2281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: August 11, 2023, 07:23:21 PM

Most times it is not all about risk-taking. We all know that men take more risk than women, but this does not mean that women do not take risk at all. I have seen women who take tisk, but at least the take risk that can return reward. I mean a risk that is not that high but they are sure that they will have something in return. It is better to say that women do not like to lose money.
So in anything that they are not sure of they would likely not to venture into it. There is a difference between not being a risk-taker and not being ready to lose money. So, gambling is not all about risk-taking but all about losing money

I think that aspect where you said women don't like to lose money is just what will knock off women for not being risk takers in gambling. As far as gambling is concern, you have to be ready and prepared to lose money and this is where the male folks are considered better gamblers than women because from such high risk they take, they mostly win big than the female folks. When women hold tight to their money, they fear to stake higher and sometimes they back out but this is different with men because they are ready to lose money and when they are winning, the return is big.
2282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You must do this if you want to QUIT or NOT on: August 11, 2023, 05:20:26 PM

It's very hard to win against the house even though in some cases you might be lucky but an annoying fact still stand and that's the fact that the money won will still always circle back to the house being victorious.

This the unfortunate thing about the gamblers journey. No real gambler runs off because they have won some huge money. They end up playing like an habit to play, like a business venture etc. So the house will keep getting some percentage of the winning back until the whole winning goes back to them. So if someone want to be a profitable gambler, it is better to immediately invest some part of the win you have gotten before you continue playing.
2283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You must do this if you want to QUIT or NOT on: August 11, 2023, 03:15:37 PM
And I'm not going to talk about other people in this case, before I want to ask first, have you ever had the thought of continuing to play in order to pursue victory or restore defeat? I have, but it goes back to whether we are able to control it or not.
"Let's try again, let's try again" Lol, I've felt it but I can suppress it and return to logical thinking, so that I can prevent losing more than I lost in the past.
Oh yes, additionally, intention alone is not enough either, because it must be with action.

Let's try again is not strange to any gambler so you are not the first non will you be the last to use the word whether for positive result or negative result  Grin So it is something that is in the lips of gamblers who are losing. Those who lose always want to try another luck and they will keep losing until they either give up and run away with what is left or losing everything. This is a sign that you are drawing yourself closer to addiction when you can't accept losses to move on. A gambler who is not satisfied with losing will definitely fall for more losses .
2284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: August 11, 2023, 02:22:02 PM

If you have gotten to a stage of taking loan to gamble, then the addiction has gone far already, I don’t really know what push people to take loan just because they want to gamble, it’s a really bad behavior, that’s why if some people lose in gambling, they always end up committing suicide, because some of them took loan to gamble, and their is no way they can pay back the loan, so they believe their is nothing left for them and the only thing they can do is to commit suicide.

Nothing else will push a gambler to collect loan if they are not addicted and that is why when they lose they are frustrated to commit suicide most times depending on the value of the loan and there are no source of repayment.

If you play with your money and lose then the thought of commiting suicide won't come to your mind because you are the one who has the money, you can only feel bad and get over it after sometime but when your creditor threaten with all sort of problem including litigation to retrieve his money then those who see themselves as hopeless would want to go closer to bridge to take a dive into the sea or poison themselves.
2285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: August 11, 2023, 11:21:35 AM

Actually gambling using signature campaign payment is good because as you said signature campaign isn't stable income, so you're just gamble using a free money you make in this forum while the money you earn from job in real life already allocated for your monthly need.

You can plan yourself with the free money that come your way if you save and pragmatic or prudent in your spending. You don't have to gamble all your signature campaign earnings for the week and expect another next week. You can gamble some portion and save some and invest in some coins like bitcoin and that is the way to live responsibly because nothing last forever. Your side hussle may still turn to be your saviour if you plan very well and not to lavish it because it is called free money. Drops of water can gather together and fill a glass of water.
2286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Irresponsible behavior at the Las Vegas Casino on: August 11, 2023, 09:45:57 AM

Whole story cribs down to the direction of gamblers maintaining the ideology of gambling responsibly to avoid such... And stay away from drinking while gambling, both doesn't go hand in hand.

Well despite the drinking rule against casino, you will still see people who are drinking while in casono. It is a kind of attachment that is inseparable. First, offline casinos themselves have bars where people still relax with cool drinks so it is difficult to erase that attachment away. They say don't drink and drive but people still go ahead to do both, it is unfortunate.
2287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there real sports bet groups on: August 11, 2023, 07:04:32 AM

The main problem of these groups is to find right group. The main part of them post random predictions and get money from the subscribers. They don`t care the results of their predictions.

