1541  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you place all your funds into bitcoin? on: March 23, 2017, 03:17:55 AM
I am thinking .. to put all my money in bitcoin what do you think? is it a good way to grow my money? or it is risky or.. ?

It's a way to live, honestly. It has its advantages, but the disadvantages outweigh them IMO. Unless you have a bitcoin debit card, you will be relegated to using gift cards, or using the rare business that actually accepts bitcoin. You will gain if you hold, but unless you make enough income to actually save money/bitcoin, the short term dips might have you unable to pay a bill, or a few cents short when you had enough a fee minutes ago. You are also subject to network congestion. I cannot tell you how many times I have sent btx to my shift card, left the house, arrived at the store, and still had to wait an additional 30 minutes (I went home waiting, once).
1542  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: March 23, 2017, 03:06:06 AM
Bitcoin could reach 10k without fiat having to go through hyper inflation or anything, if adoption grew by 10 times the current amount of people and business, then it stands to reason to believe that the price will grow that much, so fiat will not be worthless in that scenario.
Well the price suggested here is ridiculously low for the fiat price to become worthless.  Multiplying the adoption of Bitcoin by 10 would still leave it an absolutely tiny currency compared to, for example, the US dollar.
Correct, 10k for bitcoin is not enough for the world economy to function because we know there is a limit in the number of bitcoin, I have not done the math but bitcoin will probably need to reach at least 1 million per bitcoin to be able to run the economies of the world.

Good observation. Also, may I add that Cash has unique properties because it is a physical token of value. Many transactions made are not made to be seen by the public eye, and cash facilitates this, it is the ultimate anonymous value transfer mechanism. Also, if it became a world currency, we would see individual governments have unique currencies. They would not late adopt into a global currency.
1543  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Save the planet or not on: March 23, 2017, 02:46:03 AM
Global warming is an obvious fact, but the reasons for its occurrence are not exactly established. Most likely it is caused by a change in solar activity and we are not yet able to influence this. One can only struggle to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which in any case will bring considerable benefits.

Stop this BS. Everyone knows what is causing the global warming. Stop burning coal and cutting down the tropical forests, and you will have the global average temperature down to the previous levels.

We agree good sir  Grin we also need to reduce corporate pollution, through the extraction/processing of resources and manufacturing wastes. And, we need to put all petrochemicals down, or at least use them for something more exotic than powering a car. I'm a realist, this won't happen over night, and certain parties will resist. But, if we want the marble to last, we have to take care of it. They will only be more of us. I would make a joke about white genocide and that 'more of us' being brown, but we stand in solidarity at the moment, friend.

1544  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Under World War 3... on: March 23, 2017, 02:40:25 AM

--snip--

If world war III erupts the first one to be destroyed are the satellites in space since those are necessary in winning the battle. This means that in the first wave of the war the internet connection will also be cut-off rendering bitcoin transaction and mining useless. Another thing is when the battle will occur electricity as well as computers storing bitcoins will be destroyed. In short if World War III occurs bitcoin will also die.

To my point of view this will never happen. There are about 1500 operational satellites around the earth according to pixalytics and imo is not an easy task to destroy them. Therefore, this not the case. I believe people will not bother with bitcoin because they will have to give priority in basic needs (food and water) and mining will stop because governments they will not permit vast amounts of electricity to be consumed only for mining processes.

Valid point. Even if the network still exists, staying alive would take the cake, I don't think folks would bother with btc given how unreliable access would be in this situation. There might be nternet, but it just won't be everywhere. Also, ID much rather some ammunition, food, or precious metal, as they would be the most liquidable assets in this scenario. Hell, medicine, tools, seeds, nutrients, seasonal clothes, drugs, fuck it, anything that I can hold in my hand and has value, period.

Although magic internet money has its advantages, a SHTF scenario is not its shining moment.
1545  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fuck your vaccines on: March 23, 2017, 02:33:27 AM
if the biggest reason why preventing yourself from contracting a debilitating viral infection is because you're afraid of a 1 second poke, maybe you need to grow a pair.

Give this man a cookie. You have the good sense your parents gave you. It's rare here, and welcome aboard.

Even if you did (the paranoid) believe that vaccines are harmful, despite an overwhelming majority of scientific evidence which suggest otherwise, you have to concede that the benefits (not dying for the majority of folks) greatly outweigh the risks (possibly dying for a few folks, or developing autism). If I'm going to roll a d00 in the game of life, fuck it, I'll take those chances. And depend on my Constitution bonus because I'm a dwarf.

