1301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Metaverse a bubble? on: December 31, 2021, 09:16:48 PM
When basic technologies such as AR and VR are not yet mature, are all the metaverse projects in the market a bubble?

Can $SAND $MANA still be invested?
This means you are already early to be investing in those projects. When AR and VR becomes a mainstream, then you are already late. If you think all these projects have a future, then invest. It might be a bubble right now, but it might not be if these project actually succeed. Right now they are all going up because of the meta hype that was created to facebook announcing the metaverse thing. Both SAND and MANA went up a lot after the announcement. Do your own research. If you have some spare money lying around that you can afford to lose, then why not try it?
1302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A different December indeed on: December 31, 2021, 07:05:20 PM
This is why we say the market is very unpredictable. Just because the price went up during December the last few years, doesn't mean it will go up again this December. But it wasn't a bad year at all. We already reached new all time high twice this year. It was very volatile during the mid year. We went below $35,000 but did manage to recover very soon.
Today is 31st of December and by now you should have know that 100btc in 2021 is impossible and also things is different this time around.
You mean $100k in BTC? Yeah, it was always impossible. Good we didn't hit $100k within December. I would rather prefer a steady rise in price because that is what a healthy market would look like. All those $100k price prediction was just some sort of bullshit prediction to make people FOMO into bitcoin.
1303  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we need bitcoin... on: December 31, 2021, 05:38:10 PM
Yes, we need crypto currencies, not only bitcoin. Sure, it is a hedge guard against inflation, but the way it works right now isn't completely suitable for replacing fiat currency and using it as a regular day to day currency. But I am sure we will eventually come up with a solution that will solve all those problems related to scalability, network congestion and the fees. Solutions like lightning network. But right now using custodial wallets and payment processors are the only way to get rid of the network delay, but in that case decentralization doesn't exist and people loses control over their coins.
1304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why I prefer Bitcoin over any other assets and dips don't panic me.... on: December 31, 2021, 03:24:28 AM
There are so many pros/cons about bitcoin.
Everything has its pros and cons. Nothing is perfect. But the pros of bitcoin outweigh the cons.
Some say, future assets and vice versa, bitcoin is a scam.
Those who say it is the future assets are the ones that really knows what bitcoin is and how it is better than the traditional currency. They know the future potential of crypto currencies. Those who say its a scam, are the ones that knows nothing about bitcoin and has probably lost money investing in it. Or are just butthurt because they didn't invest when they could.
However, in the midst of the debate, it did not affect the bitcoin market, there was even a country that legalized it and made it a legal tender, El Salvador.
It does affect the market. They spread FUDs causing the price to crash. And not many countries, almost all country has made bitcoin legal. Only few countries made it illegal.
1305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if Bitcoin reaches 100,000$ on 31 Dec 2021, 11:59 PM on: December 31, 2021, 01:49:06 AM
Although it is not possible, lets suppose bitcoin all of a sudden reaches 100,000$ on 31 Dec 2021, 11:59 PM.  Wink

Will you cash out and enjoy your profits or will you keep holding? Many will be busy in New year Celebrations and will miss this price  Wink

Share your fantasy dreams if this happens overnight?
If the price does reach to $100,000 in a day or two, then there will be a dip and a correction. Most of the people will start taking their profit and sell off their coins because they all know that the price will eventually crash after this abnormal rise. The price will start dipping. So, I would just convert half of my coins to a stable coin and then when the correction/dip takes place, I would be buying more and have more BTC with me. I would never sell all of my holding though. No one should do that.
1306  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I know legit and scam investment? on: December 31, 2021, 01:41:37 AM
I have come to realize that most of the real investment do look like scam. meanwhile the scam looks like the real once,50 percent of us  here have been scammed in one way or the other, But still yet we call ourselves good investors meanwhile we are investing into the wrong company. We really need to know the good and real trading company because they are all like the scam.Do you really know the difference?
If the real investment looks like scam, then it is very highly likely a scam. Something that is legit should never look sketchy. It shouldn't because they wouldn't be hiding anything and they will have full transparency. And no. The scams doesn't look "legit" if you dig deep into those offers/investments/platforms. There is always something that should trigger the scam alert in you. Just do proper research. If they offer something that is too good to be true, then are very highly likely trying to scam you. So avoid them. The only way to know the difference is to use your common sense.
1307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc is boring on: December 31, 2021, 12:24:40 AM
We think that only whales and instutions will stay play with btc as its boring.
No innovation no moves i mean price moves.
Retail trader not here for stability we are here for huge gains if btc dont give that im sure many people will leave btc and even eth.

Those who got a lot money can wait 5 years and can speak about blockchain development and how nice it will be we the retail traders are here only to see moves.

Right now even if btc will make moves 20% up or down...its really nothing.
If anything can give us 100%-10000% price volatility then im sure grayscale whales and wall street will stay alone with their bitcoins.

And if the grayscale and wall street instutions like CME and those kind of white collars dont put the efforts in then im sure retail will find something better to play with.

