2401  Other / Meta / Re: Curious Question about Meriting on: July 04, 2022, 05:14:56 PM
Now my question is, have you learned so much from a post, a reply, or were you well so impressed with the user that you weren't just satisfied with meriting the post. That you actually went ahead to click to their profile, copied their bitcoin address, and then sent them some bitcoins? Or would you ever do this?
No i have never done that and i would not do that, for me it has to stop at meriting the post, if you are so impressed by the post then you can send as much merits as you have on the post, prolly exhaust what you have, and if you do not have sufficient merits you can report the post to threads where unmerited and under-merited posts are being reported for consideration, if all of that isn't enough, you can bookmark the post and give merits to it when you have some smerits. But sending Bitcoins is not something i'd do. Mind you also that it's not all users that have their Bitcoin address in their profile.

Yes, in the end, Jesus officially became an Arsenal player next season, a deal that went tough and deserves appreciation for Arsenal success in getting Gabriel Jesus. he is a very potential striker and he will earn his place in the arsenal. Arsenal have now got two important players to strengthen their squad this summer they are Pablo Viera and Gabriel Jesus. i see arteta is still active in this tranfers window. Even Arsenal are interested in getting Raphinha autograph.
I'm sure Gabriel Jesus will turn out to be a very important player for Arsenal in whatever their ambition is for next season, i commend Gabriel for taking this bold step, i actually have a problem with players who are happy with little or no playing time, my philosophy remains that if you aren't getting the playing time you deserve, and you stick around and fight for a starting place in the team and it just isn't working, i prolly think it should be time the player left. Gabriel was obviously comfortable in City, winning multiple trophies and playing occasionally, but he wasn't still satisfied, he was also aware that the arrival of Erling would further reduce his playing time, thus he had to leave, he will play very regularly at the Emirates Stadium, and that is what he needs for the overall development of his career.

Good work mate for putting this together yet again, i must say i am glad that our quality activity is still upheld and hasn't dropped because we are yet to have a local board, and discussions in a local thread can turn messy at times, thus i commend every user who is doing their own bit to contribute constructively to the Nigerian local thread, more of the same please, and to @igehhh thank you for this monthly overview, it makes it easier for the admins to track our activeness and other whatnots.

@Hyphen(-) and @Yawa2020, what exactly are you guys talking about please, has any supporter of LP (Peter Obi) told you that they are unaware of the fact that elections aren't won online, what is it with this catch phrase, Nigerians never cease to amaze me i must say, i'd reiterate again, social media is a pretty powerful tool to create awareness about issues, especially political issues. So why has it suddenly become a problem to you guys that Peter Obi is receiving all of the attention on social media. Tinubu and Atiku are also campaigning via the social media, just that it isn't garnering as much attention as that of Peter Obi's, and i ask again, would you be so keen to roll out this "funny advice" if it was the other way round.

Not just on social media, his supporters are also trooping out in mass to register for their PVC so as to vote on the election day, what really are you guys getting at, or have you run out of complaints that you just focus on one which has no base whatsoever. If you are in support of the movement, then do your own bit, get your PVC and tell people around you about Peter Obi, if you are not, then tell us whom between Tinubu and Atiku you are supporting, "no dey disguise abeg". You can't continually downplay the efforts people are making with this recurrent advice.
2405  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: July 04, 2022, 05:20:59 AM
This is exactly what I've been telling the so called OBIdient supporters on social media that election are not won online.
Why is this becoming a recurrent phrase, of course everyone knows that elections are not won online, but social media (online) is also a great/powerful tool to create awareness and to sensitize people about issues like this, and i see no wrong that Labour Party supporters are making good use of it, if it was the other way round i guess some people will be fine by it.
80% of voters are without mobile phones and I'm sure most of them don't even know Peter Obi. LP supporters you guys need to do more. Una just dey create unnecessary online pools  Grin
How can you claim that a whopping 80% of Nigerian voters don't have mobile phones, that is as incorrect as saying 2+2 is 22, except of course if you can back that up with statistical proof of some sort. Labour Party supporters including myself are doing a great job, both online and offline, i live in a rural community at the momemt, and they all know Peter Obi here, thus i don't know if you are saying all of these on assumption or because that is what you want to happen.

Sincerely, I don't see the direction Manchester united is heading. They have been very slow in their transfer dealings, Christiano Ronaldo is not seeing any sign of improvement, I wouldn't blame him if he decides to leave, he chose Manchester United above Manchester City, that should show his loyalty to Manchester United. Ronaldo came back to United to help the team and to win trophies but after a poor season and a change of manager, the club has not made any move to sign new players. It's in his own interest that he moves to another club.
I second that as well. Manchester United are not convincing at all, they were not convincing at all last season, and they are not in this transfer window, if i were to be a player of Manchester United with a huge ambition i'd also be considering leaving the team so as not to waste another season of my career. The club/fans seem to be putting too much importance on their new manager rather than making good signings and build their team around quality players. Having said that, Ronaldo is in a somewhat difficult situation, i really do not know which team will sign him, especially because of his wages and age, let us keep our fingers crossed and see how it all pans out.
2407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 03, 2022, 06:33:52 PM
Seems to me a fairly easy choice to choose United, much more potential in that team. They just won't play CL next season.
To be honest, i personally do not see any potential in Manchester United, yeah i know that they have a new manager and there is so much hype surrounding him (Erik) at the moment, but who is sure he is going to turn out successful, remember that managers like Mourinho have come and gone, yet no visible improvement. United obviously can't win the league next season, or anytime soon for that matter, they are also not in the CL, and who is sure when next they will play in the CL, so where's the potential.