Oh, BTW folks, the earth is flat, and aliens killed Kennedy.

1546  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trumps Travel Ban? (Round 2) on: March 23, 2017, 02:21:10 AM
Unconstitutional?  Really?  Are you an expert on that?  At the bare minimum, have you read the 9th circuit case and do you understand the counter arguments?  If not, please don't pretend.

Still, you miss my point.  There are 178 federal appeals court judges.

Give them the power to over rule a POTUS decision, whatever a POTUS did, some one or several of them could object.

This is a clear case of a category of issues that are termed "Constitutional crises," situations where there is a problem with the application of the US Constitution.

So these 178 judges are more powerful than the president of the United States? I have always thought that the president of the United States was the most powerful individual in the world (except when Barack Obama was the POTUS).

Was Nixon the most powerful person in the world, when he resigned instead of being impeached? No, the president isn't the most powerful person in the world. The Constitution was established to prevent just that, through separation of powers.

You are mixing the men with the message. The idea here is that the judges represent The Law. The Law deemed his shit weak. You know, Law as dictated by a duly elected officer of the Court. You guys believe in elections right? 'That judge won his seat fair and square', just like old 45  Wink Without any of the zesty bite of Russian interference.
1547  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The level of unpopularity Trump grows. on: March 23, 2017, 02:09:44 AM
You are absolutely right Trump sure is creating jobs. Helping the dead coal industry, and hiring plenty of new law enforcement agents to police our borders, LOL. What about the jobs he is taking away from low income rural Americans, by reducing funding to programs that incentivize rural business? Rural business boards have been cut, the Appalachian Rural board has been practically killed (13 States affected, not just NC).

So we got a few factory jobs back, and plenty of new boys in uniform. And the coal guys are going crazy that someone even gives a flip about an industry that is at the mercy of China (there are strategic economic reasons why the coal industry has been depressed, we lost control of it).

And though we all love to point out how the budget dipped while Trump was in office (he hasn't passed/endorsed any legislature with domestic implications on labor, I may be wrong). We have a travel ban, and really clearly defined immigration.

Wait for the wall (don't hold your breath). If you thought the budget had hopes, they will be dashed over a cliff if happens. Mexico said, send them a bill, they will get back to us  Grin Grin
1548  Economy / Securities / Re: Any Safe 1.5% Monthly? on: March 23, 2017, 01:56:10 AM
Is there any safe monthly investment offering a value like that (1.5%)?

I know about casino bankrolls, just searching if there is something more. I tried on Google, but I just see a lot of HYIP schemes.

Grow trees. I shit you not.

You may be specifically talking about bitcoin, but I want to point this out because value is value, and bitcoins can be fiat, and the inverse.

“Studies have shown that you can approach 10-13% rate of return from land which beats just about anything you can put your money in,”

It’s seriously profitable, too. If you had bought Apple stock at its IPO in 1980, you’d be up over 200x your money. And that is truly phenomenal performance.

But had you instead planted an apple tree back in 1980, that investment of roughly $1 would have yielded you THOUSANDS of dollars over the last 35 years.

Planting a tree in a container = 10 bucks tops. Three years later, depending on the type of tree, you could easily ask for 100 dollars. Maybe even less, it really depends on the tree.

And, you get to watch your investment every day, as it literally growa. And noone can pull a Gox and abscond with your shit.

Solid.
1549  Economy / Economics / Re: The best time to invest. on: March 23, 2017, 01:45:01 AM

Some day in the future, you will realize that the best time to invest was not today, but some other day in the future, when prices were low. But with the information that you have today, the best time to invest is still today, because you do not know when prices will be low, and you do know that the longer you hold your investment, the more time it has to grow.

Toughts?

The best time to invest is when the price is low, but i think that even if buying in now you would be getting bitcoin at a discount compared to what the price will be in say 15 years.

Agree. But, it will dip, and this has been quite bullish for a while, I don't expect this to keep up forever. It will retract, but I doubt it will get sub 1000 anytime soon. The last massive edump following the ETF rejection proved that for me. But, it the actual stock market falters (it's starting to fumble as we speak, fiscal policies are unclear this administration, and the health care repeal is complicating this so wonderfully).
1550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Electro-Magnetic-Pulse on: March 23, 2017, 01:41:33 AM
If I could find a way to send some sort of emf pulse through Bitmain's entire network, and completely ruin them I would. This would include all of their equipment and wallets where they store all of their coins and backups. Poof, in a blink of an eye, Bitmain lays in ruins. How great would that be people? They are the biggest threat to bitcoin right now.

