Yes, it's possible, so why don't they want to make that much profit? Is there some law that says Richard Branson cannot trade BTC on exchanges, upon penalty of immediate execution without trial?
Why are you afraid of your satoshis being worth 1 US cent (or more) each? BTC is not sold only in whole units.
Maybe because that would not be good for their image and Bitcoin's image to manipulate it so heavily. Manipulate? Image? Ridiculous. BTC is a joke as long as its furthest currently-programmed decimal place is only worth 0.000002293 USD and not at or above parity with the smallest denomination of the world's reserve currency. Branson would be a hero and a villain to exactly the same people who view him as such today.

$500 for BTC1.5 ($333/BTC)? When was that part of the article written?

All they need to do is coordinate amongst themselves to buy up all the volume on all BTC exchanges, and then they can set sell walls at $1 million USD/BTC (or whatever price above the highest/last limit sell they conquered), then say hello to hundreds of billions, if not trillions, of dollars in profit once they control all the liquidity (automatically buying up any later limit sells priced under their wall, so they are always the lowest ask).

Baltimore: Arm yourself because nobody else here will save you.
Good luck, Maryland has one of the most if not the most strict gun control regulations in the US. Other little secret anti gun legislation makes it not safe to own guns. For example, I own a large gun safe, probably near a half ton in weight. If someone breaks into my house, spends a week cracking my safe, steals a weapon, and shoots someone with it, I'm liable and can be charged as an accessory. Yes, it's well known that Maryland.gov is this close to summarily executing all law-abiding gun owners who won't pay bribes. Sounds like you might as well rig the safe to electrocute everyone but you. If you're going to be unjustly charged with murder, at least make it an act of self-defense/defense of others, against an actual criminal. Have you donated to any civil rights lawsuit funds?

I'm glad he is getting arrested/charged for his blatant crimes
What "blatant crimes"? What are the charges alleging that he victimized anyone? He deprived the State of Nevada their licensing fees, control over his operation, and any bribes and kickbacks they might be entitled to. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2FgYNUOkqzcVA%2Fmaxresdefault.jpg&t=663&c=NHVl1DP19dRBTw)

It's not just that the USA is a police state.... It's actually the licenced casino's ganging up against the unlicensed casino's. I would also be frustrated, if I had to pay millions in licensing fee's and the competition comes in and pays NO fees, and still operate. My conspiracy theory : His operation was tipped off, by his competition. He should have learned something from the "Seals With Clubs" bust and he did not... He just moved his operation to a NEW domain. { SwCPoker.eu } and this pizzed them off. Move to one of the islands next time, like the others did... and exclude US players, to be safe. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Are you upset individuals cant create their own casinos in the US? Why does that make it a police state? Because the police arrive at your gambling house and forcibly prevent it from operating? Police arresting people for non-criminal behaviour is pretty much the definition of a police state Non-victimful, since practically every victimless action, not in compliance with one or more licensing schemes, short of breathing (but not for much longer, I fear) is "criminal" in the US.

Lock all the cops and all those who have beef with the cops (at a 1:1 ratio, those who have beef with the cops would need to elect representatives or enter a lottery) in a sports arena. Either work out their issues with words or beat each other to death. No more fucking riots destroying innocent third-parties' lives and livelihoods.
Note that I did not mention race here.

On an interesting unrelated note, the local news station's reporter's just said something that caught my attention. "For a city with a lot of guns on the street, it's surprising that there was no gun activity"
Not at all surprising. Looting and arson are most efficient and safe with both hands free. Since law-abiding, sober, mentally-sound victims are rendered legally defenseless, they cannot defend against felonious acts, hence, no gun activity.

In my area there is no one to sell bitcoins for cash. Damn!
You need to put up a buying BTC ad then, otherwise nobody will know you exist.