Not sure why you think bitcoin is very boring. Is it just because the price doesn't move much now? It has always been like this. The price goes up and down a lot and then stays stable for few months. By stable, I mean the price still fluctuates, but at a smaller rate. Most of the "retail traders" take the advantage of this fluctuation to make profit. So I don't know how you have come to a conclusion that no retail traders can get any profit when the price doesn't go up a lot. And no, we don't want a 100%-1000% price volatility. It would just mess up the market. It is good the way it is right now. BTC is long term investment. Not some quick profit scheme.
1308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best gambling site in 2021 on: December 30, 2021, 01:44:40 AM
The year 2021 has been flooded with the introduction of but new and old gambling platforms, the forum witness high traffic the year 2021 recorded the highest number of new gambling sites registering the presence on the forum while some became successful other simply scam and left. Let see a list of gambling sites that score the highest in 2021.
You won't be able to find the "best gambling site" over here. You will just get biased response. It is better to try out different casinos first and then you should decide which one you like the most. Make sure you read the review first before making any kind of deposit. The forum is a good place to look for reviews. Go to the announcement thread and check what people are saying. Avoid those brand new casino. Try those with good reputation. You can start with cryptogames if you want.
1309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc ban and fud its also financial market manipulation on: December 30, 2021, 12:43:07 AM
It's not the government or the country that spreads the FUD, it's the media that does that all. They spread the FUD by creating various articles that exaggerates everything and creates a confusion. And those media are controlled by some group of people and they do it (probably) on purpose to take advantage of the FUDs. They cause they market to crash and then they buy during the dip. You will see that the same media then starts praising and saying exactly the opposite of what they have said previously and then causes people to FOMO. So yeah, FUD is also a form of financial market manipulation that existed even before BTC was a thing.
1310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stick to altcoins or switch to Bitcoin or stablecoins? on: December 29, 2021, 12:57:15 AM
This is totally up to you. If you think the market is going to dip/crash more, then you can convert your bitcoin to a stable coin and then buy back your bitcoins at a cheaper price. It has its own risk and you will have to time the market properly. One mistake, you might end up making a huge loss. What if the market doesn't dip anymore and the price starts to rise fast? Then you will have to keep on waiting for the price to crash or go back to the point at which you sold your bitcoin. And no, don't convert it to altcoins. Most of the time, when bitcoin crashes, altcoin crashes even harder. So, that would be a bad idea. Or just keep holding. When it crashes, invest as much as you can.
1311  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Company on: December 29, 2021, 12:37:08 AM
Hello bitcointalknairs please I will like to get clarifications on something, I received an email from trading brokers that I can lunge my funds with them and they execute trades on my behalf but I am afraid of the legitimacy of such services because most of them always turn out to be scammers.
What is your experience with trading brokers?
Obviously its a scam. Don't be dumb enough to send them any funds. No "trading brokers" will randomly email someone asking to join them. Remember, all unsolicited emails are always 99% scam. So just ignore them and send all their emails to junk. They are here to scam you. They send thousands of email, and trust me, at least one person fall for those dumb scam. Don't be that "one person". Don't know much about trading brokers in crypto, but do you really need one?
1312  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It is possible to make a profit by trading on: December 29, 2021, 12:32:08 AM
I have been trading for a long time. However, it is not always possible to benefit. In some cases there is a possibility of loss. After facing huge losses, I have benefited again after a long time. Bought 3k$ from a seller with current price of k 10k$. However, the dollars have not been set at present. Currently using trading. So I think the most beneficial. What do you think?
Of course you can't always make profit through trading. But if you are good, in the long run you will be able to make profit. Since you faced a huge loss, I hope you learned where you went wrong. You should analyze all your past trades so that you don't repeat the same mistake. Analyzing trades will also help you make better profit in the future. Not sure what you meant by "dollars have not been set". But anyway, keep trading, keep learning and you will end up with good profit.
1313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Wallet Hacking through Telegram on: December 29, 2021, 12:03:01 AM
Recently i was reading an article where Hackers target crypto wallets through Telegram using Echelon malware is explained.
I have followed the instructions and disabled the Automatic download of media option in telegram. But i fear that many people will keep the auto download option enable because of unaware of this threat.
I wonder how this virus will work and how can they reach to our wallets / exchanges?
This whole Telegram is filled with bunch of hackers and scammers. But I doubt a "virus" can be spread automatically without having to do anything. Like another user mentioned, it's a rar file. So the user has to extract the file to infect his/her phone. So even if auto download is turned on, it's not possible to mess up your phone unless you carelessly open a random file. It also has a .exe file, so your phone can't even run it. You will have to send it to your computer and then run it. So unless you are a dimwit, I guess they can't "automatically" hack your wallet through telegram.
1314  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best no KYC exchanger that does not store date on: December 28, 2021, 11:34:30 PM
I'm looking for exchange that does not store any of your personal date and does ask you for KYC. Besides using DEX, what can you add to the list? As well as your personal experience. My current experience.

