There should be 50 confirmations if you look at Transactions tab. After that your mined coins and coins participating in mining will be available in Balance. That's how PoS work.
thnx... any idea why wouldn't the full available balance participate in mining? That is the question I also have, as not all my coins where used in stake like before. |

Someone just started a thread about a new security flaw affecting OpenSSL and all wallets using anything but the latest version. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=561464.0He says "although the vulnerability has been addressed in OpenSSL's version 1.0.1g, it is present in prior versions up to 1.0.1f." He goes on to say he checked the current Vertcoin wallet and it is vulnerable because it is using version 1.0.1'c'. Apparently CGA and YACC will be updated soon. The thread also says any exchanges using OpenSSL are vulnerable too. I just checked the latest community coin wallet but could not find the OpenSSL version it uses. All I could find in the Qt help was "This product includes software developed by the OpenSSL Project". Thanks for sharing information! This should be checked! So far, when dev will be online, things to get him to take into consideration: 1. Check, which OpenSSL version is used in software. 2. Update OP with link to Mac OSX wallet (and donation address for instacash). Wallet works without problems (I am waiting for PoS to kick in now, but should be fine) Anyone has something to add to list? |

I see the Stake field... but was wondering why the COMM wasn't all available... guess I am too used to Nxt where the full amount of NXT participates in forging. Don't worry. It's how the stake works. The coins will go back to balance after they get mature. There should be 50 confirmations if you look at Transactions tab. After that your mined coins and coins participating in mining will be available in Balance. That's how PoS work. Indeed, I like that COMM has only 50 confirmations for PoS minted coins to mature. Jeepers, the Mintpal action is amazing. I actually have the page open in my browser and I'm seeing the vote count increase right in front of my eyes.

+1 Community member count is at least 400. If everyone gives 5, 20 or 40 votes per day, it results in 2000, 8000 or 16000 votes received in favour of COMM every day. As of now there are only 1603 votes counted. So, are only small amount of us, who are voting for COMM at Mintpal?! It seems that it's possible to get listed at top of the list, theoretically in a week. But the best momentum for reaching first place is when distribution has been finished. Let's not force DEV to do it faster, as he is doing the best in that regard. |

Can somebody feedback? also donate him please As far as starting the application, syncing and transactions (sent to myself from Windows PC), Mac OSX wallet works as intended to be on Maverics 10.9.2. I think there won't be problems with PoS. I'll give a feedback about PoS as soon as I'll receive mined coins. I'll donate to instacash and suggest to do it everyone who at least uses Mac OSX wallet. COMM transaction speed is veeery fast, indeed! This is highly valuable point about this coin. |

Thank you, brightlight. It does require some custom fiddling (I come from a Mac development background hence I know how to solve these issues). If you are wondering how to proceed where you were stuck, send me a PM and I'll let you know how  . It requires converting the assembler macros of scrypt-x86_64.S to C preprocessor ones, for instance ( how to). I also sent a pull request for the Mac dock minimizing bug over at github. PS. posting donation addresses for a contribution is fine with Bitcointalk's rules afaik. Giveaways and similar are not allowed, though. No worries! Thank you for welcoming to help! I'll try to find time for compiling wallet, even if it's done, compiling is interesting for me as a subject. |

I agree about Mintpal, p&d is almost guaranteed, when it hits that exchange, therefore coin should be ready to fight against big dump. BC does good now, but remember that 200 sat time in BC history. The best idea for BC was it's multipool feature. FAC had bad time when dev was unable to distribute 15mio coins, because of wallet issues, after some time it was hacked with hard fork. Now it is still alive. They also have multipool in testing phase.
Good thing about BC is it's speed, but I suspect COMM is also fast, PoS is even faster than BC have.
Does COMM need multipool, I doubt, because of first year 30% PoS reward. From the other side, multipool can, but not definately, accumulate funds in COMM.
In my opinion, it's better to let that as BC authentic feature and not implement it into COMM's life.
The BC multipool seems to have made a big difference to BC in the short term. Whether it keeps making a difference remains to be seen. You can have a look at the fair coin multipool at http://fair-coin.info/multipoolCOMM has not even finished the distribution stage yet, so there is plenty of time to keep an eye on the fair coin and BC multipools. Maybe if they do really well then it's worth considering the same idea for COMM, but it's too early to say how well they will do. +1 Let's observe already running multipools. Maybe here will come even better idea. Multipool in it's roots is devil.  Anyway it's still long way to top of Mintpal voting list. Good that we are voting now intensively. I think we will be ready, before COMM hits mainstream exchange. |

you will not be helping the coin this way,
if everyone decides to sell at the first exchange that appears the price will surely go down to .0000 0001 BTC
so I advise everyone to just stick around and help developer and rest of the community promote the coin
and to tell you the truth I don't know if its a good choice to actually have the coin on mintpal.com quite early
I think there should be giveaways, faucets, bounties to do stuff, games etc
before people start exchanging it (on mintpal)
so that the other people get some interest in it ... otherwise it would be downward price movement only
For more ideas we can look at BC, C2, FAC
since they have done quite a succesful promotion of the coins
and majority is still holding the coins and helping build a community around it
and making them go up in price

I think maybe COMM will be the next NXT:) I think that COMM will be much bigger and better than NXT! That depends on what we, as community, will do in favour of COMM growth. There should be something special coin can offer. So we have to think about new ideas. |

Coin is still as newborn child, let all things with it's launch/distribution settle down. I appreciate your job and think you will be heard. Who knows, maybe this coin could be nearby BC by market cap some day. But, please, everyone in a rush, just be patient and help this coin to grow as much as you can. How much did you sell at? Lets just say i sold super lol enough that i could have bought 1 pack of smokes for each coin i sold .. and it was all because i was new to the whole thing of crypto so i treated it like a stock and gave into the propaganda and sold to cut losses moved and never looked back till i seen a article at the time saying they was going for a couple of hundred $$ for each coin. What made the whole thing worse was that if i had kept the coins i could have sold some to give my father a proper funeral when he passed away last year That's life. And sorry for you loss. +1 I am sorry too for your potential loss. That's huge amount, but crypto world is very wild, there are involved basic emotions such as fear and courage. Don't blame yourself for those BTC. You can't earn all world's money, just believe in that it will come back to you, maybe a little bit less than you want to (appetite resulting from eating), but still! I have learned to not to take crypto currencies as serious as fiat. Yes, those are interchangeable, but there are so much wonders and surprises as much as disappointments possible. |
