243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar on: August 07, 2014, 04:27:52 PM
Is there a nice compiled list or something comparing this and XRP? What is the difference?

There is no "guide" or list or something. But they posted many things on their Github. Google should yield good results Wink

246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2015 on: August 07, 2014, 04:19:59 PM
Definatly one of the cryptonight coins (probably monero).

DO you mean cryptonotes?
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ether or Stellar ? on: August 07, 2014, 02:28:54 AM
Well, Stellar is the EXACT SAME as that fail, scam Ripple, with "better distribution". Ethereum is a completely new thing all together.

So, anyone who doesn't have their head up their ass, would obviously choose Ethereum.

But is the question really what is the better tech, or is it what is the better investment?

Because if I had to chose to invest into either right now, I would decline and spend the BTC on hookers and blows. Way better return. Wink
248  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: August 07, 2014, 02:27:47 AM
Please keep this thread updated.  It is a nice place to see information about signature campaigns.

Yeah, I use it as a "go-to" all the time. Thank you BTCinfo
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin STILL has the highest number of ACTIVE ADDRESSES of all the altcoins. on: August 07, 2014, 02:27:13 AM
The problem with Doge is that it has no apparent functional utility in comparison to the other alts.

So then why are people using it more than the other altcoins?

Because there's a lot of coins to be thrown around.

That's the fun of doge, being able to transact in these large denominations seemingly without worry that you're losing anything.

I use Doge often to exchange because it easy to get and it's highly fungible, that doesn't mean I believe in it's model or future value.

You just listed one of Dogecoin's utilities.

Why would someone use Dogecoin and not Litecoin for exchange then?

He didn't say litecoin has more utility, or did he?

I think the problem is, that a coin has no reason to exist if it doesn't offer anything unique. Sure it will stick around for a few years, maybe 1-2 decades, but it will get lost in translation once other, superior techs and networks take over the market completely.
250  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much of your earning you are converting to BTC? on: August 07, 2014, 02:25:01 AM
Right now I'm converting 100% into BTC after I pay the usual monthly bills. History has taught me to be greedy in accumulation when bitcoin is "boring" or "stable".

I also converted a significant chunk of my BTC into Monero and I'm aggressively trying to decrease my XMR:BTC ratio without selling any XMR.

Yeah, if we're looking at previous charts, you are right. Simply investing during such times has been a good thing, but we can't be certain it will remain that way, though! We may go further down from here! But respect to your optimistic stance on this!

I've bought bitcoin at $10, $12, $120...the sentiment at these levels was the same as it is now. Stagnant, trading in a range. Nobody was sure what was going to happen. It was all a bit crazy to think of $100 then. As it is crazy to talk about $10,000 now.

But now, with the regulations and big institutions and funds getting in place, all the while unique transaction volume is STILL increasing at exponential growth... this is not OPINION it is FACT!

If price is a function of Metcalfe's Law which it seems to be...we are due for another explosion sometime before 2016. And I am confident betting everything on it.

This saddam knows what he is talking about. The price will rise eventually, not because people "think" something, but because of logical steps the network implies.
251  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can the number of coins surpass 21 million? on: August 07, 2014, 02:23:26 AM
Ohhhhhhh...I thought you were asking whether there would be 21 million shady ass shitcoin developers pimping useless altz...

haha, the chance that there will be more altcoins than number of bitcoins is actually pretty high longterm Wink

Got my coins the escrow saying i m a busy man .. so dont spam .. shit how i foget.. ma

haha, told you it will turn out Ok Wink

Take care man, and try to relax sometimes!

yeah the main reason i got stunned that the buyer is saying me fuck off .. and started using abusive language after i gave him details.. lol dat_felling

That is the exact reason to use escrows, sure the buyer will fuck you over if he gets the chance, with escrow he can't do that, because the escrow will decide if you earn the money.

Jails actually are more criminal factories than correction facilities because of the environment. You have abuses of power from the guards, and obviously, lower class criminals mixed with higher class criminals, so the odds are that when you get out you will be on a higher tier on criminality.

MUST READ -> http://www.amazon.com/The-Lucifer-Effect-Understanding-People/dp/0812974441/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407372753&sr=8-1&keywords=lucifer+effect

This is only like that in your country. European facilities are very well organized to help those guys and give them a chance to better them selves. This is done with much education and work. Later halfwayhouses and then with companies that offer those guys jobs so that they have no need to become criminal again. The success rate is over the roof, compared to US corrupt crap prisons...

why do you assume I'm from USA? lol

Anyway, the point I made was based on a scientific experiment which is in the book I linked.

It is semantics, what I meant was, that "Jails" is a very broad term and I would exclude European facilities from it, because the theory doesn't hold true for those.

The theory is social psychology, about power systems and how people behave under certain situations. The experiments is with "healthy" students and it went bad in a couple of days. I don't think any prison would be as soft as that. Did you read the book? Do you know the points made? or are you just talking out of your ass?

Talking out of my ass, because I generally don't read every book that someone is posting on the forums.

I think you don't understand that those experiments are modelled after very authoritarian prison systems, but you don't have such conditions in more "evolved" facilities. So please don't generalise everything...
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin STILL has the highest number of ACTIVE ADDRESSES of all the altcoins. on: August 07, 2014, 01:36:37 AM
The problem with Doge is that it has no apparent functional utility in comparison to the other alts.

So then why are people using it more than the other altcoins?

Because many(!!!) people learned about doge first. They received tips and then used that to play around. Think of doge as the Weed of cryptocurrency. A gateway drug currency :p
259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We already passed the tipping point of BTC on: August 07, 2014, 01:33:20 AM
Soon enough, we will all be bitcoin millionaires.

10-20 BTC is all you need to have at least a million $ worth.

But at that point, it would be stupid to cash out. Just spend the BTC itself, and invest it to keep yourself perpetually wealthy.

I always wonder what would happen if BTC goes to 1000 then 5000 then 10000 ect until 500000. Most people now say they would hold BTC forever, but I think everyone has a point, where he would cashout a biiiig chunk of his holdings.

Like your 10-20 BTC amount. Do you really think people could withstand the temptation of selling at 10000 USD?
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar on: August 07, 2014, 01:29:57 AM
Anyone selling Facebook accounts? I'd love some, thanks guys.

Just search for some underground forums Wink They sell in bulk, and I mean biiig amounts if you need!
