Crap...looks like I'm gonna miss this GB again.

Well there be another one?

I hate the wait times on converting USD to BTC!!!  Angry

You can use BitInstant if you don't mind the $3.95 fee! That's the only way I was able to get my 'feeyuck' cash converted to something useful in time for the last 2 sticks i added to my order. Worked like a charm though Smiley

2490  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin price not going up? on: July 05, 2013, 09:38:58 PM
BTC value has dropped 15ish% in the last week?
The person I know who knows the most about the business side of Bitcoin shared an insight with me. A significant fraction of Bitcoins are held by miners. They are long-term bullish on Bitcoins, so they hold rather than selling, essentially hoarding Bitcoins and keeping the price high. Now, ASICs are about to totally change the mining landscape. They either have to give up on mining or buy ASICs. Since they're long-term bullish on Bitcoins, they believe it makes sense to buy ASICs and invest in mining. But to do that, they need cash. So they're selling their Bitcoins to get cash to buy ASICs. This is pushing the price down. Essentially, the value in the Bitcoin economy is being sucked out by ASIC manufacturers. If this person is right, we could see low prices at least until the vast majority of miners are on 28nm ASICs.

Very compelling argument sir.

2492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Proportional Payout Pools with 5% Finder Reward on: July 04, 2013, 10:38:59 AM
I seem to be experiencing a similar problem with valid shares and current khash rate not being properly displayed from within my customer portal. I am currently throwing ~660khash at your pool...and it appears as though I have received only a single payout for 6.00memecoins at present.

*I will go ahead and let it run for another hour or two and see if any additional payouts are forthcoming.

2497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DGC][POOL][PROP][1%][EU] digitalize.bounceme.net stratum pool on: June 13, 2013, 09:50:02 PM
Like the pool.  At times the invalid share rate seems to be a bit high at times.  But for what I'm working with seems to be pulling it's weight slightly better than mining straight BTC.  May be switching one or two more of my rigs over to see if I can't just put a bit more work in with you guys (and gals).

Whoo hoo!  Nice to see some shipped BFL product being put to good use!  thought it was actually delivered customer order...was this unit purchased from a customer or some sort of dev., magazine writer, etc?

congrats nonetheless

Dr. H so we need to pull out our workers or keep them working? because im worried my 13GHash is just wasting their time...

I believe that mining is going on uninterrupted. Yes, the website is down, and I'm not sure what time it went down, but I continued to receive payouts at these times (US Pacific Time) so I know that the mining operation is ongoing:
