2292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt source code flaw reports on: January 03, 2014, 09:42:33 PM
Frictionless

Did you even read the code?
The proof of stake is hard coded in with the founder's acct numbers and the number of NXT they started with. The genesis block is created from scratch and the blockchain starts from there.

By starting with 100% of the NXT issued to the founders in the hardcoded block, as long as every transfer of NXT is accounted for properly the proof of stake is maintained.

James

Isn't it obvious to you all now?

All he knows is the 10 cookbook recipes he's been learning in college for the past 4 years.

Frictionless is one of those dudes who thinks he's a genius because of what he knows. This is the real-world dude, not an algorithm found in a textbook
2293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] Bitcoin Heists "The Second Generation" - With Proof on: January 03, 2014, 08:24:52 PM
This thread does not include alt-coins based on BTC, LTC... Quark or etc. These are working models with their own niches and marketing. No matter how much pumping and dumping goes on, their is a profit to be made for investors.

Specifically, this thread is to highlight all the recent "second generation" Crypto-currency threads asking for BTC in exchange for numbers on a spreadsheet.

Provide some evidence before you make an accusation towards the particular coin.
2294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 03, 2014, 08:13:20 PM
Since I need to take a day off of programming, here's the first version of my, yet unnamed, NXT client for Windows.

As it is, it's really more of a block chain explorer (you can't send NXT, register aliases, etc. and you are currently not asked for secret phrases for accounts).

Unzip the archive to a directory and start the NXTclient.exe. Make sure that NRS is running locally, or enter an URL like "http://192.168.178.12:7874" when asked (it defaults to "http://127.0.0.1:7874").

The data subdirectory holds the blockchain data in proprietary format as of an hour ago. To import new blocks/transactions from the NRS blockchain into the client, click on the little Refresh icon and relax.

All the data in the blockchain explorer part can't be edited (since it's imported from and in synx with NRS), except for the column "Description" in the list of accounts.

The interface is still very, let's say functional - no bells and whistles yet.

NXTclient-v1.0.zip (28.2 MB) - Download: https://mega.co.nz/#!ONd3XCLQ!O_xx-C6os70pe41Tc3j6CmoUTEl6922SDytC8WD8lko

SHA256 checksum for NXTclient-v1.0.zip: 485735CCB66323E6F0FBF016A4D15134263D6970A9AA81E82CFF5D1AF17C9FEC

Next on my TODO list:

  • Add aliases to blockchain explorer
  • Send NXT function and personal account management

Hope it's already helpful for anyone (e.g. when the online NXT blockchain explorer is down).

Of course, I would not feel like a real NXTer without asking for tips...  Wink NXT: 1758531264253431177

Great work! Looks great.

Show us some proof this coin is in the making. Instead of logos, names and an unfinished website.

I truly feel bad for all the investors just giving away BTC to this project without any hard evidence.

Dear friends,

first of all, we are not related to Visacoin by any means. I don't see any similarities with Visocoin except that we both used google docs. Visacoin is totally differend coin from ours.
Although, we totally understand your concerns, so in this case we are lowering the maximum amount of BTC donation to 1 BTC. We would even suggest you to donate a lower amount and not be paranoid. We want to sleep well, and I bet you do to. We have jobs, we have bills to pay, so to see huge progress overnight just can't happen, it's unreal.
Development is a long-term process, so it will take time to see the progress. Patience please. Some smaller things going to see the sunlight pretty soon.
Please send the amount of BTC that you can afford to lose in worst case scenario, because there is always a chance to fail, so do not risk your money. Either you trade, either you gamble at the casino or donate to a new project - it's going to be risky. We admit that.
To show our true intentions towards this project, we would gladly refund your donation if you changed your mind after this post.

On the other hand, the suggested coin called "Shares" is a true scam from the beginning.
Their topic appeared after a few hours when our topic was posted.
They used some of our description parts to describe their coin, for example:

"Verocoin is based on PoS (proof-of-stake) system, so VRC transaction fees will be divided equally to all users based on the amount of VRC a client has or have had."

The same exact sentence was used in Shares topic:
"Shares is based on PoS (proof-of-stake) system, so SHS transaction fees will be divided equally to all users based on the amount of SHS a client has or have had."

And you can find other sentences as well if you will look closely.
Plus, I don't see any possibilities in Shares mining scheme for users to benefit from the total amount of SHS they have had. That's just random.

ireneang, please stop posting disinformation.

Show us 25 lines of your code, or a screenshot of something that will merit this project. Otherwise this is a bitcoin heist and you will be reported
