Yeah, this would hurt bitcointalk for the future. There is more profit potential (then currently) to be made in the future from alts. That's what keeps the fire burning in alt-currencies, not bitcoin alone. Bitcoin is just the gateway drug. Just depends on the philosophy of how to proceed. But 1 thing is certain, alt-currencies will never go away, Even if they remove this entire section. |

Well, you promised coins for early adopters... Where are they? 60 SMC for pre-registration. Tell me or update OP with this info. There where over 1500+ people who signed up. They have to process each email one by one, and generate a redemption code. Several people have gotten their awards, just look in the past pages. I'm sure you will be getting yours in 1-2 days. Have patients, the devs have been working very hard to have a successful first week. Also, giveaways have been banned on the forums if you didn't know already. I suggest watching the official smartcoin forums, that's where all the hosted giveaways will be. Why dev didn't update the op with this info? I asked the dev if i could help him answer questions in this thread, because i wanted to show a lot of support this coin. eToken failed because the dev could not handle everything on his own. I was disappointed, i don't want the same thing to happen with SMC. The devs have more room to respond to the 100s of pm's and maintaining the websites/forums/giveaways and the chatroom. ^^ I see that the dev is unclean. Looks like he is going to hide smth. I rarely support any bitcoin/ltc clone these days. I mainly invest in 2nd generation/technology advanced coins. But, I am supporting smartcoin, due to the effort and time. If you read the first post, they've been planning this launch for about 2 weeks now, they wanted to launch with everything ready to go. They already have several pools, block explorer and on a minor trade site. That's a lot for just the 2nd or third day of the official launch. Smartcoin seems very promising, because the devs behind it are actually working hard. Unlike 90% of the alt coins that are just a copy-paste and go. Edit: Smartcoin was officially announced January 5th. Just to give you some perspective on how long ago it was announced before launch. |

i hope cryptsy stops taking premined coins.
There is greedy pre-mine then there is a good pre-mine. If the devs are willing to work and promote their coin, then i have no problem with it. If there is no pre-mine, there is no incentive to really keep the coin updated, healthy and promote a fruitful community to support the coin. Everyone has their own opinion on pre-mined coins anyways. |
