I would not agree that Avalanche is a reliable investment. The project has risks. For example
https://dropstab.com/coins/avalanche-2/fundraising
they sold their coins and I don’t know how the regulator will look at it and what fine will be imposed from the SEC. Of course, this project has a great chance to solve all problems with regulators, but you need to understand the risks.

Look at the statistics of popular ecosystems such as Ethereum that are used and compare it with the Avalanche ecosystem that grows only on market pumps. I consider Kosmos and Polkadot to be more adequate competitors. Avalanche has the potential to grow, but I don’t buy it because I don’t use it, but I don’t think it would be a mistake to buy $20 for 3-5% of the investment portfolio.
2325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Best network to transfer USDT from Coinbase to Bitget on: February 17, 2023, 09:10:02 PM
I can't find the information about the fees charged by coinbase to transfer money to other platforms. Does anyone know the best way to transfer USDT from coinbase to Bitget? And which network should I use? And what fees would I be charged?

On the other hand, if I click on send/receive it doesn't let me choose the network...it just gives me the option to copy the address and that's it....
All exchanges have a transaction fee in the withdrawal section. I looked at the table of commissions, and if I were you, I would buy a litecoin and transfer it to another exchange, and then exchange it for stablecoins. Try with small amounts to calculate the amount of your expenses. The price of Litecoin may fall, this is your risk, but it may also rise.
2326  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin's age of legal competence on: February 17, 2023, 09:00:01 PM
In my country (Germany) it is not legal to do business with children in the age 0 to 18.

From 0 to 7 it is forbidden, and from 7 to 18 there are some minor differences, But overall and away from everyday life things, in Germany it is not allowed to sell children (age 11, 12, 13) and young people (age 14, 15) bigger things. For example, if I want to sell a television set to a 13 years old person, it is not allowed and I have to give back the money the 13 years old was paying me for the TV set.

In the case a 13 year old is selling me something with Bitcoin, it is easy to handle. I get the TV set back (from my example) back, and I have to pay back the Bitcoin or the money therefor (at the market price).

But my question or my reason to discuss:

If a 13 year old children is mining BTC this is not allowed in Germany. The question of the hour is, not just for Bitcoin - for all POW coins: How to protect chuldren from mining coins? Is there a statistic about how many coins (BTC) were mined by children or persons under 18 years? And how to compensate this unlawful behavior?

Is there a mining protection for children on the Bitcoin core?
Do not worry about my criticism, but I wonder if everyone in your country follows stupid laws?
I understand the ban on the sale of drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, weapons to children, why TV? Can't he take it home?
There are no age restrictions for mining and for using bitcoin.
My 5 year old has a debit card in Russia. He can go to the store's website and order TV for home delivery.
2327  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs Binance on: February 17, 2023, 08:43:59 PM
SEC is a hypocrite. Why don't they start with the USDT (or USDC) first and then sue BUSD? The answer is, they don't want competition. It is OK when Binance issuing USDT like a mad man and when somebody else does it oh no suddenly it is the end of the world. Shutting BUSD would potentially harm binance and if binance gets harmed every other US crypto exchange will benefit from it.
The SEC is not a hypocrite. What the Americans cannot lead, they will break. USDC is owned by large American companies and banks: Circle, Goldman Sachs ..
USDT is probably the next candidate.
There are a lot of questions regarding Binance, who knows where this company has an office?

Do you think they don't check the source of the funds? They do, as well as the banks involved in both sides (since it's also their job).
Do you think Kraken doesn't do that while it has a Money Business registration.
Why do you think they all have paragraphs about AML on their ToS,
If we compare the situation with banks, then in my country the receipt of funds over $ 9,000 is more likely to lead to a blocking of a bank account if I am not registered as an entrepreneur. Then the documents will be transferred to the tax authorities and they will conduct an investigation.
The situation will be similar with cryptocurrencies.

So far, this looks like a war between large companies for market influence, and the CEC acts as an executor of other people's interests. The market is growing, the number of projects is constantly increasing. And many do not like the leading position of the Binance crypto exchange in this market.

The road to the Rho upgrade has been a long one.

Over the course of development, the featureset for Rho has been in flux. Rho was initially slated to ship with the Cosmos SDK v0.46 with all the improvements in Groups and Governance.

As a result of a number of factors, it was decided to stay with the Cosmos SDK 0.45 release line. A number of features from the Cosmos SDK v0.46 release line will likely show up in future Cosmos Hub releases.

Dubai Prohibits Privacy Coins Like Monero Under New Crypto Rules
The issuance of anonymity-enhancing crypto are banned under the Emirate's new regulations for digital assets.

Is it a surprising news to you? If yes, then you were probably living under the rock. Slowly every nation will make rules to ban anonymous payment or privacy coins. It's just a matter of time. Anonymity is the biggest headache for the governments and this is effectively delaying the crypto adoption of many governments.

Dubai is usually known for their lenient rules and regulations. But when they are emphasizing on registering the crypto companies, they might have a plan for them. Let's just hope that the plan is favorable for the crypto market.
For me, this is not news and not a problem, if banks do not accept monero, I will change it to bitcoin. In Dubai, there is currently no verification of the source of funds, and many crypto users buy expensive real estate without verification. I think that this will end quickly, and property owners will be asked where they have so much money from and whether they paid taxes.

A very interesting trend is AML.
If the CUS procedure is almost everywhere, then in a few years AML will also be mandatory. And many hodlers will have problems. And some businessmen will have to sell coins on the shadow market and legalize new coins.

The article does not mention AML anywhere, it is only about the fact that the rules regarding the registration of crypto companies in France should be tightened. Laws on money laundering are already mandatory throughout the EU, only some member states do not implement them in full, but allow transactions of a certain value to be made without KYC.
You are right that the article does not say about AML. Most crypto companies support the KYC and AML requirements, but the AML procedure is more complex.

Many companies do not check the source of funds, and AML bots only check traces of fraudulent or criminal cryptocurrencies

Every serious business person respects the law and pays taxes, and I don't see any problem there for anyone, not even for ordinary people who legally trade with cryptocurrencies. Besides, why sell something at all if you can use it as currency - maybe not in France, but you can take your digital assets with you anywhere - go live in El Salvador or on an exotic trip to Boracay where no one will ask you about the origin of what you pay with.
Let's agree, are we following the law or not? Or we have 2 different wallets, one for legal use the other not.
If you go to another country and spend your cryptocurrencies there, and then other people spend your coins on illegal activities, then you may have problems with AML in your country.

And many hodlers will have problems.

Why would hodlers have problems?
Nobody knows that you're a hodler until you tell them about it. Even if you tell someone there's no way to prove it, unless that person also knows how you got your coins or you paid for it by sending money from your bank account to a centralized exchange.

Then what happens if they told people and there's AML rules?
Again nothing. AML regulation is not a ban. They can't ban bitcoin because they're a member of the EU the EU already has laws regarding it. Bitcoin companies like ATM operators are already a part of EU AML procedures.

One smart person said that the blockchain saves all traces. Modern algorithms can match the data if you transfer crypto assets.

France to Tighten Crypto Registration Rules Next January
"The plan, set to be endorsed by the National Assembly and Senate, veers away from a proposal to require a license as of October
Newly applying companies will have to meet extra rules on internal controls, cybersecurity and conflicts of interest, the text from the Joint Committee said. That's less onerous than a previous Senate position that would have required companies to seek a license.
The text agreed on by the special legislative committee is due to be approved by the Senate on Feb. 16 and the National Assembly on Feb. 28."
