2301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do ordinary people feel afraid of Bitcoin? on: February 16, 2021, 05:50:20 AM
Isn't it obvious people will be skeptical of new "technologies"? "Ordinary" people follows the mainstream media. They don't bother doing their own research. They start believing whatever they read on the internet and this is why they feel scared of using bitcoin or investing in cryptocurrencies.
Let me tell you why. Let's say someone invests in bitcoin. He makes a lot of profit. His coins are safe. He is happy. He doesn't bother telling everyone how much profit he made or how "easy" everything became for him. Now lets consider another person who invested in bitcoin but met a series of unfortunate events. He loses a lot through his investment, his wallets got hacked or the exchange he was using froze his account. This person then reports it everywhere. Starts spreading news about his misfortune and how bitcoin fucked up his life. And these are news the "mainstream" media publishes and people read. Hence all those horror stories are what are driving people away from investing in crypto currencies.
2302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do we lose at gambling? on: February 16, 2021, 05:38:23 AM
So are you trying to fix your mistakes you made on the list to win more? It is not going to happen. No matter what "startegies" or "techniques" you use, you will always lose in the long run since the house always wins due to the house edge.
So stop thinking that you will no longer "lose" if you manage to counter the problems you have faced before. You will still lose if you keep on playing. So make sure once you make your profit (or enough loss), cashin your profits and quit.
2303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla buys 1.5 BILLION worth Bitcoins !! Good or Bad ? on: February 15, 2021, 07:19:20 PM
-snip-

CEO Elon Musk has been credited for raising the prices of cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, through his messages on Twitter

They think it will help with more Flexibility and at the same time increase the cash returns .

BUT what am worried about is :
The market manipulation by Elon Musk that did happen this month on twitter , it was not only bad but at the same time it could mean that he plans to do such things in the future.

-snip-
[/quote]
I doubt he has "manipulated" the market. At least not yet. We could say he is manipulating the market if he started promoting crypto currencies after tesla invested in bitcoin. We have been seeing him being a big fan of crypto currencies and promoting them before all these happened.
But who knows what his intention might be. Maybe he is testing the market to see how much influence he can extert before starting to make profit out of it. But lets all take it in a positive way. Let us imagine he is a good guy trying to promote the usage of crypto currencies.
2304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does any project use the power of all the unused smartphones worldwide? on: February 15, 2021, 06:55:27 PM
I have seen some "projects" using the power of smartphone. But guess what? Almost 99.99% of those projects are scam! They use your smartphones computational power to either do something else, or they just collect data, sells them and shares a minuscle portion of the profit they make with you. Not worth the power you will be spending. Again, smartphones aren't "capable" or built to be used for heavy computational purpose 24/7.

There are so many possibilities therefore. Right now I had the idea of creating a decentralised internet (or messenger at least) based on Bluetooth (or wifi) p2p Network, so it still works after the regular internet may break down.
Bluetooth and wifi based p2p messaging system already exists. People use those when the government shutdowns internet due to political unrest.
Internet? I doubt that's possible. Risks plus efficiency would be a problem.
2305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is in the final stages! on: February 15, 2021, 06:50:49 PM
Did you do your own research or randomly read an article about it? If it is the latter one, don't forget about FUDs the media tries to spread. If its the former one, then yeah might be true (unless you are trying to spread FUDs). But I have a strong feeling that a correction is about to hit bitcoin soon. We have seen the price going up and up, with slight dips that recovered quickly. I would be actually glad if the correction happens as soon as possible. After all, all its going to do is create a healthy market.
2306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Updated list of countries that are not friends to Bitcoin. on: February 13, 2021, 03:33:23 PM

Here's a list of some countries with some strong policies and laws against crypto.

(1) China - Since 2017, there has been a ban on all domestic and foreign cryptocurrency exchanges.

Not surprised. What else can you expect from a country that shamelessly operates as totalitarianism and has imbued with personality cultism?

(2) Russia - Since Jan 2021, the Russian government issued a new statement stating that it's citizens can own and trade with crypto, however, they will not be allowed to use it as a legal tender for goods or services  within the country.
What's wrong over here? In general, most of the countries never declared bitcoin or any crypto currencies as a legal tender. I think only few (maybe?) selected countries consider bitcoin as a legal tender.

(3) Iran - Since 2018, the Iranian authorities issud a law prohibiting financial institutions from dealing on and with bitcoin and other cryptocurrency.

So can their people do p2p trading? Or is that banned too?

(6) Nigeria - Most recently, this country joined the list. The government of the country has issued a warning to financial institutions to stop activities with crypto exchanges and also threatens to arrest individuals who try to use their bank accounts to transact with crypto exchanges.
Heard about this. Quite surprising to be honest. I remember reading somewhere that Nigeria had a huge community of bitcoin users. I wonder why the government put a ban all of a sudden.
(7) Colombia - There is a order in Colombia by the government to financial institutions not to work with individuals or companies that use bitcoin and other related cryptocurrencies.

