2361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum and additional gas fees on: October 12, 2021, 02:19:39 AM
This is one of the reasons why the users and developers of ETH are going away and doing new projects. Many people are collaborating and creating new chains, and they are faster and better than ETH. It's just that ETH is like the BTC of contracts. It's the starter of that, and it has paved the way to development and making faster and better technology.

Many people are surprised with how much it can be but do not know how much you know the network is valued. It's not wise to transact at such a high rate, but people are using it because of its applications.
2362  Other / Off-topic / Re: BattleBots : Is This Another Form of Sports? on: October 11, 2021, 01:53:47 PM
If you are from a technological institute, university, or school, you know probably this. Especially if you are in the engineering and robotics department or something, I think it's interesting to let non-living things that you create out of different materials and create something that can destroy something like this and make yourself the supreme winner. Can it be sports as well, right? By definition itself, as long as you are competing with another team, it can be considered.

It would be fun to participate in this, though or maybe just bet on. Probably the winners here are the not-so-obvious ones. The ones who are considered not so tacky looking or something.
2363  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoin-wallet.org? on: October 11, 2021, 09:59:08 AM
I'm surprised with the donation address there, it has balance. Maybe from the seeds and hacks that were generated there? Better not generate any seeds or input any seed phrase there. It's better to just send them your coins if you are going to use that lol. It's not ideal to do any business with that. I hope no one got victimized by this.

I fail to understand why they collect some browser fingerprint (such as width/height) when the website is about bitcoin wallet. Whether it's scam or not, no one should use this website.
Maybe it's for web design purposes? I thought it was for design but after checking the website itself, it's not in any way aesthetic in design but clean.
2364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is avax better than solana ? on: October 11, 2021, 09:16:04 AM
I did hear a lot of noise the past few months with AVAX, but it's SOL who had won the crowd's favor since it has the most increase in price value. When you look at the technology behind it, they probably have a lot of differences, but it's not the overall thing to check on. It's how the people will utilize and possibly make a profit on it. It's going to be a challenge towards what it could offer to people.

I think SOL has proven something because the surge of the NFT space and the super-high gas fees of ETH is not in any way economical; people have turned to SOL. AVAX may follow suit, but for now, it's best to consider the possible risks.
2365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can China Ban on Bitcoin have any negative effect on Bitcoin in future? on: October 11, 2021, 07:49:27 AM
As numerous members have said it already, they have banned it multiple times, and look at BTC now; it's still strong and is in that bull run that we all want. I think they are probably making a scene and making a dump in the market to scoop up BTC at a lower price, and they can profit quickly in this way. Maybe they have something planned for this type of thing. Imagine if the whole population of China was to use or buy BTC; that's probably a great way to pump the price.
2366  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: There is a regular range of fluctuations in the market, how should we trade? on: October 11, 2021, 07:27:42 AM
yep, i agree mate. And maybe op need more tools to get more information of the trend of bitcoin nowadays. Actually i used trend line for this situation because for sure when it breaks out it will going back to the current resistance or more since the growth rate is very fine at the moment, and also some useful indicators to avoid false break out as its happening very often in the market. But probably there's no more factors that can stop bitcoin on this situation as it still keep showing a potential day by day..
I would personally enjoy fewer indicators on my chart than more, so I think it's okay for the OP to do that. Maybe the tool to catch the perfect trade needs like trading bots (see my personal text) shameless plug.

Anyway, trendlines are subjective in some way. You will determine which candle you would start/end with and will likely differ from person to person approach. It's always going to be quite hard to decide on and predict the correct movement of the market, so you would always need to be aware of your risk management and make sure that you need it to be in place and follow it like religion.

2368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is USDT a trustable? on: October 11, 2021, 03:02:01 AM
I don't think they will scam anybody out of their USDT but what they can do is "scam or trick" the regulators or the auditors with how much they have that in their vaults and how much they have circulating in the crypto space. It should be at a 1:1. 1 USD backing of 1 USDT in crypto. I remember that that was the issue way before this, and they did it to pump BTC before, and now that BTC has reached higher highs recently, I doubt that there would be scamming involved or something unless there are hackers that use that, though.
2369  Economy / Economics / Re: Taiwan invasion - how would it affect bitcoin on: October 11, 2021, 02:47:55 AM
I think this will affect Bitcoin negatively (in the short term), and the reasons that I thought of are

1. The need for semiconductors is never-ending, thus affecting the market if they were to halt operations
This tendency is that many people would have to liquidate their assets to purchase the stuff they want or need that involves possibly semiconductor devices. Probably in Taiwan market would be most affected.

2. People affected will find other ways to earn, and it can be with cryptocurrencies or Bitcoin in general.
- This could affect the price negatively if they need to liquidate money fast.

