2521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shall We Hold Our Bitcoin Like Gollum? on: September 10, 2021, 04:42:27 PM
There are already many people who hold Bitcoin, especially in terms of investment, they have their own investment targets, the most highlighted is the long term. It doesn't always cause the Bitcoin price to fall sharply, because the popularity of Bitcoin is increasing when the Bitcoin price is down... there will always be someone doing a new entry. Someone sells and someone else buys, it will continue like that. The people holding Bitcoin out there won't stop until the future, because we know Bitcoin becoming more looks recognized around the world.
Just never sell your bitcoins all at once and it will make your future becomes secured. I think holding your bitcoin after you started selling some of them for profits will always be a perfect move because bitcoin should not only be as an investment but it should be more of as a currency. Spend your profits as much as you want. After all, you decide for your own because that's what bitcoin is all about, freedom.

I am currently holding bitcoin in my portfolio and i think it will be more valuable as the years pass so probably i will hold it as much as i want and maybe sell it in the future when i want it too.
2522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Oscar Valdez vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 10th on: September 10, 2021, 01:45:34 PM
Just a couple of days before this fight, and it's weird that sports bookies are missing this big fight.

They've listed unknown fighters with betting lines already, but this one is not even covered, weird.

In any case, I can't bet on this one if this is not offered by crypto bookies, I don't like fiat base, because they've ask to much info.

Maybe we should remind the representatives of those online bookies to cover this fight since Oscar Valdez has many users here who are a fan of him, including me of course hehe.

I think they forgot that this fight is a go despite the substance controversy that Valdez is into or this is a form of boycott of the bookies for what Valdez has done, what ya think?

No need to bother them, it seems that they are reading this thread:

Although it is not yet open, at least they have opted to include this already, so that's a good news for us boxer bettors.

The only thing to do is just wait, the fight is in 48 hours, so maybe tomorrow they will open the betting already so that's 24 hours for us to pull the trigger on this one.

The complete list of betting odds are now available, you can check the updated market again.

Any chance this fight will end up in a draw? the odds is currently @26, that's hard to resist, I think.

That's possible but unlikely because Valdez is the heavy favorite to win this fight @1.39. The odds are pretty much similar to Pacquiao vs Ugas, maybe we will see a big upset here after Valdez had some controversy answering the substance found in the test.

So what's your pick guys?

I think this fight will be tomorrow in my timezone?

That's why we should put our bet now so we will be able to enjoy it more when we are watching live.

^^ Most likely yes, this could end up in a draw but it's hard to predict who are going to win.

Just begs me the question, how is Valdez mind in this fight, he has been accused of using a ban substance and it might affect him psychologically in this fight.

So again, another good fight to watch this weekend depending on your timezone. We love to see another underdog pull an upset here.

He sure is okay, I hope he will not be affected as all I want to see is him fighting but the result is a draw, lol.
Valdez and Conceicao both have an undefeated record, so this should be a fight between the best.
2523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 10, 2021, 12:14:11 PM

That is to be expected by the Lakers, he might be used as bench/role players with 10 minutes per game to give Davis or even Howard a good rest. His best years are with the Clippers and after that he seems to be a journey man. Lakers have a lot of veterans and ageing players, and hopefully the medical staff can keep them healthy for the duration so that the Lakers can get back that championship ring. It's going to be very close in the West as to who will be the top seed.

The Lakers this year has a tall line up, so I guess DeAndre won't be stressing himself too much with Howard and AD in the line up.  Also, he might be receiving enough lob from Rondo and LeBron just like when he was playing with the Clippers.
I'm thinking DeAndre is the best fit in LA from all of their acquisition this year, If he can stay healthy and perform the way he play in Clippers.
Well, the current Lakers roster is the biggest threat in the West anyway.

Rondo will have the liberty for his lob pass to this big man as these big man are used to that strategy. You are right, there's no much burden for Jordan here as he has talented big men surrounding him. If my counting is correct, they already have 4 big men namely.

