The cause and effect goes both ways, but mainly because of the market giants.

I agree that it goes both ways, but to say that it started because giants piled in precludes a reason for them to pile into this coin instead of others.  The giants in your version of events are lacking a motive.

The giants do not need motive now, the markets are activated. The only time the motive was clear, was the initial spike of Doge's value.

Now, it's just a game controlled by a few

So many people are watching doge, that any sudden rise in price will spawn an entire army investors. And you can almost thank bitcoin for that also, BTC is not an exciting quick profit market anymore.
1522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help me to understand dogecoin price increase on: February 12, 2014, 04:02:24 AM
Everyone should know something about DOGE:

There are major high stake traders in the DOGE game, they ride on the psychological and social waves of the coin. Doge is being support by these kind of people, they have little or no interest on what DOGE represents and means to people.. they are only in for the large amounts of profits to be made

Contrary to what people think, it's not the average person who likes cute doge pictures, they are merely the funnels for the piggy banks.

Doesn't this happen with EVERY popular coin?  You have cause and effect reversed.  The coin isn't popular because there are whales in it.  The whales are in it because it is popular.

The cause and effect goes both ways, but mainly because of the market giants.

Doge is going through a major sell off right now, do not buy unless it shows signs of recovery.

And especially if you are a new trader, i would hold off buying all-together.
1526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trade and Market Trends hints and tips -- @currencyadviser on: February 11, 2014, 07:56:22 PM
Big difference for doge on BTER vs Cryptsy. Trading @ 269 satoshi or so on cryptsy and 254 satoshi on BTER

Generally, BTER is the defining price for DOGE, so don't putt all your eggs with DOGE just this minute.

1529  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Speculation 2014 on: February 11, 2014, 08:21:24 AM
My speculation:

Based on Technical Analysis and market psychology I believe bitcoin will crash and stabilize around 100-200$.
I think levels at 100-200 could be good levels for a speculative Risk-Reward investment long term.
Maybe we get 5000-10,000 $ in a couple of years if bitcoin manages to compete against 1000 of altcoins.

This is why i hate technical analysis of markets, but it's a necessary evil in certain scenarios suchas when i traded on FOREX, real world markets. At this very moment, this type of analysis does not pertain to bitcoin or any digital currency.

You are forgetting the social aspect that are behind bitcoin now, and that's people. It's a whole different playing field then 1 year ago when it was a bandits currency.

In summary: you can't apply a technical analysis when something changes as drastic as bitcoin, the adoption is still growing and becoming more widely accepted worldwide. Bitcoin is still very unknown to the masses.
Technical Analysis is about FACTS (actual trades)
what we say about the future is always SPECULATIONS but I prefer to base my speculation on FACTS rather than OPINIONS and IDEALISM.

Tech Analysis can't see the future, it only predicts based on past and the present outcomes. The most important variable is not factored into the equation, that is the social-world (every single tiny detail that has to do with human interaction).

To a degree a graph is telling us the social-world-history of bitcoin, but it's not telling us the seeds that have been planted and are growing as we speak.

I'm tired right now, maybe you can understand the reason in my logic when you apply something like this to bitcoin. I'm not knocking tech analysis or the facts it states, because i do believe in the concept... but, it does not pertain to this particular scenario. Bitcoin is still a baby and growing up, not a full matured stock the minute it was launched on an exchange.

1530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -- The Riddle of the father and son - Who Was, is and Will Rule the World! on: February 11, 2014, 08:06:15 AM

Well said, TK.

You're absolutely right.  And it won't take long simply because this industry is moving at the speed of light and major players will be forced to move and take positions as the growth is so hyper.

So it won't take 5 years, and I don't even think it will take 5 months before we know much more and Bitcoin and iXcoin jump to the next [massive] price level [~$5,000 for BTC and $5-$10 for IXC].

on a side note, it would only take 5-10btc to consume the entire (current) IX market on cryptsy. If anyone has that working capital and is reading this, buy out the entire market and you will be making a profit from the hype train that will train behind you.

There is no more IX to really buy anymore, there are only 5-20 people dumping a few ix here and there daily.

I think, the majority of IX has been lost or soaked up by some giants
1531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -- The Riddle of the father and son - Who Was, is and Will Rule the World! on: February 11, 2014, 07:58:57 AM

TK808,

Thanks for that.  I was starting to feel lost without that kind of encouragement to keep me going.  Lol.

I'm tired, and you always have so much energy when it comes to IX. Which is totally awesome.

Only cause I truly believe the crazy shit I'm preaching. People think I'm a sales guy but I'm not, I'm more of an engineer type (economists are a lot like engineers) but when I truly believe in something then I can sell it to just about anyone.

In the last month I got my brother (who is poor) and my best friend (who is newly wed and broke) to buy 100,000 IXC [combined].  And my mom and dad are almost ready to buy double that but I don't think they'll pull the trigger in time as they want to set up separate wallets, separate accounts and talk it over with their CPA, etc.

I would never suggest such a risky investment to anyone I cared about unless I completely did my research and truly believed it had a substantial chance of paying off in a big way [the enormous risk must equal the potential reward].

So I want people to know this is a long term investment for me - I may trade some coins if/when it hits my ~$10 target but I believe in the future of iXcoin so much that I will do all I can to sell as little as possible and to buy back everything I sell on any price dips, because if I'm right then there is much more at play here than profits.

