@OP My I have your wallet address for donation.

Cosmo doesn't share his address. Same reason he doesn't accept bets on his predictions. Because then you'd be able to follow the money and find out exactly how successful he's been.

Wtf, my address is in my profile

Blockchain: "No transactions found for this address, it has probably not been used on the network yet."
Sad

You better pray we don't go to $260.

If we end up below $300, a lot of big farms will continue to unload their existing profits just to keep
operating, or close their operations.   This would cause a drop to below $100 or lower. The losses (electric bill) will be to big to handle.  This will create fundamental changes, probably irreversible changes.
Think 2011 drop 25->2.5 and ebay ads for 50-100 GPUs for sale.

The difficulty suppose to adjust accordingly, but all this takes time and this would be a "real test"
for the bitcoin experiment.  Basically, the (Chinese) traders and the market would kill bitcoin by setting the price below the operating costs and keeping it there for long enough to kill the network.

No mining = no transactions = game over.  not only for bitcoin, game over for all cryptos.

So be careful what you wish for.  You better hope $400 is the bottom.

That just isn't going to happen.
Most of the people on these boards have, what? A few hundred or thousand USD in bitcoin, maybe occasionally tens of thousands+? Cosmo has $20 his mom gave him for tidying his room.
The likes of Gavin Andressen have millions of their own and VC funding in bitcoin businesses. There's no way they'd let a few panicking speculators kill all that. They'll step in and stabilise the market, making a killing in the process at the panickers' expense.

Why do you keep feeding him? Acknowledgement is what he lives for

Not for much longer.
igorr took a big loan from the Russian mafia for a short that isn't working out as he hoped. Now they want it back and it's not looking good for him...

He started in on this a little above $500 iirc.
If it was a big loan, then I'd say he did pretty well as long as he covered around $440.

Elsewhere he claims to be shorting down to 200.
Of course, anything he says I take with a truckload of salt.
2325  Economy / Speculation / Re: The chart says buy at this level. on: March 30, 2014, 06:20:47 PM
Big Boys will never get into BTC. They think Bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme and they're probably right.
Your chart is irrelevant this bitch is going straight to 0!
Is this actually true?

Look at a big company like BP. Starts small, people buy shares, and it gets bigger. The bigger it gets, the more the shares are worth and the more newcomers have to pay. The ones who got in first do very well out of it if they sell. But if everyone sells, the price goes to zero and the ones who got in last lose out big time.
Does that make BP a Ponzi scheme? Yes, in a sense...

Got to love the Keynesian Beauty Contest. In bitcoin, thousands of people trying to second, third, tenth guess each other. But bear in mind it works both ways - they guess up as well as down.
I was surprised to wake up this morning to find the price still hovering around the 500 mark, and lower volumes. Inasmuch as I know anything about TA (which is not a lot) it looks like 500 is pretty key after all. I really did think it was going to dive a bit deeper here and there even if that was the case. I guess it still might, but I thought if it was going to happen it would have been last night.

There it is, firmly in mid-400s territory. Not sure why people took their time but there you have it.
(Not trying to claim any credit for getting it right, since I wasn't and it was an assumption rather than a brilliant inference given to my by cosmofly's autistic savant friend.)
I do wonder how much money has left bitcoin in the last 3 months. $1100 to ~$450 is a drop of 60%, but much more than 60% of money must have been taken out since, of course, not everyone who holds btc worth $x actually paid that for them (i.e. at $450 most people have bought at less than that, it's just the last few buyers who pushed it over the $450 mark). I've asked this question before and haven't been able to figure out an answer, but I assume that something like 80% or more of the total money put into bitcoin has been yanked out as people sold down to where we are now. Which is one heck of a loss of confidence.
2328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bit Coin Price Drop on: March 30, 2014, 01:10:40 PM
Further? Jesus! So basically everyone who had bitcoin has lost money?

well, it certainly can't be the other way around. it's a zero-sum game Wink

but all the doom and gloom is definitely overstated. if you want to increase your bitcoin holdings in the short term, you can try to buy back lower. but if you're content with lower risk on a longer timescale, sit tight.

Just exactly what the hell do you think you're doing, bringing reason and order to a thread like this?
Have you no shame?