1. Mark Gasol.
2. Deandre Jordan
3. Dwight Howard
4. Anthony Davis.

These are starers of their previous teams, no reason the Lakers will not be in the NBA Finals next year.
2524  Economy / Economics / Re: Ways to avoid being scammed!!! on: September 10, 2021, 08:38:44 AM
Be responsible and protect yourself from being scammed!!!!!!

It all boils down to this, secure yourself, your account and anything that is sensitive to your finances. You shouldn't be careless on how you leave this information unprotected same goes for your wallet details like private keys, recovery seeds, passcodes etc. You should be aware that scammers are always looking for ways to get this information and access your account to steal your funds.

Just as you have said, avoid unnecessary discussion with people you don't know, scammers are always first to make contact therefore treat everyone that contacts you without your knowledge as scammers until proven otherwise. Security is a subject we shouldn't stop talking about as the scammers are always inventing new ways and improvising news means to trap their victims. The only way to reduce your chances of been a victim is by been vigilant.
Scamming has been so rampant these days as this is not just happening in the crypto world but even in our own real life day to day activities. As more and more people get to engage in this high technology, the scamming incidents got to increase too and they are more after with those newbies in town.

I believe that we get only scam because we let it to happen. So the best thing to avoid it is be more educated and vigilant. Secure all your assets down to finances and always be responsible of keeping them safe all the time. And never trust anyone be it a friend or a total stranger because as long as money is involve, everyone will be tempted and lured once they knew it will be very possible to steal.
2525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: End of bull run so we sell everything? on: September 10, 2021, 08:08:56 AM
If I were you I wouldn't sell all of the cryptos I own, rather sell some of them to get my profits and hold the remaining because I feel the bull run is going to continue for quite some time now.
Sell only an amount that you think will satisfy you and better hold some of them because we really don't know if the bull run will still continue and might reach into another peak. But if the price suddenly dump, never regret, atleast you already sell some of them and got to enjoy them.

This situation will really bother most of us but if we know how to take advantage every event in the market, then we will never be at loss somehow. Bulls and bears will definitely stay, and so we must be able how to deal with them.
2526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: September 10, 2021, 04:05:45 AM
An exciting big fight to consider and it's all happening by the end of the year. There's one more watch to wait for since the biggest fights have happened already and there's one more to wait. What a year to end with this match and I think they're all set and got the hint of the year when they're going to have this. The trio of this match that also includes another boxer makes it more interesting to what we're looking forward after this match but yeah, let's not go down straight to that and just look up to the current and wait until this match comes since there could be a lot of things to happen just like how Pacquiao-Ugas happened unexpectedly.
Is there official announcement about this fight to happen this year? Where it will be held? If this is really true then its a nice event before this year end. These boxers has gain popularity because of their confidence and efficiency on their career and many fans are waiting for this fight to happen. Can Casimero break the record of Inoue as undefeated? We'll find out the moment they face each other in the ring.

I try to search for it, so there's no official announcement for this fight, but it looks like this is going to happen late this year or early 2021. The hype has been building specially the disrespect that Casimero show on Inoue.

We can't answer that, only in the fight we will see if Casimero have what it takes to break and take Inoue's 0. But for sure the odd favorite here will be Inoue.

Inoue will always be the favorite since he is the best in ranking in the current division, however, he has not faced Casimero yet who is a road warrior, so I can't completely say he is the best. The fight will happen this year according to Casimero, he would not say anything like that if there's no basis, so be patient and just wait until the formal announcement is made.

2528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is ethereum taking the crown from Bitcoin as ehtereum reaches $4000 on: September 09, 2021, 11:33:26 PM
Bitcoin dictates how the market sentiments will be like and already as we all know there was a slight dip which saw bitcoin go down pulling all other altcoins with it into the deep which is a clear indication that bitcoin is still king and will call the shots.
As for Ethereum let's give it some credit, it is the king of altcoins and that is something no altcoin will take away from it but won't dethrone btc.
It really won't be dethroning bitcoin. It's been years already since a lot have tried but never any of them did won from that acquisition. So people should stop comparing bitcoin with anything in the market even if it's eth, the 3rd or fourth and so on.
It's just senseless to keep doing that just because you see it pump.
Precisely. There's no point in comparing them because even if the one exceeds the other but its definitely not dethroning since ethereum and bitcoin have different uses and purposes. They are both good investments but never will ethereum come to replace the position of bitcoin.

