2521  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Before Bitcoin education, teach your children cyber security education. on: June 01, 2022, 06:05:37 PM
After few days, my children told me how they had informed their friends that I own Bitcoin and have “plenty dollars”. And my children advised these friends to tell their parents so that they can earn dollars.
That ricocheted back at you pretty quick, sometimes this is actually almost inevitable, whether you told your children about Bitcoin or not, whenever you are living a good life and taking very good care of your family, the little kids tend to talk to their friends about it in school, about how their dad did X and Y for them, so if you did mention Bitcoin to them, chances are very high they would spill the bean. Well the case of Bitcoin is only somewhat different because of the misconception people have when they see a Bitcoin speculator, hodler or user, the immediate thought is that the person is rich and who knows what that could lead to.

Having said that, i have the advantage of learning from all you guys about the best action to take on this matter as i am yet to have kids, i will very soon anyway. But for now i think the con of introducing kids to Bitcoin pretty early outweighs the pro, so i might just teach them about other things and leave Bitcoin for last.

I think Liverpool will make a mistake if they let Mane go to Bayern, the fans will feel very sad if Mane leaves Liverpool because they think Mane still has the ability to achieve more achievements in the next season with Liverpool and also Mane is loved by the fans.  Liverpool fans, except for Mane asking to be sold because the news of a rift with Salah after the world cup qualifying match some time ago is true.
Of course the Liverpool fans wholly adore Mane, and quite a lot of them would go a long way to ensure he remains in the club, but it is what it is, and it is not up to them. From how the situation is panning out, it seems it is actually Mane that wants to leave the team, though i do not think it is because of any rift with Salah, i feel Mane wants to leave cause he wants to get another experience in another team and in a different league, that reason is understandable. And when a player like Mane who has given his all for the club approaches the board with the desire to leave, there is no way they can try to hold him back, except if the clubs seeking his signature do not come with the asking price.
Sterling is a player whose price is still quite high at the moment, his contract expires next season but his market price is still €85. I don't know if he's really wanted by Real Madrid, but I don't think Sterling would be a good fit for Real Madrid. But anyway if Real Madrid are really interested in him then I think Manchester City will be willing to let him go if they get a reasonable offer.
I have this feeling that Sterling is not in Pep's plan for next season, i could be completely wrong with my assumptions, but with the imminent arrival of Erling Haaland and Alvarez, i think there is going to be a slight change in the way City set up for next season, and that could further reduce Sterling's playing time the more; thus i feel City will be more than willing to let him go, of course for the right price, he would be great for Real Madrid in my opinion, he is very fast and would be able to operate effectively for them on the right wing, while Vinicius causes problems from the left.
2523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 31, 2022, 07:03:50 PM
This is the best time for Manchester United to make some amends that will help them perform better in the next season, the club need new player signings and transfers that will restructure the club for better position in the next season.
I second that, Manchester United have struggled in the last couple of years, and i am pretty sure the United board know it should continue that way no longer, a lot has to be done, they have signed a good manager, but that is only a part of the job to be done, now they must work on the team, let go of players that aren't worthy of being a United player, get some new talents, build the believe and will to win back in the players and go for it next season. I know United can't win the EPL next season, but they must make efforts to compete, and that is what is expected of big clubs, they have to compete for every title they play in next season, they didn't compete at all last season, they were more or less like whipping boys.

Personally sha, I believe say one day kontri go better.
I believe so too. But for it to be better we the citizens must take action, we must exercise our rights to vote, and if we actually want things to be better we must vote for that candidate that is most credible, i know there cannot be any general consensus as to which candidate is prolly the best, but personally if you indeed know that candidate that will work better than others then vote for him, do not vote for candidates on the basis of party, bias, religion, ethnicity, or cause you were told to face 'reality', or cause you were bribed, etc, it is hightime Nigerians did what it right, if we miss this chance then another four years of suffering awaits us.
2525  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No such thing as Too Big to Fail on: May 31, 2022, 06:03:50 PM
Nothing is too big to fail in crypto world, Terra Luna is a big example that the safety of your money isn't guaranteed even if you invest in top altcoins out there, it's the same risk involve with crypto generally including BTC but BTC is just way safer...
Generally when you invest in crypto, it comes with its own fair share of risks, and of course not just crypto, every investment option has its advantages and disadvantages, but investing in altcoins is quite different from putting your money in Bitcoin. Altcoins are pump and dump projects, short term 'stuffs' that sooner or later will dump, it was Luna a couple of weeks ago, mind you that the problem isn't solely with Luna, as it can be any altcoin next.

Bitcoin on the other hand can plunge/correct in price, but it is a coin that has an actual utility in our society today, that is something most, if not all altcoins can't boast of, thus a coin that has an actual utility can't dump and stay down permanently, it would definitely rise back up again, and history is in its favor as regards that.

...say make we forget credibility as Nigeria dey far from that...
Na this kind talk wey Nigerians they talk wey go make am impossible for this country to better in a very long time, look well well everybody wan japa, wetin cause am, talk like this during crucial time to make decision wey go make country na im cause am, the one wey they burst my head pass na when you they follow Nigerians talk politics, them go tell you say "we sabi say this candidate na the best oh, but make we face reality", abeg i wan ask ehn, which reality worst pass wetin we they experience for Nigeria now, which reality worst pass the hunger, insecurity, unemployment, suffering, etc wey Nigerians they go through now, abeg make una tell me.

If Nigerians never wise up and take decision into their hands through voting the most credible candidate, then na another 8 years wey go worst pass Buhari own they come so, na make all man dy find way to japa be that, until Nigerians stop to they face this their yeye 'reality', na so so suffer go continue for the country oh.
2527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 30, 2022, 07:43:01 PM
According to report,  Chelsea are probably intention of signing Ousemane Dembele. Although Liverpool are also interested in the Frenchman, he is really in a tight position because he is yet to renew his contract with Barcelona. Dembele is in Boehly's plan for the future of the team. Perhaps he is not a starter in the catalans club and only recorded 1 goal, 13 assists in 21games for the team. He barely starts game for Xavi's side, and it's one of the reasons he needs to move to a new team.
Ousmane Dembele wasn't starting games for Barcelona at that start of last season cause he had quite a lot of problems with the club then, he also struggled with recurrent injuries at one time too, as a matter of fact it was almost certain that he was on his way out of the club during the January transfer window, but he managed to stay one way or another.

Afterwards he has been in scintilating form for Barcelona, down till the curtain was drawn on last season, i am pretty sure he is in Xavi's plan for next season, that doesn't mean he can't be sold though, because it is of course down to the player if he wants to stay or leave, and if Dembele decides to go, Barca will definitely sell him for the right price, he would be good for Chelsea by the way, as they look to make useful additions to their squad for next season after a disappointing end to last season.
2528  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learning from the dip on: May 30, 2022, 07:26:51 PM
1. Avoid falling prey to FOMO: Almost every investors see a bearish market as a means of entering the market. In dip period like this, everyone will love to buy and keep. Most go any length to get money to buy from this dip out of the fear of missing out. This make some to borrow money to invest which can be risky.
While borrowing money to invest in crypto is somewhat of a 'crime' nobody should think of, if you are accumulating Bitcoin in this dip (of course with your own money), you are doing absolutely nothing wrong, whether you are doing it out of fear of missing out or whatever, the only thing to note is that you should never expect quick returns, or hope to jump on sudden wealth, that is not going to happen, grow a Bitcoin porfolio, it doesn't matter the pace at which you do it, you are actually not supposed to even go in all at once, that would be investing more than you can afford to lose. DCA works perfectly, you can buy slowly but surely and hodl for the long term.
Latest case happens to LUNA, when Luna down, people trying to buy, they are thinking if LUNA price will be back soon. In the end, they are loss a lot of money.
Luna has been in the news for a couple of weeks now (for obvious reasons), what happened to Luna can happen to any altcoin/shitcoin, and that is what investors fail to understand, sooner rather than later another altcoin is going to come on scene, create some hype while investors start putting their money there, after a while it crashes just like Luna did, rinse and repeat; investors need to understand that the problem isn't with Luna, but it is that most altcoins have no actual utility, and as such you can't expect them not to dump.
2529  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Approaches That make Losing Become a Constant event on: May 30, 2022, 07:02:19 PM
It is safe to say newcomers should only invest in Bitcoin, let us be honest, it is best for them, Bitcoin is not going to dump on you and not rise again, but quite a lot of altcoins would do that to you, altcoins are short term projects that you must have to time to perfection so you can pull out at the right time, newbies 9/10 will prolly get this timing wrong and lose their funds, with Bitcoin all they have to do is to choose the Dollar Cost Averaging strategy, grow a Bitcoin portfolio from scratch and hodl well for the long run, they would definitely make profits.

I know quite a lot of people call it diversification, investing in Bitcoin and other altcoins, some call it not putting your eggs in one basket, all of that is wrong, and investing in two intrinsically similar things is wrong (or at least cannot be called diversification), if you want to diversify, then buy Bitcoin as your crptocurrency investment, then look outside the crypto market to diversify, there is real estate, you can buy gold, stocks, you can invest in short-term government bond funds, etc, then only are you truly diversifying.

Make we dey wait on APC primaries but i no go surprise if na Bola Tinubu emerge, i mean e go be disrespectful to him political career say party wey him start go give another person ticket wey no be am. Peter Obi na third force and e go hard am to emerge as winner, anyhow sha i just dey wish anyone wey go enter go better pass buhari and dey industrious. dis na just personal opinion.
I dy expect baba Tinubu to win am (na primaries i they talk about oh), i no want make e win am oh, but e get as Naija be, and the man strong for APC wella, Osinbajo na strong opponent too sha, and na him be incumbent vice president, so e suppose sabi as things dy go for the party. If Tinubu no win, i dy feel so e fit join another party contest, e go just dump APC, carry vex join body for another party run for president, i no know if Osinbajo go do like that if e lose, cause e no dy do like person wey power dy hungry too much. But Tinubu eyes dy red, e wan be president for this his lifetime before e go rest, i hope say that one no go happen.

As for Peter Obi, i believe say Naija eye go don open small and this election no go dy like the ones wey dy happen for past, Naija people don suppose understand say if we continue to they vote for party then nothing good go fit come, we suppose focus on the individual wey we feel say get the swag to take rule us well well, if you ask me Peter Obi na that man oh, and e suppose get strong chance come 2023, na just this one wey e no dy contest under one of the two major parties, and Naija people na party them they like vote for, but make we buy popcorn sit down see as things go pan out, and also grap your PVC oh, e dy very important.
2531  Other / Meta / Re: Why do these accounts have the right to wear a clickable signature on the forum? on: May 30, 2022, 03:50:09 PM
If you create rules for admission to your companies for participants who have earned more than 10 merits within three or six months,
That (campaign) rule already exists in most, if not all of the signature campaigns on the forum, such rules are established by the managers of signature campaigns cause most of them are reputable members of our community, and they want to make sure that spammers do not earn through campaigns run by them. But what of the situation of the bounty campaigns, or scam related signature campaigns, the managers of these kind of campaigns do not care, their managers are more often than not newbies, or users that haven't earned any merits themselves in a long while/ever, tagging them doesn't even make any difference to them, they still go about their business unscathed.

The only way what you say can be wholly adhered to is if it is made a forum rule, and not a 'voluntary' campaign rule, but that is never going to happen, the forum doesn't even have an "official" rule on more salient issues.
2532  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: May 30, 2022, 03:21:47 PM
After last month's increase of activity, we are back to the decrease...
Thank you for this overview Rikafip. Sadly the decrease is also evident in my local 'thread' (Nigerian local thread), from last months review we had around 348 post activity on our local thread, but we are down to 209 this month, that is a large decrease of around 139 post from last month; i really can't state the reason why, we had a couple of public holidays in our country this month, lol, so prolly users were rather spending time with their families than posting on the forum Grin, or maybe it was just as a result of the reduction of the number of active users on our local thread, from 34 (last month) to 29 (this month).

Whichever is the reason, i sincerely hope the thread is more active for the month of June, as we seek to get our official local board, low activity is the last thing we want in our local thread (i myself also have to do better too  Cool). Good report once again mate.
2533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 29, 2022, 11:19:04 PM
Hopefully Tottenham can give the same surprise in the Champions League next season, especially now that Tottenham are coached by Antonio Conte, who I admit is a great and experienced coach.
I am afraid that sort of surprise is not going to happen again, not in a long time, and at least not next season. I have this feeling that next season's CL is going to be extremely competitive, and all of the 'elite' clubs are really going to push hard for the title, i cannot see any chance for Spurs. Antonio Conte is a great manager no doubt about that, but he will still need quite a lot of time to take this Spurs side to the later stages of the CL. My team to watch out for in next season's CL is Barcelona, i am not saying they are going to win it (absolutely not), but i am looking forward to their return after a short stint in the EL, it is going to be fun to see them back.
2534  Economy / Reputation / Re: When usernames with explicit nick appeared the same time on: May 29, 2022, 10:52:01 PM
This is far from a coincidence.
Far from it, but i don't think they can get into any trouble for the wording of their usernames or what it means, it does not explicitly relate to any user here or any person in real life, so who cares. They are also prolly alts, but still that is not against the rules of the forum, they can decide to register as many accounts as they like, the merit system handles that issue perfectly. The only problem at first sight seems to be spam/low quality post, their new topics seem to be locked now, i don't know if it was done by a moderator or the OP. Well their issue is nothing to lose sleep over, if they continue to spam then the mods will take care of them.
2535  Economy / Economics / Re: Enticing customers to make payment with crypto. on: May 29, 2022, 08:50:21 PM
Of what benefit will it be to you and your business, tbh, your sole aim as a business man/woman is to make profit, irrespective of whatever currency you are paid in, if your customers only want to pay in fiat, then accept payment only in fiat. However, to support Bitcoin adoption you can add an alternative payment method through crypto/Bitcoin but there is no need to try to allure people to use it in such a way that you prolly might run at a loss in the long run, just make the option available and people who fancy it will use it. Discounts and free gifts are for big businesses that have stood the test of times, if your business is nothing like that i think you should forget the idea.
2536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 29, 2022, 07:09:32 PM
Yes, Liverpool's game was very good, even statistically they put a lot of pressure on Real Madrid, but Courtois' strength under the bar made many of Liverpool's chances of scoring goals disappear.  I can't imagine if the Real Madrid goalkeeper wasn't Courtois.  Liverpool are really unlucky!
Why would you imagine such, of course goalkeepers are part of a team and the exceptional ones do their job when they are called upon, i cannot understand people moaning that Courtois was the reason Madrid won, making it sound like negative stuff, even klopp said when the goalkeeper is the man of the match, then you know something was going wrong with the team, i really do not understand statements such as that, there have been times in the past were Alisson put up man of the match performances and he was praised by Klopp, why can't people just praise Courtois and move on.

Madrid played a good game, they were tactically strong and their midfielders were confident on the ball, their goalkeeper and defenders were very strong too and they got the all important goal, thus the victory was well deserved in my opinion.
2537  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What would you do if you are me on: May 29, 2022, 04:07:47 PM
If i were you i would definitely not leave my funds on that PC, hot wallets are pretty risky even with an antivirus, remember that even with an active antivirus, all it takes is one mistake/folly from you and the purpose why the antivirus is there becomes useless, causing you to lose your funds. Mind you also that the chances of this happening when you have your funds in a hot wallet is high. Just move your funds to a cold storage, then you can now use your PC for your work, plus with your antivirus and religiously following other safety measures too.
2538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 29, 2022, 02:37:38 PM
Liverpool's achievement in the Premier League was not bad. They are only 1 point adrift of Man City, which means that in terms of performance they have not lost to the Premier League champions this season, it's just that 1 point gives different results for both teams.
I don't get it how since last night quite a lot of people have been trying to make a case for Liverpool, even to the extent of calling them the best team in Europe this season, as Owen said yesterday, that is completely wrong, you can talk about their fantastic run in all competitions, but what trophies do they have to show for it, they lost out on the league to City, but your post above almost seems like Liverpool are the EPL champions, i really do not get it, whether it is 1 point or goal difference, or whatever, a winner did emerge and it was City, not Liverpool.

Liverpool had a great run in all competitions quite alright, but you can't say a team that won the Carabao and FA cup had a fantastic or brilliant season, the two cups aren't major trophies, and the manner in which they even won it, without scoring a goal and in penalty shootouts on both occasions does not really resonate the brilliance people are talking about, they failed to win a major trophy this season and it is disappointing, no matter how the media try to make it look or seem otherwise.
2539  Economy / Reputation / Re: Any Rules for Bounty Manager? on: May 29, 2022, 09:50:27 AM
These all suggestion are only to strong the bitcointalk community and bring more trust in this forum. Every person has his own views.
Campaigns, be it bounty or signature are not moderated by the forum, the admin is never going to lay down rules on what should be and what shouldn't be as regards campaigns and indeed quite a lot of things on the forum as well, any user of any rank is free to run campaigns (i am not saying it is good), but it is what it is, campaign participants have it as their own duty to check all about a campaign before deciding to join, once they make the decision to join, they somewhat take responsibility for whatever outcome in the end.

Having said that, in the end all what the forum can do through default trust is to give negative feedbacks to cheaters, either bounty managers that are proven scammers, or participants that cheat, that is as far as it can go, sadly it would in the end not change the outcome of the campaign or make up for lost time and effort. As for spelling/noting down rules for companies, on who to hire or who not to, it is not going to happen. There are quite a lot of reputable managers in the forum, maybe the only solution is to basically join only campaigns run by them.
2540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Terra Luna Classic and Terra Luna 2.0 on: May 29, 2022, 09:24:11 AM
I am afraid all of these will yield nothing, Luna is just one of those classic pump and dump coins, and quite a lot of such coins have come and gone down the years, and that is exactly what is happening to Luna right now, the efforts at recovery is seen, but sorry it will end up being futile, and sooner or later Luna will be forgotten. The funny part of all of these is that another similar coin is going to spring up yet again, pretty soon, investors and novices as well will buy and cause hype, then the coin crashes again, and people lose so much money to it, rinse and repeat, investors do not just learn, they want to make quick money, forgetting they can't be lucky all the time.
