2521  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Telegram scam groups Alert on: June 09, 2022, 02:14:37 PM
The main aim of this post na to share these groups with my brothers so as not fall victim of all these Telegram scams, because Scammers take Telegram as their home.
Thank you for the update, i wouldn't expect anyone to fall for this, but you never know with newcomers who do not do enough verification before trusting, TG is a very dangerous space for crypto newcomers, you get added to crazy groups (that's for newcomers who are yet to counter than through their 'settings') with crazy promises, not to talk of how frequently strangers send PM's to people, all just in a bid to scam them. For many of us here we know the trick, but unsuspecting newcomers that are yet to do their research and garner sufficient knowledge fall victim every now and then, and thus learn the hard way, just like you did in the past.

Having said that, i know quite a lot of us already know this, but for our newcomers coming in everyday, if you do not want scammers to add you randomly to their scam groups, just go to settings on your TG account, click on privacy and security, click on groups and channels, and change who can add you to groups to just people in your contact list.

What do you guys think of this, will Richarlison be an addition to the Chelsea attacking lineup if Chelsea was to get him to sign a contract.
Personally i do not like Richarlison, and i can't understand how he would cost that much, all he has is an arrogant attitude that sometimes deceives people to think that he is a good player, how many goals and assist does he contribute per season to be valued at a price above 60 million pounds, that is indeed outrageous, to think City even got Haaland for cheaper than that (if you take out additional fees) is even crazier.
Arsenal are still keen on signing Gabriel Jesus but I doubt he'll choice Arsenal over Chelsea if that rumor of a bid from chelsea was to be true. Chelsea has champions league football which Arsenal don't, I doubt anybody will turn down a champion league team over an Europa and considering you're likely to win other trophy at Chelsea than Arsenal.
I don't know if Chelsea are seriously involved in the race to sign Gabriel Jesus, but i am pretty sure Jesus is not only going to be looking at CL football, even though it is very important. Firstly he wants to stay in the EPL, and both teams meet that criteria, and the next is he is searching for tons of playing time, and Arsenal i think can guarantee him more playing time than Chelsea, his relationship with Arteta is another reason why Arsenal are more of the favorites to sign him.
2523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 winner - Real Madrid! on: June 08, 2022, 10:56:08 PM

Everyone knows the history of Real Madrid and Champions league finals and yet we chose to ignore it.
We saw how Benzema was eliminating great contenders like PSG, Chelsea and Manchester City with hatrick and brace, yet we chose to overlook it.
If you're talking history, do not forget that Liverpool have have won this tournament 6 times, so they are also a team that have a history of winning the champions league multiple times, i know Real Madrid have won far more times than them, but in a final anything is possible. History do not play football, it was 22 quality players (from both sides) that did on that night, Liverpool put up the best performance they could and Madrid being the top team that they are, also gave their best, and in the end came Madrid came out on top in a good game of football, i do not see what history had to do with that.
We saw how Benzema was eliminating great contenders like PSG, Chelsea and Manchester City with hatrick and brace, yet we chose to overlook it.
Let us be honest, Madrid was very lucky to escape all three teams, they were on the brink of defeat against each of these teams, and across the 6 games (home and away) against these teams, Madrid wasn't the better team, especially against City, Madrid were lucky not to concede above 5 goals in the first leg at the Etihad, City were their own undoing. If there is something i would praise about Madrid's CL success, it is the mentality in the team and never say die attitude, after they miraculously escaped City, that was when i knew it was more or less written in the skies that they would be champions.

Wetin happen for Eagles Square last night deh shameful. See as our papa them begin worship Tinubu. E dey clear say Tinubu deh sick and not capable. Na we the citizens deh do ourselves.
It is clear that our problems are far from being solved, after listening to all the aspirants speak yesterday, to thinl that majority of the delegates elected Tinubu to represent APC in the 2023 elections is appalling, not that the margin with which he won was a tight one, it was a landslide victory. It is indeed shameful and Nigeria never ceases to disgrace herself both locally and internationally. Having said that, it is now up to the electorate, for me Peter Obi remains the most credible candidate for next year's election, but my vote is just one out of millions, so i indeed hope millions other would share my ideas too, and elect this man into power for a better Nigeria to come.