As what i have seen in the market, bitcoin and ethereum are both struggling to reach their ATH. But in the end, if bitcoin will reach first its new all time high, ethereum too will benefit from it and may even cause to reach its new ATH too as earlier as expected.
2529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is only new to the newbie on: September 09, 2021, 10:56:15 PM
thats why, hard to make bitcoin as real currency. there are many people still dont know how gold or land works, sometime they just buy it for accessories than sell when they need money without knowing the real how much money they get. problem is people must share the information about that one, and remove investment thinking about crypto.
I think there are already a lot of people who have come to know bitcoin but there are also those who are still ignorant about bitcoin and does not even know that its existing. And most likely they are those residing in areas wherein modern technology is not yet fully practice and expect that most of them are illiterate.

But also bitcoin is new to some people who have been believing that its a scam when probably its not. Of course they are newbies knowing they don't know exactly what bitcoin is and its usefulness to the people.
2530  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador retirees protest against Bitcoin as legal tender on: September 09, 2021, 09:44:34 PM
Choosing Bitcoin as a reserve for the elderly is a bold move. Most of the elderly are not knowledgeable about Bitcoin so it is obvious that they oppose the policies of the president of El Salvador and I consider it a normal reaction. I believe Bitcoin will go up in the long term and people have more confidence in the bold move of their president.

El Salvador retirees don't have to vote for bitcoin, president Bukele said in a tweet that for citizens concerned about their retirement funds, they can continue to choose to make transactions in US dollars as usual, using bitcoin not mandatory in the country if they have any doubts about bitcoin.

Actually, the reason El Salvador retirees reject Bitcoin is because they lack education about Bitcoin. We do have to understand that old people have
a harder time accepting something new, so they protest something they don't understand. The government of El Salvador should carry out a more
intensive education program about Bitcoin to the residents of El Salvador, especially the elderly population. Maybe the solution is that El Salvador
retirees can choose to use fiat if they don't trust Bitcoin. I agree with you, there is no compulsion from the government of El Salvador to use Bitcoin.
El Salvador retirees have all the right to protest if they think they will find it hard to understand and use bitcoin as a currency. But i don't think they should be bothered by that since their own fiat is not yet eliminated and they can still use it as much as they can. Maybe its just a misinformation.

While most of the elderly have found it hard to use bitcoin but most of the millenials and even those in their mid age are definitely enjoying using bitcoin because as far as i know, some are already into bitcoin investments even before bitcoin has become a legal tender.
2531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DYOR or just follow famous people? on: September 09, 2021, 08:34:24 PM
Sometimes you do so many research for your investment, but you make a loss at finally. In the meanwhile, your friends just follow famous people or obey some rumors, and they make huge profits.
Have you ever had such an experience?
If you have, how about your friend ?they make a fortune or not?
I understand that everyone would say it is better to not look at famous people and do your own research. However one thing we are forgetting here is that just because you look at what the influencers are saying doesn't mean that we can't DYOR neither. Go check what they are saying because that is usually the places that have enough money to do marketing and 100% guaranteed paid those influencers to say their name. And that is literally the reason why we see so many useless tokens go up.

However just because those influencers talked about a coin doesn't mean you have to buy it, just research it and you will see how great or terrible it is. That's my trick, I check what influencers say and then pick something among them, I still do my research on all of them.
I think DYOR must be applied all the time especially that we don't know if those famous people can be good influencers or not. There's nothing wrong if we come to believe them but we should also do our part and that is keeping researches on what they are making us believe. So get some idea from them but definitely the final say will be coming from us.

