2321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are girls using Bitcoins? on: June 19, 2014, 04:33:18 AM
I am telling you, if we can get Nordstroms and Bloomingdales to accept BTC, we would be at a whole another level of mass adoption.  That would make so many women interested in using BTC.

but BTC would crash to $200 within a month as huge amounts of BTC would be handed over to Nordstroms and Bloomingdales, who'll instant convert to get $Fiat to pay for overhead, taxes and employee expenses.  Grin

For someone not interested in reading the past 86 pages (no offense), could someone recap why the OP lost a whole bunch of reputation points?
2323  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Argentina, the next Cyprus ? on: June 19, 2014, 04:04:56 AM
Europe will buy bitcoins aggressively when a few big banks will fail and they will print money to reimburse depositor or perform an haircut on savings

Quite a few big banks failed in Cyprus last year. But no one rushed to gather their Bitcoins. Most of the people remain ignorant about Bitcoins, and they will trust the banks no matter what they do.  Angry

Which is what I wrote before.

Some people in America and China are racing to buy Bitcoin, thinking it'll go up soon from Argentines, but in reality we can safely assume that 99.9% of Argentines will continue to be none the wiser about Bitcoin.

Crypto currencies right now is like the internet back in the early 1990s.  I think we still have a long way to go in educating people of alternatives like crypto currencies.
2324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread [Updates & Discussion][Civilized Discussion] on: June 19, 2014, 03:32:47 AM
I think it's an important conversation.  NEM could have this 2800 or 3000 stakeholders, but if only 2700 bother to claim their stakes then, in reality five months from now, people would only say it is 2700 initial stakeholders.

The number 2700 and 3000 is a insubstantial difference in distribution but a number of "3000" is better from an image point of review.  3000 is a nice round convenient number and the number "3" happens to be a lucky number in many cultures.  Having some obscure number like "2749" is off-putting and mechanical.
2325  Economy / Economics / Re: Solution to poverty - Socialism or Capitalism? on: June 19, 2014, 02:03:45 AM
Socialism is a solution to poverty because everyone is poor, but nobody realizes it because everyone is the same.

Not possible. Proof: Those who manage the redistribution by force, are not going to be poor. Stalin had a gold shitter.

True.  Stalin and  the apparatchiks were relatively wealthy in what was an impoverished and hellish reality.

Though if you told a contemporary Russian millionaire, never mind a billionaire, that the apparatchiks were wealthy then they would laugh at you.  Stalin may have had a dacha with gold toilets but a Russian billionaire can have his own mega super yacht, A380 (biggest luxury plane), Caribbean islands, soccer teams, private armies and personal harems containing only the best looking super models.

Even the lifestyle of a millionaire in Russia is arguably better than any privileged Communist had decades ago.

2326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread [Updates & Discussion][Civilized Discussion] on: June 18, 2014, 11:25:04 PM
With an attitude like that then nobody will use your "community" website

Website? the domain would be transferred to the NEM developers if there's interest for a short and sleek domain (e.g. blockexplorer at blocks.nem.io).

Developers please remove his stake, he exhibits characteristics unbecoming of a stakeholder.

No comment, are you sure you're right here? Grin

You have no shame in creating a website intended for the "community", but it's first purpose is to lie in a private message and then bait me to click it?  Only to prove I'm not UF but you then continue to ruffle through deleted posts?

Read up the definition of asocial.  Apparently you haven't have a clue from right or wrong.  No rational sane human could see your viewpoint.

If NEM community tolerates this behaviour from Instacash then we are no better than the coins we trying to overcome.
2327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread [Updates & Discussion][Civilized Discussion] on: June 18, 2014, 11:09:06 PM
If there's a sockpuppet then it's instacash.  He used nem.io to get my IP.  I noticed Call from Above used that website in his signature days ago.

Yes, I own http://nem.io (reserved for community use) -- posted it on Nem Trello board days ago. Why would I be a sockpuppet, let alone CfA?

Accusations all the way, what's the matter with you? Wink

It's a blank website nobody uses and then you used it to disclose my IP to freaks on the net and then ruffled through my posts.

Only a few people have been taken off stakeholder list and your actions are deserving.  Like to create some blank 'community page' and its' first use is to stalk another stakeholder isn't excusable.  This is supposed to be the no envy movement.
2328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: History of NEM: An Interactive Timeline - CoinsSource.com on: June 18, 2014, 09:38:43 PM
Timeline is wrong, no proof ever emerged UF stole $100K.  It was an allegation by call from above which he never substantiated.

Nice to know they treat wild accusation for fact.
2329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT, the ultimate SCAM, will it die because of 100% pre-mine given to 50 people? on: June 18, 2014, 09:27:40 PM
So they're putting bounties for people to chase forum members that point out negative facts of their project?

Hi worhiper,

why not? It's fun.  Also: we are not talking about negative facts but constant lying here, it's a huge difference.

If someone was lying it doesn't excuse violence or hit man, would never hold up in court.

BTW referring to NxT's distribution is far from a lie - it's a commonly understood fact about NxT.