Others countries on the list are; Cambodia, Algeria, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Nepal etc
(Feel free to add your own)

At least the list isn't that big. What I have noticed is that countries that aren't politcally stable (or act like they are polictically stable) are the ones that had banned bitcoin. Wouldn't be surprised if it had to do something with existing "corruptions".
2307  Economy / Services / Re: Those who run a live casino or are considering investing in this business on: February 13, 2021, 05:33:36 AM
Not the right place to look for "investors" or partners to start a gambling business. All you will do is attract some scammers trying to rip your off. How about you look for people that you know in real life and willing to start a casino business with you?
I doubt any of the existing well known casino would like to collaborate with you. If they needed any investment, they would open up investment options on their casino. Small casinos might work with you, but the risk to profit ratio over here is high.
2308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People die from heart attack when they hit the jackpot. on: February 12, 2021, 06:52:05 PM
You know how google works right? It will show what you are "looking" for. It will match all the keywords that you are searching and will show up on the top.
Have you clicked on any of those articles? Looks like none of them died from a heart attack or anything similar after hearing about their jackpot win. Most of them seem to have died after winning the jackpot. I don't see anything abnormal over here. People die every second. Some made the "headlines" because they recently won the jackpot. I bet if they didn't win the jackpot, they still would have died and there would have been no news on that.
2309  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Don't trust web wallets, don't trust exchanges, then where to trade? on: February 12, 2021, 06:48:35 PM
When people said don't trust exchanges, they didn't mean that you shouldn't use them. They meant that you shouldn't store your coins for long term in any exchange. Do your exchange/trading and then when you are done trading, move your coins as soon as possible. Don't use those exchange wallet as long term storage wallet. Bad idea. Exchanges might get hacked or your account might get compromised and you will end up losing everything.
As for webwallet, just avoid those at all cost. These are the least secured wallet where you can store your coins.
2310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you say you made money if you never actally sell your coins? on: February 12, 2021, 04:14:53 PM
I would say no. As long as you don't sell your coins, I would say you "haven't made any profit or loss". You have the same amount of coins that you had before. You bought that
with specific amount of money. As long as you are holding it, if the price goes up, and you haven't sold anything, you haven't made any profit. Again, if the price goes down and you still have the same amount of coins, you haven't made any loss. If only everyone had thought the same way, no would would be panic selling when the see the price dropping (unless its a shit coin and about to crash).
2311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does knowing your sport and teams really make you better at betting on them? on: February 12, 2021, 06:21:10 AM
Yeah, it does. You know your team and how the game is played which boots your confidence when placing a bet. You know the weakness of the team which gives you an edge on who to place bets when a play goes on. It's more like you know what you are doing, instead of randomly placing bets of different teams blindly based on past results. You, over here don't completely depend on your luck. This gives you a higher chance of winning!
In the end betting will always remain mostly luck based because it's not in your hand if you win or lose but in the hand of the teams that compete.
-snip-
I doubt sports betting depends "completely" on your luck. It depends more on how the team is playing.
2312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UBER will start to transact with Bitcoin? on: February 12, 2021, 05:56:24 AM
That's great, but how is it going to work? Unless they are willing to accept zero confirmation transaction (and take a huge risk of double spending), this is going to be a tough one. Imagine how long you will have to wait for a confirmation when the network is underloaded! But, I guess maybe they will come up with some better ideas.
Probably they will allow people to preload uber credits into their account using bitcoin or maybe hold users coin in their app? Let see what happens and how they handle the complexities and issues.
2313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice games on: February 12, 2021, 05:16:44 AM
Just letting you know, none of these strategies are going to work in the long run. You might be able to redcue your risk (along with that comes profit reduction) using strategies in the short run, but the more you keep on playing, the higher the chance of losing everything. After all, it is the casino that is going to win in the long run due to the house edge present.
Dice is a game of chances. No matter how many "strategies" you apply, in the end its your luck that will determine if you are going to win or not.
The first time I used Martingale in an online casino, I quickly lost all of my funds in a matter of minutes. My starting funds are not that much but still, that is scary considering the bets you are doing.
I have seen people losing crazy amount when playing with martingale strategy.
2314  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: money on: February 11, 2021, 08:07:58 PM
I have $ 34 there but it doesn't work
-snip-
What wallet is that? Looks like blockchain.com web wallet. You sure you have enough funds to cover your transcation? Check top right. Looks like you have more than one wallet on your account. Make sure you select your appropiate wallet from the drop down menu on the top right (the "from" currently shows BTC trading wallet).
Based on the name of the wallet you are trying to send from, I am assuming you used their exchange. Are your coins available for transfering or do they keep in on hold for few hours after making an exchange? Can you see the coins on an explorer?

And stop using blockchain.com or any webwallets. I have seen a lot of people complaing about shitty services from blockchain.com.
2315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: shittiest soft ware ever!! on: February 11, 2021, 08:01:14 PM
Am I the only one that noticed that all the casinos that are run by softswiss choose to not show you the terms while making a deposit and then they end up not working. whatsup with that. Those specific casinos always end up scamming you for their money. The one time I finally win something my withdrawal is declined because some type of bullshit in the terms. do you guys think this is some way of them trying to scam all their players?
I am sure when trying to access the site, or when creating an account, you receive some sort of popup where they say that you agree to their terms of service when you start using their serivices. They should do that. If they don't show any such thing, I guess you can sue them or something?
Anyway, this is a bad practice. Only casinos with ill intend tends to do something like this. If you lost your money, I guess you won't be able to do anything. Just make sure you read the Terms of service before you start gambling somewhere else and choose one of the well know sites.
2316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MasterCard announces support for crypto on its network on: February 11, 2021, 06:43:13 PM
I just read about it in the morning. This is such a great news for the crypto community. This means that users can now pay with crypto currencies almost every shop online where mastercard is accepted!
I know the merchants won't be directly accepting bitcoin and they will be receiving converted fiat currency (mastercard receives the bitcoin, converts it to fiat and pays the merchant) but it is still something for people who uses bitcoin. At least they can now spend their coins easily online. I am sure more payment processors and financial institution are going to follow mastercards footstep.
Is this a latest news cos there is no date on the web page, if it is then be prepared because this will affect crypto price positively all over again, mastercard is huge and way better than paypal implementing crypto, mastercard is by far better, this is a good news indeed
Yes, it was recently announced. Not an old article Smiley.
2317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost phone with bitcoin wallet on: February 11, 2021, 06:29:39 AM
Since you don't have any kind of backup, I doubt you will ever get back your coins. It's lost forever. Nothing you can do. You lost phone probably got "stolen" and the theif has highly likely wiped your phone. So even after you get back your phone, you won't get back your coins.
Don't lose sleep over it. Move on, make sure you learn from this mistake of yours, reinvest whatever you can and make sure think time you backup your wallets properly. It is never too late to start all over again!
2318  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Iam I being scammed? please help on: February 11, 2021, 06:19:51 AM
So I got involved with a Trader named Patricia Linda with Forex company and ExpertinTrade , I have given/bought $9500 after just wanting to initially just wanted to do $1000 to see how it went - she kept telling me if I invested more I could make $100,000 and now at every turn I get asked for a fee for commission , this that and agent to wire the money and his commission and now after I spent my life savings and taken out loans and borrowed money she asks for a $7000 WIRING FEE - she lowered it to $3000 - I had been expecting this money 3 times now with her promises - so first does this sound like a scam , second is there anything I can do about it , I am ruined and feel like an idiot - so be gentle on me please -- I already feel bad enough - is this fee thing normal - what should I do I am in $27,000 dollars now - she says I just need to pay the last fee and I am tempted I am so desperate and now I just got suspended from my job as an ER Nurse for bullshit petty crap - so am in really bad shape also is there anywhere I can get coins with a Discover card? I am so fucked

Of course this is a scam! What made you think otherwise? You can see all those scammers in all social media sites. I have been seeing those idiots leaving comments on different posts on facebook. They make false promises saying that they will give you profit, but once you invest, your money is gone. This is what is happening to you now. They made you invest some money and are now making more "excuses" to scam as much money as they can from you. They now know that you are desperate, hence they are also taking advantage of that. Stop replying to that "unknown" person who you have trusted your money with. Make a formal complaint to police and move on. I doubt you will get your money back.
2319  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Taking a loan to buy Bitcoin? on: February 11, 2021, 06:02:05 AM
-snip-
Do you think it is worth it? This might be a once in a lifetime chance.
No, I don't think it is worth it. Don't forget "Invest what you can afford to lose". Since you can't afford to invest, and you have to take loans, you can't afford to lose those loans. Hence, don't invest! It is not worth at all since its a high risk investment unless you are planning to invest for long term.
Why take loan in the first place? How about you save some money and instead of keeping those in bank, invest in bitcoin and keep holding for long term? You will make some nice profit in the long run!
2320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make money from Bitcoin in 2021 on: February 10, 2021, 08:53:55 PM
1. It's not an easy task. You need to have better understanding of the market to start trading.

2. Not always profitable. You might end up spending more than you actually mine. Don't forget about electricty cost and maintenance headaches.

3. I would recommend this one to everyone. Sell your skill! Best way to earn BTC.

4. Not sure what this is.

5. You have to be very lucky to get a good airdrop. 99% of the airdrops are shit tokens that you will wasting your time managing.

6. You are better off doing something else. You will earn more if you spend your time doing something more efficient like selling your skills.
