UFO hearing: Crypto degens spare no time crafting 50 alien shitcoins
With the United States government accused of covering up extraterrestrial activity, crypto degens were quick to sprout a shiny batch of memecoins.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/ufo-hearing-alien-crypto-themed-memecoins
"Crypto degens have been quick to try and capitalize on a widely-watched hearing where former United States government officials have claimed the existence of alien spacecraft and “biologics."

Testifying under oath at the House Oversight Subcommittee on National Security, David Grusch, a former Pentagon task force member on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) and whistleblower, accused the U.S. government of covering up alien visitation to Earth.

The July 26 hearing has since gone viral, prompting over 50 alien, UFO, or other extra-terrestrial themed-tokens to crop up over the last 24 hours."

It's better to watch this from the side with popcorn. Of course, all this is a potential scam.

1362  Economy / Economics / Re: The gloomy light called subsidy. on: July 27, 2023, 09:40:42 AM
In general, I'm not a huge fan of subsidies. Subsidies might be necessary in some instances, but I think it should be considered as the last resort. To a certain extent, a government that has limited resources but is all too willing to provide subsidies left and right is an incompetent and lazy government. It's a government that's not creative or innovative enough, a government that doesn't study, analyze, and look for other ways and means to improve certain conditions. Subsidies are dole-outs. They're a band-aid solution. They're not sustainable. Money put into subsidy is most often money that is wasted.
I am not satisfied with the fact that the money for subsidies is wasted. If social services are well developed in the country and any citizen can apply for help, then this reduces crime in the country. And for low-income families, this is one way to survive in a difficult situation.

1364  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs Binance on: July 27, 2023, 09:14:42 AM
https://cointelegraph.com/news/binance-withdraws-crypto-license-germany
Binance has withdrawn its cryptocurrency custody license application in Germany. The exchange confirmed its withdrawal to Cointelegraph on July 26, nearly a month after reports of rejections from The German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).

On June 29, BaFin reportedly rejected the crypto exchange’s custody license. However, at the time, it was unclear whether the regulator officially denied Binance’s application or if it verbally informed the company. However, Binance has now confirmed that it has formally withdrawn its license application.

A spokesperson from Binance told Cointelegraph that it intends to re-apply for a license in Germany, with changes to its application reflecting the changes in the regulatory environment:

“Binance confirms that it has proactively withdrawn its BaFin application. The situation, both in the global market and regulation, has changed significantly. Binance still intends to apply for appropriate licensing in Germany, but it is essential that our submission accurately reflects these changes.“
1365  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Craig Wright Sanctions Hearing Today on: July 27, 2023, 09:11:27 AM
Will Craig Wright's attorneys try to explain away his conduct by using the same Aspergers excuse that worked wonders in the Miami trial?

The following evidence can’t be dismissed so easily...

https://davekleiman.substack.com/p/craig-wright-sanctions-hearing-on
Craig Wright is a scammer who wants to own the copyright to bitcoin in order to receive royalties from all crypto companies for the rest of his life. But no one will allow him to do this, and he will lose court cases in all countries. And since he has financial problems, he is forced "to spin like a snake in a hot pan" (C).

Within 2 years, while the EC will file an appeal, new crypto legislation may appear in the US if the right president wins the 2024 elections

There are some people in social media that have begun announcing a breaking news that the US house financial services committee in congress has passed a bill to create a regulatory framework for the cryptospace. Let us wait for more announcements from mainstream news and cryptonews media outlets and see if they share the documentation of the bill. I am quite certain that there will be some things in the bill that would be very head scratching for us hehehe.

My prediction, they will propose that there should be KYC on personal crypto wallets.
This is the USA, there are a lot of ideas and bills for all occasions, but the problem is that not all bills will become laws. This bill has a long way to go in the Senate.
Of course, if regulators allow US citizens to trade on crypto exchanges, then all wallets from which cryptocurrencies are received and to which cryptocurrencies are sent will have to undergo the KYC procedure.
1367  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: CBDC in Russia on: July 27, 2023, 08:56:51 AM
From August 1, the law will come into force, but CBDC won't work everywhere and it is not yet clear how this will work in practice.

I do not understand the idea of CBDC. The country does not want bitcoin to be legalized but since they see the people's interest in crypto coins, they decide to launch their own CBDCs. The government control CBDC with no control over the supply is a no threat to bitcoin.
Also when all the countries do not have their CBDC, how will they operate within the countries? One contury want to trade in fiat while other in CBDC  Huh  Or will the people be allowed to buy bitcoin through CBDC ?

I don't see this model working well as of the developments till now Huh
I'm sure the CBDCs have more global missions because they start around the same time. In Russia, the system of bans has never worked, so they don’t ban cryptocurrencies there and don’t even try to make legislation. In Russia, there are still no laws on cryptocurrencies. If the goals of the CBDC are total control of the population, then it will be necessary to reduce the number of banks and reduce the amount of сash.
1368  Economy / Economics / Re: Can CBDC users lose control of their money? on: July 26, 2023, 12:12:05 PM
CBDC is a digital currency issued by a central bank to be used as an alternative legal means of payment from other perspectives. With one-sided CBDC, it can threaten financial privacy and financial freedom, and the central bank will have a back door and very easy direct access to your bank account, and the means to monitor every digital transaction that is carried out is no exception.

So, in implementing CBDC, I think it is necessary to pay attention to economic conditions, technological readiness, community conditions, and applicable legal provisions with the aim that the implementation can run effectively and efficiently and accommodate community needs.
I see the goal of launching the CBDC as destroying the entire global financial system. The main goal is to kill many small and middle banks that will not be able to compete due to the gradual restrictions with the introduction of CBDC. Only large banks will remain, and people will not replace how digital collars are put on them.
1369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A neighbor next door on: July 26, 2023, 12:02:51 PM
If you are aware that your neighbor living next door is into drug dealing and he come seek your advice how to buy Bitcoin, will you teach him?

What comes straight to mind is embezzling the ill-gotten money, but is this even safe? My other neighbor knows I am into Bitcoin and he learned from me, I guess that's how this other neighbor knew, I told him to go meet the next neighbor but he said he is not ready to teach.

What will you do if something like this is happening around you? Why would a drug dealer want to learn Bitcoin if not for a safer haven for running the business?

My mind isn't settled as I keep thinking different things, what is on your mind readers?
"All traces of crimes remain in the blockchain"(С)
Bitcoin has long been not the best tool for crime. After the server of a store or trading platform is seized by the police or other special services, blockchain analysts will find many participants in transactions and ways to cash out money.
1370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to deal with shitcoiners without being harsh about reality. on: July 26, 2023, 11:54:22 AM
Why fight with altcoins in this market, if it is better to try to understand the system of manipulation and earn money. You only need to fight with scam and warn newbies about it. I believe that any project should have a chance, otherwise it contradicts all the principles of decentralization, but competent risk management must be observed when investing in altcoins.

tokenomics
https://www.coindesk.com/business/2023/07/24/worldcoin-release-tokenomics-report-geofenced-for-some-countries/
"75% of the tokens have been earmarked for the community, 13.5% to investors of Tools for Humanity, 9.8% to the initial development team and 1.7% in reserve. The allocation to insiders has increased to 25% from 20% stated earlier because the process of developing and launching the network was more "complex and costly" that initially thought, as well as the challenging market environment. Investor and team tokens will be locked up at launch and slowly released after the first year and for the next two years.
All 7.5 billion WLD, which will go to the community was minted before the launch, and the foundation aims to allocate 6 billion of those to users, but they will be unlocked over 15 years, said a Worldcoin representative. However, none of the tokens allocated to users are locked up, said the representative. Not all 2.5 billion WLD for insiders has been allocated."