It's important to note that the world will be okay since they are not one of the top exporters in the world, but it can still affect the lives there. I'm looking forward to what cryptocurrency can do more for us in the distant future, as it is essential and valuable to everyone. I do hope that a lot of people would even use it and share it with their peers.

2370  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: There is a regular range of fluctuations in the market, how should we trade? on: October 09, 2021, 03:24:13 PM
I am sharing the image posted by the OP. It's pretty hard to visualize what you are talking about without any screen to share.

Once you break the 56000, it will go higher and probably reach the ATH and even higher now. I think the range we are in now is healthy—hoping for the continuous uptrend until the end of this year.

2372  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I need help about some coin prices. on: October 07, 2021, 05:29:43 AM
People here are cautious because it's hard to be blamed for something you speculated in. There's no guarantee with anything anymore, and you could only do it for yourself and don't want to affect somebody else's decision because of you. That's just the way it works here. Unless you are willing to succumb to crypto signals, plenty of free channels give it out, but it's usually a fraud or not an effective way to approach it.

Take care of yourself with those PMs. I know many members here have mentioned it already, but it's never wrong to remind you again to be careful.
2373  Other / Meta / Re: Games category on: October 07, 2021, 12:35:48 AM
Is it about NFT games? I think a dedicated board would be nice as well. Since it's not just about the token itself, discussion in ANN in the altcoin board might not be enough. It can become flooded or out of topic unlike if there's a dedicated board.
2374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC Chair Dodges Question About Regulatory Status of Bitcoin on: October 06, 2021, 06:22:50 AM
So basically, the SEC Boss needs more help in understanding how it can regulate cryptocurrencies since it's an investment vehicle hence still security, right?

I think some people might get confused with the title since it's just about not reviewing the Safe Harbor proposal by Hester Peirce. As indicated in the article
Quote
Gensler seemingly avoided McHenry’s question about whether or not he has reviewed Peirce’s “safe harbor” proposal.

For those interested, I found this link:

2375  Economy / Economics / Re: Is budgeting still effective in tackling the need to constantly withdraw money? on: October 06, 2021, 05:26:26 AM
The need for budgeting is endless and efficient to anyone who is handling money. It's always going to be a necessity whenever there is money involved and the need for living. Just living expenses and the utilities that one should have should be a priority. So if that would require you constantly withdrawing and using that to live, then there's nothing wrong with that. You have to bear the feeling of possible regret converting too early or not believing in an asset totally, but that's just a part of life. I think what you are doing for your future should be proper and correct for you.

Budgeting is a key to financial freedom and consistently tracking all your expenses and where your money goes.
2376  Other / Archival / Re: Hyperlink under the avatar on: October 05, 2021, 07:03:28 PM
Limiting it to the ranking of the users here should do the trick to prevent some of the possible scams. Possibly with merit requirement to make sure that the user is active and participating in the forum. I'm thinking of the problems like misclicks towards the link and could contain malicious contents or something. If the user is interested in the link, they will highlight it and go to the site.
2377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Was thinking about switching wallets to a local one on: October 05, 2021, 02:07:38 PM
I know it's not that hard, but most user don't bother do something like this, especially if they don't have the tool (such as screwdriver which match the laptop & soldering iron).
Not everyone even knows what a soldering iron is and they might think it's for clothes lol. Anyway, almost anyone can do a video search and see how it's being done. It just keeps on getting complicated.

Or run this command once.
Code:
sudo systemctl disable networking
That's if they are experienced with Linux.  Shocked.

Run this two lines I guess for Windows

Code:
netsh interface show interface
netsh interface set interface "name of interface" disable
2378  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Basic Types of Trading on: October 05, 2021, 01:51:26 PM
I appreciate your post here even though it requires more and more study and discussion so newbies can understand. It's easy to say that this and this goes with this but the practical application would be the best way to learn. Like registering to Binance or any other exchange that provides those different markets and just see the features in it.

One of the best ways to learn about trading is through the academy of Binance. I just appreciate how they provided so much knowledge and just made it into the academy. It's worthwhile reading.

2379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Was thinking about switching wallets to a local one on: October 05, 2021, 09:41:33 AM
If you have an extra laptop lying around, you can do a complete wipe to it and never connect it to the internet.
It's not enough to just not connect to the internet. There should no longer be a possibility to do it. You need to make sure that you don't have the required hardware to ever establish such a connection. That entails the Ethernet and WIFI card.

I feel it's a bit excessive, unless you HODL lots of Bitcoin. Besides, it's not easy task if you need to open your laptop or the Ethernet/WiFi card is soldered into the motherboard. It's more realistic to disable/uninstall the networking service.
I was thinking of removing the wifi card. I think it's kind of replaceable, depending on the laptop of course but de-soldering is easy, you just need a soldering iron though lol. Maybe you can search for your laptop on the internet and see a Wi-Fi hardware upgrade and then find it just to remove there. Better take the hardware wallet route lol.