Barcelona really need to improve their squad quality and bringing Lewandowski would be a great start.
If Barcelona somehow manages to bring Lewandowski to the Camp Nou, then they can have a real chase for the La Liga title next season, i know Real Madrid are also going to do great business this summer, and they look to me like a team that is strong enough to retain their La Liga crown, but Barca still has every right to add to the quality in their team and try to take the La Liga title back from Real, it is going to be pretty difficult, but they must put themselves in a very strong position through making good signings. It seems Lewy and Bayern are having some sort of internal crisis, so it is more or less certain he is going to leave, based on rumors Barcelona is his choice, so let them do all they can to get the man.

and according to concurring italian media reports, Nemanja Matic (manchester united) is on the verge of signing with roma, where the midfielder would once again meet José Mourinho. in the room is a two-year contract and an annual salary of over €3 million
That is a good move for Matic, if i remember correctly, Mourinho is a huge admirer of Matic and he usually used him to do most of the dirty work in midfield when the pair were together in England. Matic is big and strong, so he would have no problems adapting to the Italian Seria A, i know PSG seem to be interested in Jose Mourinho, but if he manages to stay in Roma, then they could have a very good next season, a much better one than last season (not that last season was bad for them anyway).
Either you believe propaganda or actually watch Maguire play, Maguire is Manchester United best defender since he arrived at the Club. Hating on him because he is not a likable type does not change any fact.
Are you being serious, or you are just joking, not that Manchester United even have any good defenders to start with, but it is pretty funny to call Maguire their best defender, i would rather say they have got really terrible defenders, but Maguire 'tops' them all (in playing terribly).
2527  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Central Bank Digital Currencies Kill Cryptocurrencies ? on: June 07, 2022, 06:50:26 PM
We have been talking about this for a very long time now, actually i think one of the reason behind some countries launching CBDC's is their misconception of trying to compete with Bitcoin, or trying to convince their citizens to use the state issued digital currencies rather than Bitcoin, another reason would of course be competition amongst nations in terms of following the latest trend, but that is by the way.

Having said that, these countries are actually getting it wrong issuing/creating/launching CBDC's with Bitcoin at the back of their minds, they forget that theirs is centralized and issued by them, theirs will function like their fiat currencies and would be manipulated by the government. Bitcoin is none of that, it is decentralized, deflationary and not issued by any central authority. The thing is this, while quite a lot of us are knowledgeable about all of these, there are masses out there that are not, and the government are good in spreading their propaganda about Bitcoin and promoting their CBDC on the other hand, this can definitely deceive people who do not have so much knowledge.
2528  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason Why People(Mostly Newbies) Fall Victim To Scams Easily. on: June 07, 2022, 05:24:14 PM
if you cant be patient and learn how to trade, bear some loses until you are good enough to start making consistent profit, then crypto trading might not be for you.
It does not matter how long, or how many years you are patient and learn how to trade, the possibility of making consistent profit is wholly slim, and can even be said to be improbable, trading is somewhat risky business, and it does not matter how much knowledge you have, you can lose a lot of money in a very short time, and you making profits consistently is never guaranteed or even feasible.

I would just advise people to be themselves, do not jump into things cause of either FUD or FOMO, there is quite a lot of thing you should even know about Bitcoin before either speculating or trading, people take all of these for granted, you can't jump the process and not expect to run into problems sooner rather than later. It is also important that as you talk to people about Bitcoin, you do your very best to also tell them that it is money/currency, and can be used for making purchases.
2529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let's talk about your next crypto portfolio for 2025 on: June 07, 2022, 05:02:35 PM
When is a good time to start buying altcoins? Is bitcoin ever going to 25,000$ in the coming weeks? How do you plan to start building your portfolio for the next bull market? Is now a good time to start buying?.
With altcoins you never know what to expect, personally i do not think Bitcoin is prolly going below 25k, not that it matters too much if it does, because if it actually goes below that amount then you have the opportunity to accumulate Bitcoin at a cheaper price than normal. To answer your question, i am only building my portfolio with Bitcoins for now, i do not really trust altcoins as long term projects, and i am a long term investor, thus Bitcoin is the most suitable project for me right now. If you want to speculate with altcoins you must be very careful, a lot could go wrong very quickly. No matter what you do, do not hodl altcoins for the long period, sell them in the short term and take the profit you can get, altcoins are short term projects and most of them are not sustainable for the long period.
2530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: June 07, 2022, 04:53:37 PM
The only hope is that a lot of their strength has been multiple very skilful, agile players up front, swapping positions & playing intricate football. Maybe they lose a bit of that with Haaland as he’s all about strength, power & pace. Most teams defend very deep against City so maybe Haaland can’t be as effective as he was in Germany, i.e. no space to run into as lots of parked buses.
Now that Haaland is at the Etihad, his style of play is definitely going to slightly change to the City style, Pep is very good at doing that, getting players to play how he and his team demands, and Haaland is going to be no exception, he (Haaland) was all about power in the bundesliga because of the team he played for then, i am not saying Dortmund is not a fantastic team, but City are miles better than them, with the quality in this City side you can bet Haaland is going to score lots and lots of goals.