Barcelona on the other hand had a very good season, they started very poorly, but Xavi was able to restore the confidence and desire to win back in the players which made them finish high on the table, now they have a high morale coming into next season, and i am pretty sure they will compete with Real Madrid for the Laliga title, they are also in the CL, there is obviously more potential in their team than in United's.
2408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 03, 2022, 05:29:47 PM
I heard some of fans doesn't too excited for the arrival of Lukaku this because they doubt he can reach to his top performance again after failed in Chelsea so he isn't special anymore for them and now Inter under Inzaghi which is have different scheme and strategies with Conte so this still questionable whether he can score a lot of goals again or Inter has just wasted their money by loan him...
Remember that Inter have only spent around £10m in this deal to bring Lukaku back, so to be honest with you they have spent little or nothing to be too worried about a negative outcome. But the chances that Lukaku will perform poorly is pretty low. Even if he does not produce the sort of performances of two season ago when they won the league, i am certain he will still be a very important player for Inter in this new season. Lukaku loves Inter Milan, there is no doubt about that, he also seems to be very comfortable and happy playing in the Seria A, all of that contributes to why he performed so well for Inter, but not in Chelsea, Lukaku seemed unhappy from the get-go in Stamford Bridge, now he is back to his "comfort zone", i believe he will shine.
2409  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Then what will happen to your account? on: July 03, 2022, 05:04:53 PM
any children that like this forum and want to learn more about life in relation to bitcoin can just register an account.
I second that, i can't imagine having to pass down a bitcointalk account to my children, that will be absurd to say the least. Rather than do a thing like that, if your children are somewhat interested in Bitcoin like you said, then let them register on the forum and join in the discussions about Bitcoin and other whatnots that go on here. There are more important things i'd worry about passing down to my children than my account. This thread should be in meta in my opinion.
2410  Other / Off-topic / Re: The importance of a mentor/coach shouldn't be despised. on: July 03, 2022, 04:20:21 PM
A swimming and a crypto mentor is two wholly different things. A personal mentor/coach is not really important in cryptocurrency, and could not only be counter-productive, but risky for newbies, mind you that most newbies do not know a lot about security, privacy and anonymity, thus they might give up some of that to the person they consider a mentor, and that might prove costly in the long run.

Having said that, it is prolly better to learn by yourself, and even if you'd want to get a mentor, it shouldn't be a personal one, it could be someone you admire from afar, and try to learn from. Mind you also that basically copying someone's strategies doesn't help you learn, but in hindsight limits your knowledge.

Chelsea have been involved with Sterling for a long time and will do their best to include him in the team. But we'll see if it's worth paying such a high price.
I do not consider what it's rumored chelsea are willing to pay for Sterling as a high price (around £50m), Sterling has been magnificent for City since joining the club, he is also a complete professional who doesn't complain or bring disunity in the dressing room when he isn't playing regularly. If you look at the amount of money that clubs have been spending on players lately, then you definitely can't call this a high fee, Spurs signed Richarlison who is not an established footballer for around £60m, and Arsenal signed Gabriel Jesus for £45m, it is what it is, and Raheem Sterling is just 27 years old, he still has quite a lot of years ahead of him, so if Chelsea get him now for that price, it is a worthy bargain.

Having said that, the problem here is for City, and that's not because they are letting Sterling go, but they are selling him to their direct rival Chelsea, i just hope this does not affect them in the grand scheme of things come the end of next season.
2412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 02, 2022, 10:20:11 PM
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a free agent for now and his current injury is going to last really long like 7-8 months starting from May 25. I guess he doesn't think of retiring for now but it is difficult for him to find a team for himself while having a serious injury also. He might recover on Jan 15 according to Transfermarkt and maybe then a team would like to sign him for 6 months at least. Zlatan must be still zealous to play football. Maybe we can see him back at Milan too we will see.
This injury to Zlatan might be one of the reasons he retires earlier than he wishes or planned to. He is 40 years of age, and it takes older players quite a longer time to recover from an injury and to regain back their form, thus for a player of 40 years it is going to be very difficult, even if Zlatan is a real fighter, this is one fight he prolly might not win. Having said that, nothing can be certain yet, he might still recover well by next year, but one thing is certain, and it is that no big team will sign him, thus he might then move to a smaller team in maybe a less competitive league, and end his career there.

