That is a great card to mine with. Personally, I think the way to do it is to mine Ethereum with it on NiceHash and get paid in Bitcoin. That way you’re basically mining BTC with a GPU. You also get to avoid all the hassles that come with mining ETH directly, which for impatient folks can be a lot to deal with.
Ethereum can rise in price many times more than bitcoin. Nicehash has a high payout threshold for a small number of video cards. Ethereum can be received in the Polygon blockchain on some pools with a minimum commission and a minimum payout threshold.
2482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH diff bomb what can a miner do? on: August 28, 2022, 10:24:13 AM
Is still early to look for a new altcoin to mine, it is wise to wait until the mining of eth is really finished, however the earnings will decrease with other coins with etc you earn half of what you earn with eth
half? some calculators say that the profit will fall by 6-10 times. And you are an optimist Smiley

Things are about to get very ugly, many mining farm owners will feel the heat and many graphic cards will flood the market, I think this is the time we've been waiting for, I mean we the long term miners who still believe in the flickering light at the end of the tunnel, I can't wait to get cards for even cheaper rate.
A lot of rumors about the problems of video cards Rtx 3060 Ti and Rtx 3060
Everything is very simple. The problem for the Rtx 3060 Ti is hidden in the presence of defective memory modules. Hynix video memory marked H56G32CS4DX 005 does not withstand not only overclocking, but also ordinary testing. And the most annoying thing is that the manufacturer has not yet admitted his guilt for this. Accordingly, the repair of video cards falls on the shoulders of the owner. Fortunately, Chinese stores are full of Hynix video memory chips marked H56C8H24A1R S2C, which do not have a defect.

I still don't know what to mine after Ethereum.

Where can I buy pizza? I want to be in history Smiley
2485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEW EthereumPoW on: August 28, 2022, 10:04:49 AM
What will the initial DAG size be?
If there is no other news, then the size of the dag file will be unchanged.
https://minerstat.com/dag-size-calculator

My understand is, sp_ will do his own fork, not this one we're calling ETHW.

There could be more than one fork. But the ETHW future will give you the most profitable fork when Ethereum gos POS, and perhaps more bonus coins.. The future value of your Ethereum is in your private key, and not in the co founder and his team of lamers.
If I were to make a new fork of ethereum, then it should be launched immediately after the end of ethereum mining. If it is launched later, then this will cause a negative, and it is not clear what data you will use from the moment the mining ends until the day the fork starts.

At what price can you buy the RX 580s?
"prices
night 1.11 ($0.018)
day 2.11( $0.035)
I don't think prices will go down anytime soon.
"
https://miningclub.info/threads/po-kakoj-cene-mozhno-pokupat-rx-580-e.103134/

Russia, Irkutsk. I wrote you electricity prices in dollars. A used 570 8 GB graphics card can be bought in bulk for $120.
If you have such an electricity price, then the purchase will not be a mistake, but if you do not have such prices, then wait for the end of ethereum mining.
2487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: September is already here on: August 27, 2022, 01:18:11 PM
Every day, Ethereum gives miners more than $10 million, and at the best of times this reward was several times more. Which coin after the end of ethereum mining will give at least 10% of this amount? Ethereum classic gives miners about $600,000 a day.

Why not?

The Private Nordic "sentient" blockchain powered AI POW network is paying much more than $10 million a day.

AI requires other graphics cards like Tesla and more expensive hardware. And the equipment that most miners have does not fit these tasks. This topic has been discussed many times, but there are no ready-made solutions. If you have information on how to rent your video cards to them, please write.
2488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for bad ass closed casing that can cool 3080 and 3070 on: August 27, 2022, 01:09:07 PM
What's the best I can buy for RTX 3070 ti and 3080s that can suppress heat been discharged when gaming and mining, the GPUs gets less heat when I open the cover of the case I have presently but I don't want to keep the case opened because of dust in my area.
Look at reviews of Cold Case on 8-12 Video Cards. This case has airflow separation and removable dust filters. According to reviews, a very good case, but from the minuses, it takes a very long time to assemble it. Or look at analogues in your country.
2489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: #beam is future? What do you think. on: August 27, 2022, 12:59:20 PM
Miners mine approximately 57600 coins per day. At 18 cents, that's $10,400 per day. Even if the price increased by 5 times, it would be 12 times less than the profit from Ethereum Classic. I don't see the future of mining in this coin.
2490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Pardon is this sounds stupid on: August 26, 2022, 01:08:26 PM
Even 6gb vram won't be enough very soon, ETHpow will start where ETH left off so don't expect any lower DAG size, if you want to invest in any graphic cards its better to buy those with 8GB vram memory.

Before you invest in any 8gb cards you should at least see what happens with ETHPOW. It could be a big flop and could be completely dead in 3 months. Even if it’s not dead then the profits will be horrible because at current valuations of $40 a coin. It will have a very small miner reward.

I'll write some figures for reflection
Now Ethereum gives more than $10,000,000, Ethereum Classic about $600,000 in income for miners.
After the end of ethereum mining
ethereum classic will give $600,000 and new ETHPOW will give miners the same if prices don't fall. Profit falls very much, and this is a problem.