I can't think any investor reading this thread is going to react positively.  NxT is getting ridiculous when it's chasing shadows.
2330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT, the ultimate SCAM, will it die because of 100% pre-mine given to 50 people? on: June 18, 2014, 09:23:30 PM
Lol at hack story, John hack himself

For anyone who wants to earn some Nxt: https://nxtforum.org/pub-crawl/10'000-nxt-for-speech-analysis

So they're putting bounties for people to chase forum members that point out negative facts of their project? This is ridiculous, what's next? Bounties to kill people that spread fud? ffs

Apparently I'm getting more attention than
John who stole $250K and then BM who stole over 1 million NxT.

I wouldn't put it past them to send someone after me to hurt me.

Looks like great PR for NxT - we'll send people to hurt you but leave the scammers alone.
2331  Economy / Economics / Re: You work your butt off, and a rich dude does nothing and gets rich - how? on: June 18, 2014, 02:08:20 PM
It's not knowing the rules.  It's printing free money through FRB and then buying their own assets - the rich work together
And look out for each other.
2332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are girls using Bitcoins? on: June 18, 2014, 02:04:41 PM
Considering all the guys who play female toons in mmorpgs, are we sure this 10%-20% aren't just guys who wish they were women?!
2333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very Early Adopters on: June 18, 2014, 01:59:22 PM
The dot.com bubble was $7 trillion with a T.  Cryptos under $10 billion means the party hasn't even started.

2334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread [Updates & Discussion][Civilized Discussion] on: June 18, 2014, 01:37:00 PM
I would like to see a huge pile of NEM get into the hands of average joe without them paying for it,this will make the stakeholders mad since they had to pay for it but average joes won't be spending money to buy NEM when they are not sure about it. Isn't the goal of NEM to help people achieve financial freedom? The more people that have it the greater chance NEM will succeed which will increase the value for the stakeholders.

A lot of coins like Dogecoin and Redd tried tipping to do what you suggest, I think it brought more bad than any good.

2335  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Argentina, the next Cyprus ? on: June 18, 2014, 02:28:59 AM
Bitcoin is rapidly growing within Argentina as things stand
Non repayment of govy debt will accelerate adoption once the new dose of fx pain kicks in

could this possibly be the reason for today's jump in price? it went up $20, at least so far.

Possibly but ironically likely has nothing to do with actual Argentines.  It's probably people in China or the States wanking at this news and buying in anticipation that Bitcoin will go up from Argentines buying.  Which isn't the case because Bitcoin requires educating future users and that is something it has struggled in doing so far.  Beyond the get quick rich types, nobody is really buying into Bitcoin.  Bitcoin would do wonders as remittance in Africa (Western Union charges up to 20% by the end) and yet there's nobody educating Africans on the utility of using Bitcoin.
2336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread [Updates & Discussion][Civilized Discussion] on: June 18, 2014, 12:35:53 AM
Moderated threads scare me a bit.
Or we need a certain level of generosity I think.

Go see the non-moderated where the shit hits the fan and you will see there is reason Undecided

It was brought in because one person made 550 posts since Friday and almost all of them were directed at NEM.  His posts were full of terrible and annoying english.  99% of it was lies, he impersonated being the leader of NEM, tried to scam money by pretending to be in charge of tokens, regularly claimed to had owned a lot of NEM stakes, annoyed newcomers, et cetera.  He was also preventing, due to his volume and annoying posts, any actual discussion about NEM.

Either the guy is an unemployed lunatic or someone hired him because who frankly has time to make 550+ messages within a few days, of which 500 were directed at NEM?
2337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Non-Moderated Thread [Updates & Discussion] on: June 17, 2014, 09:11:20 PM
How many threads and which to focus on?
2338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread [Updates & Discussion][Civilized Discussion] on: June 17, 2014, 06:51:12 PM
The costs.  Tens of thousands for flights / hotel rooms / booth rental only to advertise to the hundred or so people who show up, most being from other coins.

"TaunSew" what is your reason for your constant lying, whining and hatred against NXT?

I can understand your fascination but it's a shame to the entire community and not doing any good to NEM at all.
What part was he lying about ?

Are you serious?  Most of this individuals posts are nothing but full of completely false claims and lies. I am not going to go into detail here, just check the post history if you truly care. Same level like "CfA".

John (ppubic leader of NxT) stole a fortune, for real.  All those donations he requested, scam trades, cointropolis asset (which he pocketed).

Easily $250K+

John is not a leader of NXT, there is no such thing as a leader of Nxt. He was an individual speaking for Nxt at a public event. His account was hacked and BTC were stolen with a forum post on the Nxtforums.

Quote
About the scam (the real one, not the one in your imagination): John is not a public (or any) boss, he is someone who represented the community at PayExpo. He has attended less than half of the conferences Nxt has attended. It was not 250k, it was 74 BTC total, 49 from one person who was specificly targeted. There is no evidence at this point that it was John, more likely that his email account was hacked to reset passwords on nxtforum and twitter. It's being investigated.

But go on with your nonsense, facts just get in your way.

NxT is damage control mode.

He was at multiple conferences and was pumping out hype.  He was the de facto leader of NxT ro anyone who attended the conferences.

World's longest investigation.  He took money and ran.

It's not just that 79 BTC, he took other money from all over the place.

Easily $250K+.  He also had NxT people pay for his hotels and flights.
