241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASUS MINING-RX470-4G on: October 08, 2017, 07:14:19 AM
I would love to know what the hash rate is of this card against epoch 144 for example.
I just get 23 mh/s on my powercolor RX 470 with 4gb of ram using a mem speed of 2100 and core clock of 1126.

I expect this card mines the same?
I want to make sure i dont buy something and i am not happy with it because it mines much slower.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What can I mine with this CPU ? on: October 08, 2017, 06:48:42 AM
I just recently upgraded my PC and I have an intel i3 6100 without dedicated card (this coming soon as project cars crashes sometimes with Intel HD530 which is integrated) but until I get the dedicated card RX 460 or RX 470 or maybe a GTX 1060 I want to ask you guys is this CPU good enough to mine Ethereum or whatever coin it's profitable to mine with this.

 XMR or ZEC are still CPU mineable.
 Forget ETH/ETC on a CPU, they've been taken over bigtime by GPUs.

 Intel integrated graphics continues to be a pretty sad joke - AMD's 3-gen old A10s (like my A10-5700s) are STILL better overall performance than anything Intel has released to date, and the most recent Skylake stuff on the GPU side seems to be LOWER performance overall than the previous generation Haswell managed (though the CPU side got a good bit better at the top end).

Hi, i would like to know how because i get silly messages about not able to support AES if i use XMR-STAK-CPU by fierce uk
Please can you assist me as i would like to put my i3 laptop to use, its all i have to mine with at the moment.
Even if i leave it to run for 6 months
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire RX470 Nitro 8GB Need original BIOS please! on: September 17, 2017, 06:26:46 PM
I also have this card but with Samsung memory , not sure how the hell to flash it with that switch, i dont understand the purpose of that switch.
Also , do you always copy the 1500 straps upwards or what is the general rule?

Appreciate some education here

Well im sorry to say,

I have mined against this pool for an entire half a day and i have no unconfirmed or confirmed balanced ; No reply from e-mail either:

My miner clearly shows i have accepted shares.

Im unsure if i am doing anything wrong?

245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: August 27, 2017, 09:46:29 PM
I am worried i dont really understand how this stuff works?

I have been using MPM for ages now but i dont know how to update the updates?
I have tried overwriting files from the clone/zip/source  file  i download.
I then get red writing and all sorts of nonsense.

I see a new one now, which is there is another Start2gb.bat  , what is this used for ?

I have run it and spent 1.5 hours on benchmarks, its a real pain.

Now i dont see anything in my balances in Miningpoolhub.com

Please help me here and explain, i just meed to know i am using my pc and power for a valid reason, i cant really experiment as i only have 1 machine.

p.s. if i run the vanilla start.bat as i have been in previous version then i get such crap MH/s on EthDcrMiner64   i dont know what the hell to do , i want to cry .

I dont have loads of money to just go buy 10 million graphics cards as some people.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: DashMiner.com - BTC & DASH multipool for AMD GPUs. Fast kernel and custom software. Extra profit on: August 27, 2017, 09:54:35 AM
Yes strangely now it shows me 0.006 DASH/Day, i dont understand the  variance.
I am just wanting to make something as good as Ethereum, surely there are coins that do this.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: DashMiner.com - BTC & DASH multipool for AMD GPUs. Fast kernel and custom software. Extra profit on: August 26, 2017, 12:44:03 PM
Hello again,
When the miner is busy it shows me:

(5s):174.0% (avg):170.2% | A:144  R:2  HW:0 | DASH:0.036/day

Is this normal? working?

If i work it out , it says i will get -   0.000891 USD,    so this is not even 1 cent? is this right?
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: DashMiner.com - BTC & DASH multipool for AMD GPUs. Fast kernel and custom software. Extra profit on: August 26, 2017, 12:28:28 PM
What I really do not understand here is that when I tried this, the miner shows a profit of 0.112dash/day, but after 24hours of mining, it only gives me 0.017 dash. it clearly shows that the miners calculation is not correct.
0.112dash for my 3 rx 480 and 0.141dash for my 4 r9s, thats what it shows and it gives me of 0.00530173 on my rx480, and 0.01170434 on my r9s.

