Depends on how you look at it.  Does DASH do well if Bitcoin dies from this test?

Yes. They are finding the issues but not the solutions

As an example solution, why not add a spork to set a min fee override? When the network gets attacked, the developers (via a multisig spork, another improvement we've been talking about) just up the fees until they run out of money or they stop.

So masternode blinding is the one thing you are missing from the coin you love so much and you are angry it's not implemented yet.
...

Dash v13 will have a different type of blinding. I've reinvented the way it works and it's a million times better, literally. It's going to be really slick.
Can't wait  Grin
Is this part of the 50 page whitepaper or is V13 to put us on until even more earth shattering stuff ?

Nope, it's in the other 25 page whitepaper... it's been a productive couple weeks.  Cheesy Let's just say we're changing our tagline from "Reinventing cryptographic currency" to "Reinventing Money."

You like Dash but you say it's a scam to scare people and let them dump so you can buy the cheap coins. Wink

MN payments were on hold while the Superblocks passed, we are back to normal !

What?  So you are telling me that every month my payments are going to be held or skipped?

Each month masternode payments will be delayed by the amount of proposals that are paid. So for example this month, it means people will receive payments 3 blocks late. No payments are ever skipped from the budget system.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: September 07, 2015, 02:54:47 PM
What's the best definition for describe a superblocks ?

What is a superblock and how does it work with the budget system?

The budget system has many stages, first a proposal is prepared and submitted to the network. At this point it doesn't qualify to get paid, it will require a full day to mature, then afterward it requires at least 10% of the network to vote yes to make it into what we call the "budget projection". The budget projection is simply all of the proposals that qualify to get paid, sorted in order by YesCount-NoCount (the amount of masternodes that voted Yes on a given proposal, minus the amount of nodes that voted NO), then when the budget system runs out of money for that payment period it will stop adding proposals to the projection.

Later on the network will take the budget projection and finalize it. This is the stage where the rest of the masternode network will compare their projection to the the finalized budget and if they match they will vote "Yes". If more than 10% of the network votes yes on the finalized budget, then when the next super block is reached, the network will create these blocks. Superblocks simply pay one proposal per block until the budget per month is paid, for example the last superblocks began on 332320 and ended on 332322.

What's really cool is we will use this to expand the narrative to the general public, create a great website and make some really easy conversation pathways to get people into the ecosystem. When we see some price appreciation, we'll actually have more money to work with, that will allow us to do even more and use better services and reward those that work on the project to a greater extent. We can also use it to pay for legal expenses when they come up and pretty much anything else to protect the ecosystem and make sure the general public is getting the correct information about what we are. We are officially the most decentralized project in crypto and probably even the world? We're planning on solving all of the problems in crypto in ways that are scalable and decentralized and believe we have the solutions for these already, unlike Bitcoin, with centralized Lightning, centralized mixing, centralized instant transactions, soon to be centralized infrastructure (larger blocks will create that),  centralized governance and centralized funding.

If you want more information about the budget system, you should download the client and try messing with the console. Here's all of the commands that are available:

By the way, we have the technology we need now to show the world, the killer app for Bitcoin is Dash. We are Bitcoin 2.0. We can't allow something to take over that is so centralized by design, when there are other far superior ways of doing things. The future needs pure decentralized system. We also now have a very stable foundation to work with, while we implement the next generation of crypto. Buckle your seat belts, we're ready to go  Wink

I don't get it IceShitter, you call DASH a scam and you sir are quite clearly are a scammer yourself! Ironic don't you think?

The true irony is knowing about this project so early in it's life and not seeing what is right in front of you. That's going to sting in five years...

normally the syncing masternode winners stagnate at 75% for some time (could take some 20-30 minutes, sometimes less) when starting the wallet which creates all these messages in your debug.log
after 20-30 minutes it then syncs the masternode winners completely. I think there is already a fix in progress on Github about this..
Thanks!
I thought that this problem is only on mn wallet

I'm working on a patch for this right now. The reason we're having this issue at all is because it only popped up with 3000 masternodes on the network. We need a much better funded testnet for future versions... maybe a budget item could get us closer?

end-result should be : "Voted successfully"

To check the current votes : ./dash-cli mnbudget show
Currently 187 YEAS for all three budget proposals

If you want to specifically vote against a specific budget because you dont agree with it  then change the "yes" into a "no"

Let's assume that I have a wallet with 2 masternodes listed in masternode.conf.
I want to vote using 1 masternode (ie: less than many)
Is the syntax:
Code:
./dash-cli mnbudget vote mn1 eac63...87 yes
(where mn1 = the alias of one of the masternodes)

good question, i leave that for the dev-team to answer

It's suppose to be vote-alias, but I never got around to writing it!

