With Bitcoin going up so high and such low trading volume, it looks like someone is buying. Is there a whale quietly buying Bitcoin?

I would say low volume + higher prices = few people willing to sell at current prices.
2382  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: January 29, 2013, 09:58:41 AM
Note to self: have some spare cash on gox available to buy when you see crazy bullish signals.
Do not: be happy the action is going to be bullish, realize you should actually be buying when you are convinced it will be bullish 2 days later, wire the cash to have it arrive when the rally will probably be halfway over.....

Second time this is happening now, sigh, I should learn from my mistakes....
2383  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: January 29, 2013, 01:44:02 AM
She's not lookin' so good right now boys...

 Cool

What are you talking about, price is holding out perfectly fine. You can't expect a $0.5 rise every 3 hours...

Yet it was not gold gold, silver or even tungsten that was the object of derision in an amusing paper released by the ECB in early November titled "Virtual Currency Schemes", which we profiled at the time, but rather the decentralized electronic currency BitCoin, which was supposed to highlight what, in the eyes of the Draghi-led Frankfurt institutions, is nothing but a Ponzi scheme.

Another big fail for the Tylers  Roll Eyes

Good news is comments seem to get better. And like iCEBREAKER said, MDB is one of the mastertrolls of ZH. His comment is actually a very good thing !

How is this a Tyler-fail?  They aren't bashing bitcoin.

Because the ECB report doesn't say that bitcoin is a ponzi scheme.

True

Gosh, it could be *days*! /impatient

:-)

Ente

$20 probably would have a fight and even a correction. Not a easy reach, so I'd say weeks.

Heck no!  Days it is !

Awesome!!!

Yep, but it's important to positively dispel all the various misconceptions and invite people to maybe consider it just for their online shopping if nothing else.. Don't let those trolls try to defame Bitcoin spouting various fallacies go unchallenged. But please be polite!

Even though I read a lot of their articles, I don't have a ZH account, but you are doing a fine job Hazek.  JimRogers is too fanatical/aggressive imho.

A lot of bullshitting remarks are being made.  But I guess the clever people will mostly stay quiet, see through the dung-slinging, and given enough rational arguments, look further into bitcoin. (I even suspect 1 or a few of the Tylers are looking into it more seriously, their reporting has being turning more positive) --> Here is me expecting more funds to flow into BTC over the next 2 months.  Both the market action the last week and the news today have been awesome.

well looks like we've hit a brick wall

Price is really flirting with the 18 level, yeah.  Wouldn't call it a brick wall though, I suspect we'll move through it some time in the near future (<2 days).

Pretty darn accurate, I am 90% male myself.
2394  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: January 27, 2013, 10:24:17 PM
Maybe we should divide it in three threads:

1) "I wish the price falls/rises, so I can buy/sell again"
2) "At the moment the following walls are present:"
3) "I believe the price will do x because of technical explanation y"

But this here.. A wild combination of all three, with the loudest and most babbling voices trying to manipulate the price the most, for silly amounts like 10btc..
Really, this thread is to "speculation" what /b/ is to the internet.

Some months ago I finally stopped daytrading, which was a very healthy decision for my wallet. Maybe another healthy decision is due now..

Ente

I love this thread, wouldn't change anything about it.  It is fun and occasionally offers some insight (between all the bullshitting).  If you want it to be functional: look at it as a trader sentiment meter.
2395  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: January 27, 2013, 06:28:39 AM
thanks to paper wallets, and having BTC funds dispersed everywhere, i was only able to panic sell 10BTC  Cheesy

Lucky you, I though you were short bigtime.  At the moment it seems like 17 is a new equilibrium point, might drop to 16, but right now i don't see it going further than that, the action is a lot more bullish than i would have thought 'post-bubble'.

To be honest, I think proudhon is a nice bear.  From what I have seen he just states his beliefs in a respectful way.

he says the same tired dirbble he's been spouting for over a year.

I know, but if bitcoin had been going down for the last year, we would be saying "its gonna go back up" too, no?

He set all kinds of targets, confidently. And when they all get broken, he still repeated the same thing, and sometimes he was a bit like"whatever I am seeing now, it is gonna collapse next minute". Which is quite a bit weird for me.

Yeah that's true  Smiley  Maybe he is just putting up a show for the fun of it?

There's a great reason to go down, and it's a reason I'm sure lots of people are considering right now -- "I want more bitcoins".  Enough people thinking that catalyze long trend changes.  The big dumps were the big boys telling everyone which way they want to go, and it'll only be a matter of time before the herd complies.  This is just the way it works around here.

Bullshit. Not with the news like this: Infiniti Poker Set to Go Live in February: Will Use Bitcoins for Americans
Online Casinos Attracted By BitCoin
And many more of the like.

Let me guess, you sold?  Grin

oh look, proudhon is talking

We are leaving our physical world people, don't stay attached to it...

Since when are electrons and photons not part of our physical world?  I think you mean to say the micro/nano/whatever scale is becoming increasingly important over the macro scale.