Hello!

0.0035 per 100% (as per http://dashminer.com/stats/)

3 rx480 is about 350%
4 r9 390 is about 400%
0.0035 * (300 + 450) / 100 = 0.02625 DASH. That's roughly the amount the you should receive each day.

Your stats (http://sf.dashminer.com/?user=XcEtD3mn4vmzgWbtk9PAahreB9rCZBhJWk) shows that you stopped mining 2 days ago, so not sure if my reply is even relevant...

Thanks!

Hello Dashminer, i just want to underdtand what this means, i dont really understand:
""""
Our base payout is set to be 0.0035 DASH per day plus bonus (bonus depends on luck and coin prices) for AMD R9 290 (our reference card with its speed taken as 100% value). Same hardware achieves 4.84MHs in popular X11-mod miner, so we are using this value for per mhs payout pricing.
"""
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: DashMiner.com - BTC & DASH multipool for AMD GPUs. Fast kernel and custom software. Extra profit on: August 26, 2017, 09:50:52 AM
Hello, good morning, i have decided to try DashMiner again.
I am just not sure how you track mining progress.
The SGMiner from the DashMiner site is the one i am running now.
It shows it the top right corner DASH : 0.017 / Day
I have 1 RX470.

I have used my default bitcoin address as a username and then an e-mail address as a password.

Many thanks,

251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best graphic card to mine in 2017 2nd half on: August 19, 2017, 07:38:46 PM
Got some R9 290 mining ETH at 29.7mh/s each with no electricity costs. Still profitable at all but only with no electricity costs. You can get those if you're lucky for 170$-190$.

Greetz

of course it is nice with no electricity cost
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is ethereum mining dead? on: August 19, 2017, 07:36:35 PM
ethereum mining difficulty is increasing nowadays
every single month will be 20-40% decrease in profit and this will lower our roi and will make it impossible to get price of our equipment back
bitcoin is the same of it and will never get lower in diffculty,is there any altcoin that can be mined with lower diffculty and getting higher earnning if so which one will be?

Its free money so what do you expect.

No there are no other coins which are more profitable than ETH or ZEC.

It is most definitely not free money. You need to invest tons of money in GPUs and electricity. Plus there are plenty of coins more profitable such as LTC.

lol i agree its not free money because u pay for the stuff unless you have been given a boost in life or stuff from family for free.
i wish there are more options after ethereum.
i am a small fish with 2 cards only, and i am thankful to even make 130 dollars a month at the moment.
its not amazing as it was say 2 months ago when it was almost 250 odd a month.
i do remember early this year though it was also very very slow, but dont remember figures.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help about Mod bios at power color Rx 470 red devil on: August 19, 2017, 04:05:37 PM
anyone have mod bios for mining ethereum Rx 470 Red devil ? my stats only 24mhs for ethereum and 500hs for XMR..
please i need guide or maybe can you share your room Sad

There are plenty of guides already around, and it's quite easy to do.

To mod you need
Windows OS
Polaros bios editor 1.4.1
Atiwinflash

1° extract your BIOS with atiwinflash
2° make a backup of it.
3° copy the 1500 Mhz mem strap up to the 1625 1750 2000 MHz straps
4° save that new bios
5° flash your card with the modified bios
6° Reboot your rig

Check on youtube "rx470 mod bios" or something like that. You will have tons of videos showing you everything in detail.
It work exactly the same way no matter the model or the brand, just use your own bios.

If you are too lazy to try, you can still check on the mining section of forum.ethereum.org, but finding the proper bios might take longer time than flashing it yourself.

Hi,

I am not a rich guy and dont want to break my card, its the only one i have.
I have a spare old pci-e nvidia 7300 GS i can use to fix my rx470 i guess?
I have 2 pci-e slots.
Anyways, do i have to use atiwinflash to save the bios or can i use gpu-z?
Some guys talk about the size of the file and blah blah blah , im just worried now.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX Vega Rumored to Hash 70+ Mh/s on: August 03, 2017, 06:57:15 PM

really ridiculous article anyways:
nothing is clear or confirmed.
"....70 MH/s...."
"Vega Frontier mining performance (which has a hash rate of ~30 MH/s)."

which is it.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any CPU mineable coin that it is profitable? on: July 27, 2017, 11:47:27 AM
monero is once again profitable, just mine that, a 470 can do 850hash with proper miner, it's the best choice for now

Hi, please can you direct me or guide me here please?
I would love to try Monero , or if this has changed, whats your next suggestion please?

