241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: June 12, 2014, 07:17:03 AM
I still can't seem to be able to mine BTC with this pool.

Until 2-3 days ago, everything was working fine on the EU high diff server,
now no matter what I do it keeps on mining only like 10% of the amount of BTC I was used to.

At the moment I switched to mining MYRH directly, works ok.

I hope BTC mining will work again soon, I will do a check later this week.

What's with the EU bitcoin direct mining ports anyway?

Is it the summer heat?

We had a couple days of bad profits while we worked our way into Bitminter's 40-hour PPLNS.

That said, today we had stellar BTC profits due to good luck at Bitminter.  We will continue to have slightly higher variance on a daily basis than we did with ghash, but overall profits should be higher and on a 'BTC difficulty period' basis, the variance should be hardly noticeable.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: June 12, 2014, 07:15:07 AM
Just curious. What was the problem with the BTC pass though to ghash.io that eventually resulted in the change to bitminter?

There were/are several issues.

- ghash.io has regular outages that result in no shares being submitted.  Also, at other times when they're not having any obvious outages, we would experience periods of low share submission.
- I suspect their 'US pool' is merely a proxy that redirects to the UK pool, which means high latency and higher stales for everyone in the US.  Our stales were over 3% at times.
- There were reported issues getting full credit for some blocks in their support thread which went unanswered.
- For almost two week before the change, our rewards were approximately 25-30% lower than they should have been based on the pool hashrate.  This cannot be explained away statistically as bad luck.
- ghash.io is now a competing service, who has launched a profit-switching scrypt pool.
- ghash is again approaching a worrying amount of total BTC hashrate.
- The few exchanges I had with their support team left me with a negative impression of them.
- I have major overall concerns about the health of the company in the medium to long term.  Their fees on purchased hash are not sustainable and may approach 100% if the BTC difficulty increases another 30-40%.

244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps 2.0 UPDATE REQUIRED - HARDFORK JULY 4 2014 to 200% Annual PoS on: June 10, 2014, 08:52:27 PM
by the way - I grabbed the wallet from the OP and I assume that v1.5.2.0 is the most recent wallet vsn?

v1.5.2.0 is the old one!
The latest, hard fork ready version is 2.0, it's here - https://github.com/Tranz5/bottlecaps/releases/tag/2.0

guess someone should update OP -

thank you!

Its probably going to be best if we have Tranz start a new ANN thread when he gets back from vacation. I don't see any reason why we need a few layers of bureaucracy between Tranz and posting the correct information.

I've already updated OP but I did not see that there are new compiled versions of the wallet yet.  If someone can give me links to these I'll update the OP.
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [350TH][Auto Profit-switching ASIC Pool] Multipool.us 5-10%+ Profit vs. BTC on: June 07, 2014, 06:31:42 PM
Im trying to mine script on mutipool using a 35mhs asic.

Problem im getting though is its only showing my hashrate as around 6000khs when really it should be 30,000-32,000 khs.

I know my miners ok because ive used it on script guild and it shows the correct expected hashrate,.

Can anyone explain why multipool does this?  ive tried different settings etc to no avail.   Angry

The hashrate is a 10 minute average, if we're switching coins a lot it might not have time to display fully on a single Coin.  If you are seeing accepted shares things are working fine, but you want to verify you can leave it on a single Coin port for 15-20 minutes and it should come to full.
246  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: *** GHash.IO mining pool official page *** on: June 06, 2014, 05:58:11 PM
Had to jump this pool finally. Constant disconnects as very low hash rates. When back to the Guild where things are much more stready and i don't don't get dropped on a daily basis. The Ghash has serious  issues.

Same here just too many disconnects, then it takes forever to get back up to speed.

What the hell is wrong with their US servers? I have a little tiny miner I use for connectivity tests and that Ghash US server is horrible. I don't even think it is a real server anyway, I just think it routes to the UK server somehow because when I'm hashing on the "US" server and I go to check my connections on my computer all I see is the "UK" server. So they have issues/routing or just trying to hide something maybe. But anyway, I haven't been able to sustain a connection with their  US server for 12 straight hours. Always disconnects and you never know when it will reconnect. Some times it won't at all. When you try to explain this to them and all you get back is "please reboot your miner and reconnect". Apparently they don't want to troubleshoot or care about these little issues affecting probably hundreds of people...some probably don't even know. Which begs to know, why are there so many people on this pool if it is so shitty? Pretend I'm 5 years old and try to explain it. It is nice when they are working, ripping through blocks really quick but when there are issues it really defeats the purpose to stay on board, right?

As far as I can tell US1 is not a real stratum, it's just a proxy.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps - 200% Annual PoS coming soon! New lead developer Tranz on: June 05, 2014, 04:17:41 AM
Thanks for all the hard work Tranz.  You are comfortable calling this 2.0 fully tested?  Or should we say it's a public beta?