They give excuses for failure while you have already subscribed. The excuses is for those games that they are able to predict rightly and they make you feel there are some that they were right. However, there is something about such paid groups, they avoid predicting more than one or two games per day or for sometime to avoid consistant failure. Which means they go for sure games that are already in public domain as a game that everyone is going for. Most times if they predict more games, it doesn't turn out good.

The same time, there are groups with true predictions, when the owner get percent from the winning. He is interested in the result of prediction but it is a problem to find such groups.

If it is a problem to find such groups, that means they may not be existing in the whole of the perfection of the prediction because it is still based on luck. It is actually difficult for someone to give out what source he makes easy money from just for a monthly subscription.

* Drinking moderately can improve sexual function in men.

You will need to explain this more because I have not heard it that taking alcohol can help a man sexual performance. Rather what I have heard is that alcohol is likely not to help a man in sexual performance. I believe that we should do things in moderation because whatever we do excessively is an abuse and likely to demage our system. Those who are addicted to alcohol have not confirmed that help sexual performance rather I think what affects sexual performance is mostly age. You don't expect an older person man or woman to as active as a younger person.
2289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sudden Wealth Syndrome (SWS) In Gambling on: August 10, 2023, 07:26:19 PM
I haven't heard of this before, but that's certainly something to keep in mind if that ever happens. I guess the good thing is that is a person's wealthy and experiences these symptoms, it's totally affordable to go to therapy and work through this. I've never won life-changing amounts of money, so I haven't experienced that, but it certainly should not be disregarded, and it's better to plan ahead for it. It's kind of like the midlife crisis. You don't know if you are to experience it, but it's better to be aware of that in advance, so that it's not unexpected.

I have heard of it and I know what it is and I know that people do experience it but I have not. I think it is what will happen to a man at least once in his life time. I can relate it to opportunity come but once and one is expected to make use of such opportunity of huge amount of money presented to him either in lottery or winning a bet. However, we don't need to allow our life to be stagnant in expectation of making it or hitting the jackpot one day, we have to keep moving in our endeavor so that if such opportunity comes, it will become an added advantage and if it doesn't come, we are still good.
2290  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is bitcoin a legal tender or not. Why? on: August 10, 2023, 06:23:04 PM

To clear the air about the whole argument I considered I should share this in the forum to have a clear stand if bitcoin is a legal tender or not.

The debate about the legality of bitcoin is jurisdiction based. That is it depends on the country that you are pointing to or referring to. So it can not be generalized.

For example you can say bitcoin is a legal tender in El Salvador because it is the country known so far to all that has declared it and backed it by their law as legal tender, that means it use can not be rejected by someone in El Salvador for not being a legal tender. But we can't say because it is legal tender in El Salvador therefore it is a legal tender some where else when they have not made it a law as legal tender.
2291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anonymity is no longer a benefit of gambling with cryptocurrency. on: August 10, 2023, 05:37:39 PM
I totally disagree on the use of KYC to counter money launderer since it’s useless in crypto because everything is decentralized and it’s very hard to spot user that laundering money and differentiates it to the normal player.

I think with the KYC on some crypto-centralised platforms like exchanges or casinos, money looting or ill-gotten gains with money can still be detected, but that's when the wallet that holds the coin has been flagged, and if it's been flagged, the centralised platform to which that coin is being deposited can freeze your asset. Depending on whether they are aware that the sender's wallet is flagged or if it's a casino that you deposited to and you also pass KYC with them, they can hand over your personal details to the investigation team that is involved, and the victim can be traced and get caught. Unless it's a crypto casino that doesn't require KYC, even if they don't require KYC but get notified that a deposit has entered their platform from a flagged wallet, if they fail to comply, the casino can still get charged by the government.

That is possible yes since you can trace which wallet that an illegal or flagged wallet address is coming from. This is also as it happens with the banks, they can trace a flagged account and in their case restrict it or limit the transaction that goes there. In cryptocurrency, whether KYC or not, government can mandate a casino on a flagged wallet if they suspect any transaction from it

2294  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The fate of Democracy in West Africa shakes on: August 09, 2023, 06:05:30 PM

As a Nigerian, I hope this coup will not affect our security, economic stability, or political stability.

It will definitely affect Nigeria, Nigerian people and their economy. In fact it is already affecting the states that share borders to Niger because of the closure of boarders. Closer of boarders means no bilateral trades and both neighbors in Niger and Nigerian states will have the first impact.