Detonate a 1 megaton thermonuclear warhead at high altitude over China. Will probably take out most electronic equipment out in far east asia too.

Then just wait 2016 blocks until the next network difficulty change. Might take a while.

Or just join the calls for a PoW change, so that a new mining pool oligarchy can develop. Just buy up CPU, GPU, FGPA stocks quickly and it could be you!

I laughed, Good God I laughed. You get a cookie, Mister.

I understand the angst, OP, but removing that much of the network would have grave consequences on network congestion. And network confidence. Ultimately, it would shake up the dice cuo, but in a bad way.
1551  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: A big problem in bitcoin ??? on: March 23, 2017, 01:38:16 AM
I am not sure that this section is right to post my thread .
my question is :
since it was already fixed by the bitcoin owner network that 21 millions bitcoin can exist in the whole internet
But now I heard that now the mining of the bitcoin will be unlimited , I mean unlimited bitcoin will generate by the bitcoin network .
If this is real news then the value of the bitcoin will go down speedly
It is because the supply is unlimited so it is simple to say that bitcoin price will no more increase rapidly ., so no more profit

what's your thought guys Huh

There will indeed be a finite number of coins issued, as you have stated, but miners will still get fees from the solving of blocks, even after coins have stopped generating. At this point, the fees will probably be more profitable than mining for block rewards, given the price of bitcoin if it survives that long.
1552  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Global Warming Did It... on: March 23, 2017, 01:05:33 AM
Well of course climate change is real. Yesterday was sunny and warm. Today is rainy and cool. Tomorrow it will be cold and snowy. The next day it will be warm and sunny and all the snow will melt. Climate change.

Nobody has a clear enough understanding of thousands of years of climate to be able tell that the present, tiny shift isn't some cycle that has happened hundreds of times in the past.

The big issue that has been made out of climate change these days is of a political nature, to put fear in the minds of people, so that they bow to the wishes of their politician saviors... all to make the politicians rich.

Cool

I will concede your point, but consider; did we have all the environmental factors available back in the day that could influence the Climate? A much higher population, the widespread combustion of fossil fuels, and industrial waste/environmental damage?  Should we fear making extrapolations using all if the technology we have accumulated, because we may be wrong? Even if you don't want to include the current climactic deviations, surely, we as a larger group of humans have a larger effect on the environment, which will grow as our numbers do?

Don't you think addressing those concerns proactively is better than cleaning up a mess,? Especially if our knowledge is so limited, as you have stated?

And yes, all things of this world lead to substance, to Mammon. We can agree on that, brother.

I really doubt the polls and whatever they spew nowadays, The pollsters are mainly liberals and they are all on the side of the Democrats, The presidency is not about popularity, its all about getting the job done and President Trump is doing the exact thing, making America great again.

Can you please name the particular era in American history that you are referring to, when America was great? And can you please identify your demographic (at least age range and sex, ID love to know your race)

A range of dates is fine, even a whole decade.

Never mind, you are most likely Caucasian. You don't have to answer that  Grin

Given that under the last President, average American income has been declining, given the incredible fuckup of Syria and Bengazi by Hillary/Obama, given the doubling of the national debt in the last eight years, your attempt to reframe the question in such terms is offensive?

Reframing a question is a tactic used by the likes of politicians, usually to change the subject to one that they want to talk about.

No, seriously, I would honestly like to know what time period in America was great, that you want to return to. I'm pretty sure the last 8 years for you, since we had an African American president, were pretty shitty. So, we obviously aren't talking about that.

So again, what years are we talking about? To happen again, something did have to happen initially, no?

Do you even know?
1554  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trumps Travel Ban? (Round 2) on: March 22, 2017, 11:22:00 PM
Trump may have a made a mistake by doing things openly.

He could have ordered an unofficial travel ban as well. Visas for Syrians or Somalis have only been delivered on a case-by-case basis for years. Trump could have discreetly ordered to make the scanning process even more rigorous, actually blocking all demands, and nobody would have noticed.

Why should he do something like that? He is the president of the United States, and he is having the liberty to change and modify the policies regarding immigration. It is the judges who are overstepping their jurisdiction.

This is correct, but Trump must wait until Gorsuch is confirmed for the Supreme Court, and then go with a broad question to them:

Can circuit court judges trump an executive order of Trump?

If the question is not posed broadly, then these renegade judges can go time and time again, over ruling a President.

With Gorsuch confirmed and the Court then 5-4 instead of 4-4 as is current, then a decision can be rendered that solves this matter once and for all.

