Not sure how critical that is?

OVH is providing cheap VPS as well. I'm using them and works quite fine for me. I don't work for them and no affiliation. Just using their service.
They provide 1 vCore CPU, 1GB RAM, 10GB HDD, up to 10,000 GB data transferred per month @100 Mbps, then 1 Mbps for $2.99. For $6.99 2 vCore CPU, 2GB RAM, 25GB HDD. All ports open.
Are you running SuperNET on it? Someone said ~2 Gb Ram was ideally needed. Also, are there any good options for paying in btc? I need to get something up and running asap, so information appreciated. I'm happy to pay for a VPS for a year if someone can help me get it set up.

I apologies for my statement before the time it should be done according to your rules. Lunar eclipse, you know Your rules, you mean, if you're genuinely participating. I'm just quoting the ICO document. Though presumably you've read that, if you're genuinely participating. I did not read that doc, sorry, only tech ideas in whitepapper. Not to sound like a dick but what would you have to offer the SN? I would be kinda disappointed if we were letting anyone in Willy nilly... Could you clarify if you will be joining SN like NXT BBR BTCD or will you be using the SN like anyone could? Anyone can use SuperNET services via the API. Only a handful of coins will be joining the core (currently NXT, BBR, BTCD). The big green ANN makes me rather suspicious - either way it's misleading. Especially as I've yet to see the tech whitepaper.

Ignore this until there is official confirmation. ANNs not made this way. Do not buy.
Eek. I thought this was specifically not meant to happen. Perhaps you should delete dNote. I think only coins that are announced in the SuperNET newsletter are official. Is that correct? That announcement was very unprofessional. Kind of appears like a sad attempt to produce hype. No complex words from our team in case of announcements. Announcements are sudden and short. Just forward moves. Care about product quality only and just saying what we do now. That is how we act. Thank you. EDIT: But in case of SuperNET we should wait for official statements from both SuperNET and DarkNote XDN team, before any actions caused by news. From the SuperNET ICO document ( http://209.126.70.170/SuperNET.pdf): "prospective coin applicants will not be announced until their inclusion is fully confirmed. This would make purchasing the required quantity prohibitively expensive and lead to insider trading at the expense of existing holders. This also acts as a test of the coin developers’ integrity: no coin can be pumped in advance of its claimed addition to SuperNET. Such a price rise would be immediately recognisable and will likely be grounds for disqualification from inclusion in itself.)"

SuperNET is NOT a coin. do you understand this?
Apparently he doesn't (nor do I, although I do understand teleport, after a lot of effort to do so) and this appears to be a common thread with your projects. Think about that. Just a bit of constructive criticism here. If it sounds like an attack it isn't meant that way at all. I am looking to hire someone to explain things in proper form. Alas, it is not one of my skills. I couldn't agree more, that's the problem with this coin. It not being marketed properly, I don't think most people have a clue to what SuperNet is. I'm a little sketchy about it myself. I'd be curious to know how it relates to NXT, is SuperNet part of the NXT network? Oh I heard a lot of flattering things about you on "Beyond Bitcoin" podcast fascinating stuff. Its got me really excited. I'd also be interested in how SuperNet is similar to Open Bazaar, and they competing platforms? How are they alike etc. You and CZ need to find somebody that can communicate what this is all about in laymen's terms. A show like "Beyond Bitcoin" is a really good way to go. The Q&A format. I'd love to here you interviewed on a show like that. Take a look at https://bitscan.com/articles/welcome-to-the-supernetShort article rather than a whitepaper/ICO doc. Does this explain more, and if not, what do you still need?

So I get a load of messages when compiling (long process), ending in: cp: cannot stat 'BitcoinDarkd': no such file or directory ./m_unix: line 20: ./BitcoinDarkd: No such file or directory I'm also unclear what needs to go in the SuperNET.conf file. Edit: I've got two directories now, btcd and bitcoindark, due to the two sets of instructions. There's also this file: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CGUgDAhimVhz7aHAnITeZGr2S4RiZPzF2LYZIWGbJ1E/editLooks like this is more comprehensive. Also that I do need to install a NXT wallet too. I'm currently not using a VPS, just an old computer with Ubuntu on it. Is that a problem? My purpose here is just to test and understand the SuperNET API calls to create some documentation, that's all.