Thank you

Hi, i am trying to see what SOLO mining is all about so i have setup PASCAL LITE.

I have started the batch file and it shows me mining, but i want to know if it really is?
like i might wait forever and it is not even correct what i have done.

Please can somebody tell me if it is correct what i have done?
Also why the dos screen show me pasclite pasctlite 2 times, it says "pasclitepasclite" for each device its mining on.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Generic coin solo mining? on: July 24, 2017, 07:21:31 AM

Heya,

First, apologies for posting this here when it only partially relates to BTC mining, but this is the most appropriate forum for generalised mining discussions not about a specific coin I think.

I mine both SHA256 and scrypt coins. I've developed a bunch of scripts which automatically choose the most profitable coin to mine at any one moment compared to BTC and then sell them back into BTC. I do the same with SHA256 alt coins too.

However, the returns I'm getting are not as good as I'd expect, especially for some of the "very alternative" scrypt coins. For many of those I can actually be a significant proportion of their total network hashrate (eg. BitBar, whose hashrate is only 45MH/s according to this.

At present I use cgminer or bfgminer with mining pools. This makes the automation convenient since I just have to redirect the miners to new URLs when swapping. However, given the poor returns on some alt coins (which I suspect is down to dodgyness of the pools), and given my fairly large hashrates, I would like to try solo mining.

The problem is that I don't want to be running every poxy little alt coin's mining programme, especially since my rigs are all headless Linux boxes. Is there a way to get cgminer/bfgminer to solo mine any coin of your choosing, or another stand-alone piece of software which can be configured to mine multiple coins, or are the alts always hard-coded such that you need a pool?

Kate.

PS. One option I was considering was creating my own personal pools though I'm not sure how much effort that is. There seems to be a standard codebase out there now though...

hi i would like to try and take a chance and mine solo on bitcoin or which ever ...
i have tried with sgminer and i put -k sha256    BUT i am not sure if cgminer is more correct to use?
i have also seen on some pools like say when i mine x11 there is also an x11-mod for exmaple insgminer, they both seem to mine, but i dont know which is the really correct one to use? u know what i mean..... else i might mine till the coes come home for noting and its the wrong algorithm.

same for solo mining, so i would like to get it right before i just mine and its all wrong...

maybe you can suggest a coin i can try , please?
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sgminer v5 - optimized X11/X13/NeoScrypt/Lyra2RE/etc. kernel-switch miner on: July 20, 2017, 09:50:00 PM
Sgminer starts and returns to the command prompt without error, any suggestions ?

yes i found out the hard way u need to use -T and then --verbose in your command
BUt even then it is a ridiculous miner and so is cgminer, they never really explain clearly what the error is, its really a pain to use.
they are such old miners you would have though the developers would build in more user friendly messages or even a nicer gui, not this thing which clears the screen and doesnt show u the bloody error, i mean really.
Like how do u know if u are using the correct algorithm for the server u are connecting to , there have to ways they can built that in to the miner.
I have tested for example mining bitsend against 1 server which accept both xevan and xevan-mod as a algorithm but only the xevan algorithm actually gets me shares.
the other xevan-mod mines fine but no shares or rejects are found, i mean this is crazy.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sgminer v5 - optimized X11/X13/NeoScrypt/Lyra2RE/etc. kernel-switch miner on: July 20, 2017, 09:43:15 PM
Hi,

At NiceHash.com (I'm sure you've already heard about us) we're running a multi-algo cloud mining service and multipool. Thus we're striving to get unified and feature-full GPU miner. That's why we've sponsored the integration of sph-miner + keccak (from cgminer) + x11_mod (from lasybear) + NIST5 algo and some more stuff into unified, runtime-kernel-switching new version of the original official sgminer. sgminer has since then been redefined from "scrypt-miner" to "GPU OpenCL miner" and thus strive to support wide range of algorithms for GPU mining. New algorithms are added over time as well as some new features.