I'm not a bag holder. I have someone that does that for me now.

This is not the same chart that you have set before 15 minuts , they are two totally different charts !!!
And please turn of LOG scala at this a new chart !

Are you really shorting from 1100 to 200? If so you must be bricking it. Smiley
2331  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm All In - Sold My House! on: March 29, 2014, 07:29:18 PM
You are for just 15 days, lost two rooms of your hous.

Aren't you going to support this with the same pointless graph you've posted to every other thread in the universe?
2332  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who sold below $550? The $400 bottom is in LOL!!!! on: March 29, 2014, 07:23:36 PM

igorr, you filthy troll

Indeed.

log scale is valid precisely because of the trend that g4c pointed out.

Did I misunderstand your comment about bearish downward flags and having already broken out, made in response to one of the other 10,000 places igorr has pasted his very convincing chart of arbitrary lines and colours?
2333  Economy / Speculation / Re: $473 on bitstamp? WTH! on: March 29, 2014, 07:20:22 PM
Hopefully US investors will fill the gap left by the Chinese.

Denmark too.
They can now buy BTC and legally pay no taxes on profits.
Huge story is HUGE.

No income tax or capital gains? Nice. And they have outstanding TV drama. And bacon.
I'm going to live in Denmark.
Every time I see some TA indication that makes me think bear I have to remind myself of the fundamentals.

What's happening?

These are normal happenings, we enter the fifth month of constant decline in prices,
Check Trend line from decembar 2013 year !

Trend and price before 1 month:

Trend and price today:

See you again within a month with trend lines and current price.
seem possible according to your graph
so must i sell at $500 right now and buy again in $300?

yes, sell at $500, and buy again in $300,
then
sell at 400 and buy again in $200
Then
sell at 300  and buy again in $100

But I do not want to risk it, and I still hold the sell position from $1100, and I will take profit at $250.
And after that, Bitcoin I will never see, my profit for 1 year will be about $500k usd

Smiley
Quoted.

Don't feed the trolls, especially igorr, whose trolling is so tediously predictable.
2337  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who sold below $550? The $400 bottom is in LOL!!!! on: March 28, 2014, 09:58:43 PM
So any guesses on when the sentiment will change and people will start turning bullish again

That's the kind of thing you only really know with hindsight.
I'm still trying to digest the China news and the end of the tax year theories, wondering what difference clarity will make after each of those deadlines. (Answer may be none; not sure yet.)
Either way I imagine we'll have a better picture after the weekend, and better still early-mid April.
2338  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who sold below $550? The $400 bottom is in LOL!!!! on: March 28, 2014, 05:52:53 PM
Grin Grin Grin

New ATH by end of July 2014 here we come.

$5000 by the end of 2014 here we come!

Yup, next up wave imminent, yes might touch $5000 (maybe), then settle down (the next "crash" lol) to $2000 ± $500

Capitulation is a mixture of panic, despair, and angry, frustrated boredom. We're getting closer.
In my mind, the likelihood that we are truly there is inversely correlated to the number of mentions of phrases like "to da moon", mentions of that irritating train we kept hearing so much about, and so on.
So clearly, we're not quite there yet.
2339  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who sold below $550? The $400 bottom is in LOL!!!! on: March 28, 2014, 05:38:58 PM
I'm hodling myself. But yup, I forsee the 400 mark right around the corner. People have been predicting for some time that April will be the down month for bitcoin. And if enough people believe that, then the market will reflect it. But conversely, enough people still believe strongly in bitcoin for the long-term, so it will definitely rally back to the quadruple digits.

Maybe. But I've seen all kinds of crazy predictions for April, July, August (why does May never get a look in?) both up and down. Right now I kind of figure, whatever. Like Billy Currington says, God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy. I'm not prepared to try to predict what a lot of panic buyers/sellers are going to do next and then beat myself up when I get it wrong...
2340  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: What will be the bottom price for current downturn? on: March 28, 2014, 04:08:09 PM
Judging by volume and orderbooks, this seems more like an intermediary bounce than a bottom. The question is, will 400 hold?

What do you think of Stamp's current order book? A wall at 470 and not a huge amount in the way of asks at the moment.