The nacl folder should be in btcd/libjl777. Then navigate to build/lib/ and a few more folders to randombytes.o
The latest btcd repo no longer needs libnacl. However, you still need randombytes.o.
Matthew
Thanks - hidden file and a couple of extra directories I wasn't expecting. Found it now. I'm very new to linux and this is a baptism by fire. Linux takes a while to get used to. Once you really understand how the terminal works and everything, it's a powerful tool. Yeah, I get that. It's pretty cool. But I have little idea what the commands I'm typing in actually mean

Redeem TOKEN for SuperNET If you have TOKEN on NXT AE, send it to: NXT-7Y5B-J8LQ-SL5P-3ULFL (alias: RedeemTOKEN) It will be converted to SuperNET and sent back to your account within 24 hours. It is done via a manual process run by valarmg
i transfer my token 2 days ago (Transaction 4032055456082828453) and i am still waiting for the supernet token!!! whats going on admins? Not sure. Try messaging valarmg. Also check your TOKEN id to make sure it's the official TOKEN, not a fake one. i copy and paste the nxt adress from the OP ...mhh i hope i get there soon Should be ok then. Don't worry, if you've made the transfer then there will be tx id so it's all on the blockchain. Maybe there's just been a delay - it is a manual process. Do chase valarmg though.

Making slow progress. Compiled ok but asking for BitcoinDark.conf I created the file using pico BitcoinDark.conf and pasted in the text in OP, substituting the rpcuser= and rpcpassword= with the ones it suggested. Also changed permissions to 700 as recommended. Next time around, I got the same message.
Put your BitcoinDark.conf in .BitcoinDark in your home directory. That directory doesn't seem to exist. Edit: found hidden file with ls -a Steep learning curve for me today. when your build environment is working, you should go: cd git clone https://github.com/jl777/btcdcd btcd/libjl777 ./onetime <go into nacl directory, build, lib, until you find the randombytes.o and libnacl.a>cp randombytes.o libnacl.a ~/btcd/libjl777/libs cd ~/btcd ./m_unix <make a SuperNET.conf> ./BitcoinDarkd Ok up to ./onetime Can't find nacl directory find / randombytes.o -> No such file or directory

Announce: DarkNote XDN devs are officially working on DarkNote XDN <-> SuperNET integration, to improve both! We are in active collaboration with @jl777 about that stuff.
So we're sure that BBR is still planned for supernet? Ignore this. jl777 specifically made a point of saying that he would make such announcements to prevent pumps from coins that weren't involved. Otherwise any coin could make that claim regardless of whether it was true. So I'm rather suspicious, I'm afraid, and wouldn't base any trading decisions on it.

Why? What goes in the SuperNET.conf file and where? Also, I didn't realise you needed a NXT wallet running at the same time. Any particular requirements for that?

I don't pretend to speak on behalf of anyone, but I've done a certain amount of work for jl777 on both Teleport and SuperNET documentation. I'm not a dev, I'm a writer, and I understand them both pretty well. They are both excellent ideas. They are very simple in theory - elegantly simple, in fact. There is a lot of complexity to get through to reach that simplicity, though If you have specific questions, please ask them. Better still head over to the SuperNET forum and ask there, as I won't have lots of time to answer stuff here. There will be other folks who can help out there. There's also a SuperNET thread here, though mostly it's pretty quiet as everyone left for the SuperNET forum after some rabid trolls made it impossible to get anything done. Perhaps you can also explain what happened with the dumps then? Stop using this thread for advertisements. People were asking questions. I offered answers if they wanted. They're still welcome to them, if they want. Since you ask, I imagine the dumps are fairly easily explained by panic sellers bailing after the ANN they thought would make them lots of money failed to materialise. Perhaps they thought everyone else would sell and wanted to get in first. Keynesian beauty contest. What's hard to understand about that? It's crypto, it's driven by sentiment. Now if only there were initiatives that understood fundamentals were important, and realised collaboration was so much better than competition... 95% of bids pulled just before CZ announced the no announcement. Maybe that had something to do with it? ETA" the price had not gone up due to the announcement of the announcement. Would you like to try again? Ok, insiders just before. It amounts to the same. Scared of the price going down -> sell before the price goes down -> price goes down. Regardless, I plan to hold my BBR for the long term. And promote it, as I already have been doing. There's room for more than one coin/asset in crypto, and lots of opportunities for anyone with good tech.
