2541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 10, 2022, 08:48:35 PM
Great news for SMB, now they have another option. JMF, Tautua, and Brondial, I guess they are not a joke, they'll dominate inside and they also have a lot of outside shooters, it's really a great pick up by SMB and a great choice for Brondial. I guess this is his 3rd team already in his PBA career.
Really great news and don't forget about Vic Manuel. He's also part of SMB now. And speaking of spin.ph on the quote, I've seen an article from them about how much the lowest salary of a PBA player gets. (https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/how-much-salary-do-the-lowest-paid-pba-players-make-ain-t-bad-at-all-a793-20190312)
The lowest gets paid for P70,000 which is still not bad in our country and it's still a great amount to be considered of having not that much playing.

That PHP70k for one month is good enough if you can live a simple life, but knowing PBA players, they think they are superstars and they have rich friends so their lifestyle might also change. Also, when you play you are prone to get injured, so a player has to work hard to improve his game to earn a better salary. I guess no one is getting at least 500k per month in PBA? even JMP I guess?
Those that are living a lavish life, well, I think 70k is still enough for them. But for someone who thinks of himself as a superstar with that salary, he shouldn't think of himself like that. AFAIK, the max cap for salary is 420k for any veteran and it's because of their PBA rule.

But probably they'll earn more if they are consistent in the Finals and of course more if they win the Finals. So maybe some players prefer to stay in the PBA despite the huge offers outside because they might be assured of their security in the future rather than playing outside where a player could only get a short term contract and of course high pressure since they are one of the imports.
2542  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How often do you change your indicators? on: January 10, 2022, 02:34:36 PM
Guys I have a question, I'm not into short-term trading, but I have found a way to use some indicators that works for short-term trading and I think it works long-term, it consists of the Bollinguer Bands added with the stochastic, If they cross and it leaves the peak of the stochastic, it gives a signal to enter, either in a bullish or a bearish sense, I do not know how effective it is, but it seems to me that it is a good trick taking into account that if an analysis is previously done in determining what trend the currency will take, this is something that caught my attention, especially for short-term trading, it seems to me that these tools are very powerful, has anyone combined them?

Honestly, I was just new to hear that trading tool, I was curious then to try that and hoping that it works for me as well.

I was very often to change indicators when the market changed its course as I look it was very effective but can't be like that, it is a usual thing to happen and this never saves me from losing. This is probably because trading can't be all the time in winning, we'd sometimes lose, and sometimes it is always especially when we are using the wrong trading tool.
2543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 10, 2022, 01:24:59 PM
While the Mavericks VS Bulls at the last moment Luka Doncic is playing I say to myself it will be a hard game for the Chicago Bulls and the combined efforts of DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine is not enough to Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber, and Josh Green's combination, it was a great game and losing my bet was still OK,
And the Mavs won by a big margin of 14 points against the Bulls. DeRozan disappointed me in this game. He could've played far better than scoring only 20 points in the minutes he was given. Though he's aging and that's a factor as well. sorry for your loss.

He has a bad game but he is still one of the favorites to win an MVP award. Sometimes they are also getting tired and they lose games, but since they are a good team, for sure they'll start winning games again and that win streak will be repeat.
2544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 10, 2022, 12:48:06 PM

Thanks, I don't know that it's already available in our favorite crypto bookie here, I'll go check it and I'm willing to take that odds for sure since I believe Thurman is still capable of dominating his opponent and Barrios should not be a tough opponent for him.

Odd is decent considering Thurman's capabilities, though there are also fans for Barrios who will probably to take that odd too.
I like to see how Thurman will try to regain his old glory after that defeat against Pinoy legend Manny Pacquiao, it's a new
start for him, an opportunity to showcase his fighting skills and aim for another title fight.

Not bad if you will take this for Thurman if you really support this guy. 1.57 is fair enough for this favorite... Wink Roll Eyes

I'm taking it, it's a decent odds considering Thurman is a decent fighter as well. I can get 1.64 odds from another sportsbook as my account is entitled to a price boost, so that makes it more attractive. Good luck to us who believe in Thurman, hopefully, he will win this fight.
2545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin truly moving forward? on: January 10, 2022, 11:39:14 AM
if you say whether bitcoin is really moving forward, in my personal opinion bitcoin is moving forward, and growing very rapidly, almost all people have learned about bitcoin, there are even schools that have taught bitcoin, indeed the market price goes up and down, but for sure bitcoin really has progressed rapidly.
That was because the adoption has made stronger and seen better results.
I was looking forwards that more and more people will appreciate Bitcoin and seeing the huge benefit of using this new technology, not just for being an investment alone but as for a currency instead. We probably all have positive insights about Bitcoin and that become hopeful to know that more companies, more countries are in the way to give the full support.
2546  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You don't need to hodl a particular coin all your life on: January 10, 2022, 11:05:55 AM
many people misunderstand about holding, where many think they will not sell coins, I think as a good investor, the highest profit is sought, so we must be able to hold on until the target is reached, and wait for purchases when it has entered the area. therefore for me holding is target-oriented, and it can happen sooner or later
Yes. That's the misleading part, they think that holding is literally holding without selling. But we have to sell at some points of time when the prices are up.
It's for us to make a profit and how we're going to profit and testify that holding is profitable if we're not going to sell after holding? That's why you have to sell when you're in profit and not when you're at loss.
Investment does not mean holding. That to agree that people think about holding give them a profit in the future but it never makes if they don't sell them at a higher price. because the truth is that we can never make a profit whole holding that unless if you are staking. But if you just keep it by yourself, in your pocket, it is impossible for you to make a profit unless, if you decide to sell them.
What I know about holding is to save us from losing during the bear season, that is only it can do.
2547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advice on what to consider when making an investment ? on: January 09, 2022, 10:50:06 PM
For me, when choosing a project, it is very important that the team is not anonymous. If the project team is anonymous, it is better to stop researching this project already at this stage. Look at the investors of the project and if you see well-known funds among them, consider that their specialists have done the work of evaluating the project for you.
That unless if we are dealing with the stock market but as we are in crypto, anonymity seems to see. And this is sometimes a problem as scammers will easily trick us and use known names just to attract investors but in the end, it was an exit scam. That is why it is very important to spare time studying the market and so the panned project, otherwise, we fall into the wrong investment and lose our hard-earned money. We don't suppose to do that and so we need to be careful.

2549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't bet more than you can afford to lose. on: January 09, 2022, 01:23:34 PM
People believe gambling to be risky game they believe if they should a large amount to play gambling they will win and get a return of more they have invested, and at times sometimes it works out for some people who are good in gambling. This step of using much amount in playing gambling is not a good step that should be taking by beginners.
They believe that they can win a large amount with a small bankroll, that's the unrealistic approach of gambling that's why most of the small time gamblers are losing more than what they can afford because of that wrong mindset. If we are serious in gambling, our bankroll should be a decent amount in order ot achieve our realistic target of winning.
2550  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we need bitcoin... on: January 09, 2022, 03:38:57 AM
It depends on why you need bitcoin. Some may use it for transferring funds and whatever reason they want to use Bitcoin. Why do you use Bitcoin or why do buy?. If you can answer that question then you'll know why you use bitcoin or why do you need bitcoin. Every person have their own reasons why they use or buy crypto when there is fiat.
You start with one reason and before you get to know it, there would be lots of reasons why you would be needing bitcoin. When I started, it was just for me to be transferring funds and as time goes on I started to have other reasons as well, although making a transfer of funds still remains the main purpose, but I have also seen it as an investment. I always make sure that I am buying Bitcoin whenever it’s possible for me to do so. And it has been a good investment so far, because what I gain from it surpasses every other investments I make.
We actually don't need Bitcoin, it was just the time has come that it was created for some reason that we use to enjoy and sometimes make a living on it. In fact, people can live without Bitcoin and that is true. We still have fiat money where everyone is still using it till now, we can make this vanish and replace it with crypto that is why we couldn't weigh that much, and place Bitcoin as very important to our life.
And since it has existed, why not make use of it? That is all about but certainly, there is no string attached and people will forget this once the time has been done.
2551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will owning 0.01 BTC really make you rich? on: January 09, 2022, 03:06:22 AM
I don't think there will be a definite answer to this question. What is the future BTC price? Although BTC has grown significantly in the last year, there is no guarantee that the same will happen in the future. It only makes you rich if you can sell your BTC at a great price and fit the huge sums of money in that category.
Maybe you are right but have we thought before that Bitcoin will become what it reached today, we don't...the same thing what you do now. Maybe I was more optimistic, yeah, I will still predict that Bitcoin will seize more demand than today, and the value increases. And I think the majority in here are still bullish too but to think about what OP had asked, that answer NO.
0.01BTC won't make us rich, not eventually. I can imagine owning more of it and maybe I become rich but this amount is too small to give us millions.
2552  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My new year advice to crypto newbies on: January 08, 2022, 09:28:43 PM