No i do not think that BTC will drop below the 13k-14k range in July, i also do not have any reasons/analysis backing up what i just said, even if i had i don't think it would be necessary to post them, the thread is for fun sentiments/speculations after all Grin.
2414  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Beware]New scammer scheme using exchange on: July 02, 2022, 06:32:37 PM
Everyday there's a new thread about a new method of how scammers operate. Telegram in subject has become very jam packed with scammers who previously opened up scam investment groups but it is now obvious that they have upgraded their crypto currency scamming method.
To be honest, they have upgraded nothing, this method is very popular, well, it would be new for newcomers who prolly have no knowledge or experience, but then even as a newbie one should still be able to sense what looks like a scam, or what looks just too good to be true, and we all can agree that once a stranger sends you a message talking about something like what is in the op, it is undoubtedly a scam.
Don't think that you are the lucky one out of many to be offered a huge percentage, they try this method with many person's in one day hoping to take advantage of the greedy ones
That is it, the promise of the percentage is what allures people to some of these scams, and that is only cause they believe there is free money waiting to be harnessed in crypto, and that is why scammers will always have victims.

In my opinion, Ronaldo deserves to be captain of Man United.
Ronaldo is unarguably one of the best players of all time, and only a few footballers are worthy to tie his laces, but i'm afraid i do not consider Ronaldo to be a captain "material", let us be honest, Ronaldo somewhat plays for his individual accolades, he is less of a team player than what a captain should be, there are numerous times that the team have won, but Ronaldo was unhappy just cause he did not get on the scoresheet, now can we also talk about his discouraging body movements when the team is losing or when the game isn't going his way, that is not how you want your captain to behave, and if i were to be manager of Manchester United, i would definitely not be happy if Ronaldo is my skipper.
2417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: June 30, 2022, 01:59:15 PM
It is a good move for West Ham but I doubt this move will make them go even further in climbing more places in the standings compared to last year. This is because a lot of other teams in the Premier League are doing the same as West Ham signing good players in order to improve their overall team performance.
West Ham aren't only trying strengthen their team to finish higher in the table next season, of course if it happens, they'll take it, but that can't be their major goal, they would know they aren't part of the big 6, and it is going to be difficult to break in there, but they need to buy as many quality players as possible so that they can continue to compete just as they did last season, and also to maintain their position and not finish lower in the table than they did last season (if climbing higher proves impossible). Thus if they can get Danjuma and some of their other targets, it obviously makes them stronger, mind you that the teams that finished below them are also trying to buy some new quality players themselves, another reason why West Ham must do the same.

Me shaa no still see problem with enaira o, na welcome development e be. Other countries don dey get CBDC, so e go beta make we follow put body at once, who knows wetin e go turn tomorrow. Na this feeling of inferiority say we no reach na wetin make oyibo dey ahead of us for everywhere. Make Nigeria join the bandwagon, if e good we take, if e no good we clean mouth comot joor.
Mind you that CBDC's aren't a sort of investment, so i really do not understand what you mean by "who knows wetin e go turn tomorrow", like it is going to change form or something, it is still going to be a digital fiat currency 'tomorrow' or any other time for that matter, and that is it, it will still function like the naira, centralized, controlled, created by the CBN, just that it is digital, so what do you want us to expect from it 'tomorrow'. There is no such inferiority complex bro, we are just being factual here, we are developing, that is if we haven't slipped down the ladder to underdeveloped, and we are behind first world countries, it is what it is, and you have to accept that. Maybe if we had used our resources the proper way, and concentrated on more productive things than CBDC's, we prolly won't be this far behind.
2419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: June 29, 2022, 08:38:40 PM
Chelsea must be really regretful for signing him as they have had a problematic relationship with him for some time. After this deal I guess that Chelsea would like to sign a new striker. As they haven't sold Lukaku on a permanent deal I wonder if they will also go for a striker on loan too. Because their priority is signing a defender now.
I believe Chelsea will make the deal permanent after the end of next season, so that should not be a problem. Of course Chelsea would completely regret re-signing Lukaku as it was a failed transfer, not to talk of the money they spent (or rather wasted) on him, well that is football, and these sort of things are always bound to happen. A striker now becomes a priority for Chelsea next season, bringing a marksman to Stamford Bridge is now as important as signing defenders because Timo Werner can't lead the line for Chelsea, he is not consistent and he doesn't score often.
2420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: June 29, 2022, 07:51:53 PM
Origi has officially become an AC Milan player, just waiting for the announcement. In my opinion, the right decision to add a striker, because Milan's current forward is filled with older players, such as Ibra and Giroud. Origi has the potential to be the first choice for Milan. Ibra may only be a super sub with Milan next season, at least until the middle of the season considering he is currently injured, maybe the coach doesn't want to force Ibra to play too hard at the beginning of his return.
That is if Ibrahimovich remains in AC Milan next season, IIRC a decision is yet to be taken by the club and himself if he is going to leave or stay, you know he has a serious injury and he will be out for quite a long time, and considering his age, who knows the shape he will be in when he returns. Having said that, i believe Origi is a wonderful signing for AC Milan, Inter have re-signed Lukaku, and Juve are about to re-sign Pogba, that only means that the competition for the Seria A title will be fiercer next season, thus any team that does not strengthen in key areas will have no chance of being champions.