I have tested it in every way I can think of.  The biggest test will be on the fork date. Up till then, this release is a good as any of them.  If there are any major issues with the network after that date, we'll get them solved.

But I am pretty happy with this. So have at it! :-)

OK.  I'm not really a C++ guy to the point where I could actually check your work, so if everyone's satisfied that this release is good to go I'll merge it.

Thanks for your response. My issue is definitely on my end. I am not sure how to even set up the stratum to mine on Multipool.us I would love to put my sha as most of my scrypt hash is already on your sister site IPominer.

So if you can walk me through setting up the stratum program itself that would be fantastic.

Steve

Send me an email with some info about your setup and I'll try to help you out as best I can.
251  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NEED HELP WITH MULTIPOOL.ORG on: June 04, 2014, 12:59:33 AM
Alright so I've followed all the instructions for setting up addresses so I can use cryptsy as an exchange for my coins.
Each coin has an address.
However there is no place to save the threshold, nor as I'm following the directions in the "getting started" section is it working in any way.

It says there should be a "set addresses" line, but alas no line to do so. What am I supposed to do? I tried signing up on the forum and kept getting errors and now I can't register.

Whoever owns multipool.org I've sent an email to, and I hope to hear back because this is really confusing and frankly not making me want to use this service. How do I SET THE ADDRESSES?

-Enter addresses
-set threshold
Huh enter pin Huh?
where is enter pin, where is set addresses? a little help please?

Do you mean multipool.us?
252  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [460 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: June 03, 2014, 10:52:56 PM
Anybody besides me actually merge-mining FSC on their node?  I've found 102 blocks in the past 24 hours... lol.  Pretty sure that coin is dead in the water.

Despite that difficulty seems to be dropping.

M

Yeah... if the block explorer is to be believed, I am currently about 20% of the entire hashing rate of the network.  135 blocks so far now... it sure is nice to see at least one of my coin wallets with a significant balance, even if it doesn't mean anything Smiley

Would love to put my 350-400TH back on p2pool if the scalability issues and the problem connecting with stratum proxy can be resolved.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [250TH][Auto Profit-switching ASIC Pool] Multipool.us 10%+ Profit vs. BTC alone on: June 03, 2014, 10:52:05 PM
Sorry flound, I am trying to proxy block erupter cubes. I will have to remote in as I am out of town. Any advice would be helpfull.

Steve

I've heard of people having issues with stratum proxy back when we were on p2pool, but nothing recently.  Let me know what issue you are having and I can try to help you figure it out.

All, our sincere apologies for the past few hours of server issues at GHash.IO.
We hate downtime as much as you guys do, our team have been working hard to resolve and get the servers stable and correctly operational.

We are currently going back over server logs regarding blocks that have gone through but show no reward paid out and will advise all on that.
As usual users of cloud GHS will be recompensed.

Anyone with specific payout or connection issues please contact support directly via the website or support@cex.io
Thanks again for you patience.

Thanks, just got my Ants back and running on UK server, I've been overclocking their butts so they enjoyed the rest, more than me Smiley Have some blocks gone through also with no payout.

There is no reason for downtime with your Antminers. Just set up a backup pool and if/when GHash goes down it will switch right over to the other pool.

Unfortunately in this case cex was not 'down', they were still accepting shares.
256  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: *** GHash.IO mining pool official page *** on: June 01, 2014, 09:40:55 PM
We (Multipool.us) have around 300TH on your Bitcoin pool.

Our rewards have been short by more than 10% for the past 3 payouts..  Wondering what's going on.  Seems like maybe all of our shares are not being recorded properly.  Would like to get on a private stratum if possible.  Plz contact me.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps - 200% Annual PoS coming soon! New lead developer Tranz on: June 01, 2014, 06:01:50 AM
any ACTUAL pool ?!

Multipool.us CAP pool is working fine.

Features:
  • Over 1 year in operation
  • Proportional reward system
  • Redundant EU and US Servers
  • User-selectable share difficulty from 16 to 2048 on scrypt/scrypt-n/x11 and 1 to 2048 on SHA-256 coins.

You can't withdrawl your CAPs from Multipool for the last few weeks so not the best mining option...

Withdrawals were re-enabled today.

Hey guys,

I have the same blockchain that is passed block 426490, but I think whatever coins generated after block 426490 are not accepted by exchanges like cryptsy. They are probably "stuck" on blockchain with block "426490".

The "working" blockchain I could find is here: https://altexplorer.net/chain/Argentum and it is also on a latest block of 426490.

Now, I wounder if blockchain passed 426490 is legit.

Cryptsy probably hasn't patched their wallet yet, so they can't get the new blocks.  Once they patch they should sync to the current longest chain and the new transactions should come in.
