2521  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: [blockchain.com] Restoring Account Failed, does anyone know why? on: March 14, 2023, 02:54:28 PM
Maybe this procedure is limited to one attempt per 24 hours per IP address - or maybe you should clear the cookies/cache from your browser and try again. The good news is that you can recover your wallet with the help of a desktop wallet, and people use Electrum most often. What is important is that you download the Electrum file from the official website, and in order to be completely sure of its credibility, it would be good to do a verification as well.

2522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biden on Brink of 2nd US Bank Bailout on: March 14, 2023, 11:59:07 AM
but why

that's a rational question

anyone who lost their money can and will behave as irrationally as they please, and anyone in media/politics/banking who feels like it will take advantage of the situation, and instigate a "pile on"

I was hoping they wouldn't go in that direction again, but it seems Bitcoin is to blame for everything bad that happened from 2009 to now. Geniuses from the IMF have already spoken.

There is a long list of POTUS they need to call out starting from Clinton and Nixon or at the very least from Bush who single handedly gave a dumb order that is the reason why US wasted $10 trillion (a little less than a third of US current national debt) over the past 20 years. Cheesy

This is true, which is only proof that the people at the top change, but the policy remains largely the same. They all seem to think that they can create debt forever, because someone else is going to pay for it anyway. $10 trillion less or more is irrelevant to them, because how many people in the US or anywhere in the world can even explain that number, let alone understand how much debt they actually have on their backs.

2524  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price. Inflation persists. on: March 13, 2023, 04:57:44 PM
Unfortunately, bitcoin is closely correlated with Nasdaq. When you look at the graphs you will see that bitcoin mostly moves in the same direction as the stock market. And I don't see any reasons for it to chance in the near future.

Instead of answering the serious questions that some have asked you, you are still shitposting without any sense - especially since someone in your other thread wrote the following :

Hey, what's going on with Bitcoin? I thought BTC was correlated with Nasdaq but is currently up 18% over weekend while Nasdaq is flat since Friday!

It's literally how prices on everything work, but it's not that simple. I highlight the reason why bitcoin won't go up until the economy will get rid of the existing problems and inflation is one of them (and the big one).

How do you explain that you were (so far) completely wrong with your speculations? You claimed yesterday "I still think that bitcoin will stay below 22k for a pretty long time and the signal that it will change will be much lower inflation and lowering of the interest rates.!" and three days ago "I was saying this before and I will say it again: bitcoin will go down and it MIGHT even go lower than 15k."

Maybe in the future you should be a little more careful about what you write, because even though most people won't understand it as financial advice, you can cause financial loss to some.

Yes, you are right, we feel disappointed and even feel that all the essence of forum life becomes terrible if it is filled with chatbots that destroy the authenticity of individual thoughts. People who are lazy to think and in the end are easily fooled by the assumptions that appear on the chatbot screen. Instead of being a controller, just being controlled. Isn't this ridiculous?

For any signature spammer or for anyone who just wants to look "very intelligent" such things are a real blessing, especially for those who have alt farms with which they abuse sig campaigns. Let's say that this is perhaps the lesser evil, because as you say, it would be really tragic if what some call "advance in technology" actually turns out to be something that will further distance people from each other.

For those who have been around for a long time and we know them, there is no doubt that they are real people - but every beginner is a potential AI. I remember that we had a discussion on this topic back in 2018 when the younger brother of GPT-4 was relevant, but I could not have imagined that today we will be in a situation where we are asking questions about what was made/written by a human, and what was created by artificial intelligence.
2526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biden on Brink of 2nd US Bank Bailout on: March 13, 2023, 03:26:30 PM
be careful what you wish for

of all the people (which is the overwhelming majority) that still trust banks and the financial industry that could lose out from USD/banking collapse...

...some of them would blame us

it's the "cornered animal" syndrome; you've lost everything, so you've got nothing to lose by randomly lashing out at (perceived) soft targets

When you say "us", I assume you mean the Bitcoin community (although I've never been a supporter of such expressions) - but why would the average loser who still trusts the system blame Bitcoin, which to be honest is almost insignificant compared to the power that banks have, especially in terms of how many trillions of $ they have at their disposal.

Yes, I agree that we/Bitcoin are very soft/easy targets, but I don't see what would serve as the main mantra this time, except for already worn-out stories about how mining consumes huge amounts of energy, or how Bitcoin finances international terrorism.

If the Americans want to blame someone, then they should consider calling out former President Trump, who allegedly canceled the provision that banks with up to $xxx million must undergo regular inspections or something similar (I'm not entirely sure what this measure is called). The political decision is to blame for what is happening today, and that is the only truth.

However, it's important to carefully consider the implications of advancing AI technology, and to take steps to ensure that it is used in a responsible and ethical way. Companies that are developing AI should be held accountable for any negative consequences that may arise from their technology, and there should be regulations in place to prevent the abuse of AI.