Sometimes i also check some speculations coming from big whales and its not really all the time that they are making right speculations so others tend to avoid them before they can create wrong moves just because they fully rely on what those influencers say.
2532  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you scared? on: September 09, 2021, 07:56:20 PM
I'm not at all afraid of the current bitcoin price decline, I think this is just a correction and you should be able to take advantage of this situation well like buying when the market is down before the market recovers. because I believe that the price of bitcoin can improve in the near future.
Dumping of prices in crypto is just normal for a volatile market like crypto so we should be used to it instead of getting scared. It will only take some time and then eventually those coins with potentials will recover again. So take advantage of the market while there's a dump and sell it when the price recovers and reaches its peak.

Bitcoin has indeed a bright future to look forward to so let's hodl on to it and keep our faith strong especially in times that is experiencing its dump moments. But honestly, for now i really don't see bitcoin dumping that much as what it only had was just a little price correction that usually occurs in the market.
2533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prayer and gambling. on: September 08, 2021, 11:20:55 AM
Prayer in Gambling it's a funny thing , maybe it's an awkward or they just really need to pray for just  to win the game. Some gambler are scared specially if they are new in Gambling they will never take a risk so some of them they prayed just in case they can win. But I think the spiritual of God will never enter cause we all know that thing.

If you are emotionally attach with your religion then it will really work for you and you will find it will bring good luck to you. There is no harm in praying and get help from god to help you in winning. The only thing you need to be careful is that do not take too much risk or any such thing. First play your best with proper risk management and then pray to god for a win.
Just be realistic all the time, knowing the risk is more important than believing that you will win, because if God will grant all the gamblers wishes, then probably people will be lazy because everyone can make money in gambling, and no gambling operators will survive if that's the case.
2534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 08, 2021, 09:07:50 AM
Less than a month until the Nets come to Los Angeles to play the Lakers for the first time with their new squads. I don’t know if the stars will be playing or not, but I am looking forward to it and hoping they are. As soon as I find out how to watch the game I’ll let it be known.

What is that game? is that a preseason game? because I believe the regular season will start in December, it must be a preseason game, if it is, I don't think the Lakers will let their star players play, I'm sure they'll save it in the regular season.

yes, that's a preseason schedule, you can see the full schedule here.
https://basketball.realgm.com/nba/preseason/schedule

October 3 is the start of the preseason, the LA Lakers and Nets will open it with only one game on that certain day.
And yes, you are maybe correct, the starters might not play or they will, let's just expect limited minutes from them since preseason are mostly for rookies and bench players.
2535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just in case on: September 08, 2021, 07:09:34 AM
When people talks about diversity in crypto space they only point at big projects and small projects combined but no one ever talk about their life savings, I've seen people putting all they have into crypto and yes they have more than 5 coins in their portfolio but is this the smartest move?

Personally I think the smartest move is to have some funds offline as well, if you know what diversity means then you should be smart enough bro know that nothing is guaranteed, have some money 💰💰 offline and some online (crypto and other), putting all your eggs in one basket is bad and too much of everything is also bad

Well, actually they diverse their investment with several coins which is better than only invest on 1 single coin.
Some people like to investing in crypto because crypto is more volatile than other assets which can bring more profit, also more loss.
No wonder they prefer crypto than fiat or other 'offline' asset to invest on.
I don't think it's a problem if you only invest in 1 coin, as long as the investment is in bitcoin. but sometimes many people who want more profit so choose altcoins to invest. but for a smart investor, of course he will divide his capital into several altcoins so that by diversifying it, will make the risk lower
Its always a good thing to diversify our investments with what we think are seem profitable. Aside from minimizing the risk, there will also be less chances that we will feel the losses we have because if one of our investments fail, the other one might still surviving. So we will never be totally in huge loss.

But i understand what OP wants to impart. Despite of all the investments we had either in crypto, stocks or real estate, we also need to secure our offline investment like having enough funds for emergency purposes. There must be a good amount that should be considered as our family savings so that if all the investments fail, we will not be left in an empty wallet.
2536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I feel uncomfortable if I don’t buy on: September 07, 2021, 06:57:44 PM
I started putting 1k into Bitcoin every time it drops by 5k since 60k. And I ran out of funds a little while ago.

