241  Other / Off-topic / Re: It's Christmas Day - what sort of idiot posts here on Christmas day? on: December 25, 2011, 04:33:39 PM
I think the answer to that is quite obvious.
242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Internet Archive (Home of the Wayback Machine) Accepting Bitcoin Donations! on: December 25, 2011, 03:53:21 PM
I do hope they know what they have and know what they are doing. Why haven't they moved any coins?
Is anyone communicating with them?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=54822.0  I hate to see good things go bad because of lack of information or education before action was taken

This is why Grandma can't have a Bitcoin client on her computer yet, there is just ways of thinking that people don't grasp, such as they have to ensure they know the value of the currency they hold can change at any minute, this needs to be pounded into peoples heads so they make the right decision to pull out of the market.

I know there are people we all want to get into Bitcoin to jump off of whatever fiat you have, but I hope people will realize the implications of trying to force people to jump in fully rather than just dip their toes in the water a little bit first
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SOPA and NMC prices on: December 25, 2011, 03:36:18 PM
Because Namecoin is VERY important! It means truly freedom on the net.

Thiago, when you have a chance can you address this post I made regarding Namecoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=50664.msg661063#msg661063

What is it about the Namecoin services that I might be missing that may outweigh what I am seeing the negatives of it.
244  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin100 ~ Soliciting Names of Nonprofit Organizations on: December 25, 2011, 03:30:07 PM
With that, I pledge 10 BTC toward this cause. Now, BP, do you want to maintain the thread for keeping track of the pledges or should I? And how much do you pledge?

One more thing: You're in full control of trying to persuade Norml to come on board--with my full support.

Does this sound reasonable to you, BP?

Not at all lol.  Only because of lack of focused time I would feel I could actually dedicate toward this, and I would honestly want to make sure the project itself keeps focused and is done right than half assed because I have other shit to do and can't get on the forum.  It sucks though, as I think there is something here that  maybe would be kind of an extension of what is going on with Bitcoin100 that would be a specific focus on Norml, because they are a kind of special case as far as their relation to Bitcoin and the underground markets that support Bitcoin on top of some of those same underground people support Norml.  I back up anyone who takes on this task, I hope there is some highly motivated pothead reading this who wants to make a change in this world Wink
245  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The Bitcoin Theme Song! on: December 25, 2011, 03:23:51 PM
A - Team theme song...

Maybe changed to the B team ? lol

That is all....

I cannot poo poo your fart of an idea, I'll be back, I think I got something.

If you have a problem - if no one else can help - and if you can find
them - maybe you can hire: The B-Team.

Edit: I give up, I had a couple of elements going but could not make it sound right, instead I have a neat A-Team ringtone at the moment lol

I was using audio parts from this mix http://soundcloud.com/papuga/papuga-a-team-remix
And the proper intro audio http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MVonyVSQoM
Then I took out the proper audio and started using this http://www.hearwho.com/proccesstext.aspx to have the word " THE B TEAM "mixed in

I will not share the unfinished product, but anyone feel free to have fun with all that, I ended up really enjoying some parts of that basic A-Team remix, so this was all worth doing just for that.
246  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Excellent article about Bitcoin's future by Genjix on BM on: December 25, 2011, 03:20:36 PM
Love the site redesign and seeing genjix writing, and such a cool ass article, going to pass the link to a few friends as a good 'starter'
247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dont miss the Christmas Special! December 25th on BitTalk.TV! on: December 25, 2011, 01:47:34 PM
Vladimir Marchenko (security)

30 second spot.  Enter an office, a close up of malicious activity on a screen, zoom back out to the geek up to no good, typing away, laughing maniacally.   Then Vlad, played by himself, with Sunglasses and no smile, no anger either, just walks in confident, smashes the kids hand as he is about to click a mouse, and walks out.   Big white text on black, "VLAD SECURITY, REAL REAL SOLID"

Dress the geek up with a name tag featuring whoever you wish to have as the target for the parody ad, I am guessing Atlas would be your choice.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you want in a new Bitcoin Exchange? on: December 25, 2011, 01:43:21 PM
Built in Bitcoin laundry mixing services every money is put in or taken out.    The exchange that implements this and promotes it will set a new standard.
249  Other / Off-topic / Re: mizerydearia's obnoxious health escapade on: December 24, 2011, 11:38:26 PM
My next efforts are to contact doctors (after holidays).  For now I wait at least until Monday.

Oh, perhaps this community can help me in my effort to contact doctors.  I have no idea what to say or ask or whether I should make a statement, ask a question or both.  What perspective should I pursue in my contacting each of the doctors?