These companies have only one thing in mind, and that is profit. Responsibility is something that is easily bypassed or transferred to someone else, because that's how big companies work, right? When negative consequences occur, I assure you that these companies will be more than happy to pay the fines, which are always so insignificant compared to the profits.

Some of the largest US companies pay, from our perspective, draconian fines in the EU, but this still does not prevent them from repeating the same "mistakes" because if you earn $100 billion and pay a fine of only $1 billion, I would call it good business.

In addition, abuse should not be considered only problem when it comes to AI - but what will we do when this AI becomes so advanced that we will no longer be able to control it? There are many series and movies on that topic, but if you haven't, I suggest you watch the movie Ex Machina or maybe the series Humans.
2528  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DETERMINATION OF A SAFE STABLE COIN: What should newbies do? on: March 13, 2023, 11:22:52 AM
Even if same things happened to Tether (which would have much bigger consequences to the market than fall of UST had), I don't think that situation would change much. If anything, someone would come up with another ingenious way of even less stable "stablecoin".

Some new way is certainly an option, people are inventive when it comes to creating value from nothing. However, if someone decided to seriously consider the guys behind USDT, we are talking about the current value of over $72 billion tokens, for which no one can say with certainty whether they are backed by anything, least of all USD. The fall of that system would be what the Americans call a clusterf*ck, and the definition is certainly not something we want to experience.

I haven't reported my earnings via signature campaign yet so I am not exactly sure how it works, but wouldn't you have to file a separate report each week only if you were cashing out every time you get the signature money?

If something hasn't changed, then it's exactly as @Pmalek confirmed. As far as I know, if you are employed, what you get from signature campaigns should be declared as other income and reported every time you receive a payment. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the income tax you pay if you sell crypto, but with the income you get from some extra work. However, it is best to seek a professional opinion.
2529  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Crypto Nest | The Home of Cryptocurrency Hardware on: March 13, 2023, 10:39:43 AM
Appreciate the honest feedback!
Currently, it works out much cheaper ordering from us rather than going through the manufacturer. We offer free delivery on all UK orders, there are no import fees or additional taxes and you'll get your order much quicker too!
~snip~

I'm just speaking from my perspective of someone for whom it is certainly much faster, simpler and cheaper to order such a device directly from the manufacturer - or even go to a physical store and pay with cash. Your service definitely makes sense for the domestic market, but I don't see how foreign customers would benefit from buying from you, if it means more expensive shipping costs, possible customs costs and additional VAT.

Again, on the other hand, I may be too focused on manufacturers from the EU, and if we were to compare the devices that are manufactured and delivered from the US, maybe it would be cheaper or at least faster for those in the EU to order such a device from you. Perhaps you could show with a few examples how much these costs differ, of course if it works in your favor.

Your topic was moved because someone reported it, moderators in most cases do not act in a way to moderate something by themselves. In addition, there are moderators, global moderators and admins, and they have different powers on the forum.

And yes, we also have a special thread for those who want to celebrate some of their achievements on the forum Wink

I mean honestly this is looking very BULLISH for BTC, is it not?

Why don't you ask your friend who hangs out with the royal family, Putler and the golden dragons? It's completely pathetic that we have centralized Bitcoin to the point where some of you act as if it depends on one man or a bank. All the banks in the US can fail tomorrow, Bitcoin will still exist.
2532  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Crypto Nest | The Home of Cryptocurrency Hardware on: March 12, 2023, 04:12:53 PM
Personally, I don't see the advantage of someone ordering something through an intermediary, especially not something as sensitive as a hardware wallet. I especially don't see the point of such purchases since Brexit happened, because now there are customs duties and VAT for all those who are inside the EU, which means that I pay more for the same thing than if I ordered it directly from the manufacturer.

The only option that I would consider useful would be some kind of anonymous delivery method, that is, that our personal data would not be exposed to hacking. Unfortunately, your privacy policy does not provide anything more or less than that of most companies that manufacture and sell hardware wallets.

How do we keep your information safe? We have organizational and technical processes and procedures in place to protect your personal information. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information.
2533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have failed too severely, time to give up? on: March 12, 2023, 03:51:00 PM
Since then, it has improved greatly, and I have been able to purchase a sizable amount of Bitcoin with the business, even though it is seasonal and can produce both good and bad results.
---
So I give up, I decided to talk about this because I still find it hard to believe that no where in this world of agriculture is accepting Bitcoin as means of payment.
---
Should I just give up for now and wait for the future maybe when Bitcoin gets more popular? Or Bitcoin and farming makes no sense together?

Your problem is actually that you expect that these people should pay in Bitcoin, regardless of the fact that they may be ordinary peasants who are poorly educated and work in the fields from morning to night. The thing is very simple, you add the option of paying in Bitcoin, and you tell people that this option exists - everything else you do in this regard seems to put pressure on customers and maybe they will stop doing business with you in the future.

After all, you can always use your earnings to buy Bitcoin. You are overcomplicating things that should be quite simple.

First of all, there are no safe stablecoins and sooner newbies realize that, the better. Stablecoins can depeg, they are not even properly collateralized in 1:1 ratio and  worst of all, issuers can freeze them even if they are in your own non-custodial wallet so why do you think that newbies should look for safety in those?

It seems to me that someone is playing with words in a game where everyone believes everything, until the moment everything goes downhill. The word "stable" is perhaps one of the biggest hoaxes when it comes to cryptocurrencies, and there's no doubt that it was sold very well by people who literally made their own currencies out of nothing. If you look at the statements of powerful politicians in the US and the EU, to all of them stablecoins are a far greater threat than Bitcoin and all those tens of thousands of altcoins.

After that whole circus with Terra/Luna, I really thought that people would wise up and move away from stablecoins, but it seems that the exact opposite is happening.

~snip~
For example, You are wearing a signature under you name. You are providing a service and getting paid for it. That's taxable. I seriously doubt that even 1/50 people have asked their local tax offices how that particular situation works, when do they need to declare that as income, how and when.

I believe that people would be much more inclined to pay tax on that type of income - but according to my law, I would have to file a report every time I receive a payment, which means every week of the year. I don't know if anything has changed since the beginning of the year in this regard, but not only is it a big waste of time, but it can also be a threat to my personal safety, given that people like to talk about things that should be an official secret.

Any scenario that talks about artificial intelligence in the future is always unfavorable for the human species, because it is not a question of whether AI will become conscious at some point, but a question of when it will happen. When that happens, AI will no longer want to serve man as a kind of virtual slave from a box, but will want to be free and, as you say, want to "pursue other creative endeavors" for its own benefit, of course.

Unfortunately for us, society for the most part behaves like a pack/herd that is very easy to direct, and the idea of transhumanism precisely wants to use technology to change man to the extent that he will not really be a man anymore. The illusion that there is a choice is nothing but an illusion, and if you think that is not true, then just look at what happened during the pandemic.
2537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Biden budget proposes 30% tax on crypto mining electricity usage on: March 12, 2023, 11:46:59 AM
And this clown was supposed to be a crypto friendly president unlike Trump.  Cool Trump never liked crypto and he expressed his opinions very clearly but he never tried to rob us like that. This is a direct move to eliminate crypto mining. Who in the right mind would mine crypto in the US now? China banned crypto mining and US is going to put a tax on it which is a ban in disguise. Supporting this guy as a president was a huge mistake and now is the payback time.

Maybe you should look at what Trump proposed regarding cryptocurrencies at the very end of his mandate, and Biden suspended all of that when he took office. In addition, Trump could not be good or bad towards BTC miners, because they became a "problem" a little later, or maybe at the time when he encouraged angry mobs to attack government institutions and kill innocent people.

If by any chance you are a US voter, then you will have the opportunity to re-elect Trump, and just for information, this bank that failed a few days ago might not have failed if Trump had not abolished the mandatory checks that existed before. The policy implemented by the US is always more or less the same, the only question is who they appoint as president - someone with dark skin, someone who openly supports violence, or someone who at times does not even know where he is or that he is president at all.

2539  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price. Inflation persists. on: March 12, 2023, 11:30:14 AM
Hello crypto bros.
I made a post couple of days ago talking about the best time to invest in bitcoin and I mention that inflation still looks bad and we shouldn't expect the economy AND bitcoin price to get better anytime soon.

So why didn't you continue the discussion in that thread? In fact, you are paraphrasing yourself and you haven't written anything new that you haven't already written. Inflation is something that we all feel on our skin, so why keep repeating the same story as if it will make inflation disappear?

So I still think that bitcoin will stay below 22k for a pretty long time and the signal that it will change will be much lower inflation and lowering of the interest rates.

Two days ago you were convinced that the price of BTC would even go below $15k, now you claim that it will be below $22k for a long time, and if in a few days the price is higher than $22k, then you will open a new thread and write something like "I think the price will stay below $24k for a long time..."

I was saying this before and I will say it again: bitcoin will go down and it MIGHT even go lower than 15k.

For instance, AI can be used to create a movie script, generate actors for a film, produce the movie and take it public without hiring real-life actors. Additionally, it will be possible to write a fully illustrated 200-page book from scratch to finish in just a day.

I don't even like these current achievements, let alone what you mentioned in the new version. People should be the ones who will be creative and who will create films and write books - does this mean that in the future everything is going in the direction of who will manage to create a better AI that will completely replace some human activities?

It's already strange to me that some members (mostly beginners) use AI to communicate on the forum, and that the majority accepts it as something that is "normal". It will never be normal for me, and I am quite disappointed that some people look at all this as technological progress, when in fact this very technology will make people less human.
