakaroon ng correction kasi most people or most of the traders believe that they need to sell at a specific price based on their technical analysis or maybe because they fear a long term downward trend (bearish) nag nag cause sa kanila to panic sell.

If you are trader who does charting every day mapapansin mo na most of the time kapag may naabot na certain price for the first time ang common case ay palaging rejected kasi doon madalas nakatambay yung majority ng mga sellers to make a profit.

Yup, that's the basic concept ng supply and demand. Price always depends on the agreed price value for selling or buying.

Like for example.

And since market order yung gamit niya, pipili yung exchange ng pinakamurang selling price which is yung kay Jane na nasa price point na 35,310 USD. What will happen is, magkakaroon ng 0.729 BTC si Dale at makakatanggap naman ng 25,600 USD si Jane at mayroon na lang siyang natitirang 3.271 BTC.

And since ang pinaka frequent price point ay 35,310 USD. That's is how price changes continuously.
2279  Economy / Exchanges / Re: trading futures on binance exchange? on: January 11, 2021, 11:33:51 AM
anyone here who might be more proficient in trading can share advice and experience?
Aside for everyone else's advice. Lean some technical analysis. T.A is the most important fundamental skills that you need to become proficient trader in the long run and this will allow you to reduce the risk of every trade you make regardless of what type of market you are using whether it is Futures, Spot, Stocks and what not.

T.A will allow you to have a definite trading plan that includes your entry and exit point as well as defining your stop loss. This way, you won't be trading blindy. More importantly, many traders forgot how important risk management is when it comes to their trading journey. This is the reason why many players instantly loses their money after a few trades without getting a chance to re-enter the market.

On a side note, perhaps you can also try binance testnet to practice the mechanics of any market just so to get you feet wet.

2280  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who has the best rates for cashing out? on: January 11, 2021, 07:51:16 AM
What's the difference between Localbitcoins and Binance?
They're both an exchange but they are different in terms of classification. Localbitcoin is one of the few P2P (Peer to peer) exchange platform while Binance is the most popular centralized bitcoin exchange that exist. Its just Binance also implemented P2P exchange inside their platform. However, the best rates depends on what country you are living and how are you going to tackle issues with regards to your personal information as some of the exchange like Binance requires KYC/AML verification for you to be able to trade crypto to fiat currency.

Try to canvas the exchange price manually as most of them have different terms. Try using preev to instantly browse exchange rate from four different platforms.

Or perhaps try checking these P2P platforms if you are concern about not going for KYC/AML verification.