3. My advice is start from somewhere and move up step by step, do not rush and do not find short cuts
This was very common to newbies. They just come without the knowledge and then think of becoming rich instantly. That is eventually just a dream and ambitious attempt that crypto can't provide it. This needs hard work and patience to learn things.
Quote
7. Don't become a holder if you can't even feed yourself daily, you need a job more than becoming a crypto holder, holders must have other means of making money so they can hold with ease
Honestly, it was true. We can't be a holder and it was really difficult if we just rely on crypto alone.
Quote
8. Not all coins and tokens you hold will do well in few years time, the unexpected can happen to good projects with good utilities too
I can compare this holding shitcoins, I have some of those coins and they only got stuck on my wallet. I've been waiting for 3 years and let is stay there but has no surprise that it still now market value. I've been hopeless and it looks like there is no chance.
2553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is unsettling, for those who don't have it on: January 08, 2022, 08:48:09 PM
...

from here I started to think, the reason why people still hate bitcoin is because they don't exist and have never felt what it's like to be here so when other people say it's very good they won't believe it because they haven't felt it before.
It cannot be denied that still a lot of people were not able to understand Bitcoin, they are most likely misinformed and got it wrong. Their mind needs to be cleared in order to the reality that Bitcoin is not a scam and it hasn't the intention to scam people.
Well, we have nothing to prove to them that they are wrong and we don't need to urge them to understand, that should be their well to do it. And I was glad that you have change your mind and never neglected to start investing Bitcoin. And those people who keep saying negative towards Bitcoin will soon to regrets and blame themselves.
2554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: January 08, 2022, 01:59:56 PM
We will soon this fight, that is if Casimero will beat Butler simply as that.

Only if that simple. Butler is also not an easy opponent. We are just being biased here because Quadro Alas is our representative. Butler is also on the goal of reaching the high rank and will surely do everything to win. Just for others to have an idea, Butler is currently ranked 1st by the WBO that's why he was chosen to fight against the Champion Casimero.

But of course, we like Casimero to win. But don't take everything lightly.
Right, it's not that easy for Casimero, he really needs to focus on this fight because regardless on where the fight is going to happen, it will be very difficult or at least there will be a big challenge for him because Butler will not be an easy opponent.

And maybe during the actual fight we are still going to hold our breath until Casimero is declared the winner as many things can really happen in a fight.

I find it easy for Casimero because Butler is not Rigondeux who loves to run.

Based on Butler's previous fight, he is very aggressive and loves to challenge his opponent, so in that case, I see that the advantage is on Casimero because he is a good counter puncher. Maybe he will be in the news again after this fight if he will win via KO.

Butler can be defeated by KO again but he also has a chance to beat Casimero if the champion will be careless. His counter-punching technique is very effective but he should not underestimate the power of Butler as he only had 2 loses of his 33 fights, and that means he is a great boxer.

2555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 08, 2022, 01:34:07 PM

Not that special or big deal to others but aside from the Los Angeles Lakers getting a win against the Atlanta Hawks, LeBron James now enters the Top 10 All-Time in Career Steals. That kind of record is a tough job to work on. Chris Paul and Lebron James are the only active players on the Top 10 where the former sits at the 5th spot. Aside from that, Lebron James now surpasses Michael Jordan as the oldest player to record 10 straight 25+ points in a game. The hell they were able to record that lol.

LeBron James enters top 10 all-time in career steals
At 37, LeBron is the oldest player in NBA history to have 10 straight 25-point games. He passes Michael Jordan, who did it at age 34.

It seems like the NBA pretty much have the record for almost all of the aspect of the game.
LeBron being in the age of 37 has done really something impressive carrying a team who's struggling that's was suppose to be one of the strongest team in the West.
Well, the Lakers are doing fine playing a small ball with LeBron being in the Center position, but the most notable player that's helping the Lakers and LeBron to win their 4 winning-streak was none other than Malik Monk. He has become a more consistent scorer now.
Though LeBron's performance is timeless but without any help from the whole team they'll achieve nothing this year.

The Lakers slowly getting up to a good standing, with their 4th win streak, they are now at number 6. That's very good for Lebron James, another achievement again and more to come as for sure he will be playing more seasons in the NBA. At his age, he still looks like he is in his prime, so everything he achieve now is not surprising anymore.

