1581  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: MinerEU.com A2BOX 10200 USD on: June 23, 2014, 11:05:18 PM
Good looking site you have here.  I noticed you doing some sort of affiliate program...guess I'll have to register to get more details.  Seems to be a pretty popular way to try and bring in more potential business.
1582  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: A working PREDICTION MARKET! - information should have a price, but fair one on: June 23, 2014, 11:02:11 PM
We have a couple of predictions on the auction of the silk road sized coins:
For example will the lowest price of a Block be < $450?

https://www.fairlay.com/event/category/bitcoin/price/

I seriously doubt they will go for less than 5-7% above whatever current market price is.  Thinking a premium will be involved because the big buyers will know without any doubt the coins will be received.  Interesting site though. Smiley
1583  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Introducing TheBitcoinShop.co on: June 23, 2014, 10:46:39 PM
We have upgraded out servers! Everything should be 4x as fast! Enjoy! Smiley
Trying to take a quick look at it.  If this is 4X as fast I would've hate to have tried loading the old page.

*it just came up.

Very nice.  Clean and to the point.  I like it.
1584  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - innovative professional cryptocurrency cloud mining service on: June 23, 2014, 10:30:41 PM
lol...boy I guess I just picked the wrong time to try out this pool's sha256 situation.  Talk about bad timing.  I'll give it another go this evening seeing as how it looks like everything is back up!
1585  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is BitCoin faucets really worth the time? on: June 23, 2014, 08:42:12 PM
The short answer is no.  With the wealth of ad-signature campaigns going on right now on bitcointalk is by far a better payoff.
1586  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: im new on: June 23, 2014, 08:38:29 PM
Welcome to the bitcoin community.  Aforementioned link suggestions are all good.  Would like to add Coindesk for good daily summary of goings ons in bitcoin ecosystem.

1587  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: June 23, 2014, 08:29:50 PM
Given the amount of potential growth between the two I think I will stick with bitcoin thank you very much.
1588  Bitcoin / Press / Re: yesbitcoin: Plans to Make Bitcoin a Household Name - Thoughts? on: June 23, 2014, 08:12:18 PM
Great idea!  Education obviously needed.  My personal experience with people's attitudes regarding bitcoin I found very much inline with the CoinDesk article findings.  Education is always the key to dispelling fears based completely in ignorance.

Wish you all the best with your non-profit venture.
1589  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is this worth it for a new miner? on: June 23, 2014, 07:31:27 PM
I myself have a couple of S1's running.  They are highly reliable and relatively easy to setup.  What the fella above mentions is true about being "better off" just purchasing some coins if your trying to make any real money but technically speaking you could earn a couple of cent's off a usb nanofury once your grand children have children and they too get old :p

Kidding aside, without overclocking you'll earn a little over half a bit penny per day at 180GH.  ~0.0065/day, and this next difficulty jump is a big one.
1590  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Be wary buying the Antminer S3 on: June 23, 2014, 07:26:36 PM
imho the title of OP should've been 'Be wary of buying the Any Miner' with the amount of Hash being added to the network of late.
1591  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What would you do? Mine with $40k or purchase Bitcoin? on: June 23, 2014, 07:24:02 PM
Wouldn't recommend anymore than a 10/90 distribution (10% mining, 90% purchasing) at this point.  Difficulty jumps are getting pretty serious again and more than likely will be for next 6-9 months at least.  If profit is your motive mining sure ain't the answer.
1592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: June 23, 2014, 06:52:07 PM
Just got a response from Alpha-t regarding my asking for refund options.  According to the e-mail since I placed the order > 5 months ago I basically don't have any :/

Kind of curious given I made final 70% payment within the last few weeks.  Getting the feeling I won't be seeing these satoshi's again :/
1593  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-23] Canada Signs First Ever Official Law Regulating Bitcoin on: June 23, 2014, 06:45:18 PM
Slippery slope bitcoin has entered insofar as Canada is concerned.  Will be interesting to see what other "developed nations" take from this if anything.
1594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XJO] Joulecoin | SHA256 | Quick transactions | Transaction comments on: June 23, 2014, 06:36:19 PM
had just started to mine this coin today... hope it would be good  Wink
Transactions take place nice and fast but personally I'm not seeing much profit-incentive to continue mining this coin.  Will continue to do so for a few days to generate a couple of coins to sit on long term just in case it goes anywhere.

Just sent 0.01 BTC to give this a try.

*Not seeing any indication of the bit-penny I sent being shown in my accounts dashboard :/

I received it, check it now Smiley
Confirmed.  I'm seeing it now.
1598  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin Profitability? Am I wrong? on: June 23, 2014, 09:38:47 AM
Well it looks like we're on track to have a massive bump in difficulty this coming adjustment.  If those early BFL/Avalon units haven't shut off yet this will probably be the death knell (for any home users anyway).
Sure enough.  Will be shutting my square beauties down next jump.  Electric only 0.07/kw hour too :/

Oh well, maybe I'll get to turn them back on someday when bitcoin spikes again (yeah baby)

Have you done any sort of automated stress testing to test the upper thresholds for simultaneous users and trades executed at one time?

Maximum # of coins, users and trades/sec. capable of being executed on what kind of hardware type of data?
