Ugh.. so many error in the code... unbelievable
yep! There really isn't any excuse to NOT get a 100% passing score from my lil script these days. pretty much ALL of the tests are against known and verified updates and can be considered "basic maintenance" of coin source code Doesn't seem like the Dev had any idea what he's actually doing

On my i5-3570k, the miner rocks, but on my G1820 and G1840, though load is at 100%, I never get further than the yellow difficulty line. Could someone please help me ? My rigs with dual core keep saying stratum_recv_line failed, stratum connection interrupted, and dont show on the pool. On my personal pc, fx6100 its working nice. Watching for fix too. What's your cmdline? Using the default for all rigs. cpuminer -a lyra2rev2 -o stratum+tcp://xzc.suprnova.cc:5595 -u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password Looks good, maybe try xzc-stratum.suprnova.cc but the other should be fine too

so the estimates on pool are clearly wrong, i'm not making 100 per day for sure more like 10 if lucky
I didn't had a close look at the estimates yet, it's not so easy getting this low hash coin working with MPOS anyway

is it possible to lower the difficulty on the pool? either make different ports for small and large difficulties. just a small miners or what not to get when the short round.
Just wait approximately 2 mindls after you've started mining and diff should automatically drop if you're submitting too few shares
|
|
|
@ocminer , the pool shows no active workers...
Should be okay now, if not, restart the worker, someone doesn't like the pool and ddos'd it again
|
|
|
yeah i see there is a delay before the hash begin
Yes, but it should start in 1-2 minutes after launch
|
|
|
To mitigate a DDoS I've had to increase default diff a bit on the Port, it might need a few seconds to target down after you connect, don't worry, it'll even out in 2-3 minutes after you've started the miner.

any gpu miner available?
no now where's our miners developers in the house? All we need is someone to compile windows binaries for the QT wallet and OC's miner. I tried with Visual Studio 2015 but got errors. I have no idea how to build either source.. so sad. me too, need to learn more code! CODE IS LAW!! Well a windows miner binary is here: https://github.com/ocminer/cpuminer-xzc/releasessome say it works, some say it doesn't

how many of my shares is one share in the pool?
1 share from the miner = 256 shares in the pool, but the important factor is your overall difficulty, not shares. I find the shares and the pool shows zero I don't know what your math but it seems that for some blocks no payout Look in "Statistics-> Round Transactions" and find your username there. Yes, "Shares" is 0 for some rounds, but you still have reward because difficulty is calculated, not the shares, thats what I've tried to explain you.

Genesis Mining
Hello Miners!
If possible, please refrain from using this thread as a commercial thread for some cloud hashing providers, personally I don't like them as I don't see anything good they bring to coins / launches neither in short or long-term. Miners can mine with their own equipment just perfectly. Thanks In this case not really. I've been following zcash for a long time now. Toomim brothers claim they have a GPU miner that is 100x better than the zcashd. How are we going to compete with that? They don't like the zcash open source bounty and I assume they will rather sell it to a private farm which will most likely destroy the network until a solid open source miner comes out. Don't know man. I think new algo is a fresh breat of air, but this shouldn't cause injustice. Claim here, claim there, claim everywhere My neighbour claims my cat shits in his garden but my cat never shits outside.. Remember the claims when eth launched ? Just mine with what you have, there will be some GPU miner public at launch, don't worry and then you're good. I don't see any advantage investing in cloudhashing even before launch as zcash will also have a "slow launch" so the rewards are ramping up slowly and reach full reward after 30 days so the only folks earning money are the cloud hashing operators. The most important things: 1. Don't panic, we had similar launches before 2. Get your gear ready for mining, test as much as you can to get ready for launch 3. Don't panic, there's still the 30 day slow start 4. Don't buy GPU miners or buy anything before launch, there will still be plenty available after launch 5. Don't panic, do your diligence.

Yes, but those results seem to be the BitcoinMiner Results.. i'm not 100% sure but they look "ok" to me. Can anyone tell if he's mining with the Miner on windows ? all good ?

Somebody sent me a compiled version of the Miner: https://github.com/ocminer/cpuminer-xzc/releasesHowever - Please Virusscan the Miner, I cannot guarantee for the file ! @adaseb: The good thing about python is, it can use c modules, so yes, I simply copy over the code 1:1 and modify input and output ... Thats about it. Then you use an input string like "deadcafebabedeadcafebabedeadbeefbeef" and let it run through your hashing function in python which spits something out like 00abcdef012309aaabbbcc313921aaaaabbbb33232323 - this is the hash which you then compare with your stratum module and if both hashes match - you're basically done and got a new algo ready. (this was a veeery shortened version of whats actually going on.. Sometimes it takes 2-3 days until that stuff is good.. with A LOT trial and error )

Can you compile and post a binary? I am getting some dependency errors.
Or help me compile properly. I am getting the CANNOT FIND -lpthreadsGC2 when the pthreadsGC2.dll is in MinGW/bin/
The last time I did anything @ windows was when Windows 7 came out I can tell you anyhting or compile anything under Linux but I'm sorry, I can't help for Windows. Yeah it compiled in Ubuntu no problem just trying to get it for Windows. Also when you were writing this algorithm, is it really Lyra2 or something else? It looked like some pyminer.py was doing the mining and the algorithm was more along the lines of SHA256 than Lyra2. Hmm I've tried to get a VM running to compile the miner but hey.. It's freakin' harder to get the build environment going under windows than getting a stratum pool going for zcash This algo is pure Lyra2 with some crazy values.. Yes I used python for testing and then switched over to C(++) as testing scripts are written in a snap in python. Whereas Vertcoin uses some special "light" version of Lyra2(RE) it was a chained algo (like X11) were Lyra2 was one of the algos in the chain with quite light values, so it wasn't so hard to mine. Here, I'm not sure if the devs really know what they were doing, they dropped all the chained algos and cranked the Lyra2 "hardness" waaayy beyond maximum and that makes the algo so slow. As they are also using the block height as a difficulty factor in the algo, it gets harder with every new mined block. At some point blockchain height will reach a value where it will be too hard to mine and the chain will stall - it will probably be forked before that happens.