Budgets Are Live

A note about the budget system: https://dashtalk.org/threads/budget-proposal-promotion-reimbursement-core-team.6006/page-3#post-65235

I've added the budgets to the system and we are all set to vote. All you have to do to vote is load up a client with the masternode.conf. Your actual funds are NOT required to be online to vote on proposals

./dash-cli mnbudget vote-many eac6392cd0d63e4b2ebd3c60da2d3e13137c892cd4cd1a8f3885077ac86b7487 yes

DASH you are hereby invited to participate in a anonymity #PepsiChallenge

Not that market cap means much, but just for the record...

DASH does have a larger market cap than BBR. Nobody can dispute that. But can your anonymity compete? If you think it can, don't run away from the challenge.

I still don't understand how you can compete on anonymity. Either a transaction is anonymous or it isn't. If you'd like, I'd be happy to create an 8-round Darksend transaction this weekend and you can work on breaking the anonymity by revealing the original address it was sent from.

Maybe one day, if your coin gets more attention and becomes a serious contender, somebody will take the time to test your anonymity and try to break it.

But there isn't such a thing as "more anonymous." Either it's anonymous or it isn't. You are welcome to try and break Darksend's anonymity--we welcome it. In fact, there will probably be a fund set up in the future to reward anyone who can successfully break our anonymity.

Anyway, while anonymity is still an important core feature of Dash, we've moved *way* past that now. We have InstantX to allow instantaneous transactions (fully confirmed within four seconds) and the ability to use InstantX-type "locks" to blow Bitcoin out of the water when it comes to scalability. We've already reached several hundred transactions per second in testing. Blockchain pruning is also on the table for future development. Our two-tiered system of miners and masternodes allows extraordinary flexibility and the development of incredible new features.

The real trick is to create a system that can do both private and public transactions depending on what the user wants. The need for privacy is more about fungibility in the long term then having 100% privacy in the ledger.

Let me present our first unofficial DASH Promo video in English language (produced by common efforts)
"Dash = Digital Cash"

Link for distribution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1HYBMcyEPQ

You can view and download it in several resolutions, up to full-HD (1920*1080).

It is based on my Russian video, but was improved and adopted for English (western) Audience.

English Transcrypt:
- Introducing DASH, a new form of digital cash which combines the advantages of cash and electronic payments providing a new level of financial freedom.
- Despite the growth of banking technology, paper currency is still your best option to prevent banks and governments from monitoring your transactions.
- Cash works great for face to face transactions, but when it comes to transferring funds over the internet or across the world you have to use modern, electronic methods.
- But as soon as you give up control of your cash to a bank, it’s not yours anymore. Your funds can be tracked, limited, or even blocked at any time.
- On top of this, central banks have the power to devalue or even confiscate your money.
- Up until now, we had to put up with these risks because there was no alternative. Now there’s DASH, an independent decentralized cryptocurrency which can be transferred electronically, but leaves you in full control of your money.
- By now, you’ve probably heard of Bitcoin, the first widely accepted cryptocurrency. Now it’s time to learn about DASH, which takes Bitcoin to another level by focusing on privacy.
- DASH is your own personal digital cash protected using advanced cryptography. Transactions are processed not by a bank, but by the distributed power of thousands of independent computers all over the world. You can transfer money anywhere. Safely, instantly, privately. These transfers can’t be tracked or blocked.
- DASH can be exchanged easily for dollars, euros, or any other currency using internet exchanges or even face to face. The total supply of DASH is fixed, eliminating the risks of inflation or deflation.
- Gone are the days when you have to pay outrageous fees and wait days to transfer funds. DASH is instant, private, and most transactions cost less than a penny.
- You can store DASH on your computer, phone, flash drive or even a sheet of paper using advanced security techniques.
- Simply download and install the DASH wallet program to begin using the most advanced, private form of digital cash available. You’ll be able to send and receive anonymous payments without giving your personal information to any 3rd party.
- On the official DASH website you can learn more about this exciting new technology.
- Be sure to share the link to this video with your friends and family. For more information please visit dashpay dot io.