I am asking this on behalf of a friend, is 580 8gb still worth buying in 2022 for long term crypto mining? The rx580s are the cheapest around him like 150-180$ per card, what do you think pro miners?.. He said he has cheap electricity bill.
580 8gb have been mining for 3-4 years. In my country, there are a lot of offers for 150-160 dollars.
To buy these video cards, you need to carefully check this. If you want to buy them, then do it after the end of ethereum mining, when there will be much more offers and prices will be much lower. For the remaining 20-25 days of Ethereum mining, you will not get a big profit.
2493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEW EthereumPoW on: August 26, 2022, 12:37:34 PM
sp_, I remember you wrote that you will make your fork of Ethereum on the POW algorithm. Are you on the team of the new EthereumPoW fork or will you also be doing your own fork? I may not have read all of your posts, so I'm interested in getting an answer to this question.
2494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Raven vs Ergo on: August 25, 2022, 11:30:42 AM
Thank you, but I prefer not to change the bios on video cards that have been mining for more than 5 years. This leads to big problems or turning the video card into a brick.Аpparently there is already a degradation of the video chip on the video card, it does not work well during overclocking.

The Ethereum Foundation has announced it will be increasing the network’s bug bounty payouts fourfold ahead of the blockchain’s transition to proof-of-stake.

In a Wednesday blog post, the Ethereum Foundation said between Aug. 24 and Sept. 8, all “Merge-related bounties for vulnerabilities” will be quadrupled for white hats testing the network. According to the foundation, identifying “critical bugs” — those that have a high impact or likelihood of a high impact on the blockchain — will be worth up to $1 million. The bounty program also allows submissions for low, medium and high-risk bugs.

Ethereum classic hashrate is already full of asics with less than 5 gigabytes of memory. When other ASICs with more memory come here after the end of Ethereum mining, there will be no profit for video cards. The price of ETHW futures has already fallen over 50%, and when the exchanges open coin transfers, everything will end up with a big drop.

I'm following the hashrate of both coins and it's clear about the 5gb Asics changing to ETC, and there are another miners changing to ETC to delay the bomb in ETH (I don't know how many)
About ETHW we can't say anything yet because it's only futures right now, once the fork happens, people will probably dump a lot, it will be free money for some, but in the long run, maybe will hold some value.

I'm anxious to have these answers about the future of mining, somehow I think we'll have a balance
People are not considering a strong POW coin arising, and the next bull run can bring again good profits for us home/small miners

Another thing I wish (just wish ok) ETC changes dag size to 5gb to kick out Asics  Cheesy

I don't see a big drop in hash rate since the beginning of July. And these small changes will not push the end date of mining much.
https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate
And Ethereum Classic does not plan to change the size of the dag file so that this coin can be mined by more miners.

The developers say that the end of mining may occur on September 20
You have interesting calculations, but it is not known how other miners will behave. But always before the end, a lot of activity begins  Smiley And I'm too lazy to switch mining, I'll wait for the end of mining and then look for new algorithms.
2499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is there a crypto I can mine on my laptop on: August 24, 2022, 11:25:34 AM
Never a good idea to mine on a laptop. You don’t realize it but on a 9 year old laptop you can pretty much mine and the laptop can start a fire.

Laptops have bad ventilation unless they are gaming laptops. And after 9 years you got tons of dust inside your heatsink. If you mine constantly you will create lots of heat and most likely the battery can bulge and expand and explode. It’s not very wise to mine on a laptop.
9 year old really? But, it's surprising that its specs are still a lot better than most of the recent laptops now like I have which only have an intel celeron processors but even if I have that kind of specs like him, I won't ever attempt to mine any crypto with my laptop because I care about my gadgets and I know that mining a coin can only cause an overheat which will eventually damage my battery and then the other components inside it.

A pc can be more fragile to try crypto mining. Anyways, there are still lots of ways out there to obtain a crypto like faucets, bounties, and similar which can do less harm to our laptops. Why not do them instead, huh at @OP?
For 9 years, any battery will lose its relevance. On older laptops, almost all batteries were external, allowing them to be quickly changed or removed while the laptop was plugged into a power outlet. The price of such a laptop is no more than $ 100, and it does not pay off in mining.
2500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 3050 with 4G cant run, PLEASE help me on: August 24, 2022, 11:17:53 AM
If you want it to work with RVN you have to install Linux,a newbie friendly version like Ubuntu, you can check easy guides on line on how to install and run t-rex which is almost the same as in Windows, you edit your script files here (equivalent to batch files in Windows) and run the miner with ./ and the name of the miner, you need to be in the current directory to run ./ otherwise you can run an absolute path like /home/user/t-rex/start-rvn.sh for example. It is as easy as in Windows and the latest version of Ubuntu is much laptop friendly as Windows is.I guess this is your only true solution to mine with your laptop GPU and also do work with it.

As you can see from my Linux server machine latest version of Ubuntu just wants 222 MB or something like that thus leaving you 3.7 GB to mine RVN for a couple of months, after that you can mine ETC which has a lower dag size.

Any operating system with a graphical interface takes 100-200 or more megabytes of memory from the video card. Linux Mining systems do not use a graphical interface, so they use a few megabytes from the memory of the video card. Maybe it's better to use Hive OS, Raven OS or others right away?