Notice they have largely left the challenges alone. After Gorush makes it in, suddenly, it will get appealed to the highest court in the land. I'm curious to see what else gets pushed to the court once makes it in (its pretty much inevitable at this point).

I'm curious.  You have a fairly opposite political view than I do.  Should any circuit court judge be capable of squashing a POTUS executive order?

Before answering, consider that POTUS can and will flip from one party to the other.

Of course they should. I could give a fuck if they were Green Party, it matters not. The executive order byoasses Congressional oversight, hence it should be subject to additional legislative scrutiny to compensate for this, and ensure no abuse of power. The parties all suck in their current iterations. Sponsorship must be removed from politics before this ameliorates. I want what is moral and right, with an emphasis on harm mitigation for all involved parties.

And, it really is unconstitutional as fuck, and pretty dumb to boot. Please explain to me how a ban of countries that don't terrorize us specifically is going to help our security. If Saudi Arabia had made it on the list, I wouldn't be typing this. Oh, and the passage giving Christians preferential treatment for refugee status. I'm Christian myself, and even I can see the problem with that.

Really?  Legislative oversight for a EO?

Regardless, legislative oversight here is substituted by Judicial oversight.  So my question remains.

Think about it.  Any of many judges, each with their own perverse ideas or dogmatic political ideas, whatever, should be able to over ride the President?

use empathy and ask yourself the same question. If Obama had used an  executive order to legalize abortion, would you want that to be irreversible? So to answer your question again, yes, a circuit court should be able to squash a POTUS executive order.
No piece of legislation should be permanent. People are imperfect and times change.

And, you know, Trumps shit was unconstitutional, there is that.

Not in its entirety, but yes, I actually have read the commentary. But I am far from an expert. Are you?

You sound angry man.

Please don't underestimate my intelligence, I respect yours. Priori statements by Trump associates fucked this for Trump, yes, I believe that statements of intent (is this is a Muslim ban) should reflect in judgements, as this applies to all other citizens (if I make ridiculous public statements concerning the civil issue at hand, of course it would effect judgement). Calling something a Muslim ban is a clear violation of freedom of religion. The primary fucking amendment. Your were saying, originalist? And I am merely illustrating the constitutional argument. We won't address the preference of religion, and lack of legal process denied citizens.

No crisis here. Your boy did a dumbass thing, and got called on it.

If the system was so broken, with all 178 judges, why has it only failed now, during a Trump  Presidency?

Your move.

And no more diirect ad hominems. Attack my ideas, not me. But, this is fun, I don't have a ton of fucks to give, and they pay me for it.

Edit: oh, I mispoke earlier, meant judicial when I said legislative. Just reread, you pointed it out for me already. Appreciated  Grin

58% of the population does not support its activities. So, rating the unpopularity of the head of government reached the highest point since he became President in January. I wonder when it will reach 100%.
How come he became the president when more than 50% is against him,how are you coming out with these sort of baseless stats. If the people really wanted him gone they would have responded when they had the chance during elections and what is the reason for crying at a later stage.

LMAO, Naw, those are real numbers bro, not fake news. Check out your hero's stats on Gallup (he got one HP back).

All us conservative, republican types welcome all you liberal, democrat types, to our country.

Before Trump was elected, during the campaign, a bunch of you liberal, democrat types swung your vote over to Trump. And, probably a few conservative, republican types swung their vote democrat.

The point is, we welcome you. You are so fun to watch with your double standard. But, hey. Canada, South America, Central America, Australia, and even Africa are all open to you. We don't really want you to go, but go ahead if you don't like freedom here.

Cool

Well, from the moderate camp, we love all you guys, but we are shocked and awed at the present state of dismay, and we need your help to get this train back on track. And I dunno, I don't think too many liberal types swung after the Comey thing. True old school Republicans only have disdain for Trump. New money, too brash. He only became useful when they realized the motivations aligned (lower corporate taxes, less regulation = more profits).

Its a well known fact that Trump is not a true republican/conservative he is a donkey in an elephant clothing, its no surprise that the elites in the Republican party were against him from the start. They always knew he was never truly one of them but luckily his message had already resonated into the hearts and mind of the people already.

It's crazy that the GOP is supporting him so soundly. Outright incompetence, international uproar and domestic unrest. Damn Obama, he was so boring compared to this... clusterfuck.

So, you obviously voted for our dear President Trump. What part of his message resonated most in your heart and mind? Lock her up, or build a wall?