The fact that I can’t buy this dip just makes me extremely uncomfortable.

It makes me feel shifty and nervous of the fluctuations. Whereas before I looked forward to it falling so I can just buy.

I guess this is the part where I wait.

Well at least you know what to do next, as a beginner, a lot of mistakes will come in your way, and there will always be a chance to buy some bitcoins, Bitcoin will always have that dipping season, you know how volatile Bitcoin is and that's good, the last thing you need to learn is be patient and be active on observing the movment of the price, it's all about being calm and to not panic buy or panic sell your bitcoins.
As you go on with your crypto experiences, i know you will develop those valuable traits that are very important to make you stay long in crypto. And being patient while you are in the waiting game and controlling your own emotions not to drive your whole self are included. I don't think OP you have to feel that way just because you were'nt able to buy but think of it, there are still more dips to come so probably prepare for it as early as now so you won't miss another chance.

I know lot of us here have been into your shoes but the only difference is they don't make it a big issue. Just learn to forget and move on. After all, this crypto market will move only between its bulls and bears so just focus on positive things and gradually it will help you attract passive income too.
2537  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How weird is it to borrow money and invest into Bitcoin? on: September 06, 2021, 11:55:44 PM
borrowing is very risky which is why people are advised not to do it at all. the only   exception is if its for long duration and from a family who just wish to help. things are not the same when you trade with a borrowed money and personal money.
Exactly. Its easier to invest knowing the money you put in it is only the amount you can afford to lose. But if you prefer borrowing money, it will be  a high risk knowing the profits you will gain has no definite time when it will happen. So paying your loan plus its added interest without a good source of income will make your whole life a disaster.

This is the reason why borrowing money for any kind of investment is not acceptable. Its better to earn first before deciding to invest so that if your investment fails, then you have nothing to worry how to repay someone else but just your own empty pocket.
2538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dead Coins on: September 06, 2021, 10:16:56 PM
https://etherdelta.com/ where thousands of junk coins are registered. just visit the site, who knows your coins can still be sold there even though the price is 1 cent

If there is still a price of 1 cent, we still have our considerations for saving it, because we can still save 1 cent which knows it can increase, but the problem now is that the price is not even in the market (there is no name for the coin listed in the market table) so that like no man's coin
If that is the case, then don't bother keeping it in your wallet anymore. It will never rise up again not even its name will be listed again. So just forget about it. Start accumulating coins that have been here in the market for long and are still having good developments up to the present.

I personally avoid dead coins as much as i can but sometimes i still happen to hold it without me knowing that its already dead. Now that i know already that its just useless to keep them in our hard storage, i think its time for me to just put them in a trash as they are good as trash coins.
2539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your investing Strategy on: September 03, 2021, 09:15:46 PM
I invest in well-known coins. I put every month some of my money there. And when it dips i put there some more if i can.
I do invest making those top coins in priority and be able to diversify as much as i can as i am also into gaming and NFT's. NFT's are definitely in huge demand right so i'm also riding with the hype where i think i can be more profitable.

But of course i will never leave behind bitcoin and the top potential altcoins as they will always come up profitable too once bitcoin will take the lead and reaches its new ATH. I know with how i value investments and taking chances every opportunity that comes, i will be overwhelm with huge and consistent profits in the days to come.
2540  Economy / Economics / Re: The first rule of investing is saving on: September 03, 2021, 08:51:34 PM
This is my way of making investments into cryptocurrencies in fact. I don't prefer making an investment with a certain amount of my salary right away. I choose to save an amount of money that I set as a goal before deciding to make an investment. Because it is very important to me that I should invest an amount which I'm able to afford even if I lose it all. I don't want to regret that I made an investment.
Probably that's what most of us really want. I don't see myself investing with an amount that is intended for my bills because it will only make my life more complicated. I just want a safe sailing investment wherein when things don't go as planned, then it will never cause me any regret because i only invest on my spare money.

And as much as possible, once we make profits from our investment, then have some of your profits put in your savings and the rest roll it for your another investment. Its more convenient to invest when there are no interruptions and just focus on it.