It will affect our security and everything if Bola tinubu allows himself to be used by the Euro or Americans to instigate ECOWAS to use military on Niger. If he doesn't read the hand writing on the war and goes on to do that despite the challenges of illegitimacy of his government that is still challenged in court, those West Africa countries that have pledged support for Niger like Burkina Faso, Mali etc will come in from different Nigerian states and that will mean disaster for Nigeria because the Nigerian military is already stretched in fighting of boko haram and other insurgence in the country. So he should better play cool.

The African politicians are the cause of insecurity and coup that they witness because they are selfish, corrupt and will not allow democratic tenets to grow, no rule of law, they don't obey court judgement. In fact no difference with West Africa democracy and military rule.
2295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Healthy mindset to save earnings from gambling on: August 09, 2023, 05:16:16 PM
It’s easy to win in gambling especially if you are more than lucky and have perfected some skills in gambling,

How is gambling easy when you rely on luck. What is easy is what people win at ease but not what depends on luck because it is not everyone that is lucky. Some people have not been lucky in anything all their lives not because they are not good at what they do.

And once you see profits from gambling, separate your profits from your spare cash. When you lose your cash, call it a day. Go home without worries.

This is a good idea and advise. Don't always relax because you have been on a winning mode. Safeguard the winnings you have had by setting a budget to play with incase you lose the current game.
2296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: August 09, 2023, 04:55:12 PM

Inner will-power or self-control is the only way to control any form of gambling addiction if you ask me.

The state where you lose self control then you will slide into addiction as you keep going into the game frequently whether you are winning or not. In all lives endeavor, if there is no self control then the person will act irrationally because he has no control of his actions. A bettor on a winning mode will keep playing irrespective of his win likewise he who is losing just because the will power of control has been lost.
2297  Economy / Economics / Re: New Research found Work from home workers to be less productive on: August 09, 2023, 02:54:05 PM
Do you think that if workers are given the chance to "own" a task like freelancers they'll be more productive because it is just like being self-employed where you treat it as your business and not with the mindset of another man's business?

It depends on the nature of job. Freelancing jobs for instance may not need instead delivery, you are given some time to produce what you are working on. In fact, working from home is more suitable for a freelancing job but if you work in an environment where you need to attend to people on a daily basis then you will be short of performance because you can't do such job in proxy, so it all depends. The research isn't correct as such. If you are a crypto investments analyst then you don't need to be at your office all day to do such job.
2298  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: August 09, 2023, 02:26:47 PM

Those that keep their gambling habit a secret is it that they're not proud of what they are doing?.

It is not that they are not proud of what they do but we live in a world of psychopath that people expect you to behave in certain way which is the norms and custom that people are known with.

There could be two are three reasons that I can justify that people hide such gambling habit and one is that of religion and family upbringing/background. It is like the case we treated here where a boy from religious home won $46k from sports bet but couldn't freely disclose to his parents who are religious people.

Another reason could be the marriage status. If a man is married and the wife doesn't like gambling, while the man does, it is likely that the man will continue but will hide it from the wife. I have seen a man who hides his gambling habit from the wife but other people know about it, sometimes the woman criticize gamblers and vouch for his husband that he doesn't involve in such unrewarding venture but people would laugh at her ignorance.

Another reason could be what people will say, that is the society especially when they don't know you are gambling. If you are a prig then you are likely to be hiding your gambling habit.
2299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: August 09, 2023, 01:00:03 PM

If I get the chance to win a lot of money, I will stop and withdraw the money because I may not have another chance to win anymore. Instead I can lose money in the next round, I better stop gambling and get out of the casino. It can help us to maintain the self-control that we are practicing so that we can continue to be aware that we cannot always win, let alone win a lot. We also have to know that in gambling, we can't always win after getting a win.

This is easy with someone who is not a gambler but have just tried few times and accidentally got a winning. Such person can decide to back out but for someone who does gambling often times, he won't stop gambling because he has won some money from the casino because he understand that it is his turn to win and the luck has come to him. He can only be careful not to lose more than he has been losing already. It is greed that make a bettor to lose higher than he has been losing because he wants to take higher risk.
2300  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin on Weekly looks Dangerous on: August 09, 2023, 09:08:07 AM
I’m not seeing danger when I look at that chart. It seems to clearly show that the market has been steadily pushing up since bottoming and is still within the trading range. If anything I think it shows that now would be a good time to buy if the market does remain bullish. I’m expecting the next 6 months to be good ones for holders.

I would rather be patient a little more till the month ends because I see from op's chart that it is gradually pointing at 24,500 which is a support. So if it gets there and bounce of then one can comfortably buy in , or to wait and see how the month price will end. The expectation of next six months depends whether the price will bounce on 24,500 because that seem a strong support or whether it will go do further or bounce off for bull continuation.