 - Withing EXODUS wallet (exchange got stuck, they forward me to 3rd party exchange for support)
 - Changelly within ledger live (not clear if they will ask for KYC or not, different info on both webs, waiting on clear reply from support)

Share your best practice exchanging between different blockchains with no KYC!
Almost all exchange won't let you do any kind of fiat trading without going through KYC. Some exchanges will allow you to trade with some limits imposed without going through KYC, but at some point they might want you to verify yourself and your funds might get frozen. So you always have to be prepared for going through KYC, if you are using centralized exchange. As far as I know, Kraken still allows its users to trade without KYC. So you might try that. Otherwise stick with decentralized exchanges.
1315  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the bitcoin market has been dumping so much for months on: December 27, 2021, 10:59:36 PM
It wasn't even a dump. The 10% drop and around are normal. It happens from time to time. You can call it a dump when the price falls something like more than 25% in just few days. Even if that happens, the price will eventually recover in the long run. Like look at the price now. It is back and above $50,0000 after it went below $45,000 USD. Those who bought during this small dip, made some good profit already. So instead of worrying about the dump/dip, take advantage of it and maximize your profit.
1316  Economy / Gambling / Re: Self-exclusion/ban who to be blame on: December 27, 2021, 05:18:25 AM
Lots of users from this forum have come up with one complaint or the other on how their deposits were withheld by gambling sites after going on self-exclusions, but I confusion why should a user go ahead to make deposits or request for withdrawal after accounts are banned or are its part of the rules of gambling sites to allow for withdrawal from ban account.
In this situation who is to blame the gambling site or the player?
Most of the casinos have self exclusion because they want their users to be able to stop gambling when they feel like they are addicted. And most users know what they are doing. They block themselves for few weeks to months along with their funds on purpose so that they can't use those funds to gamble. And those addicts (most of them) are the same people that starts complaining after few weeks to release their funds so that they can gamble somewhere else. I would say no casino should allow their users to withdraw any funds or have access to the site unless the self exclusion period ends. If they do allow their users to do that, they will end up being in trouble. I wouldn't be surprised if their users comes back and starts blaming the casino for losing everything due to their addiction and the casino allowing them to withdraw their funds.
1317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC as "every day" spending currency vs. 10 min Block Confirmation/Mining time on: December 27, 2021, 03:52:59 AM
Consider the following:

1) BTC was initially conceived as an "every-day spendable currency" (and not just a "store-of-value")

2) the BTC Blockchain is intentionally designed (for security reasons) so that a typical block will take about 10 mins to mine

If these 2 principles are accurate, how do we envision BTC being used as (1) while retaining the time limit of (2)?  That is, "How can I spend BTC right this second without having to wait 10 mins for the Block to be confirmed (aka mined)?"  It seems to me as though some other step/intermediary would be needed to make this happen - such as, a different kind of wallet/account (one where BTCs are "pre-confirmed as spendable") or an "immediate spend" alternative crypto with an intentionally faster Block confirmation time (making it less secure).  Are there any other alternatives?  Am I missing something here?  What model do you envision for a world where BTC is the main/only "currency of the Earth"?
Like others said, layer 2 protocols like lightning network is currently the only options for near instant transactions. So yeah, bitcoin sometimes isn't very suitable for using it as a  "every-day spendable currency". The other option both the merchant and the customer using some sort of same custodial wallet where off chain internal transactions are done. It will be instant with no fees at all, but you will very likely have to go through some sort of KYC and you DON'T control your own funds anymore.
1318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I recovered my wallet from 2014 and saw how close I was to being a millionaire on: December 27, 2021, 02:58:52 AM
A lesson that I learned here is never sell
-snip-
You probably sold probably because you had to. There is no point regretting. I don't like it when people say "never sell". Better to say "keep holding if you can". If you have no other option but to sell, then just sell and move on. Don't look back. If you have extra cash lying around, then go ahead and invest again. It is never late. Keep investing as much as you can, and if you don't have to sell, then just keep holding. You will make some good profit in the future.
1319  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise or fall. on: December 25, 2021, 06:56:35 PM
The price is very volatile. In the short run, the price may go up or down due to volatility, but in the long run, the price will always go up. Just look at the charts and compare the price. Zoom out and you will see that the price of the bitcoin is always higher when comparing with price few years ago. So if you are asking will the price go up within next few days, then no one can answer your question with certainty. If you are asking will the price go up within next few years, then yeah, there is a very high chance the price will be higher than it is now.
1320  Economy / Gambling / Re: betflip.io does not pay me even my deposit amount on: December 25, 2021, 04:52:44 PM
I had also faced the same experience and is very much disappointed with this. betflip.io is a scam website on which you can face just loss and nothing else. I would suggest everyone not make any deposit on this site and report it in the scam accusation section. So it may help many other users to avoid this scam website.
It is funny how you guys "after" getting scammed start looking for reviews and information about the casino. You could have done that before and saved yourself from getting scammed. If you google the name of the casino along with the term "scam", you will see how many scam accusation posts against them pops on the top result. Click one of those and you will instantly know they are here just to scam people. Why even play on a casino that has no reputation at all? Why not choose a casino that has been around for years?