Balls are going to be worked perfectly and put on the plate for him to just finish, with the likes of KDB, Mahrez, Foden, Silva, Cancelo, etc all behind him, the dude is gonna enjoy his time with opposition defense i am pretty sure; when i look back at last season, and replay some games in my head when City should have blown the team away, Madrid first leg for example, but at the crucial time, the cutting edge was lacking, with Haaland here now, the Etihad club would be more decisive in such games than previously; what is left to achieve is the CL, and they would start the competition as top favorites again, i just hope the mentality is there this time around to get across the line.

However, I don't think there will be any improvement in their performance until Manchester United change their coaches.
Haven't they already done that, Manchester United have signed Erik, and he also going to work with his team of assistants, so the issue of getting the right coach can be put on hold, at least till we assess Erik's performace mid and end of the season; i just hope he actually lives up to expectation, cause quite a lot of Manchester United fans are already optimistic for next season following the arrival of their new manager, and they would be absolutely disappointed if their performances do not improve come the start of the new season.

where will the arsenal end up next season? they are not investing like tottenham or manchester united or aston villa or newcastle, maybe arsenal doesn't even get to 8th position
Don't jump into conclusions mate, for example Manchester United have been investing heavily in the last couple of years with nothing really to show for it, just from one poor performance/season to the other, Aston Villa and some of the other teams you metioned are not even as good as Arsenal. Arteta and his boys were brilliant last season, and only unluckly to miss out of on CL football next season, i expect Arsenal to continue improving, and i am very sure they will, a top four finish is very possible for Arsenal next season.

What to do to be a proper bounty manager. big brother answer give me ..
I want to run bounty work honestly. Will work like BoSS.
While i am not trying to discourage you, for now, it is much better you try out other Bitcoin or forum related things, like garnering Bitcoin knowledge, engaging in 'real' discussions in diverse sections of the forum, and most importantly try to better your reputation on the forum, i see you have been tagged for merit begging/bounty cheating, that is more or less what you get when you make bounties your sole purpose on the forum.

I am afraid with the kind of reputation you have, no company will hire you as a manager for their project, except only scam bounties, which will only put you into further problems in the forum, and could completely ruin your account. Learn about Bitcoin, ask questions as you seek knowledge too, the forum/Bitcoin are too very interesting phenomenon, and you will love it if you focus on doing more with this opportunity Bitcoin offers enthusiasts like ourselves.
2534  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 06, 2022, 07:16:24 PM
June hasn't actually started any badly, has it, thus i expect us to finish as strongly as the month has started, lol, not too high though, but something within the range of 35k, or maybe even higher, who knows. But i just have this hunch that we wouldn't be going too down this month, or maybe even for the rest of the year. Bitcoin is still at a good price to accumulate more Cool, not that there is ever a bad time to purchase some Bitcoins anyway.

27k-28k looks to me like the "lowest of the lows" we can get this year, that is what i think.
2535  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto scam increasing on social media on: June 06, 2022, 05:44:16 PM
The funniest to me is that scam is not new on social media, but it is becoming commoner and the scam on social media regard crypto is increasing, definitely all other scam are increasing on social media. When social media is not a place of privacy, why not require for ID documents for better KYC procedure than focusing most only on exchanges
Social media users can't be expected to fulfil stringent KYC protocols before creating an account on a social media platform, similar to procedures required when creating an exchange account. Social media platforms are by design for interaction between people, and not necessarily a high-risk platform for trade/where money can be lost, i know quite a lot go on in our social media today, but that isn't its purpose, it is just that, as people interact with one another, there is also a high chance they would talk to a scammer sooner or later, and if they are not shrewd, they would lose funds to that person, but as a result of their own folly.

An Exchange is an area of trade, it is a platform where quite a lot of money goes in and out of, it is only necessary that KYC and AML policies and stamped in such platforms, it is by design a high-risk space where people can lose funds/get scammed. Social media doesn't really need these, people need to just get less greedy and actually think before attempting to make some fast money for themselves.

There are some interesting rumours about Gabriel Jesus now. It is said that Arsenal are prepared to pay £190,000 per week to him to bring him this summer. It means that he will earn £100,000 more weekly. It would be a very favorable deal for Gabriel Jesus I assume. After Erling Haaland's coming here, Gabriel Jesus won't be able to have much chance in the end. It would be the best for him to leave and join a team that he can play in the starting eleven regularly. Arsenal are one of the best choices for him because of that.
I am pretty sure things are so clear to Gabriel, he understands that Pep might still want him in the club, but sufficient playing time is anything but guaranteed, i know Pep doesn't guarantee any of his players a starting position in the team, as you'd have to work hard to show you really deserve to start. But in the case of Gabriel, he would be competing/fighting for his place with two wonderful attacking options in Haaland and Alvarez, i'm afraid it is not a 'fight' i think Gabriel can win. Arsenal are a good option, he gets to stay in the EPL, and work with a manager that he is familiar with in Arteta, it is good for both parties, the only issue would be City's asking price, i sincerely hope it is something that Arsenal will be willing to pay.

It is really sad to say the least, right after watching the video i just can't stop putting myself in the shoes of the victims, it could have been me, or anyone else, their only crime is that they are Nigerians and that they decided to go to the place of worship on a Sunday. The truth be say time don come wey we as Nigerians suppose take the bull by the horn, we no fit let this bad leadership of a thing continue, insecurity na one of our biggest challenge as a country now, yet our president no even care, he doesn't even seem to understand the sufferings of his people. Tinubu wan come rule, abi na Atiku or Osinbajo, and people go they talk say make we face "reality", we are tired of facing reality, we must vote credibility this time around, and Peter Obi is the most credible candidate, if Peter Obi no win 2023 election, the suffering wey we dy experience now fit be child's play to wetin they for front they wait for us.
2538  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin thrives on education and self-sovereignty on: June 05, 2022, 06:58:49 PM
And Bitcoin is not the get rich quick scheme some new investors are hoping for.
Quite a lot of people take Bitcoin to be so, they basically want to invest in it, make profits and that's that, but Bitcoin is quite different from altcoins that are short term projects, if investors are looking for get rich quick schemes, then i am afraid they must look in the direction of altcoins. As many investors that want to speculate with the price of Bitcoin must understand that Bitcoin is a long term project, and speculators will more or less make profits in the long run, not quickly.

Having said that, in as much as i do not really think we should be telling people how to use their Bitcoins, more people need to understand that Bitcoin is also money that can be used for making purchases in places that it is accepted, for now Bitcoin as a payment method is not all that popular, but somewhere along the line on the road to adoption it would be, thus for users who are privy to have places around them where they can spend Bitcoin for commodities and who do not mind at all, they can try to do so once in a while, to actually get that feeling of using your Bitcoin as actual money.
2539  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: June 05, 2022, 12:12:42 PM
According to them, Nigeria might someday consider BTC as a form of payment, but it would never replace the Naira. They added that using it as Naira would contravene the constitutional purview of the CBN.
I do not really get their point here bro, if we (Nigeria) are ever going to make Bitcoin a legal tender here, it doesn't mean that it is then going to replace the Naira. Take eye look the two countries wey don make Bitcoin Legal tender, e no mean say bitcoin come turn to their number one currency na, or say e replace their fiat currency, na alternative wey bitcoin still be, just that the government come make am Legally acceptable for their country. All this one be like excuse for my eye oh, abi them no really understand wetin them they talk. Bitcoin is never going to replace the fiat currency of any country, the naira inclusive. What do they even mean by "using it as naira...", It can't be used as naira in the first place, they are two different types of currency, one physical and issued by the central government, the other, Bitcoin isn't physical, is decentralized, and issued by no central authority but the proof-of-work algorithm (mining), so they definitely can't be used alike.
2540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LUNA 2.0 can Recover previous price? on: June 05, 2022, 11:29:54 AM
Can LUNA return to its previous position? Can it reach up to $100 again? And how reasonable it is to invest in LUNA now?
I would categorically state no, anyone still investing in this project does so at his or her own risk, isn't it pretty obvious that all of these attempt by the Luna team to try and save the coin is going to be more or less futile/fruitless. Investors on this project would be considerably low at the moment, for obvious reasons actually, thus how is the coin going to pump/rise again when demand is going to be at its lowest.

Having said that, people should understand that the root of the problem is not just Luna, but altcoins, and what happened to Luna could and in the future can happen to any altcoin, majority of altcoins are short term/pump and dump coins that have no real utility, other than hype and fake promises backing them up, sooner or later such coins are bound to lose their hype and dump out of the market. The thing is, investors should never forget to take altcoins as short term projects, meaning once you make profits, you pull out, do not hold, doing so would only accrue you losses in the long run.
