2461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: July 11, 2016, 09:35:32 PM
I never bought drugs with FIAT let alone with bitcoin. Don't do drugs kids, they will only ruin you. But... A kid's [7-8 years old] mother in the neighborhood showed me a pill which she found in her kid's pocket. It was a black pill and it has a goddamn BTC logo on it. I instantly got mad than i thought, what i do about it anyway... Drug sellers are fucking everywhere, keep you kids safe.

SMH at this. I had never considered anyone would use the BTC logo for anything other than btc, mostly because it's new and not the most popular thing in the world. But to have this as a pill imprint... people are shits Undecided and this is the last thing bitcoin needs, a bunch of these popping up on the news at a school or something.
2462  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: July 11, 2016, 09:32:19 PM
What you think, can we expect bitcoin bank to appear in some near future? I saw a lot of talking around forum, and some different opinions, but nobody knows nothing for sure. Can they secure that coins, like big banks secure money?

Well I have bank account and bitcoin wallet, I feel safe with both of them. But in the case that one day I can pay things with btc, I will gladly cancel my bank card and put everything in bitcoin bank. For me is much better to support btc then any other fiat. My silent fight against the system.

Already here Smiley I'm waiting for this to work, so that other banks see the light and adopt this

*most interesting man voice*

Usually I buy drugs.

And when I do, I insist on using a method of payment that is not publically recorded on millions of computers around the entire world forever.

Children, just say no to block chain drugs.
2464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Fucking Chinese on: July 11, 2016, 09:19:26 PM
As if it has to do with being Chinese.  Roll Eyes

Those F-ing hard workers, all they did is work hard and invest capitol.  I sat on my ass and got nothing! It's just not fair! Whaaaa!

LOL, I was wondering when we would realize we let the most important part of bitcoin go to a nation that we are at odds with economically. I'm not mad, I'm just bitter we didn't spend more time as a country trying to improve mining technologies rather than the code. We were at a loss already, we were never in a position to compete with the Chinese on mass production, ESP of an electronic. Half the shit in my house comes from China. They figured out production ages ago.

Rawdog makes my heart race ROFL, I'm getting amped just reading his posts. You can taste the energy and crunkness. It's zesty.
2465  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why are you investing in Bitcoin? on: July 11, 2016, 03:56:49 PM
Since the price of Bitcoin changes a lot, so I know most of you are investing large amounts of money in Bitcoin.
But why are you doing this? to make money by selling them after a price increase? or is it just to have something to do on the internet?
And since the price can increase and decrease, you can lose this invested money, what would you do?

I'm investing time to generate bitcoin. No need to convert my hard earned fiat to a currency with limited use. Better to mine with ones mind, and efforts, instead of diverting value from my other income streams. This is an experiment still at this stage, and while I trust in the protocol (I can't see a massive, overnight devaluation, for example) I don't believe in putting alot of eggs in one basket. I always tend to drop or lose it   Grin
2466  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if price of bitcoin dont increase after halving too. on: July 11, 2016, 03:52:16 PM
I think alot of folks got confused on the run up from the mid 400s to here. It coincided most beautifully with the Brexit thing, I believe some people thought we were 'going to the moon' and were a bit dissatisfied when we didn't leave the atmosphere. We will need some time for the actual mechanic the halving employs (reducing coin generation speed) to have an effect of the market. All this price movement you are seeing at the moment, is simply speculation.
2467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is big problem in using of bitcoin on: July 11, 2016, 03:47:26 PM
what problem do you have in bitcoin.

i've no problem either with bitcoin tho.just plss don't down bitcoin from 600-700$ and stay on that price. thanks Smiley

Merchant adoption, user friendliness and security for unskilled users. And oh yeah, a highly volatile exchange rate that is driving purely by media.
2468  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you do with your btc? on: July 11, 2016, 03:45:08 PM
I sit in a dark cave, pallid with Donald Trump hair, and rock back and forth referring to them as 'my precious'.

Sometimes I play pog with physical bitcoin.

But mist of the time, I just spend them. Because, well, it's money.
2469  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate women to use Bitcoin? on: July 11, 2016, 03:39:39 PM
its very easy way to motivate woman to use bitcoin, you can aware woman about the benefit of bitcoin if they know about the fastest transaction of bitcoin than other currency and if they know about to earn bitcoin online through the signature campaign .then i hope they will get motivation easily .

Do your really think that woman will be interested in speed of trasnsaction and about earning money online with signature campaign? Just try to buy some gifts for here Grin

Most of the girls would like to spend their time by shopping their needs such as bags, shoes or clothing, if there are a shopping mall who accept bitcoin for the payment method i do believe women will use. Bitcoin with very often.

See? This is what I'm talking about. Not a personal attack, but all 'girls' don't like to spend their time shopping. This would be akin to saying we could get 'boys' to use more bitcoin if GameStop accepted it. Or if they only sold porn for bitcoin. It may be hilarious, but generalizing the motivations and the behaviors or an entire group of people is called stereotyping.

I'm black. If they sold car and car audio accessories for bitcoin, would more African Americans use bitcoin? Hell naw (black folks dont discuss bitcoins a whole lot, in my experience). But that's the tone this thread takes.
2470  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you do if you suddenly lost all of your bitcoins? on: July 11, 2016, 03:32:31 PM
This kind of post creates FUD About bitcoin. We all know that the possibility to lose Bitcoin is there but it doesn't happen that often and it is usually due to human error. There is no way to answer this question either because it would be personal to each individual.

Hehe, this is one of those 'come here to drive up your post count threads'. I love how some of our least English speaking members feel the need to start these open ended 'thought exercises' about hypothetical situations or opinions in the Bitcoin sphere that are irrelevant. Thus would be akin to me making a 'Beef, chicken or fish?' thread. It might be slightly interesting, hell, it might get 20 pages, but at the end if that ride you never really accomplished anything.

And to address the question, since I stopped getting a bitcoin salary, I haven't had so much that, if I lost all of it, it would be an issue. I tend to keep less than 100 USD equivalent, there is nothing else I need bitcoin for accept internet orders. Hell, you cant really use it for too much else, no storefronts accept it around my way.

I wouldn't suicide, but I will be very depressed ..
Wow i just almost did,lol...
I have busted another 0,1 in bitcoin gambling site,i would never expect that after getting 15 losses in a row on 50% chance,i would get the 16th but well,
looks i just got it.

Martingales always do this. This is also how I took my first major gambling loss. Probability sucks  Angry  Grin
2471  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate women to use Bitcoin? on: July 11, 2016, 03:20:52 PM
Gosh, so much sexism in this thread...  Undecided

Lol! I said this like a million posts back. If I were female and I came across this thread while educating myself about bitcoin, suddenly, I wouldn't be so interested in bitcoin anymore Smiley

Women spend money. Damned well if you ask me. Give them opportunities to earn bitcoin, and the spending part, well, that just comes naturally Smiley

It isn't any more complicated than that.
2472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone who supports the hard fork is an abomination to the crypto world. on: July 11, 2016, 03:07:24 PM
I know it was within the rules, as the code is the law, but how could banks and big businesses seriously look at using ETH, if a thief was allowed to walk off with millions of $ worth of coins, just because of the coding error?

ETH seems to want to go mainstream, that isn't very popular on Bitcointalk, but if it is to happen, they need to be able to fix major flaws, rather than just screwing over the little guy who has money stolen from them.
Let's face it, the main reason why the masses shouldn't use bitcoin is because there is too much chance that they will have it stolen from them, if that can be prevented or rectified somehow, then I think main stream use could be massively increased.

I want to see if the courts feel the same way about the 'code being the law'. While this whole thing went down according to contract, the spirit of the act shows that the hacker wasn't acting in good faith. I personally don't have an issue with what happened here, I'm glad this happened now instead of later I mean. But I feel a judge is going to look at this a immediately think 'he stole this money from the other group participants', this is a brand new territory legally we are exploring with this..

Eth should have never picked up the heavy load that is the Slock.it DAO, and now it has to carry said load on its back until it reaches its destination.
2473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Launching a new coin on: July 11, 2016, 02:59:32 PM
What are some features of your coin that are a unique offering in this space? What algo, and is there a development timeline? What issue of concern is your technology addressing?

I say that to say this. Unless you are doing something novel, or plan to advertise so much that it at least looks novel, save your time. This market is flooded with coin offerings at the moment, and the public is wary of the ICO model at the moment because of our mutual friend the DAO. It's 'too soon'.
2474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is dogecoin worth to invest? on: July 11, 2016, 02:55:07 PM
The first dogecoin train is gone, but you can wait next train....dogecoin is popular altcoin and we can wait when price will rise again.

If you look at the chart in polo, you see that the train is pretty regular, and comes around quite often. Takes a slow lull to high 30s low 50s SATs per, and spikes up to the stratosphere for a bit. Looks like an EKG Grin but for the record, we are in one of said lulls as we speak. Wait for the peak.
2475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DAO being dissolved - what do you think people will do with all that ETH on: July 11, 2016, 02:48:22 PM
Shit's being dumped on the market like a piggy bank in a poor b---- b--'s hand.  That's why the price is in the shitter and it truly baffles me that it isn't approaching zero more rapidly.