I think this is the best bet.  Health care is available, look hard, check local colleges and as many walk ins as possible to see any options.   If you have to, go to the emergency room, tell them you fainted then describe the rest of your real symptoms.
250  Other / Off-topic / Re: mizerydearia's obnoxious health escapade on: December 24, 2011, 07:00:36 PM
I wish you the best in your health, but I worry you are not making it to proper help/aid, is that also motivation behind such public display of your self findings?
251  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I am no longer affiliated with witcoin name/brand/site on: December 24, 2011, 02:07:31 PM
This is one of the hardest threads I have tried to read, yet most fun.  So when is witcoin coming back?  Because I am pretty sure once I made a post there, everyone else stopped using it, I assure you I won't try to use the site again Wink   thought I liked it in theory

I am thinking the competition brewing https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=53573.0 might actually allow witcoin to come back and stronger if someone is behind it implementing any useful features the competition might have
252  Economy / Goods / Re: No prescription, no hassles- bitcoins for meds. Keep it simple. on: December 24, 2011, 01:45:44 PM
flaxceed does not seem to be "advertising" his wares any differently then how any of these other medicines are marketed.   Except, he is keeping it in one thread, he is not buying ad spots to the general stupid public that has no need for these medicines, there is no 3 seconds of jibberish of side effects here because we are all online looking at this thread through a web browser that gives the ability to fully research things yourself.   Still, he is here in this thread replying away to any concern as they come, despite the only thing that seems to be hated on, is the fact that he doesn't fear the results of other peoples ignorance as much everyone else.

Thank you flaxceed for allowing people to make their own decisions, whether they are informed or non-informed decisions, that is definitely up to the person, not you, good services, I hope competition springs up just so haters won't focus on you, but rather the fucked up laws and regulations in the US and elsewhere, where services like yours become necessary.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Innovation in the alt chains on: December 24, 2011, 01:32:05 PM
STOP THE THREAD EVERYONE, a big piece of no information has slipped out, contact the bloggerverse so they can put out a press release regarding the announcement of an announcement

I don't know much about it, but there is definitely one radically new blockchain under development.

254  Other / Off-topic / Re: Merry Christmas on: December 24, 2011, 01:28:48 PM
Thanks for all the info I have found here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well said, I agree, thanks everyone who continues on trucking with your thoughts and ideas, may you have a happy holiday.

If there was any possibility at all that the above post would have been a sticky, then no abuse of power.  Something tells me you can't just insert any name in that post and expect it to have went down the same.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AnonymOS -- namecoin, bitcoin, TOR and I2P on: December 24, 2011, 01:09:05 PM
I'm the author of AnonymOS  http://anonymos.earthsociety.org. A Gnu-Linux operating system with TOR, I2P, and Bitcoin client pre-installed. It also has many tweaks for enhanced security and privacy -- I daresay it's the most secure OS (of it's kind) on the planet.

But it needs to be better.  I'm soon to release the next version with installer, currently it's only a live-cd or you have to buy a USB drive from me to use it installed.

The beauty of this all rolled into one OS is that it makes it very easy for someone who has little knowledge to take advantage of anonymizing services -- and bitcoin too. Critically -- I2P is a router by default (unlike TOR), with many built in apps and services. The more people that use AnonymOS, the stronger the I2P network becomes -- in fact it can grow in power much more quickly than TOR has and will soon overtake TOR.

I'm seeking advice and knowledge on how to implement namecoin in either this edition, or in a later server edition that includes in-built web server and software for creating TOR-hidden-service blogs.

I really like what you are doing.  The above is one of the reasons I find it hard to support Namecoin, I don't like the fact that there is value attached to Namecoin that has nothing to do with it's services.  In theory itself I cannot find the benefits to Namecoin being a commodity on top of it being something of use.  Either be a "money" or be a "service", but when you try to be both, it will be automatically rejected every time.

The value of the services Namecoin offers exceeds the value of it as a coin.
The value of the name coin "Coin" exceeds the value of it's services it renders.

It seems only one of these statements can be true.  I know I am simplifying things, but I am trying to understand them as I blurt all this out, what is it about the Namecoin technology that cannot be replicated and put out as some kind of open source program that people could just run to keep things going?  Would somehow the "miners" rule the Namecoin-bit-web because they control the hashing power?  In fact, would the 51% attacks that threaten coins be something that could threaten Namecoin, and if that is the case, and just being theoretical here, if that were to happen, what would happen to the domains and sites?
257  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Create a game that accepts Bitcoin for currency on: December 24, 2011, 12:51:26 PM
Kudos to the Crypto X Change for hitting up the Starcraft tourney and having those requirements to enter, very well done marketing, and good for the players of Starcraft, it's a huge audience that isn't exactly ignored, but not marketed to enough imo.

Is there genuinely any real interest in this or is it just empty B.S. ?

I am willing to assist on the side with graphics, possible writing, and other notes, but I am not a person who codes, and the creative freedoms in video games really are limited by the person who would be writing the game.  I was looking at the villages and galaxies pages, were there current screenshots of Galaxies, also the Villages screen page is down.
258  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why do people sell at 15 when the price could rebound to 30? on: December 24, 2011, 11:42:26 AM
I can't tell if this is going to confuse people in a good way or a bad when when they see this thread and think it is current.
259  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin Rap - buy high, sell low on: December 24, 2011, 11:39:42 AM
I have not seen that video in forever, still so good, completely forgot about it.
260  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin-accepting organizations' acceptance/usage of GoDaddy which supports SOPA on: December 24, 2011, 11:38:26 AM
i just read a few different pages about how to transfer a domain from godaddy to namecheap...

BUT...

does anyone know how to transfer them in bulk? it seems you need to get an auth code emailed to you for every single domain :/

I am in this boat.  Got this page so far.  http://blog.jeffepstein.me/post/14629857835/a-step-by-step-guide-to-transfer-domains-out-of-godaddy

I personally haven't settled on Namecheap, I am currently reading people debate how Namecheap handles their password hashes http://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/nnynm/imgurcom_is_with_godaddy_alan_schaaf_the_founder/c3alved