Yes, and that is good news because they are not doing well and some has been disappointed with their super team, but now they are slowly living to the expectation of the people and I hope they'll continue to win. Without the support of LBJ's teammates, he could not carry this team to the playoffs, so he some consistent support especially from WB who are sometimes inconsistent.
2556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 07, 2022, 09:33:58 PM
Warriors seems to be getting to Curry at this point. Dude carried the team all by himself to this point but he can't do it all alone and he is getting too tired to do it and has been on a slump for the past month or so. Klay coming back will be amazing for him, obviously warriors have other good players as well but they are not really offensively as dangerous as Curry so most teams defend Curry harder than any other person in that team.

I am not going to say that he is the only good player on that team, others are good too but Curry is on another level. Klay coming back means he will spread the floor a bit more and yes it will take some time but I am sure eventually he will be helping out a lot.

Yeah, Steph is definitely tired and the Warriors need to be make sure that he is well rested before going into the playoffs.

Klay will take some time to adjust to the NBA schedule in my opinion, so don't expect immediate production from him.

But I think that people have built unrealistic expectations of what one person (Curry) can do in terms of carrying this team. Give this man a break.

Curry does not literally carry the team,  if you look at the box score per game, you will also see some contributions from his teammates. He may have the highest production but they will not win without his teammates' contributions. However, as a star player of the team, he is really needed to be playing so the team will be stronger and be able to compete especially in the playoffs.
2557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: if bitcoin was main currency, what's gonna be the BTC value? on: January 07, 2022, 08:44:17 PM
BTC was created with a new transaction system without a central authority. The BTC can be used in the future as the main currency that we gonna pay with. But what's gonna be the value of a main currency? What's the value of dollars or eur?

-Answer is: The dollar IS the value. The dollar doesn't cost anything. The dollar is the value.

If BTC is gonna be used in future, it not gonna cost anything, because the BTC is gonna be the value. It not gonna be like Bitcoin cost 50,000dollars... Bitcoin not gonna cost anything because Bitcoin IS the value. But that's probably not gonna happen. We not gonna pay with BTC but with stable coins like USDT...
We might consider Bitcoin as a legal tender in the future but I'm in doubt about thinking and considering it as the main currency. I'm certainly out of this. But what I'm expecting to happen in the future is that Bitcoin will remain the most profitable investment rather than being used as a currency to make purchases. As people will see being fit as an investment, they will keep doing this forever.
But talking about the value of BTC, it was unpredictable. It changes very often and even IF given the chance to be considered as THE MAIN Currency, I think it was very expensive than of today.
2558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too much of new crypto projects? on: January 06, 2022, 11:37:07 PM
There is no need of being scared or something, it's only to make the right choice when placing investment. Personal findings and research will help to know which Project will standout amongst many. The essences of open source is for innovative minds to come into the system and do something, bring in new ideas, and a drive that will make a change or add to what's already on ground. As new projects are flooding the market, so are the ones that can't survive the market competition dying off. As at 2017, the crypto market and it's ecosystem has not been this heavily flooded with population and it's popularity was just like the sun rise, then imagine it when the sun sets. That's some bit we are experiencing now.
DYOR is the only tool that could help and save us from not getting into the wrong investment. With these huge numbers of crypto created almost every day, I wasn't in big surprise that one day these projects will be gone. And it can possibly multi-fooled for the coming years but guess what, only a few were meant to succeed while the majority as a scam and will fail.
This must have to be taken seriously and we don't have to invest in projects if we are not sure about them.
2559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't bet more than you can afford to lose. on: January 06, 2022, 12:55:44 PM
Gambling is always comes with a high risk, because it is possible to never earn money or may lose money too. So if ever I have earn $2000 dollars a month, I will set aside my money first by saving it to cover all the daily needs of my famiy and emergency expenses. Then maybe I will bet 10% or 20% of my remaining money for gambling.

That's great, savings is very important as we never know what lies in the future. Everything will be fine if we have enough savings and if we also know how to budget our funds, we will never run out of money for gambling purposes, and I think 20% is quite high but acceptable for me.
2560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 06, 2022, 12:21:16 PM
The Dallas Mavericks - Golden State Warriors game didn't end in the way I imagined. I was expecting a high-scoring game and a very close win by Mavericks. They still won but the result was 99-82. But it was still great to see Doncic continuing to improve his performance by this game. He got 26 pts, 7 reb and 8 ast. Curry had another terrible game with 14 pts. He got only 5 field goal made out of 24 shot attempts. And they performed really poorly as a team too.
Curry wasn't playing his MVP level in the last 2 games, not sure if he is 100% healthy or he is having a minor injury that hinders him in playing his full potential. It was a great game as Luka once again proved that he deserve to be part of the MVP conversation, and yes, let's hope we will see the Mavs to be consistent in winning again.