For the record: I'm not a developer of sgminer and haven't contributed any coding for sgminer, but was active in proposing and coordinating new features development. All the credits go to the many sgminer developers, listed here: https://github.com/nicehash/sgminer/graphs/contributors. NiceHash organization took over the initiative to continue development on this widely spread open-source mining software, therefore the most recent source code and releases can be found in the information below.

SOURCE CODE

If you wan't to pull the source code from GIT you can do it with this command:

Code:
git clone --recursive https://github.com/nicehash/sgminer.git

News: https://github.com/nicehash/sgminer/commits/master

Please note: sgminer is still in development, you should regularly, so there are might be still some open issues and minor bugs present.

Here is an example of multi-algorithm configuration (you can add many pool-specific options):

Code:
{
"pools" : [
        {
                "name" : "NiceHash_X11",
                "url" : "stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3336",
                "user" : "btc_addr",
                "pass" : "x",
                "nfactor" : "10",
                "algorithm" : "darkcoin-mod"
        },
        {
                "name" : "NiceHash_X13",
                "url" : "stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3337",

                "name" : "NiceHash_SHA3",
                "url" : "stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3338",
                "user" : "btc_addr",
                "pass" : "x",
                "nfactor" : "10",
                "algorithm" : "maxcoin"
        },
        {
                "name" : "NiceHash_Scrypt-N",
                "url" : "stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3335",
                "user" : "btc_addr",
                "pass" : "x",
                "nfactor" : "11",
                "algorithm" : "zuikkis"
        },
        {
                "name" : "NiceHash_Scrypt",
                "url" : "stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3333",
                "user" : "btc_addr",
                "pass" : "x",
                "nfactor" : "10",
                "algorithm" : "zuikkis"
        }
]
"failover-only" : true,
"failover-switch-delay" : "300",
"queue" : "0",
... other configuration settings ...

Of course you can choose any and as many pools you prefer, NiceHash.com pools were given just as an example. Your miner will be able to switch to different pools using different algorithms at runtime, without any interruption and without sgminer restart. You can also set GPU settings and some other settings at a per-pool level to get optimum performance on various pools with various algorithms with a single configuration file. Now you can mine Litecoin, Dogecoin, Vertcoin, Darkcoin, Maxcoin, MaruCoin ... you-name-it with a single unified sgminer.

Note: sgminer v5 intoduced new stratum extranonce subscription; some pools ignores connection when sgminer sends extranonce subscription request, therefore you just have to add "no-extranonce" : true setting to the pool config for pools, that doesn't support extranonce-subscribe - this kind of pools appears Dead even if they are suposed to be working fine (you should never use this setting on nicehash pools since nicehash stratum proxy provides better efficiency with extranonce subscription)

Code:
	{
                "url" : "stratum+tcp://some-pool:3333",
                "no-extranonce" : true,
                "user" : "username",
                "pass" : "x",
}

Or if you're using command line options, example for quark mining:

Code:
sgminer --algorithm quarkcoin --no-extranonce -I 18 -g 1 -w 256 -o stratum+tcp://some-quark-pool:3333 -u ... -p ...

All interested developers, please, feel free to contribute to the code by simply pushing Pull request to the Github repository (see above).

Again, thanks to all the great developers of sgminer and kind regards,
kenshirothefist

Man those bloody servers dont work, ridiculous.
Only the 3336 one does which is bitcoin, but non of these guides explain what to use, if it is sgminer and cgminer and what algorithm.... i have tried -k sha256 and -k sha256d  but i get hundreds to thousands of Rejections ....as it mines.

For all i know i that i can leave it to mine till the cows come home but i could using h incorrect command

Hi , i would like to know if this pool supports all the BIP or SEGWIT things?

I dont quite understand how to ask the question but i am just concerned as a miner if i am safely mining and accounted for ?

I currently run the Bitcoin Core 0.14.2 wallet which is fully synched to the network.