Soon we will know if all this madness is true...very soon (Q1-Q2, 2014).

I'm sorry to hear that man. But your risk will not go unrewarded. I can promise you that from all my experience so far in invest and trading for over 5 years.

Just take it easy, sit back and enjoy the ride.

I'm going to sleep

I wanna go on record saying that this latest Russian stunt where they banned Bitcoin is just another game they're playing to throw off suspicion that they're actually going all-in into Bitcoin with China.

Bitcoin will be backed in a huge way by Russia and China and it should become very obvious later this year.

The U.S. is dragging its feet because of all the conflict of interest from the major banks which, in the short run have a lot to lose, while in the long run the banks gain almost as much power and wealth as the government.

So by the time the U.S. wakes up, China and Russia will own too much Bitcoin for the U.S. to be able to go all-in as the east would then be massively enriched by the massive wealth transfer of the west into BTC.  So then, the U.S. and Europe (and their alies) will be forced to find a competing coin which they can market in such a way that people will embrace it as they do Bitcoin.

This has been my theory from day one and it's more obvious to me now, more than ever, that the coin they will choose will be iXcoin.

By the way, the board seats being quickly evacuated (first Shrem and now Kapelas) is a contingency move by the CIA to keep Russia and China from taking total control of Bitcoin, for whoever controls the foundation controls the entire Bitcoin protocol so even if China and Russia buy into Bitcoin, the U.S. can sabotage Bitcoin in the future by sabotaging the protocol in a way that will cause the masses to embrace a different coin (i.e. iXcoin) over Bitcoin.

Expect more surprise BTC foundation seats to be emptied [very soon] which will undoubtedly be replaced by hand-picked CIA and fed puppets.

So the first thing that will happen if I'm right is Russia will soon (30-90 days) change their minds [full 180] and go from banning Bitcoin to being all for it and they and china will slowly get behind it more and more and by end of this year - latest 9/2015, China and Russia will be completely and openly behind Bitcoin.

And iXcoin will take the West and its allies! (by end of 2015)

Can I please get a:  "You're insane!"  Since Bitcoin hit my $1200 price target nobody has called me that.  lol

I do believe Russia is not out of Bitcoin, it was just a diversion for the west. Like you said, much like china, Russia is going to retract that statement and say they are all-in on bitcoin

Now pertaining to IXcoin, it's a matter of time before it gets picked up in a big way. I'm not too knowledged on how IX feeds off the bitcoin network and which coins actually do, i know NMC does and some others.

But what i can say is from my experience, is security and reducing risk are the number 1 prioritys for investors. And in this case we are talking about a whole different secrurity aspect, with is the network which in turn reduces the risk dramatically. Ix is about the safest, most profitable venture anyone could be in at this very moment.

90% of alt-coins are going to eventually die, this is the fate. But iX is going to be alive as long as bitcoin stays alive. And that's years and decades from now.

So no matter how much you look at the current scenario, just know IX will still be very much alive (even if it stays current market price) 20 years from now.

Now we all know, IX will not remain under the radar for 5-10 years. Almost impossible, it's only a matter of time before it gets fucking consumed by giants of the markets, this goes for NMC too.

iX is never going to die. If it dies, bitcoin had already died too. There is an unlimited amount of time for IX to grow. I know i diverted from your theory a lot, but cheers Vlad

1534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: February 11, 2014, 07:42:08 AM
can someone remind me how to add nodes (and what to add) to my windows wallet please... it's still saying invalid address, whenever I try to send coinage. mac wallet working fine.  thanks.

One moment, dump your IX.

But i'm pretty sure they overlooked your post by accident.

thanks   Wink

Alright, so you can open the client and open the command console

Type (without quotes)  "addnode --the node IP-- add"

So like:

addnode 24.34.40.175 add

Or option 2, you make a text file in notepad, past this inside:

    addnode=24.34.40.175

    addnode=142.4.208.71

    addnode=24.42.148.53

    addnode=184.78.215.89

    addnode=62.75.167.48

    addnode=83.163.120.176

    addnode=123.203.84.34

    addnode=86.93.208.193

Then once finished save and rename it to ixcoin.conf

Place that in appdata/ixcoin

If you need more detailed explanation let me know. Also you will have to restart your client if you do .conf

OK, so.. still saying 'invalid address' when I try to send coins from the windows wallet.

there is no folder appdata/ixcoin
command console does not know what 'addnode' is

okay, i'm not sure about the addnode, but it may because of the old client.

Open up My computer:

Click C drive/users/your name/appdata/roaming/ixcoin

Appdata may be a hidden folder, so click the menu bar > tools > folder options > view > show hidden files and folders

place the ixconf in that folder.

I'm not sure why you can't send, you may need to fully synch?

told you they wouldn't mention your sad excuse for a currency

I'm not a big fan of DOGE coin, but there are bigger problems with this:

It's not really just a slap to DOGE, it's a backlash for all digital currencies. What if bitcoin supported this team? I'm sure they wouldn't have mentioned that either.

I think that's the real issue here
1538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cool Runnins' - Jamaican bobsled coach thanks public for raising funds on: February 11, 2014, 07:23:58 AM
Didn't Doge save this team, and not 1 mention of it?

I smell an agenda from a high authority blocking promotion of DOGE or digital currencies for that matter