Its getting closer though. I still maintain that they should have just abandoned the dao all together. It would be really bad for everyone who invested in the dao but at least it would have saved ethereum. By forking to release the funds which people are going to dump back into ether all your doing is taking down eth with the dao. Eth could have been saved with my method, instead they both go down the drain.

As I said in another post, black magic is responsible for keeping the price propped up  Grin but seriously, I'm thinking someone is spending a grip to keep the price as elevated as possible, so they don't go into 'the dump' with sub 10 prices already on the table. Because we can all agree that before it goes up, this ship is going down, and quickly. Like others. I just don't understand why this isn't sub 7 right now. People have panicked much more for much less deal.
2476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DAO being dissolved - what do you think people will do with all that ETH on: July 11, 2016, 02:44:01 PM
So Stephen Tual confirmed The DAO is getting turned into a withdraw only contract. What do you think people will do when they finally get their ETH from the DAO? Hodl? I don't think so.

I don't think any serious investor outside their core group of insiders will take a look at Ethereum after the attack. The Ethereum Foundation will make it a point to create a marketing campaign to convince the public that everything is fine. Maybe it might work.

There isn't enough public relations in all of the World to mend this wound. I imagine they will attempt to rebrand a bit, or at least reassure folks the asset is now 'safe', but it's a bit too late for that now as this debacle has been going on for damn near a month, slow motion car crash style. This was too protracted in the public eye, and got way more attention than it should have due to the record breaking size of the crowdsale. But, crypto memories are short; it will pop back up in a few years with a slightly different message and dev team, and we will be discussing this again Smiley
2477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can the dev team retrieve forgotten coins? on: July 11, 2016, 02:38:07 PM
Nobody would do that, because if you dont own the private keys, you cannot prove the address is yours

This. I would also be very concerned if they were able to access your wallet without needing the correct/an actual priv key. Even if only a dev had this function, this would be a huge security issue and a possible vector of attack in the future.

If you don't control the key, you don't possess the coin.
2478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2016-07-08] coinfox.info| Ethereum to use hard fork to undo theft from The DAO on: July 11, 2016, 02:33:16 PM
Ethereum to use hard fork to undo theft from The DAO

By decentralised voting holders of 97% of ethers have shown unanimous support to a hard fork as an optimum way to return the funds stolen on 17 July by an anonymous malefactor. ....

http://www.coinfox.info/news/5883-ethereum-to-use-hard-fork-to-undo-theft-from-the-dao

After the soft fork option kind of fell by the wayside, this was literally inevitable. Sure, the community at large has made this decision, but I'm sure most of the people that voted actually have a dog in this fight. Anyhow, I will be glued to an exchange chart watching this like a hawk. I may paper trade this to see how I would have done, but unless this shows very strong, very clear indicators I will not be speculating. But this saga has been one of the most epic tales on this forum for some time. Never a dull moment I guess Grin

But someone tell me, what black magic is responsible for propping up the price like this lately? If Vitalik got eaten by a grue, I don't think the price would move a whole lot, LOL.
2479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is LISK inspired by Starcraft and World of Warcraft? on: July 11, 2016, 02:28:50 PM
The logo for this coin always looked a little cheesy to me, as well as the name. I never get what goes through the heads of the devs when they  pick these coin names.  Mainly, I could never figure out what they hell a Lisk was looking at the logo. Apparently a badly Photoshopped blue space crystal.

Could u go into more detail on this plz?

I think the LISK branding is very nifty. It targets the gamers and obviously they have a lot of money especially in China.

~CfA~

I think a discreet icon, and not a texture, would be more appropriate for this brand. This is a financial instrument. Lisk is a 'cool' name, but for the level of investment expected, especially given the popularity of assets like this ATM, I think it is a bit juvenile. What does an art asset from what is arguably the best real time strategy game ever made, have to do with a crypto asset? I only say this because the traditional finance world is watching us from the sidelines, and laughing at us a bit. They are not gamers, they are older men in nice suits. The appeal would be lost on them. VC comes from those that generate value, I think pitching an investment product aimed towards a demographic that doesn't make income is questionable. This isn't an attack, it is a criticism. I have none of these and most likely won't buy any, but I think a better attempt at branding, that is more appealing to a larger demographic, would be a better choice.

And I feel this way about Ethereum's brand (ether is fleeting and unsubstantial, these are not qualities I want associated with my money.) And waves (waves of what? Is the project going to make waves? what is wavy dammit!?)

This would be akin to me making a new, useful coin and calling it dontforgetthemilk coin. Do you see how I just shot myself in the foot regarding people taking my product seriously?
2480  Other / Archival / Re: Do you have paypal account even though you have bitcoin? on: July 09, 2016, 11:40:41 PM
I would have a PayPal account, except for the fact that they are evil and will freeze your account for no good reason, then seize your funds damn near indefinitely. No, I'm not bitter one bit.