25 WLD "genesis grant" will be unlocked within 15 years?
1372  Bitcoin / Legal / CBDC in Russia on: July 26, 2023, 11:23:13 AM
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/putin-signs-digital-ruble-bill-224312972.html?

"Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed into law a bill that will grant legal tender to a “digital ruble” amid severe Western sanctions and rising inflation brought on by the war in Ukraine.

Under the bill, Putin has granted legal authority to the Bank of Russia—the country's central bank—to serve as the platform operator for the central bank digital currency (CBDC). The bill also provides legal definitions for users and specifies how banks will operate under the new framework.

Although the bill now has Putin’s green light, Russian officials have said they do not expect the digital ruble to be widely adopted for years. In an interview with Forbes, Olga Skorobogatova, the deputy chair of the central bank, said most citizens will only begin receiving access to online wallets by 2025 at the earliest."

From August 1, the law will come into force, but CBDC won't work everywhere and it is not yet clear how this will work in practice.

I ask you to refrain from politics, only economics and laws will be involved.
I wrote about the implementation of CBDC in Nigeria, and now I want to describe this process in Russia in detail

1373  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Buying property with crypto on: July 26, 2023, 11:12:41 AM
Maybe in years coming if there is a need for Bitcoin to become a general currency then the aim of Satoshi Nakamoto will be accomplished but there is still fear that Bitcoin might become regulated.
On the contrary, the vision of Satoshi is not to make bitcoin a general currency according to you. His goal was to create a decentralized currency which will serve as a alternative to the centralized fiat system. Counting my this, Satoshi's goal has been met and even exceeded.
I agree with you, but it is still too early to talk about achieving the goal, because digital currencies are launched almost simultaneously in all countries, and after testing them, there are so many risks that Bitcoin and similar cryptocurrencies can be banned because they interfere with digital slavery.

1375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Islamic Coin- the Shariah-Compliant Digital Money for the HAQQ Ecosystem ! on: July 26, 2023, 10:47:04 AM
I am thrilled to introduce Islamic Coin (ISLM), the native currency of the HAQQ Network, bringing a new era of possibilities for the global Muslim community and blockchain enthusiasts alike ! 🔥

No matter how I feel about religion, but all known attempts to cross religion and cryptocurrencies have always ended in scam. These things are not compatible and such statements in the description of coins are just trying to parasitize on people's faith and on various religious confessions. Someone just invented another clone of a famous coin and decided to wrap it in a religious wrapper for their own enrichment.

P.S. My post in no way offends Islam. It is only about cryptocurrency.

They just use the religion word and insert that in their token so that they can gather attention then target those people in that particular religion. Investors should know that religion should not associated with business and if someone using it for sure it will just end up scamming the same with other token who use someones faith just to take advantage of other people's money.

Your post will not offend islam since its valid opinion regarding on what mostly you see here.
The principle of Sharia says that before investing, you need to make sure that such investments are permissible. DeFi projects are in most cases prohibited by Sharia, although I have not seen a direct ban on the use of Decentralized exchangers.I cannot yet imagine a decentralized model of such an ecosystem and similar projects do not survive.

first ZKsync protocol

https://www.bitcoininsider.org/article/220933/era-lend-zksync-exploited-34m-reentrancy-attack
Era Lend on zkSync exploited for $3.4M in reentrancy attack

The lending app was drained of funds using a “read-only reentrancy” bug, a type of vulnerability that is often difficult for auditors to spot.

"Lending app Era Lend on zkSync has been exploited for $3.4 million worth of crypto, according to a July 25 report from blockchain security firm CertiK. The attacker used a “read-only reentrancy attack” to drain the funds, which is a type of attack that interrupts a multi-step process and then causes it to continue after a malicious action has been performed. Specifically, a “read-only” reentrancy is one that does not update the state of a contract."

HAQQ is a centralized platform or not? If your platform is centralized, then it is very bad, if your platform is decentralized, then after launching decentralized applications on it that work by analogy with credit products, your platform will no longer comply with Islamic requirements.
How do you plan to solve this problem?
